Evening All
VG - I will do my bestest to be there (only plagues and sick DD will keep me away)

DD is doing the up in bed thingie quiet well now - she seems to know that it is bed time when we take her up and get her dressed in her grobag, Start her songs, get boobies out, feed whilst singing songs (same ones same order every night)then put her into her moses basket sometimes fully awake, sometimes half awake. If she yells - I know there is something actually wrong.

DD's baptism sorted for 1st March.

No1 - try virgin trains - they don't actually go to bristol but you can book cheap fares through their website.

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 12/12/2008 21:07

she goes quite well but is also quiet!

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 21:30

we re back down stairs - he;'s really screamingas soon as i put him in bed

MerrySibhmas · 12/12/2008 21:34

Sambo, do you have any karvol drops - the menthol in them might help. You could elevate his mattress at the top aswell and a few minutes standing in the bathroom with the shower on and the window open might ease his breathing a bit.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 12/12/2008 22:06

hi

sick babies {{{hugs}}}
bouncey seat sleeps: keeps them upright and cozy
that's my two cents

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 22:06

tried the shower, still screaming whenever I put him down

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 12/12/2008 22:07

Felix hasn't developed an earache has he?

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 22:20

right, he's in his bouncy seat on vibrate and he's cooing and looking around and quiet! Eh?

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 12/12/2008 22:21

YEAH!!

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 22:27

thanks TS - even if it doesnt last, at least I get 5 mins peace. Was beginning to lose my rag. I'm not used to a screaming baby. DP on his way home now. phew

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 22:47

started screaming after my 5 mins, took him upstairs, changed his nappy - it was dry cos he's not fed since 6pm (unusual) then more screaming like it was the end of the world. Now he's quiet - back in his chair on vibrate. No idea what's wrong with him. Hope dp hurries up before the screaming starts again. Was hoping for an early night too

MerrySibhmas · 12/12/2008 23:01

Glad to hear Felix is feeling a bit calmer Sambo - it is awful when they don't feel well and they are this small. A small bit of rag loss by either or both of you is perfectly understandable. Hopefully, the rest in the chair will help Felix to get his breath back, the poor fellow.

DS had his annual bout of mysterious joint pain today and got sent home from school-he gets this every time he has a severe cold and can't walk for a spell (a couple of ten minute episodes today but days at a stretch before now). We got bloods and a full hospital workup done on him when it first happened (a sentence which owes much to Grey's anatomy ) and the only thing they could offer was an IQ test because of the way DS had answered all of their questions.
Is there a statute of limitations on worrying about your children?

DD2 got included in a game for the first time properly today when DS threw a muslin over the top of her playmat and gave her instructions about what to do if a lion came into her jungle camp. When DD1 said there were no lions about, DS replied, 'Well maybe if you actually bothered looking you'd see there are 64 over there.' I must remember to be less crotchety tomorrow.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 12/12/2008 23:09

Sibh your ds has a wonderful imagination.

Sambo i'm still thinking earache OR belly ache to which i would say lay him on his belly across your legs while you are seated and rub his back.

MerrySibhmas · 12/12/2008 23:15

DS is quite fabulously nuts TS

The vibrating chair might suggest it's a tummy thing- would he stop crying if it was an ear thing? Dizzy's suggestion about massaging from the bottom left of the tummy in an upturned U really helped when DD2 was uncomfortable last week.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 12/12/2008 23:30

ear thing answer is he might. ear issue can be tricky but if he's had any sinusy things going on then it's not a bad thing to get it checked. those little tubes can get icky.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 12/12/2008 23:31

reese seems to be having tummy trouble tonight. i'm holding her now waiting for her to finally poop.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 12/12/2008 23:40

poop complete.
soy formula poops are very different.
guess they will just take getting use to.

i'll give it six more days.....

MerrySibhmas · 13/12/2008 00:47

I've been kept awake by DD1's hacking cough, and I think I've finally managed to post some pics of the children, inspired by that fab pic of Joe ..

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 13/12/2008 00:49

strange loud smelly fart at 12.30am then peace reigned... thought you'd want to know!

just expressed 150mls from poor right boob, now off to bed

dp drunk but did a good job despite that

MerrySibhmas · 13/12/2008 00:52

Sambo that first line is one of those things you would never have dreamt of typing before having children. It's a rite of passage ..

Have a good night's sleep.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 13/12/2008 01:21

LOL glad it all came out all right Sambo.

Sibh I love love LOVE Santa Baby. Beautiful dcs!!!

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 13/12/2008 07:28

Morning all, kettle's on, pains au raisin dans le cooker, asseyez vous.
Managed NOT to feed Kurt til 6am, not that he slept through though.Am spending this time researching facepainting designs for Xmas party today - there are advantages to keeping your computer in the nursery. Am worrying about my minicakes as the paper cases were really hard to get off when I tried some - overdone I think. Oh well, I just won't get asked to make them next year.

VG Yep, still got calendars, weekly or monthly versions, £9 inc p&p, profits towards training BF counsellors. Gifted Paypal to lollipop at southamptonnappies dot com.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 13/12/2008 07:53

FestiveGardenia · 13/12/2008 10:52

Oh no1 what horrible shame! God, I have done that and it's just awful.

Sibh I rarely show dp anything on MN but I showed him your para about your ds and dd and the 64 lions and we couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces through the whole of breakfast.

sambo glad Felix relaxed.
