thank you Sazz, I'm not really down down so I didn't want to mention it just a bit deflated if that makes sense?

TS it was me that chucked out the artificial one last year so its real from now on, I doubt I'll be going to choose it on my own next year though!

shall put up a photo of it all decorated tomorrow, can't be arsed tonight

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 14/12/2008 22:42

I have a pic of our tree and our kitchen lights but need DH to download it to the pooter [pathetic woman emoticon]

dizzy not surprising you are deflated, with everything you have dealt with your Mum, Dad's op, illness, Haloween, cupcake baking - this is probably the first time you have had 5 seconds to yourself. Be kind to yourself and blob on the sofa like a deflated one if that's what you feel like

v quick, sorry. no1 we are in lincoln, and will be on holiday in york for two weeks in jan, so not too far from you ooop north. Hope all OK

dizzyjingles · 14/12/2008 22:48

thanks Sazzles. I think in a way I've kind of just been keeping going and keeping going and keeping going and too frightened to stop and think for a minute

Dylan is now sleeping through and I'm wondering if my fatigue is more to do with depression rather than lack of sleep? I'm terrible at the moment, everytime she has a sleep I'm completely wiped after it for some reason - she'll be 19wks on Thurs so maybe time to start introducing some solids at some point?

have the christmas day deserts for 15 of us to do before blobbing out on the sofa but its definately on my to do list

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 14/12/2008 22:54

dizzy i feel exhausted too most days and Emma not going to sleep until gone 10pm is not the only cause - i drove to and from the new forest (2hrs + each way) and dealt with 2 DD's (you have three little lovelies which must be triple the effort) and it is Xmas with all the present buying, end of term, decorating, cooking stuff going on. PLEASE, PLEASE look after YOU as well as everyone else around you and don't miss out on Dylan's first Xmas coz you are too busy with 'stuff'. >

dizzyjingles · 14/12/2008 23:04

thanks you Sazzles, sorry for bleating on, was why I hadn't been posting as I didn't want to bore everyone

right, am done admiring my tree for tonight and heating has been off for a while so its cold now - off to bed for me

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 14/12/2008 23:29

Dizzy {{{{hugs}}}}}

MerrySibhmas · 14/12/2008 23:47

Dizzy {{{{{{more hugs}}}}}}}. You have had too much to deal with this year, and too little time to process it. It makes sense that stopping to take it all in is daunting.

And No1 - your poor nephew. Let us know how he gets on tomorrow.

FestiveGardenia · 15/12/2008 07:54

Dizzy I absolutely second what Sazzles said. And try not to have to carry everyone else through Christmas or you'll be just a shred by Jan 1st.

TS re your brother and his wife, did they not acknowledge Reese coming? Maybe Christmastime will give them an opportunity of getting in touch with you

No1 hope you have good news of your nephew.

Ann at your lack of sleep I feel similar today. Though left to my own devices I would record that ds sucked and sucked from 2 am to 6 am, dp pointed out that he had actually slept on his chest for and hour and he had walked him round for a bit (sorry confusion of he's there) so the reality is I have no clear picture of the night other than that it was very disturbed and I am shattered.

I have a couple of minor work things to get out of the way today but from 9am I have officially got NOTHING PLANNED for today, yum yum.

FestiveGardenia · 15/12/2008 07:55

Thanks Buckets, will let you know when it arrives.

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 15/12/2008 09:57

Morning all.
Dizzy big hugs to you. Hope you're feeling a bit better this morning.
Very tired still here. Last night little man slept till ten then woke and wouldn't go back down. He hadn't done a poo all day though so think that might have had something to do with it. When we took a pooey nappy off him at about 12.30, then he got grumpy and I gave him a feed and put him down just after one this morning. Then he woke me at 5. Lovely.
Should already have left for BF group, but am sitting in my pj's and haven't even changed Seb's nappy yet Oh dear

Buckets - is the Bumble quite a popular nappy? What do you think of it?

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 15/12/2008 10:24

Ann, Kurt is in Bumbles (not the cheaper EcoBumble version) and Size2 Bimbles and they're just exactly what I wanted - no liners needed, boosters attached securely, poppers for when he's walking and fiddling with himself! He is using the booster already in the day but he is overfeeding (and therefore overweeing) as he still takes a bottle at night (4am though this morning - pleeeeeeease be a sign of things to come.)

Forgot to say I tried him with a little baby rice last night but he just pushed it out again, was more interested in the spoon! Will try again next weekend.

NoroomattheCaveman · 15/12/2008 10:48

dizzy I'm sorry to rob weeks off you but Dylan will be 20 weeks this Thursday!! You have mislaid a week somewhere.... Hope that doesn't disorientate you at all?!

Did I mention I was going back to work on 2nd march?

