Vino - what days do you work so we can arrange to get together? I forgot...!

Glad S eating better - sods law, once you have mentioned it they start doing it!

Supposed to be going to best friend's party tody in Lincoln for my godson's 2nd birthday but J ust isn't himself. Not sure if he is teething? He was up every hour in the night so I am shattered too. She was cool with it but feel awful letting her down

Would he be teething the last back molars? Is it the right age??

F is teething I think, Wilkie. He's had a really sore bum and red cheeks and been grumpy in the night. I took him to the docs last week thinking it was his ears but they're fine. I forgot they'd still have more teeth to come.

Lizzzombie · 25/01/2009 17:33

DP just put our Blue Bell railway photos up on FB. My hair looks really nice don't you think?!

Hope you all had a good weekend, I have a "Come Dine with Me" marathon waiting for me on Sky+ I love it! x

Dragonhart · 25/01/2009 19:53

Ruth is teething one of her back molars now. She is ok in the day but night time has been a bit of a trial.

EAH- That is awful about the 5p! DP works for a big comp famous for baked beans and used to work in their testing lab. Food was sent to them and they could tell at which point in process things they sent back got into the food. He said that he is suprised they did not pick it up as they usually xray the packets. Makes it worse imo.

Lizz- Made the flapjacks. SOoooo nice. Think I can feel my arse getting bigger already though!

Wilkie- I have got nervous at all scans I have had. THink it is totally normal but that is not much help. Agree with EAH about not relaxing til they are in your arms. Are you bothered about boy or girl? I think I would have loved to have 2 boys but glad that Ruth and Rachel have a sister as I love having one!

Vino- Glad S is eating better. THink we are going to start a little early as Rachel is driving me a bit mad with feeding her all the time. She has started to wake in the night again too. Trying to last til at least 5.5 months but counting down the next two weeks!

Rgee- Ruth wont nap now in the day either. Not even in buggy when I am picking up Luke. Sometimes dozes off if we go in the car but. Gutted!

Dragonhart · 25/01/2009 20:02

Lizz- Rachel was given a cream rabbit from Mothercare which she loves and I was going to give it to her in bed but I have always bought two of their special teddies so that one is in wash one in use (esp useful when they are ill!!). Looked online and they dont seem to have it anymore. DO you know if there is any hope of getting one if they dont have it instore?

Lizzzombie · 26/01/2009 08:29

dh - on the mpthercare label there will be an 8 (or maybe 7) digit number. Let me know what it is and I can have a look for you. BUT, there has just been a big soft toy sale, with them going for silly prices to clear them instore. So they may well have been sold. Let me know the number though, and I will investigate!

eandh · 26/01/2009 08:41

agent Lizz takes on the case

Dragonhart · 26/01/2009 10:15

Cant see 7 or 8 digit no, but there are two no on; 0348 and RR06S then a P separately. Arranged like this-

0348 P

RR06S

Thanks for looking.xxxxxxxxxxxx

Lizzzombie · 26/01/2009 15:47

curious. No number.
Thats odd. Ok, can you take a photo of it?! (I know that sounds daft!) and I will have a check round the stockroom for one similar.

eandh · 26/01/2009 19:39

Both the girls love this as it's not too spicy!

1/2 onion
1 chicken breast
sweet potato
1 tsp korma curry paste
vegetable stock
coconut cream (although I dont always use this and use cream instead)
Take half a small onion & grate it (mine are fussy about `bits' of onion!) and fry gently in some sunflower oil.

Add one skinless chicken breast, cut into small chunks, and some cubed sweet potato and fry for a couple of mins.

Add a tsp of korma curry paste, then add a mixture of veg stock & (coconut) cream, (I don't measure, but enough to comfortably cover the other ingredients as mine like lots of sauce

Then put a lid on and simmer for about 15-20 mins, until chicken is cooked & sweet potato is soft. Serve with basmati rice or couscous (latter the fav in our house)
Will serve 2-3 under-5s!

Sometimes ass some extra chopped vegetables such as red pepper, carrots, peas or sweetcorn before simmering if I have odd bits that need using up

Dragonhart · 26/01/2009 19:55

Lizz- Camera is in our room with Rachel fast asleep. It is under the bed in the bag we took to FIL's other wise would go and get it!

It is almost identical to the one but it is cream and doesnt have the words on the foot. Will take pic tom as well. Thanks again.

