I don't know..I finally leave MN for like 5 mins, and suddenly there a ton of posts!

Trixy - let me be the first to congratulate you!
Wilkie - Sorry, but LOL at your wee story. Poor you.
Eah - When will you be an auntie again?
Vino - DJ was a nightmare weaner. In fact I am sure he is the most anorexic baby ever!
PCf - Hope Max is better, well done for doing 2 lots of entertaining in one day!
Rgee - Flapjack recipie will follow, possibly the best in the world!

Presents are wrapped, main birthday cake is made and will be iced in the morning. Tomorrow will be mostly dedicated to Thomas the Tank engine I feel. So pleased my parents are down, my Dad is loving building the traintracks over and over again - the novelty will wear off soon!
Well, this time 2 years ago I was on all fours watching a box set of Star Trek Borg collective (random birthday present from BF!) Watched all 4 dvds back to back whilst waiting for contractions to get closer....how time flies!

Lizzzombie · 19/01/2009 23:10

oops, have no idea why that happend....

(Probably) The Best FlapJack recipie in the world....

8oz Butter/cooking margarine
7oz Soft brown sugar or castor sugar
5oz Self raising flour
6oz oats
3 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
(Optional - but makes it even healthier )1 apple (or pear) thinly sliced and chopped up

Grease tin (8"x8" ish)
Pre heat oven 180 degrees
Melt butter & sugar
Add vanilla
Mix in oats & flour & cinnamon (good bit for kid to do)
Spread half the mixture onto the tin
Lay the chopped apple over the oats
Cover with the rest of the oaty mixture
Shove in oven for 25 - 30 mins

Leave to cool
Turn out and makes 8 (pig size) slices

WARNING This reciepie (why can't i spell this word?!) is single handedly responsible for the size of my arse. Its the reason I piled on so much weight after having DJ. I used to make a batch every other day. Adding raisins or apricots etc experimenting and getting fatter!

raisingrrrl · 19/01/2009 23:44

Eep! Congratulations trixy! That's such lovely news!

Wilkie - I no longer leave the house without Tena Lady and breast pads attached - which is just lovely. Stupid baby. Just keep repeating, "it WILL be worth it!!"

Went out with some girl friends for dinner tonight and am now stuffed full of yummy Chinese! My trousers are v tight but I don't want to have to buy maternity trousers so late! I'm smaller than I was with Z, but I'd had both pairs of trousers a while and they were just cheap pairs. Grr, that'll teach me. Maybe I'll stick to wearing skirts for the next few weeks!

Reggiee · 20/01/2009 02:27

Trixy fab news . Welcome to the club! Are we averaging one a month from UD onwards at the minute?

Congrats on being an auntie too Eah!

Lizz happy birthday to DJ!! What time was he born (pg insomnia part ii here - might track back to see if I can find all our original birth threads to find out!). Am lol at watching back to back Star Trek! Ta for the flapjack recipe. Big noms!

Raisin / Wilkie another 'slack bladder' here. No Tena though Raisin - I just stink of pi$$ . Something else I didn't suffer with first time round but perhaps serves me right for only doing pelvic floors when I remembered . No leaky boobs though!

Vino bagel was v nice ta. And I had a toasted teacake. HEalthy tea.... Have returned to my pg craving of crunching ice, and consequently sending dh up the wall. Soooo satisfying. Although am slightly concerned at my 'pica' tendancies as I reckon if there's no ice ready I could raid the sand pit for the same crunch satisfaction

Eah am 26 weeks this week. Got to go to hospital next week for a glucose test. Yawn.

Wilkie are you going to meet up with your new family imminently or are you going to wait until they have been checked out first! Most exciting!

Still not feeling tired although my feet are getting cold now. Nowt on tv. Don't suppose that will have changed come late April.

Wilkiepedia · 20/01/2009 08:29

Very quick post before dash off to work but CONGRATULATIONS Trixy! Great News. Very disappointed that Lizz didn't fill the 'July' spot though

Type more laters.

