morning.
Lol sambo mmmm love all the breakfast offerings. I will have a bit of everything if you dont mind

Off to toddler group so only quick.

I am determined to book my train ticket to bristol when I get a spare minute today.

Love that wallpaper btw

Lots of poison been left for Ratatouille (sp?)
So wont know if it dead till RAT MAN comes back.
He said they go off to the nest to die which could take about 5 days so lets hope it hasnt nested in the walls as we will be left with an awful smell.

However he looked next door and found 2 Rats nests under both their sheds
also a little mound with a cross where the kids put their dead hamster. Rat man said it is not there now, the Rat has eaten it

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 11/12/2008 09:01

rats and mice - eurgh!

FestiveGardenia · 11/12/2008 09:23

groggy groggy groggy

ds had a tiny cough this morning. I am too miserable to turn on the heating except for 2 hours in am 5-7 and 2 hours in pm 5-7 and it's freezing here, I hope he is not too cold in bed.

mmm brekker goodies. I am going to work Christmas party tonight, is a bit weird to be thinking of work! is just dinner and KrisKindle so quite simple and there will be no bottom photocopying / snogging Albert from accounts etc. I might be tempted to have a little word with my boss but probably better not .

poppy when is your work day, is that today?

no1 for your rat story and at desecration of hamster grave too.

good luck with dentist oopsy

OhLittleBitShyOfBethlehem · 11/12/2008 09:44

Morning.

new room sounds good sambo

i slept on a tiny edge of the bed last night as we had d din with us form 3 - poor mite still feels rotten (in her words). On the plus side ds didn't wake up (mostly doesn't but decides on occasional parties on odd nights) and bringing dd into us menat we all slept better.

Still about Bristol. we do have friends there but i don't think i could justify a mid week jolly - not sure dh and work and dd and school would mix v well...

MerrySibhmas · 11/12/2008 11:08

We had a rough night too Albs.
DD1 had an attack of croup again, and although she's a lot better able to cope than last year, it is vile.
Thanks Buckets for mentioning the outbreath bit about it the other day, it meant I got what it was immediately.
The only saving graces are 1) While still rasping she threw her arms around me and said 'Thank you Mommy, you are the greatest.'
2) I have two sleeping children at the moment and can clean the house.

Cleaning, typing, cleaning, typing. V. difficult to distinguish between the two activities don't you think.

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 11/12/2008 11:12

morning ladies

oops i too will have everything on the breakfast menu plz - have only managed one cup of tea, a pear and a handful of pistachio nuts in between entertaining wakeful DS. after tuesday's lovely long kip we were back to three times a night wake-ups last night think he may have been too hot/thirsty as we forgot to put the heating back on timer so it was roasting (((our fuel bills))). changed a very wet nappy at 5am and DS decided it was time to party - lots of supercute cooing, arm-waving and wriggling. i felt quite bad about the fact that we had to ignore it and encourage him back to sleep, but i don't want him getting the idea that 5am is when the day starts

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 11/12/2008 11:52

Morning all. Well late night here, as DP got back after 12.30. He was a bit bummed because all the others went on from the restaurant to a bash Peter Jones was throwing, and the other Dragons were all going to be there. But he didn't want to end up stranded in London for the night.

ALBS I would love to do a London meetup - so if you're up for it, I'll do it! Anyone else for a London meetup? I just can't do Bristol, would have to travel into london then get train to Bristol. Never going to happen sadly.

Cyteen that is so hard. I had that acouple of weeks back at 4AM. He just wanted to play and smile and coo at me. I just wantd to go back to sleep.

OhLittleBitShyOfBethlehem · 11/12/2008 12:16

ann let's set a date and see who can join us....

NoroomattheCaveman · 11/12/2008 12:23

I might be able to manage London! Could tie it in with visiting my oldest friend too.

Another cooing in the middle of the night baby here too - he was awake for an hour last night, during which time he cooed and babbled as LOUDLY as he could manage, AND did 2 poos. ON the plus side, since feeding him an extra meal at teatime he only woke twice to be fed. ONLY. Jeez I'm easily pleased!

I've been in to work this morning to sort out my return date . Eek. Going back on 2nd March. Double eek.

Re tommee tippeeeeee teats - he will entertain them but just won't drink the milk!

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 11/12/2008 12:56

i could do a london meet-up as well bristol is just too hard to reach from here, as i am (still) a non-driver.

ha ha , i forgot about Tommeeeeee Tippeeeeeee, i hate it as well, so tweeeeeee. although good quality merchandise, i'm sure.

just been playing ABBA Gold to DS - he looked quite nonplussed DP reckons he'll grow up pure metal.

now i should take advantage of him being asleep in the sling to pop out and post my christmas cards. one more present to get and that's me done.

OhLittleBitShyOfBethlehem · 11/12/2008 14:10

mm, my ds is another one who if he wakes in the night (he does but not many nights...) is likely to be awake for an hour or 2. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH. Luckily as it's not an every night jobby i do the feeding dh does the settling (mostly) which saves my sanity - 3am depression is the worst.

cool - at least 4 of us for London....

no1putsantaupthechimney · 11/12/2008 16:12

oops* hope dentist went ok.

