Here we are, finally made it to another thread.

Congratulations Sponge, that's exciting! How do you feel? Rotten?

Auntgriselda, Hasan is feeding loads! Usually wakes at 5.30 for leisurely breakfast, then mid morning snack, afters for lunch, mid afternoon snack, afters for tea, supper, evening snack, midnight snack. Ooh he's a so and so.

When I tried to cut him down he became more demanding at night He really howls if I turn him down So I haven't the heart turn him down (for now - am a softy walkover!)
The thing is I'm available and on tap all day and all night.
I'm resigned to going cold turkey because I think if I try to do it gradually it will prolong the agony. At the moment he eats well but not alot.
Once I stop he'll eat loads like his brother I think.

But keeping going until he is two if I can.

Still co sleeping with Hasan and ds2. They cuddle up together -very cute. I'm planning to eventually relocate to my own bed in the next few months too.

Cor really can't imagine having another little one now

No idea what to get him for Christmas......

Poor wee mite - I wish nurses would get trained to do needles properly. I remember having a blood test when PG and it tool the nurse about 15 goes, my arm was covered in bruidses afterwards. And no, not 'cos I'm a redhead lol!!

SuperSillyus · 05/05/2009 21:37

blueberry that is so ridiculous. I think the red head thing seems a bit of a strange facination

I really feel for you, your situation sounds really tough and no wonder you are feeling upset and depressed. It is very hard and you are a very brave person. Hopefully you will get through all this to an easier time ahead.

It is ages since I've been on, I forget about mumsnet now and I used to be so addicted!

Hasan is saying alot more than he was but still not speaking loads. But I'm not too worried. He is full of character, very funny boy. He loves playing football and loves to be going out. He hates any family member leaving. He cries for ds1 and dh when they leave the house without him, it's heartbreaking. And he asks all day long where various people are.

I'm still bf a couple of times at night and it's been like that for months but he still often asks in the day and cries crossly when I refuse. I have to find other ways to get him off for his nap now but I am so relieved not to be feeding him all day long like before! phew. Not sure when I'll get him off it totally, few more months perhaps.

supersilly, yes, its a struggle tbh and am so tired at night usually haven't the energy for mn . the other thread i am on for june births is huge and people post non stop which is very familiar. i really can't keep up

ds still has a bruise on his arm where she injected him, is this normal? its about size of a 20p and is green.

ds also asks where daddy is all the time, seems to form very close attachments v fast with other children, asking if they will be at so and so, or if we can go to their house etc etc. marked preference for older blonde girls, about 4-6 yrs

mygreatauntgriselda · 06/05/2009 20:38

Bluebery lol at his taste for older blondes

Super - Hasan would get on sooo well with the Fat Toddler xxx

SuperSillyus · 07/05/2009 11:16

mygreataunt..they sure would...might start wrestling though and have to be prised apart

blueberry if the bruise is green it's probably on the mend but just shows what a nasty one it was. Have you got some good books to read? Escapism works well when the going is tough I find!

Anyone heard from Kitty lately? Haven't heard how she is doing for ages

I had one of those e-mails from her the other week that you are supposed to forward to 12 people you know and which I always forget to forward

Callieco · 07/05/2009 23:14

hi all, thanks for the chicken pox good wishes. It was ok, he managed not to scratch any spots off anywhere visible so that was my main worry out of the way.

Blueberry, hope you feel better soon - must be v hard in new place with active toddler and that pg. Hope you get to see more of your DH soon. Interesting what you said about your DS getting bronchitis as my BF is in southern africa and her DS, also two, has had really bad bronchitis on and off, apparently it's the dust. Did they say anything about that?

We have finally made the decision to put the house on the market after umming and ahhing for a few years on and off. Now can't wait to move - probably be here this time next year though knowing my luck.

blueberrysorbet · 10/05/2009 19:50

callie, yes its the dust - must say that the first doc said it was because he had red hair (left hurridly) 2nd doc said because he was british (same) 3rd doc said its the dust. all expat kids get it he said, clearly wanting to add "so take him home, why did you come to this place" he is on ventolin and zrtec, will never come off and may now get asthma. so am really down about this.

supersilly, am always at library! they took pity on me and doubled my amount of books to take out. either that or ds in libary every otherday was too much to bear

elvislives · 11/05/2009 18:04

Glad to hear some are still BF. DD has a rotten cold and is struggling to breathe and feed at the same time. Makes it very uncomfortable as she latches on, sucks furiously then lets go. Every feed takes ages and I'm getting sore.

Took her to Bristol Zoo at the w/end. There was a DD sized plastic gorilla (to put coins in) by the gorilla enclosure. DD ran up to him, said "num nums!" and twisted his nipple DH curled up laughing while gma pulled a cats-bum face.