O still waking up at least once per night to feed - still this is better than the 4 times per night it was!!

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 15/12/2008 11:11

Morning all, and hugs to all who had a rough night and all those who just need a hug - is there a rough night sofa? If so budge up and make room for one more

DS slept from 5 til 7.30pm (eh?) then had bath and massage and food and went down beautifully at 8.30pm. I dream fed him at 11.30 then he woke hungry at 12.30am, 3 and 6 - oh dear.Hence I'm still in my pjs, snap Ann Buckets my ds 'found' his willy about 3 days ago, so cute! I am thinking of starting on cloth nappies for night times - I'm not sure what to use - I have these pre fold things from my starter nappy kit from the council - what are these and can I use them to boost a regular eco bumble for night time? I also have a few motherease one size, would these be better for night times as they seem larger?

MerrySibhmas · 15/12/2008 11:43

Less cute Sambo when he's five and thinks twiddling it is the only way to behave during a conversation.

Up till three here with restless DD2, and DS1 with a temperature and teeth chattering ... He's off school and definitely ill as he's chosen bed over TV twice already this morning.

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 15/12/2008 11:52

oh goodness guess I have a lot to learn about child rearing!!

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 15/12/2008 14:06

Sambo - AFAIK you can use prefolds as extra boosting, but Buckets would know far more about that than I do. We use Tots FLuffles at night. And last night we used a Wonderoo, which I think DP has taken a liking to. My stash is going to increase again, as I'm going to buy a couple of pocket nappies to use on the train to Scotland. Must call nappy agent.
Buckets we used a bumble last night, and it just seemed so HUGE. Neither of us was that keen on it tbh, although it was practically dry this morning, except at the front.
Sorry, Hijacking the thread with nappy talk.

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 15/12/2008 14:09

Ooh, and here's a surprise - DP and I have been talking about number 2 already Not going to do it just yet, but it will be happening at some point. (I must be crazy)

FestiveGardenia · 15/12/2008 14:31

Hope ds feeling better Sibh.

Good for you Ann! We are not at that point yet but I think in theory I'd like to "go again". Got to get fit first, though, I couldn't bear all that extra weight on top of me now (boring and vain reason, I know). Also got to get some sleep first! Have posted on MN general looking for sleep advice. Anyone familiar with the Baby Whisperer? Book recommended.

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 15/12/2008 15:18

just sneaking on whilst feeding.

VG I have a sleep solutions book you are welcome to. I still have your addy (i think) so can post it to you by the weekend.

As for thiinking of number2 DH announce in the bath that he would like number 2 ASAP so come the end Jan we will most likely be on the ttc wagon again! [loony emoticon]

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 15/12/2008 15:30

Ann, he WILL grow into the Bumbles LOL so don't chuck 'em just yet.

Sambo, yes prefolds are great for stuffing/boosting a shaped nappy - will be lovely and fastdrying used with an Ecobumble. You can use them folded into a pad on their own in a wrap but you're likely to get poo all over the wrap.

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 15/12/2008 16:25

buckets - the Bumble is on loan from the local nappy agent (who also runs the local cloth nappy network) as some of my Teddies are faulty, so she's lent us a few nappies to tide us over while I send the faulty ones back and wait for replacements.

Anyone who was up for a London meetup - was a date decided? I know there was talk of doing January 13th, was that decided on?

no1putsantaupthechimney · 15/12/2008 16:34

dizzy {{hugs}} I hope you are feeling a little better today, although I knnow one night wontmake everyting rosy IYKWIM.
Can I join on the sofa, ough night here too. Ds slept well, dd didnt. I finally got some sleep at 3.30am (as dh brought her in our bed) But got up with her again at 6.

However managed to do 2 soft play centres today
Forgot I had arranged to meet someone this morning at one, and then was invited to another one this afternoon.
I managed some xmas shopping in between so dd napped in pram.

I am now at sisters on mn looking after dniece and dnephew.
Dsis still at hospita, he has had an ultra sound scan, but waiting for results and doctor.

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 15/12/2008 16:36

Hello all, sorry to hear of broken nights all round. Joe is not doing too badly, although has taken a liking to 4am poos , but that still didn't stop me from going back to bed with him this morning and napping till 11.15

Been on the phone to NHS Direct this afternoon as he's has two pooey nappies with streaks of blood in them - both this afternoon, one after the other. He seems fine in himself (currently wriggling on the floor in front of the snooker and singing to himself ) but has been pooing LOADS the last few days - like, the normal amount he would do in one go, but spread out over five or six nappies. I'm wondering if the blood is a result of irritation or similar? Has anyone else experienced this with their LOs? It really is a tiny amount, bright red, mixed in with the mucus.

Going to keep a close eye on him anyway, and straight down the doctor's if it continues/gets worse.