Nice receipe tho, might give it a go, would create a good impression wouldnt it ?....

eandh · 20/01/2009 12:54

Happy Birthday DJ

eandh · 20/01/2009 12:55

Sorry forgot to say congratulations to Trixy

2Happy · 20/01/2009 18:21

Happy birthday DJ
Congrats Trixy!!

Dragonhart · 20/01/2009 20:57

Happy Birthday dj. Hope you enjoyed your cake!

Congratulations Trixy!

Will defo try that flap jack recipe. Mine is always rocl hard!

Rgee- I LOVED chewing ice cubes with Rachel! I found that a slightly less embarassing alternative was hard chalky sweets like those alphabet sweets or extra strong mints. But nothing compared to ice cubes. DH caught me eating them out of the freezer once, he made me jump and it stuck to my tongue!

Well, the injections were a disaster! So much for the great idea of having them together. Firstly I made the mistake of telling Luke that it might sting a little when he had them. Then the nurse refused to do Luke's first as she had set up Rachel's injections already so after watching her have two and screaming with it, he was crying and saying 'I dont want a hole in my leg mummy. Pleeeeeese dont let her!'. So with Rachel still screaming in her carseat so I could help luke, I had to hold him as tight as I could to stop him hitting the needle away. He was then really sad for rest of the day and even chocolate didnt make it better! What fun

Dragonhart · 20/01/2009 21:05

Oh and to any of you that are pregnant atm, I got sent a jojo maman bebe breastfeeding vest top in the wrong size as well as the right size afew months ago. Prob should have sent it back but thought I would see if anyone on here wants it.

It is a darkish green and a size small (so no hope it will fit me!!). It has poppers under your boobs and a v-neck.

If anyone wants it, I can post it to you.

raisingrrrl · 20/01/2009 22:44

DH - poor luke. The nurse could have figured it might be easier to do the oldest one first! Stupid people.

I'd love the bf-ing top but if it doesn't fit you there's no hope it'll fit me! I really want to do some shopping but I don't want to buy maternity clothes now!

eandh · 21/01/2009 08:16

DH at the nurse, poor Luke (was it his pre school boosters as Ellie screamed and screamed at those )

Raisan - I dont think I have any materniry bits left but I'll have a look later if so you can have them

Not alot going on here - made a lovely dinner for dh and I last night and whilst I was cooking DH had laid the table with candles (he is still being 'model' husband and dad ) Ellie helped me make a white eine creamy mushroom sauce from scratch yesterday afternoon and then I slow cooked chicken in it and did bacon mash and mangetout, babycorn and carrots was nom nom (and had chocolate trifle afterwards mmmmm) today we are going to make lasagne for her & hattie and chicken satay kebabs for me and dh.

Lizzzombie · 21/01/2009 09:25

I am sooo knackered! And we didn't even have a party!
My parents have been down for a couple of days and we went out for (fancy) ice cream in the afternoon, then had neighbours round for some cake later on.
DJ didn't eat anything all day apart from half a slice of toast and an ice cream cone cornet.
My house is a tip, why do people give stupid plastic presents which do not do anything? here apart from that she obviously got it in the sale as I know it was reduced loads.
The main cake I made looked lovely(photo to be on fb soon), but the nursery cake which I have just dropped him off with is a nightmare. It went horribly horribly wrong (hence no photo!)

Eah - I am so of your nice meal! Sounds lovely. Would actually be nice to have my DP home before 8.30pm so we could eat together. Blimmin' winter train times.
DH - Poor you, poor Luke and poor Rachel! Hope they are ok today.
Raisin - Have you checked charity shops out for any clothes? There is one particular one (not near us, but next town ish on) which all the local maternity clothes get donated to so if you ask around maybe the charity shop ladies can point you in the direction of your local one? Or failing that, just get a cheapy boob tube (bear with me) and wear it low down over your 'waist/hips' to cover the top of your trousers, then no one will know you have got 3 buttons undone & that its not a normally belly band. Primark used to sell these for £2 or something.
Right, I managed to tread lipstick into my carpet 2 days ago, the Vanish carpet cleaner did not work and I have got something else to try, and seeing as how this is my FIRST morning off by myself since OCTOBER!!!! I better utilise my time efficiently.
xxx

eandh · 21/01/2009 10:23

Lizz - huge sympathies on the present thing I found myself getting all wound up that certain people got H a present for her birthday that was originally £10 but you know it was reduced to £4/5 but I still go and spend £10 on that child for their birthday

