Oh BTW, must tell you about DD's latest thing!! She now pretends to sleep by putting her head on a pillow or to the side in her car seat and then makes a SNORE noise, because she is copying mummy!!! I PMSL when she first did it! How embarrassing!!

jetgirl · 17/09/2009 17:18

RG - William does the same snoring thing, I think it's so cute. He also wags his finger at us and says 'no,no,no,no,no!' if you do something he doesn't like, like trying to give him a cuddle or tickle. Has us in fits every time, I'm trying to video him doing it so I can put it on facebook for my little sis to watch in Oz. Am no car expert, but DH would probably say go with the BMW as they do hold their value well and go on for years.

Loopy - sounds pretty intense for you atm. DD doesn't go full time until after half term, so they day seems very short. Hoorah for sticker charts!

RGPargy · 17/09/2009 21:30

Jet - how funny!! It is very cute isn't it! lol @ the finger wagging! I think it'll be a toss up between something swish like a BMW (and get cut up and run off the road by other road users lol) or personally, i wouldn't mind another Vectra saloon as i loved Victor before DP killed him!

Well, looks like we are now going for a boring Focus after all zzzzzzzz. I'm a bit peed off actually. DP was the one that wrote of MY car so we had to buy something quick so that we had transport. So really should I be the one that has the ultimate decision on what car I would like rather than him umming and ahhing because he doesn't like the cars that I like?!! Now he's even saying that he doesn't necessarily want to choose one that's a dishy colour, but will settle for one that's that awful boring bluey colour (sorry if anyone's cars are that colour!).

Hmph!!

DD is picking up and saying 2 - 3 words every day now, it's amazing! One of today's words was "Tractor" because we saw one on the way to the gym. Even the creche people commented on how much her speech is coming along! I'm convinced it's helped by Sing and Sign!!

jetgirl · 23/09/2009 09:07

RG - William is just the same, he suddenly seems fascinated by naming everything and pointing at everything he can say the name of. He's so proud of himself, it's so cute. Can't put it down to sing and sign though, more likely a very chatty big sister who tells him everything! He brought a book to me this morning and said 'read it!'

I agree that you should definitely get the last say over your new car, esp. since it's yours I would never tell DH what type of car to get, seeing as he has a company car though, I don't suppose I would hold much sway anyway.

Jet - it's probably just a phase then. I am obviously being precious and trying to justify me spending £56 for an 11 week s&s course lol.

Loopy - Your post about DD3 reminded me of DD today. We were parked outside a building site briefly today (school field into houses, ggrrr) and as i picked up DD to put her into the car, she saw a man screwing on Health and Safety notices to the outside of the site. She was looking over at him and SHOUTING "Hey!!!! Hey!!!!" It cracked me up!! I have no idea why she was shouting at him!! Little flirt haha

As for potty training, i too think it's waaay too soon to be thinking about it just yet. I must admit i have been tempted, especially when DD tells me when she's done a poo or wee. At most tho i just mention that she should sit on the potty and do that to which she answers "No?" and i leave it at that. Summer next year i think will be the optimum time to start. Not looking forward to it! Seems like all i have been hearing lately is women speaking to their kids saying "If you need a wee, let me know. We dont want any more accidents.....". Ugh, what a headache potty training will be!

I know that as i will be driving the car the most, i should get the last say but DP is putting most of the money in so maybe he feels he has the ultimate right over which car? I daren't throw the "well you wrote off my car" card at him! It might result in divorce! haha!

jetgirl · 25/09/2009 09:52

That's so funny you mentioned potty training Loopy as I had been thinking about trying William on his. he always says when he's about to poo now, so he recognises that, and nursery have said if we want they'll sit him on the potty every nappy change. So this morning I tried that but I have hit a problem that other mums of boys might be able to solve for me...when William sits on the potty his willy gets squished and I am fairly certain he'll not be able to pee in the potty Never had this issue with DD!!
I did not enjoy potty training the first time round with DD, but think I just want it out of the way now!

RG - I have heard that signing helps with speech development, and DD and William both enjoy watching Something Special on CBeebies, but it's only DD that bothers trying the signs. William just laughs at Mr Tumble

RGPargy · 25/09/2009 10:27

That's good that he tell you BEFORE he poos, jet! DD tells me after she's done one and then denies it when i ask if she's done one (despite smelling very ripe!). DD also likes Mr Tumble too.

WE HAVE BOUGHT A NEW CAR!!!! WOOOHOOO!! Finally! I was browsing on Autotrader at work yesterday (as you do!) and came across this little Golf GTI. I sent DP the link and he instantly fell in love with it - most unusual for him! So he went to have a look at it as he was home from work early and loved it! He gave it a test drive and checked it out etc. I've not seen it properly yet as it was dark by the time i got home from work yesterday so i only had a quick scoot around the outside of it on my way home.

It needs a couple of bits doing to it, which the garage are going to do for us and then we will collect it on Tuesday or Wednesday. How exciting! The best thing of all is the fact that I found the car and I had the ultimate decision on whether or not we should go for it. So now i feel smug in the knowledge that ultimately, I did in fact chose our new car!

jetgirl · 25/09/2009 11:41

RG - i am going to be very girly now and ask...what colour is the car?

RGPargy · 25/09/2009 11:50

It's "Metallic Mulberry" Pics can be found HERE

Greedygirl · 29/09/2009 20:08

Hi guys, just been catching up.

