sambo, cocktails for lunch sounds like a great but somewhat dangerous idea!! no, haven't heard of them though if we keep off the cocktails i reckon that'd be a good place

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 12/12/2008 11:28

cyteen lol at pic of Joe

Oh btw everyone, dd did a classic the other day, dh came home briefly (now gone again) and did some work in the house for a morning. I took dcs to school and dd said 'Have a nice time in our house dad ) I think she thinks he has moved out... I had to raise a smile for that one

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 12:31

miamla yes, strange concept, but would be accomodating to babies and buggies - food is quite good too

had a glass of wine last Sat and felt ill for about 1 hour - so I think I'll stick to my usual drink of choice - eau de tap

WeWishYouAMiamlaChristmas · 12/12/2008 12:40

i'm with you on the eau de tap! i had half a glass and felt as rough as a badger's bottom the next day!

pf, what was your dh's reaction?!

WeWishYouAMiamlaChristmas · 12/12/2008 12:41

half a glass of wine not tap water. i can drink pints of water without feeling like a badger's bottom!

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 12/12/2008 12:47

Hiya, quick check in, will catch up later.

Sambo, bras in post today, should be with you Monday.

TS I saw a hilarious US show on tv the other day that I reckon you would love. It's called The Doctors and has soap-opera-good-looking doctors chatting, minor procedures live and nodding in a concerned, caring way at very shallow pretend debates. I am hooked!

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 12/12/2008 13:21

miamla
dh just laughed - he already knows what the issues are - that was just another prod to his conscience!

FestiveGardenia · 12/12/2008 13:36

Sounds very funny, Buckets, does it star Joey from Friends???

Please don't all pull out of meetup! I have booked a ticket . F it, should have left till after Christmas.

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 12/12/2008 13:48

I'm not pulling out VG! So there will be two of us at least

FestiveGardenia · 12/12/2008 14:09

Phew! So I can dance with a reindeer at least!

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 12/12/2008 14:17

Pass me the paracetamol btw - I've had dds friend Meggy here this afternoon. Two three year old girls is harder than I thought

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 12/12/2008 14:20

I'll be there VG, will book my tickets now that you have (was unkindly waiting for you to make your larger investment first!)

The Doctors show is real though, that's what's so funny! They all got cheered as they walk on stage waving and the girl one is of course beautiful with long hair, dangly earrings and heels.

FestiveGardenia · 12/12/2008 14:25

LOL Buckets yes I would have thought I was the person most likely to pull out, too!! But have done the deed, my ticket was only 1euro each way but ds's was 20.

pf you need something a teensy bit stronger than paracetamol I think. I even find it stressful to have another 10yo over, and they just stay outside playing football all day!

In a flurry of extravagance I bought the M&S dinner for two deal thing (to be split three ways tonight & eked out with salad!). AIBU to eat the toffee pudding now and pretend it came without?

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 12/12/2008 14:58

Yes you may be right VG, my enthusiasm to do anything has been sapped right out.. dd is lolling in front of Charlie and Lola atm and I have no inclination to stop her - other than the fact that we have to go and fetch ds1 in a minute

Roll on the end of the day..... and pass the gin

WeWishYouAMiamlaChristmas · 12/12/2008 15:39

vg, your reply to any questions re dessert tonight is simply "what toffee pudding?"

NB be sure to dispose of all the evidence properly though. your neighbour's bin would be perfect

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 12/12/2008 15:49

VG YANBU, cost of effort, thought, energy and time spent foraging for a special Friday eve meal = 1 toffee pud

Speaking of carb craving, I've got my AF already . I am sooooooo in tune with my bah-day, I just knew it was about to happen, must find my mooncup. I also desperately needed excuse for being scratchy and unkind to DH at the weekend, so phew - he even asked about period at the time because he said I was so out of character.

We have just inherited a Sky+ box off BIL, wondering if this will be addictive. Tonight, DH tells me, we are watching 5 episodes of Strutter (Paul Kay being foulmouthed) back to back that BIL left on there.

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 15:59

Buckets thanks for bra

I purchased a mooncup today - no need yet to use it but I feel very green now

VG if my experience of M&S meals is anything to go by, you'll need to eat that pud to yourself to feel full - split 3 ways

WeWishYouAMiamlaChristmas · 12/12/2008 16:04

buckets, you had kurt a few days after DS was born... does that mean AF will be visiting me soon? (i have no idea how this works!)

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 12/12/2008 17:24

Nah, think I started ovulating when I went up to 2 bottles of formula a day so if you're 100% BF theoretically you should be spotless and fancy-free LOL.

I have been baking like crazy for NCT Xmas party tomorrow: 4 platters of sandwiches, 75 mini cakes and a tray of chocolate Wall-e cubes.

FestiveGardenia · 12/12/2008 17:35

Ha! Knew I was NBU.

Party food sounds fab.

I am still only bf and got period back ages ago so beware!

AliEight is in this week's round up! Honestly, between fecking baking awards and funny stories, this thread is well represented!

no1putsantaupthechimney · 12/12/2008 17:47

hi all.
vg i am not backing out, i am determined to book my ticket asap.
I just vneed to have another good look i found a return for £34 but cant find it now.

Could do with knowing what time people arriving and leaving so i know what train times to go for.

FestiveGardenia · 12/12/2008 19:02

Hey if anyone needs to back out do! I just don't want to be in Bristol on my ownio!

I'm there from early morning, flight home 3.30 so I suppose apt about 2.30, minus travel time from town.

I am going to do the back-in-cot routine tonight. Must, must, must.

Have a christening tomorrow (not ours - have arranged for 1st Feb though). Would much rather sit in bath reading all day with some of pf's gin.

Buckets was it you with the Organised Mum calendars? Where you flogging em?

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 12/12/2008 19:47

Buckets I looked up that show and it comes on at 10am everyday here.....when I'm out. I might DVR-it and see what it's all about.

Hope everyone gets their meet up plans set. VG I know Sazzles will be there to meet you too....so don't worry.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 12/12/2008 20:19

festiveG what time you gettting there??

I am starting the whole upstairs in bed routine next week, as he is still down here with us till we go to bed, but is now getting disturbed.

I have booked christening for 15th feb

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 21:02

No1 my upstairs to bed at 7 'routine' such as it was has gone to pot these last 2 weeks. ds currently on my lap - was sobbing uncontrollably I think due to horrible cold he is displaying symptoms of - sneezing lots. Seems only able to breathe in an upright position poor lamb.

thankfully dp is out at his works xmas boozeup meal otherwise I'd have to be firm about keeping him upstairs after 7. It's lovely having a little pal to keep one company. oh oh, he's yawning, will have another go at bed
