Sambo, I wouldn't recommend soaking anything PVC or PUL, because even with plain water in the bucket the wee can be corrosive.

Am really regretting not buying that new china that was 50% off (because of being discontued I think[sad) so to make up for it am going to spend £50 on a wall-mounted platerack and have my perfectly acceptable and actually very pretty existing china out on display. Don't think I can get away with calling it an Xmas pressie for DH though, do you? Have reorganised my cupboards in anticipation, bit premature as I now have a pile of plates awaiting a rack (and someone to fix it up.)

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 08/12/2008 20:21

Sambo, the bra is yours for a fiver! Paypal to: lollipop at southamptonnappies dot com or email me for address if you prefer a cheque.

Cheers

Me: So how would you feel about me taking DS out of the country without you?
DP: eh?
Me: I am thinking of going to Bristol for the day on 13th January.
DP: eh? Why?
Me: To have lunch with some of the August mothers from Mumsnet.
DP: OK
Me:

I thought he would be queasy at the idea of ds being out of the country (and suspicious of you internet nutters) but either he wasn't really listening or he doesn't mind. So - Bristol here I come!

Would arriving at 13.10 (airport) be too late? Alternative is arrive 07.40, I suppose I could eat breakfast till someone else arrives.

Who's in for definite?

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 08/12/2008 20:45

TS i am imagining you juggling Reese comedy stylee as she slips through your hands and there is nothing to grab hold of! . Hope the new formula helps clear her skin and there are no adverse reactions to jabs this time

Well done on the smear test Sambo, never nice but must be endured. You have reminded me that i need to rebook mine for next week

Ataraxmas i am a definite for the 13th and happy for you to book anywhere to eat. Sofa's sound good and very appropriate . I have also heard that if you go into the carpark at the bottom of the M32 and go to the 3rd floor there are loads of Mother and Baby spaces and you just walk across the bridge into Cabot Circus.
Re: Bristol Zoo, i am aiming to go next Mon afternoon if anyone fancies it with a go on Santa's train

Woohoo Woohoo, Ireland meets Bristol

NoroomattheCaveman · 08/12/2008 20:51

A very quick hello before I shoot off downstairs to relax with dh...

buckets I must confess I don't bother sterilising spoons etc, just put them through the dishwasher. I do have a separate tub for keeping all O's spoons etc in though, rather than just in with all the other cutlery. I figured that seeing as he shoves his fists in his mouth it wouldn't matter seeing as I don't sterilise his hands

so so tired....ds2 feeding solidly for last 2 nights (or at least it felt like that!). Must be a growth spurt?

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 08/12/2008 21:13

VG my offer on my email still stands & i can always fit in a spot of Brekkie

There is also this lovely toyshop a short detour en route from the airport which is lovely for a browse with a lovely cafe next door ......tempting?

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 08/12/2008 21:24

not quite juggling but reese is dangling off me at the moment. poor lass as slept almost constantly since jabs. she woke just a moment ago but only long enough to quickly down 7oz of her new formula. dd1 came over and kiss her on the forehead...too sweet.

i need to schedule a smear here too. in no hurry though. will discuss it with new doc mid january.

somebody take a camera to this bristol meet-up!!!

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 08/12/2008 21:26

look and see

FestiveGardenia · 08/12/2008 21:43

Sorry that was a very selfish post just about me.

TSAngel damn your eyes, you got me with that link... aargh. Will report, sir, yes, sir.

sazz you too are a Christmas Angel, I would feel dreadful dragging you out at that hour but would love to browse toyshops and sample cafes! I'll email you.

Would people be thinking of meeting early in case some have to go and collect older dc? Should we organise via email rather than bother people who are not going?

I had my smear at my six twelve week check, most unpleasant it was, but tis over and it's obviously great that it's been done.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 08/12/2008 21:54

dd1 just came to me requesting cup of water. she smelt of peppermints. i asked her what she'd been doing. her reply nothing. i turn to look at her gingerbread house.......seems it has some decor missing.

SevenRottersPottering · 08/12/2008 21:56

I would just like to take my hat off to all you who are managing with limited support from DH/DPs for whatever reason, especially those of you with more than one DC, I don't know how you do it .

