oh and DD1 who has been doing the nativity etc at school has now taken to calling Dylan

the little Lord Dylan or just Lord Dylan as she seems to believe that all babies around the time of Christmas should have the title Lord now

am just worried Dylan may get used to it

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 17/12/2008 00:37

Little bugger still awake. DP fecking useless, as he made no attempt to rock/jiggle etc to sleep. fecking tired and he won't have the dummy, just wants to moan. P'd off with it all right now.

FestiveGardenia · 17/12/2008 01:00

Gosh you lot could natter tonight. I was out for Christmas "drinks" (=tonic water all night) with crowd from old work, was LOVELY.

PMSL at Little Lord Dylan.

Ann you have my total and utter sympathy I hope he's gone back down for you by now and you are asleep yourself.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 17/12/2008 01:12

Ann {{{hugs}}}

No1 charts are averages those HV folk you guys speak of need a good swift kick in the rear end.

Still droopy here. DD1's teacher called to check on her. She said what dd1 did scared all the kids and they were worried about her. WELL THAT'S JUST GREAT! JUST WHAT I NEEDED TO HEAR! Could someone make me feel any worse about the crappy moment? Guess it's a good thing we don't have to show our face at school tomorrow and that there will be three whole weeks for folks to FORGET. OH BUT WAIT.....how many video cameras were rolling???? ARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I think I've just found the best reason to make myself go have that sterilization procedure.

FestiveGardenia · 17/12/2008 01:20

How's dd now TS?

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 17/12/2008 01:41

she's fine. like nothing happened. she looks sad when she hears us talk about the incident but otherwise she seems completely uneffected.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 17/12/2008 01:53

have just unearthed a memory of carrying dd1 out of the concert practice two years ago. i ended up skipping out on the conert altogether that year. maybe she's always uncomfortable in that situation. being hungry and maybe even tired (she yawned several times before the meltdown) chipped away at her fake strong exterior....so she broke. she'd also felt a bit down this morning because she wet the bed. that's a large amount of stress on an almost five year old. .....just wish it wasn't on video anywhere.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 17/12/2008 01:55

night night

FestiveGardenia · 17/12/2008 01:58

Hugs for you, TS, and hugs for dd also. She's probably tired and stressed and maybe a bit confused still with Reese and it's Christmas and she had to do a performance and it all got on top of her? Have a chat with her tomorrow or the next day when she's relaxed.

I'm really sorry, it sounds terrible. I'm sorry I'm too tired to think of anything more useful to say. Hugs again.

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 17/12/2008 09:20

Ahh poor DD1 TS She sounds like such a complex character, I can see her going on to be a real one-in-a-million woman Hope you two enjoy lots of hugs over the festive period.

dizzy we've been singing 'lord joseph' instead of 'lord jesus' in various christmas carols must knock that one on the head before he gets old enough to understand.

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 17/12/2008 09:25

TS poor you and DD1 re the incident, dont know what to say except the memory will fade. The other parents are probably thinking 'there but for the grace of god go I'

No1 I'm with Dizzy, no HV. DS is happy and healthy, not interested in food, likes milk, is growing, pooing and weeing. The fact that they are trying to measure bf babies using ff charts shows a distinct lack of nouse, no? Really I'm being kind, it's plain dumb

It's looking like a beautiful day here, I'm walking to water babies with my silver cross. It just fits in the lift at the Holiday Inn where we do the class

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 17/12/2008 09:32

Morning all. Finally got the little man down just after 1 this morning. THen couldn't get into bed because DP had very kndly sprawled across the entire width of the bed and I couldn't move him. Tried to sleep on the sofa and couldn't get to sleep, got fed up and went back upstairs and thankfully DP had moved a little so I huddled on the edge of the bed and went to sleep.

Must catch up on the thread, seeing as I've no idea what happened to the SurferGirl.

Am goint to have to hover in the front room today to be sure I get my delivery. Sodding doorbell doesn't work and deliverymen never think of knocking.

My HV uses a bf chart for Seb. It's in the red book - the time the GP started saying I'd have to give formula, she was using the wrong chart. But I don't see the HV that much - I just take him down to the clinic every so often to be weighed. It's averaging every three weeks that I go down

poppystocking · 17/12/2008 10:31

Christmas tidings to you all! . Our Christmas break is now in full swing and we've just about recovered from the journey. All fine actually, they were both really good and despite the M6 being shut , we made good time. Anticipation definitely usually worse than the reality. Must remember that for next time.

TS and minisurfer1. Hope things are looking sunnier this morning.

Hope you're feeling chirpier Dizzy and good luck with tomorrow's auction! DD1 is still asking daily about Lexie's state of health!

Eek once more to the returning rodents!

Lots of sympathy No1 with the charts. I won't start on that again, but I know how you feel!

Glad Joe's nappies have sorted themselves out cyteen. Must have been a real moment.

LOL to all this lovely older sibs Sibh and buckets and all the DCs now a part of the Christmas story . I can't wait to see DD1 on Christmas morning. This is the first time she really gets it. Although if she's not a good girl...[terrible parenting by bribery emoticon...]

I'm sure I've missed lots. Took me most of yesterday to catch up!

