lovely children Sibh

sambo i lol'd as well at your "thought you'd want to know" - of course we want to know, we're mums of babies! i never thought i'd see the day when i'd be emailing DP daily updates on Joe's bowel movements, or he the day he'd look forward to it.

no1 gutting to lose the ebm, but at least it came off the back of a decent night's sleep. Joe was a little angel last night - down at 8.30pm without a whimper - woke at 4am what a gorgeous boy to treat his parents so.

how's everyone spending their saturday then? it's pissing down here so we're sorting out stuff for a big clear out (need to make room for the christmas tide of new stuff).

no1putsantaupthechimney · 13/12/2008 12:49

I am about to put the tree up, dh is getting everything down and being a big grinch, as he thinks dd will just pull it down.

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 13/12/2008 13:36

Well today got off to a perfect start - DD slept until 9!!!!! then it all started downhill.....

DH is pissy as he has caught the lurgy from us girls. He can't cope with the mess and is increasingly tetchy about it, I moved a box in he tripped over it - cue flaring tempers and DD and I storming out. Got outsideand realised I had nowhere to go! So we went to costa for coffee and got back to an empty house - in both senses - dh hasobviosly packed his van and taken all the boxes to the new house. I started to pack up the food and now DD is feeding so I can't do packing .

anyone for apeanut butter sandwich? mince pie?(made them last night - first batch of the year)

no1putsantaupthechimney · 13/12/2008 15:36

oops 9am thats amazing.

They say moving is stressful don't they?

Hope you enjoyed the coffee and the chance to cool down.

well tree is up looks like a dogs dinner.

I like to coordinate colours, so our lounge had a panel of colour above fire place which was aubergine/purple ish. So all tree decorations were silver and purple.

we have since decorated and the panel is now and olive green colour and also have a wall that is papered in different colour greens and browns. oh no the trimmings are the wrong colour. I do noty know how I will sleep tonight .

Dh couldn't care a shit, says it does not matter, but it so does.......

ok I know I have problems, I am going tro search for decorations and change them this week when he is on nights and see if he notices.

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 13/12/2008 16:47

I think purple and olive sounds quite nice actually! My hall is cream with purple and dark green 'stuff', one day I will get decorations to match. Ours are left over from our old house so they are completely random - means it doesn't matter how awful the kids' handmade stuff is.

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 13/12/2008 16:48

But agree, you do need gold not silver. Get yourself to the shops now or hang your head in shame!

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 13/12/2008 17:23

Evening! Just logging on before 'Hole in the Wall' . Had a nice time with the IL's who fussed over DD1 and took her for a walk in the morning so i could have a lie in....bliss. However DH has since contracted death by stomach so i was left to drive home, deal with DD's etc. I also have a VERY sore left boob, not swollen or hot, just feels internally bruised - any ideas ladies - should i feed off it, express, massage (v painful)?

Sorry to hear of unsettled babes - Emma finally went to sleep at 1.30am on Thurs night having been put down at 7pm. Thankfully last night was better so fingers x'd for tonight

Re: London meet - i will be up for this too, provided it's not on the 13th as sadly i can't spilt myself in 2

No1 LOL at not sleeping tonight with the trauma of non matching fripperies and sibh your DS is SO funny, you must keep a record of some of his sayings (and then hand them to the best man when he gets married

OP posts:
BucketsofReindeerPoo · 13/12/2008 18:08

Bruise sounds like a blocked duct, feeding is best as they suck harder than a pump. I found I could massage easiest while lying down to feed as the boob had the bed on the other side to hold it in place!

FestiveGardenia · 13/12/2008 19:29

Deffo duct and deffo feed, massage - gently obv if agony - and the hot baths and so on from the early days.

Am I being thick what do you mean gifted paypal?

No1 I admire even aspirations to a co-ordinated tree, ours is any heap of old sparkly junk lol.

In haste.

MerrySibhmas · 13/12/2008 20:07

Thanks for all the kind comments about the DCs. It's nice to know DS brought smiles to the Gardenia breakfast table.

Sazzles - The best man (for marriage or civil partnership purposes ) is exactly the destination for my collection of DS's sayings. Why do I think he might choose the one where DS shouted out of a hotel window, 'Daddy, Daddy, I've got testicles?'

Our tree looks very questionable too, but it was lovely this year to have DS really enjoying it because he remembers it properly from last year and DD wandering about, crashing into stuff shouting 'happy birthday' at everyone. DD2 is very alarmed by the tree ... Goodness knows what she would make of a tree clashing with interior design choices No1-maybe you could wheel the new baubles home in a tastefully co-ordinated pram?

I hope the blocked duct eases Sazzles. Not very nice at all ...

I'm feeling v. festive after putting the tree up so can I decorate the thread a litle?:

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 13/12/2008 21:19

okay i think i've come to the end of my christmas shopping list. i've basically been done for a week but today i spent time getting a few odds and ends. i opted for shipping baked goods to a few distant relatives. the link here shows a lady holding three of the black magic cakes i ordered for two of my uncles and my brother (who hasn't spoken to me in 5 months). waivered on whether to get my brother & his family ANYTHING. i know for a fact he LOVES this cake so i'm guessing whether he likes me any more or not at least he'll enjoy the cake and so will the kids. everything else is now nicely wrapped under the tree where dd1 is studying each package for her name.

sazzles, i hope the sore boob feels better now.

as for trees matching or not matching...
i feel your pains. the star at the top of ours is silver and it just seems completely out of place next to all the decorations on the tree and the my home decor. can't remember when we got the star and i've looked everywhere for a new one. can't seem to find just the perfect one so i'll just live with this one for a little bit longer.

