Jet - how was your school dinner?

Loopy - yes, have got the car and have had it about 10 days now. It's super quick and i have been boy-racered a few times already lol. Needless to say i have NOT obliged the lads' "invitations" to try and race lol!! It's funny seeing them sitting there in their cars getting all revvy tho.

littleoldme · 08/10/2009 19:07

Feeling really flat today - without going into all the details... I went to an appointment with a Clinical Genticist as I have to decide if I want to be tested for the gentic defect that will give me a hugely increased risk of getting breast and/or ovarian cancer. I have a 50/50 chance of having the defct and can't decide what to do. Sorry to whinge but DH isn't home yet and I'm feeling a tad emotional.

RGPargy · 08/10/2009 21:30

Oh LOM (((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) What a terrible worry for you. No wonder you are feeling emotional. I have no answer for you as it's completely your decision but i do hope you find peace with whatever decision you choose. x

FrightNightFebes · 08/10/2009 21:52

Hi everyone. Our babies are going to be 2 next month where has the time gone??? We might need a new thread.

RG- loving the new car

LOM- I hope you are ok and work out what you want to do soon.

Loving the poo stories. The last few days Anabel seems to be showing signs that she s ready to start potty training. I wasn't going to do it until summer . She all of a sudden seems older. We had a holiday away and slept in a single bed and although we found her under the bed asleep a few times she seemed to sleep quite well. So I'm thinking of moving her into her bed so poor Rueben can have the cot. He's in the travel cot still.

What are you guys getting Dcs for their birthdays and are you having a party?

RGPargy · 08/10/2009 22:07

Febes - DD wont be 2 til December so i have a little extra breathing space on that one!

DD showed interest in her potty tonight and said she wanted to do a wee wee on it. So i kept asking her if she wanted a wee and she said no and then when i asked if she was going to do a wee on the potty, she said yes. So then 15 mins later she said she didn't want a wee but just sat in the same spot. I lifted her up and there was a little puddle! Little bugger lol! I dont think she fully understands what it's all about just yet so i'm not going to push it for a few months yet.

Not sure what to get DD for her birthday - she needs so many new toys it's unreal! She's still playing with her babyish toys and i feel so bad that she's not been overloaded with toys like most kids are.

I'm thinking along the lines of jigsaws, Happy Land stuff, dolls house type stuff, anything to do with trains lol. We'll probably just have a few family and friends over for a buffet type thing like we did last year.

littleoldme · 09/10/2009 12:27

Thanks guys - feel happier after a good snooze and bottle of beer.

RG - I got some stuff like like for T off e-bay. Bundles can be bargainacious.

T and his friend are sharing a party at a small soft play centre. We had a little family do lat year but know I'd like to make more of a fuss as he'll be more aware.

I'm thinking of getting him a subscription to cebeebies magazine. A bit boring but he loves it and lots of other people will buy him toys (I hope)

FrightNightFebes · 09/10/2009 12:49

You guys are giving me some great ideas.I might go looking on ebay for toy bundles.
We are having a joint party with 2 others from our antenatal just parents and the kids so quite low key and then I might have an afternoon tea on the day at our house.
I'm dragging DH car booting on sunday to see if I can find some nice toys. I got a fab fisher price 'Little People' farm set for a fiver a few months ago and it has been the best 5 pounds spent as she has played and played with it. I like to rotate her toys so I Anabel doesn't get sick of them but she keeps asking for it.

I'm getting lots more words all of a sudden. She has been quite slow to start talking but has definately increased her vocab this week.

I wonder how Little Miss Bliss is getting on. Has she has DS2 yet? If not it must be soon.

jetgirl · 09/10/2009 20:51

LOM - gosh, what a big decision. Glad you're feeling better today.

RG - school dinner was lovely, I am very jealous of DD, the school I work at doesn't serve up food nearly as good . I asked her what she had today (even though I knew as you have to choose the meals in the week beforehand) "I had the most delicious chocolate cake ever, with yummy chocolate custard!" She did eat her sausgae, mash and green beans first too!

Febes - loving your Halloween name! William loves playing with little people too - his favourite toy is an ELC fire engine which he's had for over a year, but never tires of. he makes little sound effects now when he's playing with it which is very cute.

I'll email LMB and find out how she's getting on, haven't heard from her for a bit.

Well, I put William to bed tonight without booby first, for the first time ever. DH has put him to bed, so he's used to not having booby, just not from me! He protested for a while, but did fall asleep and I think the bf will all be over soon. I'm quite sad about it, but it will be so nice to have my body back completely to myself for the first time in nearly 3 years

Haven't made birthday plans yet, though I'm thinking of getting him a wooden train set as he loves trains, particularly Thomas. He walks around the house doing train actions saying 'choo choo'!

DH out and bottle of wine chilling in the fridge - what a nice evening!

littleoldme · 12/10/2009 08:34

Jet - we got a nice wooden train set for T from tesco direct . It's compatibe with other ones and only cost a tenner.

Febes- how did the carboot go ? I trust you got plenty of batgains.

OP posts:
FrightNightFebes · 12/10/2009 09:42

Carboot was fab. We got a dolls house with furniture that is really old and needs a bit of loving for a fiver (Anabels' Christmas present I think), 10 matchbox cars for £2, a potty for 50p, a clacky dog on a stick for 50p (Ruebens' christmas present) and some demijars and a corker for £10 for DHs lastest hobby of homebrewing. Love car boots. There are only 2 more this year at the one we go to so might have to go again this weekend.

Anabel is showing signs of being ready to potty train. She has started undressing herself in the mornings, jammies off and then takes off her nappy and likes walking round without her nappy. We didn't get any puddles and she talking about the wee and points, then points to where I wee from and Rueben Charming I know. I am happy to wait but we got the potty yesterday so will keep it in the lounge and start encouraging her to sit on it.

jetgirl · 13/10/2009 10:50

Thanks for the tip LOM!

