Hi all

big hugs to dizzy

buckets you are so last season - I've had my new organised mum calendar for AGES

Good weekend here with my sisters - except for useless brother in law who sat on his arse the whole time, expected to be waited on hand and foot, didn't thank me for driving them to and from the station (with screaming hungry baby - when they could have driven here but got the train as he doesn't like driving), and took third and fourth helpings of food BEFORE ANYONE ELSE HAD FINISHED Caveat - he is actually a nice person but I am really not sure about my sister having children with him....

dizzyjingles · 07/12/2008 21:41

buckets I kust chuck everything in a jug and pour boiled kettle over it - our house is riddled with germs and diseases though

sazz glad today went okish

I took DD1 and 2 of her pals to a party this afternoon, dumped them there and teared round tesco (was fecking heaving in there too ) grabbed the girls, dropped one off and brought the other one here for a wee while until her mum could collect her so DD1 had a great day

DD2 went out with my friend so she's cream crackered and off to bed too

Dylan also shattered so fingers crossed

am currently sorting out piles of ironing to find school uniform for tomorrow and piles of clothes - wondering what to do with all my maternity gear - do I keep , sell , give to charity or anyone else in need of some

very early night for me as DH on nights and will be no help again until about, hmmmmmmmmm Wed

dizzyjingles · 07/12/2008 21:42

and thank you for all my hugs - all gratefully received

see!?!? they even made my Xmas smileys come back

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 07/12/2008 21:48

dizzy I am there with you - dh is not back for a week - however I have a feeling your dcs are with you a lot more than mine are with me iyswim so I reckon you have a harder time

Am also off to bed but hope to catch up tomorrow

dizzyjingles · 07/12/2008 21:51

a week oh no. am let me guess christmas with miraculously organise itself as it does in our house too hope you get a good sleep

god they are truely beautiful girls TS just lovely

and what a fab view you get from your house

MerrySibhmas · 07/12/2008 23:29

Oh TS what gorgeous girls. And the origins of Kinsley's name are lovely too.

I'm glad you've got your smiles bac Dizzy -that sounds like a terrible night. I keep getting woken here by DD2 making a strange kind of grunting pain noise which might be constipation but seems to have something to do with really not liking having a bit of a cold too.

Can I join the 'lots of kids and missing DH' club? DH is doing long days all this week, rehearsals for his school play all weekend, the play itself on Monday and then he's travelling to England for a funeral on the Tuesday which will mean he is away for another few days. I'll be hiding under the dinner table whimpering I think by the time Christmas comes ...

Hmm, must think happy Christmas thoughts

MerrySibhmas · 07/12/2008 23:32

OMG -- my dial-up connection has finally loaded the pic of your Christmas tree TS.

I want one that looks as genuinely festive as that!!!!!!

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 08/12/2008 01:15

you ladies make me blush. just a little picture christmas cheer. i've finally ordered our christmas cards. the picture of the girls is on the front, of course. they won't arrive for a week so i'll forget worrying over them until next weekend.

sibh and dizzy, reese has been grunty recently too. i think she may turn up with the cold i had last weekend. fingers are crossed though that she doesn't get it. she's been a bit gassy this weekend. every picture we took...she'd move and . it was quite amusing.

tomorrow i'll be running out the door for preschool and reese's month 4 well child visit. she may or may not get shots since she reacted so with the last ones.

i may need a drink before bed. kinsley's christmas tree train is LLOOUUDD. [hands over ears smiley]

wishing all a wonderful start to their week.

MerrySibhmas · 08/12/2008 07:39

DD2's has a sore throat I think. She started coughing as soon as I got offline last night, and her little sore throat cry is a bit heartbreaking . So Calpol and standing next to the shower with her while the others are in I think ...

MerrySibhmas · 08/12/2008 07:41

What are the 's doing in there?
Sleep deprivation and grammar failure are related I think.

WeWishYouAMiamlaChristmas · 08/12/2008 08:33

morning alll, has noone put the kettle on yet?

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 08/12/2008 09:05

Porridge anyone?

I have the most chronic sore throat today - my epiglottis dangly bit at the back of my throat is all swollen and I am struggling to swallow. Hot tea with honey, porridge and paracetamol seem to have helped.

DD was fantastic last night 8-5 then fed and has justwoken up. Me on the other hand - I was awake from 3 to 5.30 then up again at 7.45. DD doesn't actually wake at 5 she just snuffles and sucks fingers. madly - so may not really want a feed but it stops her waking at 7 wantig to play .

Gotta go move my car - men moving garden stuff today!

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 08/12/2008 09:11

Lovely, lovely pic of the girls TS. I tried to take one earlier for the Grandparents and was not so successful

Sorry to hear of lonesome Mummy's, absent Daddies and ill families .

Off to Playgroup....catch you later....

no1putsantaupthechimney · 08/12/2008 09:21

ts the pictures are beautiful.

I also wish get well soon vibes to all.

