Hi all. Well we are back from hospital. He's ok but he has bronchialitis (sp?) they say that although he's struggling with his breathing, he's still managaging to get oxygen into his bloodstream. Sorry - just got to eat

FestiveGardenia · 23/12/2008 21:51

Ann for Seb and you. We are going to bed now but I will check in am and see how he is doing.

MerrySibhmas · 23/12/2008 22:06

Glad to see you're home Ann, and it was a good idea to get him checked out so that you can go through the night knowing what is wrong and how best to deal with it.
Goodnight all.

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 23/12/2008 22:06

Ann - pleased to see you back, we were worried about Seb, Keep yourselves warm and snug - let us know how he is in the morning - you need to try and sleep when he does it could be a long night.

SevenRottersPottering · 23/12/2008 22:25

Oh Ann I've been checking all evening since TS posted, thank goodness you're both home safe. Will be thinking of you through the night, and hope the morning brings an improvement in Seb's breathing.

Love to all, 2 more sleeps to go! Hope everyone's bigger DCs are suitably excited tomorrow, I know I am already

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 23/12/2008 22:39

Ann so glad all is more settled for you and Seb.

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 23/12/2008 22:53

Thanks everyone for the good vibes. He's struggling badly with breathing, but at least he's quite chirpy (somehow) and not constantly miserable with it. He's been wanting cuddles a little more than usual, but that's hardly surprising. it's just surprising that he's been just snuggling his head on my shoulder and huffing to breathe not screaming his head off. Was quite worrying though because you can see his chest pulling in under the ribs each time he breathes.
DP now getting my cold as well.

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 23/12/2008 23:05

ann glad you are all back home and wishing you all strength until Seb pulls through the other side. {{{{Hugs}}}}

DH and i have had a lovely christmas shopping in Bath, lunch at Wagamama's and all pressies bought...Phew! Well that's all apart from mine. DH wants to buy me a new watch as i lost my old watch (my 21st birthday pressie from Mum & Dad ) but we didn't see anything which was exactly right. So he is taking DD1 to Cheltenhato m tomorrow morning to choose me one . Lordy!!!!!

We finally picked up DD1's playhouse (cue much swearing trying to fit it into the car ) and DH is going to have to try and build it in the garden tomorrow without DD1 seeing [hopeless exercise emoticon]

TS any news on the DB/SIL saga? Have you dropped SIL in it yet?

Crap night's sleep last night (prophetic thread title ) - DD1 up 3 times screaming and Emma up twice, so hoping for better tonight

poppystocking · 23/12/2008 23:07

I'm so sorry to hear about your trip to the hospital and Seb's bronchiolitis Ann. It was awful when Emily was having similar difficulties and she too was just so good about it. It is incredible how quickly they get better though. Will be thinking of you tonight. Hope he improves in time for his first Christmas .

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 23/12/2008 23:08

Oh, you'll be pleased to hear that i botched my sisters pressie by decanting most of the remaining mini toblerone into a pretty drawstring bag and wrapped that up .....resourceful, non?

OP posts:
TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 23/12/2008 23:43

very resourceful, sazzles. nice save.

ann that sounds really scary sounding. {{{hugs}}}

no word from db. oh well...his loss.

still working here. how crazy is that. mil company is not worth this stress!!!!!

ataraxmas · 24/12/2008 08:02

Happy christmas eve!
Lots of fresh christmas breakfast goodies on offer so feel free to help yourself.

ann, sorry to hear about yesterday, I hope that you and Seb had a decent night's sleep and that he is doing better today.

cleaning - yep, millions and millions of cleaning still to do...
wrapping - yep, millions and millions of wrapping still to do...

we have been thoroughly de-crapping the house over the last few days and DH's comments were about how horrified he was about the level of consumption from 2 small boys - it is mainly he and his mother that buy things, and I have been telling him for ages to stop getting stuff just for the sake of it . Today he tells me that the boys should have stockings - I pointed out the number of presents and level of consumption - 'oh but they are only young once' says he . MIL is bound to have bought a mountain of stuff, so here we go filling up with crap again . I know it is a bit bah humbug, but all they play with is cars and lego at the moment, everything else gets played with once and chucked into a corner to built up corner crap.
sorry about the rant but now I will be able to smile happily amongst the crap with my rant already done

dingdongmerrilyfromhome · 24/12/2008 08:31

Happy Christmas Eve!