Hope all poorly babies are feeling better today.
I have been at my sisters after toddler group helping her wrap her dcs gifts.
Lots and Lots

Ann hope your dp wasnt too drunk.

My dh has his works xmas do tonight.
He is leaving at 6.15pm

I too hate tommee tippee name. I use these when ds decides he wants to drink the m,ilk and not just roll teat around in his mouth

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 11/12/2008 17:33

thanks no1 - he was fine actually as he didn't get to go out drinking after the meal. He was very late for work this morning though, as he was running late to start with, and then EVERY SINGLE train into London was cancelled this on the line that's having the biggst fare rise in the country. service is crap. No idea what time he finally got to work.

Got such a headache and can't find paracetamol.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 11/12/2008 17:37

very frustrating about trains.

I have just got some bargain Tots Bots Fluffles for dd, going to try them as soon as my wraps arrive. They feel gorgeous.
The btp motherease wraps leave red marks on her legs.

SevenRottersPottering · 11/12/2008 18:08

Eek No1 about the rat, but I admit I did LOL about the hamster . Yes I'm in Wakefield, perhaps we should arrange a Yorkshire meetup too, see how scarred you are by the Bristol one! Hope you like the fluffles; I got them for DD and now DS is in them. They stay nice and soft and dry in a trice, infact you could probably put one on straight from the machine in an emergency!

Have slipped back into lurker mode a bit, been busy Christmas shopping but have it almost all done now so can relax a bit

Sambo I very much enjoyed your early morning multiple chatter!

Glad to hear too that some other of these babies are refusing to sleep through [matchstick for eyes emoticon]. I keep consoling myself with the thought that he won't be still doing it when he's 15...

no1putsantaupthechimney · 11/12/2008 19:08

lol rotterpotter I think maybe they will still worry us at 15 (when I think of what I put my mum through)
Yes it would be nice to do a yorkshire one, I would be up for that

I was amazed how nearly dry fluffles were after washing. Cant use them on dd yet, I am waiting for some new wraps.

sambo your morning chatter was very funny

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 11/12/2008 19:53

pf comes in with a little aperitif for everyone, bowls of olives, japanese rice crackers and pretzels (sorry would have been canapes but have already iced a cake and made honeycomb this evening - blardy PTA)

sambo I won't mention that Toby sleeps from 7-7 then shall I or actually slightly longer I am going to get my comeuppance - will let you know when it happens... Seriously though I think it is luck of the draw as my other dcs did not sleep through until much later (like somewhere between 6 and 8 months) The only difference is that I have let Toby have as many or as few feeds as he likes - and he has to get up by 7.30 so I can get everyone up and out of the door in time.

no1 Thanks for the hamster story - I am eating my dinner you know.

Re the meetup London is actually easier for me (plus I know my way round) - I'm happy either way

no1putsantaupthechimney · 11/12/2008 19:56

ooh rice crackers yum. Thank you.
sorry if put you off your tea

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 11/12/2008 20:09

s'alright no1 - I did almost spit my pasta out though

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 11/12/2008 20:19

i have put reese down on the floor beside the christmas tree and she is being happily entertained by the tree train. round and round and round and round and round and round

do you think i should just leave her there until she cries? no sense in bothering her if she's happy, right?

sambo that is very chic wallpaper. i agree it looks like a posh hotel room's.

i'm still going to recommend cats to all you with rats. just forget to feed it for a day or so and your rat problems will be history.

it's rained bucket loads here for the last two days. now there's talk of snow. translation...ONE BIG MESS.

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 11/12/2008 20:24

Oh TS yes leave her there! Toby would love it too - atm his favourite thing is lying under the baby gym looking at the other baby in the mirror I love it when they do that

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 11/12/2008 20:40

reese is now sound asleep by the christmas tree.

dd1 is practicing for her play on monday. she has a role in the Gingerbread Man. she's shouting her lines and running around the sofa.

book news... i've been reading Multiple Blessings:Surviving to Thriving wiht Twins and Sextuplets by Jon&Kate Gosselin. it's nice but stressing since it's about her pregnancy, birth and bringing the six kids home for the first time. makes reese's story sound like dustbunnies by comparison.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 11/12/2008 20:44

ts i love jon and kate plus 8. how gorgeous are those children. I dont know how they do it. I didnt know they had abook

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 11/12/2008 20:58

You all disappear just when I have time to come on here

pertelote · 11/12/2008 20:59

ALBS - count me in for a London meetup. We should do it at the same time as the bristol one and have a live laptop linkup...

DD is so grumpy this week! Aaaaargh what has gone wrong?! She's gone back to waking up in the night as well... weight gain is still ok though.

DH still out... his early-afternoon work do tomorrow - to which I was invited - was cancelled so they've all gone to the pub tonight instead! How is that fair?!