DH is coming down for the day to suprise DD1 tomorrow(and DD2, although I suspect she won't notice). Can't wait! In the meantime, DD1/I has a third christmas tree to decorate

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 17/12/2008 10:45

TS Don't worry about it - I am sure the teachers have seen it all before.

dd's nativity play - no less than three children had to be removed from the stage in tears. dd had another nativity play with her other nursery and danced her angel dance with her eyes shut as she was shy and didn't want the audience to see her (she is only 3 after all)

Also, some children hate performing at this age but my fil and step mil (one a past teacher one a current headteacher) reliably tell me this is no indication of whether they will or won't like the stage when they are a bit older.

Don't look for a new preschool it really isn't necessary imo - you poor thing for feeling so bad

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 17/12/2008 10:49

Ann there is a reason humans evolved pointy elbows you know

Sympathies to all with pest problems. I'm sure there is something (or some things ) living in the walls here, my cats are constantly stalking the skirting boards and casting suspicious looks. Haven't seen anything yet, hopefully the smell of felines is keeping whatever it is at bay (not that my cats would be much of a threat, the lazy feckers).

Bit of a crazy night sleepwise; Joe went off without a murmur at 7.30, woke hungry at 10pm, woke again at 2am - I was knackered so fed him asleep lying down, so we're both dozing away when I realise DP is wide awake stressing about work. So I wake up to talk it through with him, then DS wakes up and decides it's morning, so we take him into our bed and put the light off - cue much shushing from half-asleep parents as Joe does his best conductor impression and smacks us about with his waving arms. Then just as we are all asleep the bloody cat tramples all over us, wakes the baby, DP ends up heading to the spare room for some emergency shuteye and I get two more wake-up calls from Joe before morning. What a farce! [bleary eyed emoticon]

Was rather fun though

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 17/12/2008 10:51

Duh, that would be conducter, not conductor Don't worry, we haven't been routing electricity though him or anything!

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 17/12/2008 11:06

Cyteen - Have images of a flashing, glowing, buzzing electric baby.
Re pointy elbow -DP is the heaviest sleeper I have ever known. He once hit his mum in his sleep when she tried to wake him up for school, then had no memory of it later. I've had conversations with him, when I thought he was awake, which he later had no memory of. Didn't want to use elbows for fear of sleepy whacking

WeWishYouAMiamlaChristmas · 17/12/2008 14:36

just here quickly to say re london meet up... can't remember who but someone was wanting to do bristol and london meets so lets make london another date

so, london girls suggest a couple of dates

no1putsantaupthechimney · 17/12/2008 14:46

ts hope your dd is ok today.

ann lol sleepy whacking
sympathy on lack of sleep.
DD and DS gave in to sleep at Midnight
I got in bed and had one either side dd gave in at 12.15 and ds at 12.30am.
Then DD woke at 4.15 and didnt settle for ages. Ds woke at 4.30 I tried to feed but he was getting very frustrated as if I was empty. Took a very long time till I felt the 'let down' very strange as its usually straight away.
DD was not happy that I had my back to her feeding ds, so I had to bend one arm back to her which she kept squeezing hugging.

Sometimes it would be great to divide myself

Been to nephews xmas concert this am it was lovely, I get very emotional, and know I will be a wreck when I go to my dcS.

vg glad you had a good night, even though it was only tonic.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 17/12/2008 14:50

sambo enjoy waterbabies I loved it

miamla OOH I would love to do both meet ups.

poppy I too cant wait to see dd face xmas morning. She will be more aware this year.
She enjoyed ripping the paper off the gifts last year and playing with packaging etc...

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 17/12/2008 14:52

thanks everyone. dd1 up at the crack of dawn.
me: "we don't have to get up so go back to bed."
dd1:

we are all watching charlie brown's christmas now following breakfast. yes, even reese had breakfast...oatmeal. yum yum. this girl LOVES to eat. is it okay to give a little juice yet? like apple or pear?

dd1 has dentist visit today. thankfully she loves going. then we have to head off to the post office to drop more christmas cards. i'd also like to take dd1 shopping for a few gifts that she can give to her sister and friend and daddy-o.

new hairdo scheduled for saturday. any suggestions?

ann you should have shoved dp over or just dip his hand in warm water causing him to have to get up and go pee. you need your sleep!

pf thanks for the stories of other kids getting drug off stage. i know that's normal. she really did a lovely job up to the point of the meltdown. will post on facebook later.

cyteen your story made me laugh...very vivid. {{{{hugs}}}}

no1putsantaupthechimney · 17/12/2008 14:59

OOH ts I too have hair booked in for saturday (well sil coming to me)

I fancy a change but too scared.

My neighbour had her baby yeasterday. A girl 8lb 9oz. She has 2 children in Junior school so was a bit of a shocker.Cant wait to see her, will make me broody no doubt.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 17/12/2008 15:06

8lbs 9oz was reese's weight!!! congrats to your neighbor.

OMG reese just downed 8oz of formula. this after a small bowl of cereal. i'm in trouble aren't i. she's going to eat me out of house and home.

WeWishYouAMiamlaChristmas · 17/12/2008 15:12

TS, you can give juice but dilute it..alot! i think its one part juice to 10 parts water

right, that's three people wanting to do both meet ups so come on london girls, start suggesting a new date!

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 17/12/2008 15:52

I don't mind when the meetup is - I'm not doing anything. Best not a weekend though.