After breakfast this morning my sister, who had been cuddling DS, put him down and he started to whinge. She was about to pick him up again but I said "don't worry, it's OK, just put a clean tea towel over his head" - cue whinging stopping straight away.

Mum: "so have you told the women on the internet about this"

Me: "No"

Mum: "I wonder why on earth not"

On a different note, your company and support this last year has been really important for me, and so thank you.

MerrySibhmas · 24/12/2008 08:43

lol Longway, you sound like an old pro ...
Isn't that what you do with parrots too?
Have to run as DD2 has a muslin over her face and is battling it bravely.
I hope Seb had a fair night.

ataraxmas · 24/12/2008 08:58
MerrySibhmas · 24/12/2008 08:59

An old pro in terms of mothering skills obviously. No implications re. easy virtue intended

Sleep may be for the weak, but it doesn't half improve your ability to think things through before you press send.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 24/12/2008 09:37

mmm port is my fsvourite tipple.

Merry Christmas Eve

Ds also loves muslin over face.
We had a great night last night.
Ds managed to sleep 7pm - 4am fed then slept till 8am yeah.
He still barked and coughed all night, but never cried.

ann hope Seb is feeling better soon, I took ds to emergency docs. she said better to se 20 babies that are all ok than 1 baby be at home ill.

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 24/12/2008 10:35

bugger. missedthe port. ah well. Seb slept ok-ish. had a few wails so had to put his dummy in a few times. scarily he had a horrible gasping wheeze for about 10-15 minutes which made me call nhs direct. he's currently on my lap talking to his hands.
MIL not impressed with DP. He stopped off at Abbey Wood to collect his mobile which he lost on the train on Monday. MIL is saying he shouldn't have aas the little man was at hospital. Can't decide whether or not she's overreacting.

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 24/12/2008 11:06

eurgh, up at 2, 4 and 5.30 again last night. We're both knackered, ds chirpy as ever

packing to go to my parents for the next few days, so just want to wish all of you a festive yuletide, hope all have a wonderful time!

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 24/12/2008 11:29

merry christmas eve all

only one wake-up last night...shame it lasted two and a half hours

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 24/12/2008 11:36

Cyteen - Seb has been doing that the last couple of weeks. Wakes up about 1030 then doesn't go back down until 1 am.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 24/12/2008 13:26

Ann sounds a little like asthma. Do you have cats? Allergines like dust or REAL CHRISTMAS TREE PINE can cause reactions. What new in your home? Hopefully it's not asthma and just the bronch caused by a cold. {{{hugs}}}

Longway, Reese too likes the blanket over her face to settle. I figure it's because she's so use to falling asleep in my Moby.

LOADS to do today. One sleep till Santa and still no food in the house.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 24/12/2008 13:27

Oh, sorry. That was rude.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!

{{{{twilight hands out cinnamon rolls and fresh brewed coffee}}}}}

OhLittleBitShyOfBethlehem · 24/12/2008 13:49

argh Christnmas eve......

Glad seb reasonably ok ann
been up gp with henry today - from rubbing his snotty nose he's given himself gunky eyes - got drops - THAT'S going to be bundles of torture fun 4 times a day

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 24/12/2008 13:50

Ooh cinnamon rolls yum!
TS we do have a christmas tree, but seeing as little man is all snotty as well, I think it probably is the bronch caused by the cold. He also started with the cold the day after I caught it, so I must have passed it on to him