SuperSillyus · 11/05/2009 21:28

Callie good luck with the house selling and house hunting! Glad you got the chicken pox overwith!

Blueberry that is so upsetting about the bronchitis. Hard for you to feel happy about your move at all. I hope that the advantages start to balance better with the difficulties soon.
It must be hard with the pregnany when you are so much more vulnerable but having that to focus on may be a good thing too.

Elvis rofl at your dd going num nums to the gorilla

Halloooo just keeping this on my list. Super I seem to have been devoured by FB at the moment and keep forgetting to chack in here

blueberrysorbet · 15/05/2009 20:47

ha ha re gorilla

am oscillating between good days and bad days... have 2 things up for your advice

ds has started throwing food/ letting it fall out of his mouth over side of chair. he does it without thinking then when i tell him off - i say no, thats naughty- he does it again and again. i am really fed up with it, what do i do? assume he is testing me, and am tryng not to shout... however how do i get him to stop?? is this the beginning of naughty steps? or do i just ignore him and hope it goes away?

also, my mum wants to fly out to visit when lo is born- for 3 days (my dad is v ill) its a long night flight, she is in her 70's, and the weather here will be 50 degrees or more. i have kind of said no but will speak to dh... think it will be too disruptive for ds, uncomfortable for me, we are not close- and i donlt want a visitor in my house this time. we had dh paremts last time and it was a nightmare, am still bitter about it

waves to you all...

mygreatauntgriselda · 16/05/2009 14:51

BlueberryDS2 did that with his food for a while - it was exhasperatig but one day he just topped and has never done it since!!

Re your Mum, you sound as though you would really rather she didn't visit at this time, is there a way you can tell her? Maybe she could come a bit laer when things have settled?

SuperSillyus · 20/05/2009 10:08

Blueberry I try to ignore the bad behaviour as much as possible and that usually works. Though I've been ignoring the wall scribbling and hide all pens and pencils but my walls are a total work of two year old art all over the house!
I just bought a huge pot of paint and will eventually repaint! (sigh)

Think your mother would be mad to do that journey, I hope you find a way to put her off.

Hi gang. Have a listen to this song if you get the chance. It's schoolkids from where we live singing a song they wrote with DP for a community project he was doing with them. He wrote the tune, and the lyrics with some of the ideas from them.
He's trying to get it up an internet song chart so any clicks will count!

kittywise · 23/05/2009 22:29

blueberrysorbet · 25/05/2009 19:40

ds now puts himself in naughty corner... i have to drag him out

cs booked for 4 june. have bought presents for ds and baby to pretend they bought each other. am keeping very quiet as have no wish to go into labour- the guesstimate was that lo is 4 kg.

kittywise · 26/05/2009 11:58

what's 4kg in old money?

blueberrysorbet · 26/05/2009 19:19

mygreatauntgriselda · 02/06/2009 12:48

Oooh where is everyone

(trots off to FB)

Piffle · 02/06/2009 17:25

Oh gosh been a while!
Met kiwibella today!!! And cutie Kate!
Was utterly lovely to meet them!

Update on Finn
Glorious
Naps 3 hrs a day
Sleeps 8-7;30am
Has all his teeth
Knows all car makes
Talks for England
Is toilet training himself quite well
And generally is quite fab
How's everyone!

kittywise · 02/06/2009 18:47

Hello piffle, good to 'see' you. Finn sounds like he is doing great
Well Ronnie:
has hardly any teeth, only 8 I think
Says some things
still screams so loudly he can literally stop an entire high street
Shows no interest in toilet training
never naps

polar opposite boys I think

But he has the most glorious long blond locks which I tie back, he looks very dapper

Actually next Monday I am going for a hearing test as I'm pretty sure enduring 2 years of the most ear piercing screams known to man( people regularly comment that they have never heard such a loud and piercing scream has given me significant hearing loss

mygreatauntgriselda · 02/06/2009 19:09

Hiya Piffle

Finn sounds marvellous

Kitty thanks for the update lol!!

The Fat Toddler:

Extreme boy - quite neathandotal [sp}
Very loud and shouts a lot
Forced him to stop BF in March and he still grabs them, exclaiming "Boobies!! Boobies gone!!!"
Loves cars and strokes cars, exclaiming "nice car!"
Wakes me up in the morning by pulling on my nose, exclaiming "Nose!!!"
Eats anything sweet, which, thankfully includes a lot of fruit
Has long dark ringlets and has turned a delicious baked caramel colour in the last two days
Is full of life and can prepare his own bottle of milk
Generally naps 1-2hrs
No inclination tp predcit bowel or bladder movements