New car looks lovely RG - I have a very very very boring ford focus! Along with 50 billion other people. It is costing me lots of money at the moment too. Bloody cars.

Adam is a proper chatterbox but I have to act as his interpreter much of the time. He flirts outrageously with teenage girls which is a bit embarrasing. He also has a habit of pointing at strangers and shouting "daddy" . His favourite phrases at the mo are "no mummy!", "more toast" and "Adam's go".

Potty training - bleugh, can't be bothered yet, don't think Adam is ready anyway, he also denies having done one in spite of grunting, turning purple and reeking to high heaven!

RG - nice car and I love the colour

Loopy - we have about 8 ambulances a day go past our house, and usually at least one fire engine and a few police cars, but William only says 'nee naw', disappointing really

Greedy - William is a flirt too, but doesn't restrict himself to teenage girls, he likes the older women too. The potty training is not being taken particularly seriously here, I've tried putting William onthe potty and he just screams so have given up for the time being.

Making cupackes today for a friend who gave birth to a baby girl on Monday, and taking them round to her. Baby was over a week early and weighed 8lbs 10oz which made my eyes water a bit! Bet she's gorgeous though...

RGPargy · 30/09/2009 20:14

Greedy - we nearly bought a Focus but i just didn't fall in love with them, IYKWIM. LOL @ shouting Daddy. Ellie was doing that too not so long ago - mainly at random strangers. Now she just calls DS "Daddy" instead haha!

Loopy - I'm so pleased we bought the GTI! It is so much fun - DP and I are currently counting how many times a day we get "boy racered" at the lights haha! I dont want to do it, but i think i'm going to have to stick one of those "child on board" stickers in the car to maybe deter twats people from trying to burn us up etc with DD in the car.

Jet - aww that's nice of you to make cupcakes for your friend! Sounds like just what the doctor ordered!

We are having much broken sleep here in RGPargy Towers. DD has decided to get all her incisors at once and for the past week has been completely whingey, winey, tearful and since Monday, has been covered in snot. Lovely! I have been at the end of my tether with her today tho. Everything I did she screamed at. Leaving the room was nigh-on impossible without hysterics. Sitting in her at the table caused more hysteria. She's been clinging to my legs (whilst wiping her snot on me!) all day!! It took me 1.5 hours to just stick some ingredients into a bowl and mix them up (peanut sesame noodles) because i had to keep stopping! AAAGGGHHHH!!! I am soooo glad i'm going to work tomorrow!!

She did impress me earlier on tho. She was eating a crumpet for her lunch and then she pointed to the crumbs and started saying "three, four, five, six". I was a bit by that because i'm sure they are alot older when they start counting?? Of course she is probably just recalling from memory rather than knowing what she is saying but it did sound rather good!

jetgirl · 01/10/2009 21:03

RG - William makes number sounds too. He plays this game in which he says 'sleep' so we have to pretend to be asleep, then he'counts' and wakes us up! It's from the Wiggles DVD that's he's probably watched far too much; they do the same thing to wake up one of the wiggles who always falls asleep. It's the cutest thing. The funniest thing he has said recently was when we were watching the One Show, he pointed to Christine Bleakley's chest and said 'boobies' , boy did he look pleased with himself!

I'm going through a cupcake phase at the moment, can't resist making them and eating them. I have to give them to my friends otherwise i would be eating them all myself!! My friend and her partner were asleep when I went round, so I left the cupcakes and some flowers from a group of us on the doorstep. Meeting up next week for a walk on the common which should be nice.

RGPargy · 01/10/2009 21:42

Jet - awww William sounds really cute! It's amazing how much pick up from the TV isn't it!! I never it would happen but it seems that ITNG and CBeebies have become my babysitting friend.

Can you send me some cupcakes? What a good friend you are!

I am pleased to report that we had a good night's sleep last night. As i had work today, i just knew that i would be going into her room to wake her in the morning and that is exactly what happened, bless her! She was much much chirpier today, thankfully! Hopefully this might be the start of the end??

RGPargy · 01/10/2009 21:42

never *thought it would happen. Silly fingers going too fast for my brain!!

littleoldme · 03/10/2009 18:34

RG - glad you got the car sorted. Hope you enjoy it.
Jet - feel free to send cupcakes over this way.
Tom tells me when he's going to poo too. Rather embarrassingly he also shouts, "Poo coming" anythime there's a slightly farty noise.

We've just got back from two weeks away. We had a fab time but I must go now and sort the washing.

OP posts:
RGPargy · 05/10/2009 21:53

lol @ poo coming LOM!

How are your LOs with colours? DD is starting to recognise colours now - very impressive! That's about the only interesting thing i have to say right now. haha!!

Hope you've all had a good weekend.

jetgirl · 07/10/2009 08:38

William knows the words for colours, but not how to apply them correctly. He merrily picked lots of green tomatoes last week when i asked for the red ones!

RG - if i can get tea cooked and the table tidied while the kids watch a bit of cbeebies then so be it! My mum always said childrens tv was a godsend when we were little as it meant we weren't fighting over toys while she tried to get things done .

lom - glad you had a nice break

William and I are going to DD's school today for practice hot dinners! Parents are encouraged to stay so it's school dinner for me today - yummy, I hope!
