Argh. Earlier headache turned into full blown migraine. Haven't had one in ages. MIL cam round with some Paracetamol straight away (love my MIL) and looked after Seb so I could hide from the light under the duvet. Seems to have improved some now.

NO1 - I also have some Fluffles. Use them as night nappies mainly. Also got them cheap as they've been discontinued in favour of the flexitot. If you like the feel of them though, you should try Bambinex teddies - Same feel, slightly less bulky and also dry in a jiffy. Speaking of which - I must get my nappies out the machine to dry or he'll have no nappies to wear tomorrow.

Those of you who are up for a London meet - roughly when would be good? SHould we try set a month first and then work out which particular date? I've got nothing going on realy, so I don't mind when - let me know ladies! [grn]

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 11/12/2008 21:03

God scuse the typos - still not feeling quite 100%

no1putsantaupthechimney · 11/12/2008 21:07

Ann I have bought them for night use, still desperate to get my hand son some teddies.
The fluffles do look quite bulky. I got them from tk maxx pack of 5 for £24.99.

pertelote Marcus was grumpy for few days then has come down with cold and cough that me and dd have got. he has just woke up all stuffy and tearful.Just gave some neurofen. He sat grinning at me now.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 11/12/2008 21:09

i feel for you with Migraine i suffer too. Not had one for a while, but have tried shit loads of medication, had several brain scans and seen a neuro surgeon too.

pertelote · 11/12/2008 21:19

Big sympathy to migraine sufferers. I don't get them but my headaches lay me out so I really feel for you. Brilliant MIL to do mercy dash though! Must try that on mine sometime

Is anyone wanting to go to both meetups, bristol and london, or is it feasible to do them on the same day? Mid Jan certainly sounds good to me...

Thanks No1, that could be it. Will stand by with the calpol!

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 11/12/2008 21:23

Eurgh, major sympathies re. migraines. I've had one proper fullblown episode and it was so frightening.

New pics of DS on my profile if anyone wants a laugh

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 11/12/2008 21:24

No1 - not sure I've ever had them THAT badly. Started getting them when I used to drink too much coffee. Now I just get them every so often. Haven't had one in ages.
If you want teddiew - try babykind.co.uk that's where I got mine from

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 11/12/2008 21:26

{{{twilight raises hand}}}
headache after headache here lately. not gotten spots in my vision so hopefully will steer clear of the big M. thought it was hydration but think it's really just hormonal crap.

just opened up my tax program and keyed reese's information. it will be a few more weeks before all our tax papers are in hand. I CAN'T WAIT!!! i love doing our taxes because we pay in way more than we should so we score a big check in february. i consider that MY PAYMENT FOR SERVICES RENDERED. it's my project money stash...the BIG infusion. oooo i'm excited just thinking about it. reese's birth will cause the amount to go up thus scoring us a new roof. lol just for the record i did not have a baby so i could pay for a new roof.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 11/12/2008 21:33

lol ts you could buy another wrap

I too get the aura flashing blurred and sometimes loss of vision and vomiting. so I know I have a few minutes to sort myself out before pain kicks in.
Once has a real bad one I phoned for ambulanvce because I was so scared thought I was dying ( I realize this may sound very dramatic) But it was awful.
I got to hospital, they gave me injection in one butt cheek for pain, 1 in other butt cheek to stop me from being sick. Nothing worked so they came round with something white, bullet shaped and a blop of ky jelly

will leave the rest to your imaination....

no1putsantaupthechimney · 11/12/2008 21:37

god spelling/grammer getting worse

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 11/12/2008 21:43

sympathy to headache sufferers and esp migraine sufferers (I've suffered from migraines since I was a baby, and no, half a junior disprin does not work mother!). I reduced the number of occurances and frequency by eating every three hours or thereabouts, and drinking at least 2 litres of water per day.

Well, the carpet's down, and we've moved into our bedroom. It has a lovely peaceful vibe as planned. I wish it was more like a hotel bedroom though TS, ie with room service and laundry services

no1putsantaupthechimney · 11/12/2008 21:54

sambo it sounds lovely.
Are you going to bristol meetup?