Dragonhart · 26/01/2009 19:59

Yum. Will try that too EAH. Thanks

Lizzzombie · 26/01/2009 21:44

DH - Will have a look for all cream bunnies at work and let you know tomorrow afternoon.

I'm going bananas atm.
Had 4 patches applied to my back this morning for a patch test to work out what is aggrevating my hand. I have to keep the patches go back on Wed and on Fri morning (to Brighton!!!!!) for them to check the patches and I have to keep them dry all week. They are testing 39 different substances and one in particular which we think may be rubber is driving me nuts. I want to rip it off and itch it! It feels so gross having these things stuck on my back too. Ugh. Am over it now. Its going to be lovely with my polyester work shirt tomorrow!

In other news, DJ asked for his Dinosaur Pyjamas this evening. This is interesting because: 1: He never has asked for any particular piece of clothing before, apart from a certain train character on his socks. 2. I didn't know he knew what a dinosaur was, or that he knew how to say it. There you go. There maybe a dinosaur shaped light at the end of the Thomas tunnel!

eandh · 27/01/2009 06:58

Lizz I remember a friends dd being obsessed with dinosaurs and at 3 she knew all of the names and said she wasnted to be an archeologist (sp) it was freaky how much information she aboorbed about dinosaurs! Patches sound ummmm ...itch

I am going to go mad about our sleeping at night, we have finally after 4.5 years got Ellie consistently sleeping in her bed all night (was my fault fo rever starting to let her come in with us) and now Hattie has started waking 3/4 times a night first couple of times I can get her back in bed and settled but by 2/3am I give up and let her come in with us and then she fidgets until dh gets out of bed, I am hoping its teeth or something as shes always been a good sleeper (on a positive note neither of them woke up till 6.40 today which is a lay in in this house )

My brothers gf got a scan this monring as had bleeding at the weekend, they've rsigned themselves that they've lost the baby, my brother is so gutted they've been trying for a year (she was on the depo injection and think its taken ages to get out of her system) she went to drs yesterday who just gave her a leaflet aboutmiscarriage, she phoned me upset because leaflet says she needs a scan but Dr said she didnt I phoned the EPU for her and spoke to lovely sonographer who agreed she does need a scan and gave me a reference number so I then phoned her Drs for her (she asked me to!) and spoke to practice manager and she got a phone call 10minutes later to say scan was booked for 8am today and she needed to go and pick up the referral form. I can't beleive the Dr was so crap, the snographer was lovely and said it could be implantation bleed, could have been twins or could be a miscarriage but whatever has happened they'll be able to offer her help.

Lizzzombie · 27/01/2009 08:16

You are such a lovely SIL Eah. x

raisingrrrl · 27/01/2009 10:07

EAH - I hope your SIL is ok. You are good, getting it all sorted for her!

Lizzz - we've already been to the Bluebell Railway, think we went over the summer. I seem to remember it being very hot and nearly passing out in the buffet thing! Z was a bit underwhelmed - I think we might do another trip this summer as it's not too far from the IL's! Maybe we could tie it in with the Southern meet-up?

Z has got another cough - or rather, he's still got his cough from last winter. Every time the weather turns the slightest bit chill or damp he gets a really rattly chest and cough, last night and Saturday night he was sick from it. Not sure if any of you remember the epic puking sessions he used to have this time last year, when he went down to 17lbs? The doctors kept fobbing us off, but he's never really recovered from it. We have got an appointment this morning and I am not leaving until I get a proper answer from the fricking doctor!

eandh · 27/01/2009 18:07

Sadly she had miscarried, had nephew here all afetrnoon and brother and gf just picked him up, because he has speech issues I had to really concentrate when he speaks but bless him he told (and signed!) I love you to me he ate all his dinner and said 'no tank too' (no thnakyou) to his pudding. Because of his sensory thing he did find teh girls squealing a bit to much but set up the farm in the other room and he happily played in there (and banned Ellie from going near him) Hattie managed to be quiet so he 'allowed' her to play with some of the animals from the farm (she was a bit put out as was one of her xmas presents) but I noticed a huge difference where Ellie & Hattie will play together he just played next to her and couldnt interact play with her

eandh · 27/01/2009 18:08

Raisan - how did you get on at Drs?

raisingrrrl · 27/01/2009 18:12

EAH - so for your brother and SIL. Was it complete or will she need a D&C?