Greedygirl · 14/10/2009 21:12

HI everyone.
How annoying I did an enormous long post the other day and it is not here! No idea now what I put but it was probably very articulate, wise and witty .

Nothing much to report; DS is being gorgeous/bit of a pain on alternate days! Working one extra morning a week and I enjoy it when I am there but really, really hate leaving Adam for the extra half day so feeling a bit grumpy about it all. Can't wait for his birthday/xmas and probably more excited about his new toys than he is! We are getting him a trike. Need to get myself to a car boot soon, some of his fave toys and books are from our local charity shop.

We've nearly finished bfeeding here too. I have had enough now but not sure how to drop that final bedtime feed! I don't regret it for a moment but it has put me off having another one slightly as I don't know if I could keep it up for another couple of years. But they are all different I suppose.

LOM - I did say in my lost post, sorry you were feeling crap (no wonder) and I hope you are feeling better now. An impossible situation to be in I would imagine. Looking forward to half term meet up if poss.

DH has swine flu! DS and me fine so far, touch wood.

RGPargy · 14/10/2009 22:46

Febes - I really must get myself to a bootfair. Sounds like much bargainous purchases are there to be had! I'm looking for a doll's house too, although MIL made noises about FIL making one for DD (he's a chippy by trade) so i'm not sure whether to hold on or not.

DD is also showing signs of possibly being ready to potty trained. For the last couple of days she has come and told me when she's done a poo in her nappy. Clever girl.

Jet - Glad you enjoyed the school dinner!

Greedy - Sorry to hear DH has swine flu! Hope you manage to avoid it. It sounds awful from what i've heard about it. Hope you manage to get your body back soon () and your extra morning isn't too awful for you.

Right, should go to bed really. Work tomorrow. Boo hiss!!

Have a nice rest of the evening ladies!

littleoldme · 16/10/2009 21:49

Greedy - Hope your DH recovers soon. Really looking forward to seeing you over half term and still on for the Friday.
I am feeling better about all that stuff now. It was just a bit of bomb shell.

Hope everyone has agood weekend. X

Lost you! Bookmarking

jetgirl · 20/10/2009 09:23

Busy week last week - DH away, in-laws came to stay for a week to help out!! I managed not to go completely crazy, and they were in fact very helpful. I did, however, sleep on the floor in the kids room and as a result I have done something very painful to my right shoulder which means I can barely move my right arm. I couldn't write on the board at work yesterday which wasn't helpful.

greedy - we've pretty much dropped the bedtime feed by letting DH put William to bed as he only protests for a bit before he falls asleep. Last night he woke at about 4 screamed for milk, scratched my face and had a real paddy before falling asleep in DH's arms. The night before he asked for booby, I said no and he kissed me and fell asleep so I just don't know what reaction I'll get! I haven't bf for 36 hours now and am not too swollen, so I guess I'm not producing much anyway now. Hope your DH is feeling better.

LOM - glad you're feeling better now. Half term can't come soon enough for me!!

Greedygirl · 20/10/2009 21:25

Do you cuddle him to sleep Jet? Hope your shoulder is feeling better.

jetgirl · 21/10/2009 12:11

Greedy - Sometimes I cuddle him, last night he didn't even ask for it when he woke up, he just fell asleep next to me so I am hoping he is getting the message that it's not available. He falls asleep in his bed at bedtime and wanders into our room at around 3am.

Doc syas I have an inflamed joint and have to try and rest it, though she said that's not easy being a mum - painkillers, ice and rubbing the joint 3 times a day for 10 days have been prescribed.

Feeling proper mumsy today - have baked cakes for the PTA cake sale which I am helping out at later today too.

Greedygirl · 24/10/2009 12:02

How did the cake sale go Jet? I haven't done any baking for a while, my waistline was suffering!

We had a flipping awful night last night and I didn't feed him as I was really sore and just couldn't bear the thought of it. He accepted it eventually although he did end up in bed with us! I think I am just going to keep going and not offer any more feeds, I feel really sad that it is ending because I have had enough but I think I have done my bit!

I am off for half-term now - yippee! Going to do lots of lovely things with Adam to make up for no more "tea night nights".

jetgirl · 24/10/2009 13:02

Greedy - I have done the same and William has accepted it now, though looks down my top and says 'bye bye booby' But as you say, i think I've done my bit now and i am looking forward to treating myself to some nice underwear once my boobs have settled down! Cake sale was great!

Hooray for half term!

Greedygirl · 26/10/2009 10:56

Finally finished breast feeding at 23 months! Hurrah! Adam a superstar and not really bothered so perhaps I could have done it sooner. Or perhaps it was just good timing . In dire need of some new bras too.

FrightNightFebes · 26/10/2009 20:24

Greedy well done! You have done so well feeding so long and I'm glad you are both happy about stopping now. I can't wait to be out of my nursing bras the oldest one, and of course most comfy, is disintergrating .

RGPargy · 27/10/2009 21:54

Just bookmarking ladies

jetgirl · 28/10/2009 09:03

Greedy - well done and I'm glad Adam is happy about it too. William woke up the other night and asked for water, so he's accepted it too. None of my bras fit now though - I am much smaller than I have been since I was pregnant with DD. At my biggest I was a 36E, but I am around 34B now Loved my big boobs!

Am suffering horrible period pains today and just want to curl up in bed with a hot water bottle, but have got to entertain the kids instead. It's going to be a long day!

Greedygirl · 28/10/2009 16:21

Arghh! Don't even go there! My poor deflated boobs. Have you tried feminax for period pains Jet? You have to ask over the counter but they are brill for taking the edge off.