AliEightMaidsAMilking · 11/12/2008 22:13

hello all,

V quick as need to pack bags for weekend at my parents...London meet-up sounds fab! January would be best for me as am going to be back at work full-time from the beginning of February

Sympathies to all migraine sufferers - I used to ge tthem fairly regularly, but haven't had a single one since being pregnant...hope that continues as they were not fun.

Right, must dash - good night all, and sleepy anti-snuffly vibes to all babies

poppystocking · 11/12/2008 22:27

More huge synpathy for headache & migraine sufferers. I'm one too. . Suffered in a big way when pg with DD1, but only one while pg with DD2 and only one day of a stonking headache, when DH thankfully managed to 'work from home' since her arrival. They were particularly dreadful with each of my first 5 or 6 periods after having DD1. Still waiting for that to kick in this time, but really not looking forward to it...

LOL re: your taxes TS. I'm dreadful with anything that is a. financial and b. administrative. Major reason that I remain employed by a large company is so that I NEVER have to worry about tax returns (and don't have enough money from other sources, before all the accountants on this thread notice ).

VG - Thanks for the thought. Work's not until next month - day before the the Bristol meet-up . The meet-up that I can't make .

Right, off to bed now. Few hours sleep then hoping to get the girls out of bed without them noticing and into the car to drive them south. Not sure when I'll catch up with you all again, but hope colds and coughs go/stay away and there is a lot of sleep across the thread.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 12/12/2008 00:14

well folks dd1 may be crushed in the morning. we are under a winter weather advisory for SNOW/ICE until late tomorrow morning. any ice or snow in our area typically closes schools. her class christmas party is scheduled for tomorrow. she is NOT going to be a happy camper in the morning.

poppy & ali have a safe trips.

cyteen, i imagine Joseph whispering
h e l p save me

that reminded me......

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 12/12/2008 00:25

I almost forgot...

Check out how much my oldest LOVES Santa. See her pictures on my profile page.

WeWishYouAMiamlaChristmas · 12/12/2008 08:50

morning all, DS has forgotten how to sleep again [yawn]

TS, those photos of dd1 are brilliant!

i think i'm going to make the sensible decision to not go to bristol so put me down for the london one. Right, lets start the date conversation.. what about 13th Jan? i reckon that sounds like a good time for an MN meetup

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 09:08

aw TS those photos are a beaut! Wonderful. Has she come round any this year?

RE bristol meet up, it may be too much of a mission - ahem, Chessington to Paddington at rush hour with buggy (on tube?!) which would be around 1.5hours then train to Temple Meads and return journey would also be at rush hour . May be more sensible to do the London meet up - is this meet up fact or fiction? Failing that, my dp hails from Thornaby on Tees and we are planning a trip up to see family in the NY - may coincide with the mooted Yorkshire meetup

no1putsantaupthechimney · 12/12/2008 09:12

Yeah sambo do a yorkshire meetup

My dh thinks I am mad thinking about doing bristol meetup as its just under3 hours there and 3 hours back on train.
God knows how long to drive there.

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 09:13

miamla x post, we are thinking alike! can do 13th jan

ds also changing sleep patterns - woke at 2am , hungry (after 110mls at 11pm!) and woke again whilst still dark, dont know what time but this time I bounced his hammock and he went back to sleep. that is a first

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 09:15

dunno what it means though

no1putsantaupthechimney · 12/12/2008 09:15

awww ts poor dd.

How much does the 1st santa look like real santa iykwim

I have been thinking of showing dd lots of pictures of santa before her xmas party at toddler group next week.
I am thinking she is not going to be happy going anywhere near a stranger in Red.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 12/12/2008 09:18

sambo ds sleep patterns have settled back down to one wake up again (4 .15am ish)
However he stirred at 4.00am and I just put his muslin in his hand and he slept till 6am
that was a first too.

WeWishYouAMiamlaChristmas · 12/12/2008 09:52

{fenvy] re sleeping babies!! theo has never done less than a million wake ups! well that's how its feeling at the moment!

i think us london lot will be a little less jealous of the fun happening in bristol if we do it on the same day. and also, i think the laptop link idea is a great one!

where do we think for a location? i'm guessing somewhere central?

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 12/12/2008 10:10

miamla have you heard of Giraffe? baby/child friendly cafe type thing that sells cocktails - there's a few in London: Southbank, Islington, Marylebone etc