The only reason dh and i eat together is because he leaves at 4.30/4.45 so home around 3-5ish he used to start around 7am but would never be home before 7pm which meant for the first 3.5 years of ellie's life/first year of hatties life I had to do bedtime every night

Am off to check out facebook to see your pics

Lizzzombie · 21/01/2009 10:35

Oooh, thats annoying! If I get a bargain present for a friends child, I always make it up to more £ with extra bits.

Haven't put all photos on FB yet. I will get there soon! x

eandh · 21/01/2009 10:49

Thats what I do too! Saying that sil still hasnt given H a card and friends who ds birthday is week before xmas and I made a specific point of ensuring he had his present for his birthday text me yesterday to say she still has h's present (wouldnt mind but she drives past our house twice a day to get to work)

Lizzzombie · 21/01/2009 12:27

My own sister hasn't even sent a card to him! And the postman has been today too - empty handed.

Photos are on FB now.
EAH - I am loving the dressing up photos! I want little girls!

I ordered a big red bean bag on ebay (from a shop) for DJ's main present, paid for it and it should be delivered in the next week or so because of a delay in their delivery.
Was in Dunhelm Mill yesterday, they now have big red bean bags for £10 cheaper (+ obviously no £10 delivery charge)
Do you think I can cancel my order with the ebay place even though my payment has all gone through and save myself £20?! Very annoyed because when I checked before Christmas they only had shitey beanbags in and no nice big plain red ones. Not sure what I can do, if anything. Wouldn't be so grating if the ebay one had arrived on time.

raisingrrrl · 21/01/2009 14:56

You could try emailing them and saying that as they've been delayed in delivering it you don't want it anymore, as it was supposed to be a birthday present for your 2 year old, and see what they say. Worst they're going to say is No!!

I have eBay trauma here as well, I asked dh to find and bid on some Puddle Lane books for Zac, as I had them when i was a kid and pretty much taught myself to read from them. I'm not being precious, but he is starting to recognise his letters and numbers, and I thought that it might be nice for him to look at these books cause I really enjoyed them.

Anyway.

Dh txts me today to tell me we've won 2 sets of the books off eBay, and can I sort out payment etc, and when I went to look, he'd bought 2 sets off 2 separate sellers, which meant I paid nearly £10 in postage alone! Then one set of books was £15 and the other was £6 - so we've spent over £30 on books for Z! Dh pointed out to me that it was less than £1 a book (not sure where he's getting his maths from there, mind you!) and I'm like, fair enough, but he doesn't need 30 fecking books! We could have bought 5 books off Amazon for a penny each, and paid £2 postage on each and saved ourselves loads of money.

I'm so annoyed! (Can you tell? )

Lizzzombie · 21/01/2009 15:00

OOh, I've not heard of Puddle Lane books before.
What about emailing one of the ebay people you brought the books from, and saying DH has brought two copies of them and offer to pay for a relisting for them and apologise? Bummer though.
Think I will email bean bag place.
DJ is good with his numbers, and knows some letters. He shouts out "G" when were are in the lift as he knows G is for ground, and "D" is for Dylan. The Grannies love it!

Lizzzombie · 21/01/2009 16:05

Look what I found on the New Look website.
Thats quite good value. The one I brought from TopShop when I was pg was £10 for one.

raisingrrrl · 21/01/2009 16:07

Ooooh, well-found Lizzz! D'you think I need a S/M or M/L? I'm a 14 usually...

Man, I'm so over being pregnant.

raisingrrrl · 21/01/2009 16:09

Trouble is, I have no clothes to wear right now, and I need to go into town to get fresh veg for dinner.

How bad would it be if I went in my pyjamas? Might be a bit cold, I suppose...

Lizzzombie · 21/01/2009 17:49

If your pjamas have sheep or fairies on, then maybe not.
But, if they are tartan, you could work the alternative look.
I'd go for a M/L - this is NewLook, not Evans y'know.