I must admit I'm of those with 3 DCs, it's sad to think that DS is my last baby, but DH says NO WAY to any more. I can see his point, I'm nearly 40 and he's 44, we are so lucky to have the two we've got and I'm already knackered but still... It's amazing how quick the late pregnancy aches, labour agony and new baby shellshock fade from the memory isn't it? I suppose it's second baby syndrome but DS seems to be growing up so much faster than DD. He rolled right over onto his tummy today (and was so shocked he started wailing ), and he'll be eating real food in a few short weeks, but wasn't he just born?

Very excited for all of you meeting up in Bristol, will there be a secret handshake? And has anyone heard from Ali after the ring excitment the other day?

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 08/12/2008 21:58

VG do not apologize for you post. i personally enjoy reading so post as much as you like.

Sazzles, as for your post on the other thread, you've been our star swimmer....did they drain the pool?

dingdongmerrilyfromhome · 08/12/2008 22:06

hello,

am thinking about coming to Bristol. It would be a long day by train, or an overnight visit and maybe catch up with other friends, or maybe borrow my mum's car, so please do add my name to the email list for further discussion and I will see if I can work out the logistics of the journey.

It's still cold here, DS very cute in a sleeping bag.

dizzyjingles · 08/12/2008 22:07

am not here so don't speak to me I am going to bed before the sh*te hits the fan again as DH on nights and it'll all be down to me again - all 3 sleeping at the moment so fingers crossed

on a poor note though - I started coughing today [meep][meep]

have a good night ladies

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 08/12/2008 23:01

if dizzy were around i'd offer a {{{{hug}}}} but since she's not

longway how cool you can join the bristol meet up. how many does that make so far?

SevenRottersPottering · 08/12/2008 23:05

I've added some pics of my lovely DCs to my profile page if anyone's interested .

We'll be putting up the tree on Saturday so will add some more festive ones then

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 08/12/2008 23:11

lovely dcs rotter. careful with the cake making....lots of competition around this thread.

SevenRottersPottering · 08/12/2008 23:14

Thanks TS, right back atcha with the lovely DCs. And I know I am in a cake-related lower league and bow down before the FBG that is Dizzy

Off to bed now, here's to sleepy cough/mucous free babies and mummies xxx

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 08/12/2008 23:43

the FBG lol
who is also a FPG too

FestiveGardenia · 08/12/2008 23:47

Oh lwfh do come! What time would a possible train get in?

If I am getting my crack of dawn flight an early meet would suit me best. My 2 possible flights back are mid aft or night time, so I'd really want to get the mid-aft.

What if lunatic killer is stalking me on this thread, he'll know exactly where I am and where I am going? Maybe he won't recognise me in my Christmas name. again.

Pottering your DCs are beautiful! You are right to be so proud. I think your cake is fab too, I think there might be a bake-off in order between you, dizzy and oops. You can all send me copious samples and I'll judge .

TS you are so kind!

FestiveGardenia · 08/12/2008 23:48

Where is Bristol, come to think of it?

Hmmm. Mental note: consult map.

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 08/12/2008 23:58

Well I sadly still have a wide awake baby DP curently trying to get him to sleep. He is wailing his little head off though, so is obviously not working.
I'm guessing that this Bristol meetup has replaced the London one then? Ah, I was looking forward to meeting some of you ladies. Very of all you ladies going. Bristol just isn't an option sadly.
On the other hand Dizzy and Poppy let me know if you'd be up for meeting up when I'm up in Scotland. Still don't know when it'll be as DP's boss has STILL not made up his mind on when (or even IF)they're closing over the Festive Period He's obviously not bothered about the fact that he's messing his staff and their families around.

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 09/12/2008 00:02

Suddenly silence reigns upstairs... Has a miracle occurred?

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 09/12/2008 00:04

Hmmmm.. ok He's stopped wailing but now sadly am still hearing wide awake cooing noises. Aaaaargh Just GO TO SLEEP. I'm so tired. HIs cooing is very cute but not after midnight when I'm dog tired. Ok now he's wailing again.