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 13/12/2008 21:24

VG _ gifted paypal means you pay the charges - when you go to pay there is a little boxwhich askes what payment is for - purchased goods or private - gift, owed funds etc.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 13/12/2008 21:28

link didn't work....click dessert favorites to see the cakes

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 13/12/2008 21:47

mmm, did someone mention mince pies earlier? I've eaten 303 already, one more wont hurt!

Poor DS was up again at 2am last night screaming, pulling his little legs up so I guess it was his tummy. Eventually got him to feed and he fell asleep after 5 mins and we were in bed by 3am. Then he slept til 9 so I got...6 hours sleep in a row. Felt great as that's the most sleep I've had in one go in 3 months so despite the terrible night alls well .

DP and Oz friend out at a gig so I've gorged on Strictly and X factor tonight

Sazzles hope boob recovered, I was just thinking the other day I'd not had a blocked duct in a while, and thought they just affect you early on in bf. Seems they can strike at any time.

Well done to everyone who has an xmas tree/decorations up. I haven't even thought about decorations yet. Not sure I can summon the energy to root about in the loft

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 13/12/2008 22:16

thanks for your suggestions - i have had a hot bath (with contortionist positions to get boob submerged under water ). The benefit of emma's nocturnal shenanigans is that she has fed all evening so although a bit tender it does feel better. she has finally crashed out on me, although when we transfer her to her cot, who knows?

sambo - snap on the tree/decs, none here. turkey not even ordered, although i do have a waitrose delivery coming on the 19th so that's something

OP posts:
TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 13/12/2008 23:09

turkey
CRAP! I've got company coming Christmas Day and the day after.....I guess they expect to eat. DANG IT!!

FestiveGardenia · 13/12/2008 23:23

Sazz - lie on your tummy in bath and let boob hang free. Is odd bliss.

Ta oops!

TS Why no brotherly love?

dingdongmerrilyfromhome · 14/12/2008 11:46

Morning all!

Tickets booked for Bristol, we will be around all day.

Yum, mincepies.

Already been to church today but missed the santa race as on the phone to DH.

DS has had his first snow and first train ride, how cool.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 14/12/2008 13:52

VG, brotherly love went out the window just a week or so before Reese arrived. Since HE & I weren't fighting BUT his wife & I were at odds, my guess is HE WAS MADE TO CHOOSE. He didn't disconnect from me on FB so he's staying connected without "being" connected. SIL recently set up a FB page so as to keep an EYE on him ME THINKS. I don't want to spoil this pretty holiday thread with gloom and doom about her. But I am secretly hoping she's allergic to the cake I've sent them.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 14/12/2008 14:42

Just spent the last hour on the phone with my Great Aunt. She turns 83 today. Her sister, my other Great Aunt (obviously), turns 72. I LOVE my family!!

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 14/12/2008 15:55

Okay I just connected with a friend from highschool and she's in London now. I'm just curious to see if any of you know her. Her name is Libby on my FB page. Total shot in the dark but you never know... this world is getting smaller and smaller.

I just love it when I'm out here on the thread all alone.....................

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 14/12/2008 15:58

BOO!!!!!!!
You are not alone

Who said that?

OP posts:
BucketsofReindeerPoo · 14/12/2008 16:15

Ooh I seem to be back in crazy hormone land again with the arrival of AF. Last night I went to bed scrunched up tiny in my dressing gown with my hands over my ears and duvet over my head, feeling like a ball of fury. No idea why! Was getting annoyed by noise but when I stomped down to yell at DH he was quietly on the phone to his brother and it was next door's teenager having a little party (he is so square it was really not that noisy LOL.) I never get annoyed by noise but I was just so cold and cross and it was driving me mad, I had to take some Kalms for the first time in my life. Think I need to invest in some proper full length PJs and bed socks (and obv therefore kiss goodbye to sexlife).

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 14/12/2008 17:13

Hurrah....progress!

Turkey ordered, tree up & decorated, lights up in dining room & kitchen, mistletoe up, reindeer in garden and DH making Xmas Puddings with Emma watching

Just the dreaded cards on the urgent list but i think i will wait until at least DD1 is in bed as i tried starting before and she ran off with the envelopes

buckets bed socks & a hot water bottle are my best friends

no1putsantaupthechimney · 14/12/2008 17:49

hi all. quick hello before mad bath and bed routine.
had to take my sis and her ds(4) to hospital today.
he had been complaining of being sore and weeing hiimself
dsis just thought he was being lazy and leaving going to toilet till last minute, hence all the 'accidents'
Well he had blood in his wee today, so she took him to emergency doc who said he was worried as he had very high temp, and on examining him there was blood.
She still at hospital awaiting blood results. I am still waiting to here. poor liitle mite he looked so pale, but never said a word.

sorry that was quite a doom and gloom post.
