British airways no longer flies from Glasgow to Bristol - selfish gits

dizzyjingles · 09/12/2008 21:17

easyjet Glasgow to bristol on 13th Jan is £75 return, reasonable times too - am still working on it

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 09/12/2008 21:21

If this all gets together and people are flying in from all over the world - I will not go swimming!

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 09/12/2008 21:23

I must meet the FBG that is DIzzy

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 09/12/2008 21:25

Where is my post? It seems to have disappeared.

Anyway, in case I haven't gone mad
I'm aiming to get there on 13th (would have to get the train that gets in at 10.15) - but have no idea where Cabot thingy is so would have to be pointed in the right direction. How would we recognise each other? Dh will think I've gone completely mad

And the other two things I said were
happy birthday to cyteen and hope your Christmas miracle continues dizzy !

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 09/12/2008 21:28

Oh and builders - they come round quickly enough but don't hold your breath for a quote is my experience - credit crunch credit smunch round here - they seem to have plenty of work

dizzyjingles · 09/12/2008 21:33

pmsl oops - if I do manage to get there I hope I'll be made welcome even if I don't turn up with a batch of buns

PF I would imagine you'd recognise everyone by their buggies and all the giggling!!

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 09/12/2008 21:41

dizzy that would be any of a number of NCT meetups where I used to live

There was a thread uniform at one stage wasn't there - there are a few canary yellow boden macs around methinks

dizzyjingles · 09/12/2008 21:43

and name tags with our 'proper' names on it rather than the usernames

poppystocking · 09/12/2008 21:50

God, I'm knackered. And not in a small baby,sleep-deprived sort of way. More in a DH potentially being made redundant (and therefore being a PITA), getting ready for Christmas, life with a particularly recalcitrant 2.5 yr old and preparing for 2.5 weeks away from home and an 8 hr drive with 2 x DDs on Friday - sort of way. Oh and more blardy snow is forecast. Clearly this is no reason to be knackered in the company of those on here (SO pleased to here that your girls have turned a corner Dizzy. DD1 keeps asking how your DD2 is. So nice to be able to tell her she's getting better!), but I still am.

V. v. of the meet-up. I will be preparing on that day for a return to work for one day only the next day, and for DH to find out whether he has s job or not at the end of that week (anyone - who hasn't given up my tergid post by now) noticed a theme here...? Ironically heading the way of Bristol next week for a fortnight. Will be heading v. much your way too oops, but the most ridiculously overfull day to expect tempers to manage, so won't subject you to a further stretch! Will be thinking of you when we're in your neck of the woods visiting DD2's godfather. Glad to here all's progressing well with the house by the way. So exciting!

Ali, Ann, would be fab to get some sort of get-together going. I'll be back up here from 28th. How are you fixed Dizzy?

Sorry to have missed out on everyone's news in the maelstrom of packing/ironing/wrapping (of the present, rather than without a w sort ) of the last few days. But I do believe that I it's Happy Birthday cyteen.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 09/12/2008 21:52

Hi all cyteen hope your having a lovely day.

ann glad your plans or sorted.

I have told dh tonight I want to come to the Bristol meet up he looked at me like this
Then said do you know how far?
I said oh not that far.
He said do you know how much
I said oh not that much.
(I looked this am £165 )

no1putsantaupthechimney · 09/12/2008 21:54

poppy sorry x post.
Really sorry to here about your dh that must be really tough

dizzyjingles · 09/12/2008 21:56

POPPY!! sorry for shouting! was just about to go and find my mobile to text you - was going to ask when you're back up, would be LOVELY to see you and we'll have DD1 to herd play with the wee ones too

let me know whatever your fancy

poppystocking · 09/12/2008 22:00

Jeez, sorry for that incredibly long and dull post.

Finally - a post-natal club related post ... DD2 is still not gaining much weight . I had finally reconciled myself to having a small baby and feeling thankful that, as my last baby, she'll feel that way for longer (can't believe BTW that my DD2 was born on the same day as your gorgeous DS rotter). Then went to get her weighed... Only just 13lb. HV ok about it actually and not long until I could start weaning, but got me worried again... DH and I were looking at photos of DD1 at around the same age and we agreed that DD2 seems to be at the size and developmental stage that DD1 was at 13 weeks (and after getting her weighed that is spot on too). She is now nearly 18 weeks . Should I be though? DD1 was nearly 2 weeks late, DD2 nearly 2 weeks early. Plus DD2 was really ill. Plus I know they're all different...

You'll be wishing I'd stayed away now

poppystocking · 09/12/2008 22:04

Thanks No1. Should be ok for DH's job. Just going through the motions , he says. Still a PITA!

dizzyjingles · 09/12/2008 22:05

poppy I'm so sorry you're still feeling stressed about this. I have to say, having met you, I think you're a great mum who will do nothing but the best for her wee ones and I believe you yourself can only know whats right.

are you trying to choose between weaning or introducing formula or carrying on as you are? I certainly haven't seen anything I would worry about with Emily - is she sleeping through/shouting as if she's constantly hungry?

I don't know what to say to make it better sorry

poppystocking · 09/12/2008 22:06

Hello Dizzy! Yes, must get-together when we get back. Hopefully by then we'll have 5 x healthy DDs (and us too)!

dizzyjingles · 09/12/2008 22:09

lol - dh is sitting coughing on the couch - have told him he can feck off if he thinks he's gettin sympathy after what I've been dealing with the past week

Thanks Dizzy. She certainly seems ok. She's still sleeping 12+ hrs at night and is alert and seems to be coming on every day. Not as 'up' on developmental milestones, or when they're being reached, as last time . I do feed her at least every 2 hrs during the day though (which I don't mind, I just worry) and still worry that I'm not giving her enough. Plan to carry on as we are until after Christmas and if she's still v. small we'll start on solids a bit earlier than I'd hoped. . Maybe she'll just be a small person though...?

dizzyjingles · 09/12/2008 22:14

not embarassed at all VG - I got over that when I met Poppy and she was lovely in RL too

I think you'll all be hard pressed to get a word in round Sazz!!!!!

no1putsantaupthechimney · 09/12/2008 22:16