Dr reckons Z has a chest infection, and has given us anti-b's for him. I'm very sceptical but the dr basically said that we won't get anything else done until we've tried the anti-b's, which is v frustrating. I still think it could be asthma - but I have no idea how they would go about diagnosing asthma in a small child!

I got the dr to check out the bump while we were there and he said the head was fully engaged, and I'm having some brownish discharge (sorry for TMI!) - have phoned my doula to alert her that she might be needed in the next few days!

eandh · 27/01/2009 18:23

Rescan later in the week as her womb was fuzzy so they couldnt check properly (I know she was having scans late last year as they thought she had a womb infection???) Also checking her bloods.

Hattie has asthma but controlled via her brown inhaler every day and blue inhaler if she gets wheezy, on the whole shes fine until she gets a cold and then shes so rattly and wheezy (or if she runs around in the cold she gets wheezy) we saw the Dr and the asthma nurse when diagnosed and she sees the asthma nurse every 4 months for a check up.

How exciting that baby ud no 2 may be here soon, what was your due date and any names yet??

raisingrrrl · 27/01/2009 18:44

EDD 23rd Feb, no names yet.

Contractions were coming every 7 minutes for about 45 mins or so and i was like, "Ok, that's cool," was about to phone labour ward and they stopped.

Fuxxake.

eandh · 27/01/2009 19:17

is it still too early for a home birth or would yo be ok now?

Reggiee · 27/01/2009 19:17

Raisin OMG how exciting!!!! Keep us fully updated .

Eah so sorry to hear about your sil and db . Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.

Lizz I started scratching too . Doesn't sound particularly pleasant but hope it all gets sorted.

Dragon hope you find another bunny. I panicked when P dropped her bedtime bear - thankfully we found it and we have a spare, but even so, I felt sooo sorry for a cold bear (we found her sat on a wall )

Wilkie will be thinking of you tomorrow. Don't worry and enjoy seeing your lo.

Vino how's the potty training going? Random people keep telling me that I'm lucky P will be out of nappies by the time the new baby's here. Well that's news to me as I wasn't planning to train her until she's ready and settled with the new lo.

Glucose results back today and I don't have diabetes which am v happy about. Still have to see the consultant later this week though. I think everyone thought I had it.

eandh · 27/01/2009 19:19

good news about the glucose test Rgee

Hattie decided to balance the potty on the sofa and attempt to go on it whilst I was upstairs this morning - hence 6 pebbles of poo and a wet patch on the sofa and

Lizzzombie · 27/01/2009 19:34

Eah - your poor brother. Hope they are doing as well as can be.
LOl at pebbles on the sofa though!
DJ just poo'd in the bath this evening & I shoved him on the potty saying "no poo in bath" over and over again. Luckily it was just a little pebble also!
Rgee - I think the waiting to potty train P thing is a good idea, as I reckon when baby comes she would return to not using a potty anyway as a form of attention. I believe that happens alot...or so they tell me.
DH - we have tons of cream fluffy bunnies in stock. They are £9.99 I only get 20% discount, so that would be the same as postage really so its not worth me getting it for you unless there is no MC near you, or your local one doesn't have any then obviously I am more than happy to sort you out! Also - be careful with those flapjacks, they are lard ridden! They are the sole reason I am not skinny. (and creme eggs, and fat cheese sandwiches and chips...obviously!)
Raisin - How exciting! This baby is messing with you isn't she! My mum is an asthma nurse, and they can diagnose asthma for definate from 2 years, and as Eah has said, in some cases before too. Especially if there is immediate family members with it. Really push this issue with your surgery. In some cases the Practice Nurse who is the asthma specialist at your surgery may well be more informed and experienced than your GP. I would be inclined to book an appt with her for as soon as the ABs are finished. DJ has never actually had an asthma attack (touch wood) but occasionally gets a very rattly cheat and I made a big fuss to the Dr about having lots of asthma in the family and he gave me an inhaler and child adapter for it just in case.
Right, have to clean up the train carnage in the living room!
Did anyone else catch the new Beverly Hills 90210 on E4 last night? Not as good as the original.
My goodness, there is a freaky woman on Sky3 atm. She is huge and lets her son (who looks lilke a girl) choose what he wants to eat in the supermarket. Shes a total weirdo.