I still feel rough as too. I just keep reminding myself its better to be poorly now and get it out of the way before xmas.IYKWIM

sazzles poor dd scared of santa, I was thinking of this last night, as dd has santa coming to playgroup in couple of week where they have fancy dress etc... and we take a gift put it in sack on way in and santa comes and gives out the gifts.
I was thinking maybe she will freak out, so may get her to watch him on tv or a book or something. At least try and prepare her for the fat man in a red suit.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 08/12/2008 09:23

The party is fancy dress, so I have been told I must also dress up ds.
So as cruel as this may be I have bought him a xmas pudding outfit, with proper padding around the middle. I will upload to profile page now.

Very cruel, but very cute I think.

FestiveGardenia · 08/12/2008 09:24

Morning all not so frosty here today but a beautiful day. I have a brutal headache coming on, creeping up my neck with evil claws, so trying to get sorted before it gets a proper grip. Have to do a bit of work today so I'll some of your tea and porridge to set me up! Thank you.

oops you had a great night! Lucky you, and how obliging of DD.

TS great tree and lovely smiles from your girls. Agree re. view, it looks stunning, you must post a picture of the view itself one day for us to at.

How are things dizzy, are you feeling more jingly again?

and sympathy on the missing husbands front.

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 08/12/2008 09:29

TS Kinsley is very pretty - a real all American girl by the looks of it and lovely smiles from Reese!

One day I will get around to uploading pictures of my three menaces

A bit manic here atm - the PTA have asked for my left arm for their Xmas fair on Saturday. Great timing what with dh being away and everything..... will have to get baking later

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 08/12/2008 09:40

Morning all. Sympathies to those with missing husbands. DP commutes to London, and doesn't finish work till 6 so depending on the trains he gets back between 8 and 9. At least he doesn't work shifts or anything like that.

OKish night here. Little man is still very bunged up, so he was tired but waking up because he couldn't breathe. Eventually did the saline drops (he hates that and screams his head off ) pity you can't let him know that it is going to help him breathe. Got him off about 1 this morning, he hasn't woken since but has been stirring in his sleep a lot and occasionally giving a little cry in his sleep as well.

TS your girls look lovely - showed the pic to DP who also said it was a lovely picture, whith Reese grinning like that

FestiveGardenia · 08/12/2008 09:44

LOL pf we had the Christmas Fair yesterday - normally I do get involved - but this year I played the new baby card (how long are they new?) so went for half an hour with ds in sling, and came home with a few fairy cakes and a class photo. Bliss!

dizzyjingles · 08/12/2008 09:49

my daughters are peforming some kind of cruel chinese sleep depriving torture on me wee sods darlings all coughed all night with Dylan ending up in bed with me and DD2 getting medised thrown down her throat at about 2am am too tired not to be knocking her out when she starts shouting

DH came in this morning at 7.15 and just got into bed - the next thing I knew it was 8:40 needless to say he was told in no uncertain terms to get back out of bed and deal with the smallest two whilst I wheeched DD1 to school - bless her I think she was still spinning when they lined up to go into school - is a banana enough for breakfast in the cold scottish winter [bad mummy emoticon][I seem to be using the bad mummy emoticon a lot - should request a real one from MNHQ]

DH now back in bed, DD2 still coughing up her lungs and Dylan hopefully going to havea feed and a nap

ann sorry to hear the wee one suffering too, nothing worse than hearing them snuffle

oops glad she slept well shame you didn't manage the same though - isn't that always the way? I tend not to hear Dylan until she's really needing lifted now as she's in her own room - I think I used to lift her and feed her without her really needing it and she was too polite to refuse

VG hope the headache doesn't come to anything

No1 can't wait to see photos of your wee pudding

right am off to try to get Dylan over and have another wee shot at the house as DD1 asked

'mummy, when is the house going to be clean enough to put up the Christmas tree?!?!?'

dizzyjingles · 08/12/2008 09:53

pf cannot recommend those hummingbird cakes highly enough as they are SOOOOOOOOOOO easy to make but also delicious!! would help if I was closer but think fair may well be over by time we got there

sibh I meant to say if it IS constipation bothering the wee man you could try stomach massage to help move his bowels - start at bottom left of his stomach (just above groin) and gently push up and round in an upside down u shape clockwise - this follows natural movement of bowel and may help him along

FestiveGardenia · 08/12/2008 10:05

sibh I missed that you have tummy troubles. I did a baby massage course with ds and the tummy part, which is meant to be good for getting things moving, is as dizzy said plus you can do these (baby on back):

  • repeated, light, downward strokes with the flat of your hand from just under ribs to where tummy curves away
  • lift legs and bend knees towards tummy as far as seems comfy for the baby, repeated a few times
  • simple clockwise circles with flat of hand on tummy

Written out like that they don't exactly seem like Moves of Great Therapists but you might not think of them, and when you do them in sequence, with dizzy's u-shape, you might get results. And even if you don't get results it's a nice opportunity to chat to your dd! Though with your dh away you might find it hard to get the ten mins of calm...
