Marcus is definately channeling his needs through you and it would be rude not to indulge such a beautiful wee baby

dizzyjingles · 16/12/2008 22:06

ROFL Sazz - good luck with that, she isn't known as the demolition kid for nothing you know

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 16/12/2008 22:08

Ah, i see your kind 'offer' was slightly tainted

OP posts:
dizzyjingles · 16/12/2008 22:09

too late ma ha ha ha ha ha

no1putsantaupthechimney · 16/12/2008 22:11

Thanks I now know why dd never saw 1 hv and I am glad about that.

Dh just gone to work (for a rest as he calls it)
I think I am officially on auto pilot.
May end up going to bed soon with both of them, funny how they are both wide awake and I am NOT

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 16/12/2008 22:11

Ok, just tell her i'll take her to the zoo with me tomorrow

OP posts:
dizzyjingles · 16/12/2008 22:19

Sazz, you'll have her spoilt

No1 I hope you get a good sleep, DH due in at 1am and we're going to the car auction tomorrow before he starts nightshift so I'll no doubt be subjected to a whole day of sleep deprevation tantrums - will leave it to you to decide if I'm talking about me, dh or the dc

no1putsantaupthechimney · 16/12/2008 22:21

I think Ratatouille is back.
I have not heard it for a week, but sure i did this am and just now.
every sound/creak makes me flinch.
its only because dog looking in same direction that i think its back.
Good job Rat man coming again tomorow.

dizzyjingles · 16/12/2008 22:23

oh no maybe you should send me all the christmas chocolate to make sure its kept safe

no1putsantaupthechimney · 16/12/2008 22:24

hate his shift work sometimes, hard to keep finding places to go when he is in bed.
even more annoying when he says oh stay in i wont hear you with ear plugs in

dizzyjingles · 16/12/2008 22:25

can he not sleep if you lot are in the house?
I can blow dry DD1's hair in the bedroom and Dh doesn't flinch

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 16/12/2008 22:25

Thanks for the reminder No1, think i might set some mouse traps for tomorrow as i heard pitter patter of tiny feet when feeding Emma at 5am

Fingers x'd all the DC sleep at some point tonight. Emma is still asleep having gone down at 7.15pm, wide awake with not a murmer. Have had a couple of shouts since but no waking. Very out of character

OP posts:
no1putsantaupthechimney · 16/12/2008 22:30

wow i wish dh could sleep through that. I dont mind going out most of the time, but this week with us all feeling rubbish, i drive about spend to keep out of way, and then when i get home he says 'oh you should have stayed in i cant here with plugs in.
so when i do stay in he gets up and says 'no point in going to bed as can here you all'

frustrating sometimes

no1putsantaupthechimney · 16/12/2008 22:32

poor dog, think its driving her mad. she has just gone mad sniffing at conservatory walls.

dizzyjingles · 16/12/2008 22:33

sazz will keep everything crossed for you for a good night sleep

No1 mine are quite good at understanding that daddy is asleep but it is hard sometimes and every now and then I make him get up to help me out - I try and do that rarely as I really do feel that in his line of work he can't afford to be sleep deprived

no1putsantaupthechimney · 16/12/2008 22:44

Yes I know what you mean, he certainly does need to be awake/alert doesn't he.

I have stayed in a few times but if I need loo or anything from upstairs I have to take her with me and if she sees bedroom door shut, she crys for him, so another few years and she will understand better.

dizzyjingles · 16/12/2008 22:47

have you taken her into the room to let her see that daddy is sleeping and made it more of a game to keep quiet

that seems to work with DD2 as she is such a foghogleghorn its unbelievable but if she thinks that its a game to see who can be the quietest then she quiet likes that

no1putsantaupthechimney · 16/12/2008 22:53

She doesnt get the whole quiet whisper thing yet. What sort of age do you think she will?? she is 22 months

dizzyjingles · 16/12/2008 22:55

hhmm let me see, DD2 is 2.7 so she shouldn't be too far off it? it is a shame, all they know is that there dad is there but they're not allowed to play with them

does he see her in the morning before he goes to bed? we used to tell them that daddy was away to work and they never thought to look for him in the bedroom!!

no1putsantaupthechimney · 16/12/2008 23:01

Yes he does, and she is ok when he says goodnight/goodbye and goes upstairs, its just if we need to nip upstairs for anything she gets upset (I cant darn't leave her with ds)
So I normally get ready and out to coincide with him getting in at 8.15
Cant always be bothered though IYKWIM

think my time for bed they are both crying whinging now.
night

dizzyjingles · 16/12/2008 23:02

night, hope you get a sleep of some sort

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 16/12/2008 23:04

no1 DH works from home a lot and DD1 2.1 knows (mostly) not to go into the study. We spend a lot of time saying 'Daddy working', 'On phone' and i take her in occasionally when we take him a coffee and she carries the empty mug and me the cafetiere and reiterate that he is busy. However i don't ask her to 'be quiet' as that always elicits the opposite response if i ask her to be quiet when emma is sleeping

OP posts:
dizzyjingles · 16/12/2008 23:06

DD2 has now taken to coming running through the house shouting 'qquuiieeeettttt' at the top of her lungs if Dh and I are having a laugh

its exactly in the tone that I use to shout ask them to be quiet too

no1putsantaupthechimney · 16/12/2008 23:08

lol dizzy they are so clever/quick at catching on.

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 16/12/2008 23:10

LOL dizzy, i get 'Mummy, play jigsaw peease', [sigh] 'in minute'
