LLL, lol thats what Zachary does - shred the toilet roll!

He is so so so cheeky, he will be sitting on the sofa (our new ones arrived at last!) and chuck something on the floor then shout at me "Get it"

everyday he empties the cupboards of saucepans sits there with a potato, gets the fridge lock (dp still needs to fit it!) pretends to peel it and then puts in the pan and stirs it with a wooden spoon.... after a bit he says "done" and brings the potato for me to eat lol....

I think I have a master chef in the making.....

does anyone know a good soft bodied doll? as i am sick of looking for one but am getting him a pushchair to play with lol

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 28/11/2008 11:05

Agghh! Eight pages to catch up with! So not going to happen.

Anya took her first proper step this week. She was standing by the coffee table eyeing up the sofa about 2 steps away, then she launched herself at it and did about one+half steps on her own before collapsing against it. She's not done it since.

Had a rubbish night last night - think I managed 2 hours sleep in total . Anya had her MMR on Tuesday and we thought we'd got away without any reaction, but then she kicked off at about 8pm last night and that was it. I had to cuddle her ALL night - she wouldn't even sleep properly in our bed. Hope it wears off soon.

FT - do I remember you getting hand prints of Alex on something for father's day? Where did you get it done? Have I left it too late (again ) for Christmas?

Sorry, no time to read posts. Hugs to those who are having hard times, well done to babies doing new stuff, love to everyone.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 28/11/2008 11:10

Just wanted to add that Anya reacted to her first 2 jabs at 2 & 3 months really badly too - she's only been ok when they've just been boosters. Don't want to add to the controversy re MMR!!

FloriaTosca · 28/11/2008 13:55

Hi WWAJC!Yes I got Alexs footprints on a mug from a woman who comes to your home to do it, £15 per mug but she also charged £5.00 travel each way because we weren't in her home town I have since seen this and think I would rather have gone there, it would be especially good for you as Warrington isnt too far. I think you need to leave the mug/plate etc a week for them to fire it so you are not too late. For Christmas I have bought Nick a pair of silver cufflinks with Alexs' thumbprints imprinted in them from here but the deadline is Dec 2nd so it is cutting it fine if you want them for Christmas. ...I liked these sites too this but in USA so it would take too long and this. Hope you get something you like.

Woooozle100 · 28/11/2008 14:13

Hi All
Having a little catch up..and to chime in.. I've had an idea for soppy christmas pressie for grandparents / godparents / other close people genuinely besotted with yr child

A bear from the the bear factory. Or whatever furry animal best resembles yr child (a monkey for me ), dressed and styled in a manner aproximating child. The best bit of the idea is then to record your child laughing / babbling / reciting Harry Potter in the little sound message thing you get. Taa Daaaa a stuffed toy representation of your baby

I know its a bit > but ahhhhhhh. That's what my mom is getting for christmas off mine!

J2O · 28/11/2008 16:49

hi all, have read all the posts but am feeling too yucky to reply to everyone, me and Shannon have got crappy colds and shes clung to me all day, apart from a 30 minute nap earlier, where i managed to put her down. She also wont eat anything, so have had to up her milk.

LES-Asda have got the soft bodied dolls, Shannon got one for her birthday, think they're only a couple of pound.

shannon has her MMR booster next week, i'm pretty sure she had her first ones when she was tiny, so hoping it doesn't affect her too much, tbh, even though i knew of the risk of the link, i wasn't really in the frame of mind to think about it when she had it done. I know my friends sister payed £100 to do her ds jabs seperately, not really sure why, as he has already been diagnosed with having asperges-think she just doesn't want to make him worse.

am going to order takeaway for tea and put a dvd on tonight, hopefully Shannon will let me have an early night, Rich has gone on his clubbing weekend, so looks like i'm on my own with the little darlings. I realise just how much i rely on him when he is away, don't know why when i was on my own for all them years with dd1 and for the first 6 months of Shannons life too.

love to all, and i hope you all have a nice weekend xx

J2O · 28/11/2008 16:52

oh meant to add-
Ejb-thats a nice idea

WWAJC-well done Anya, sorry you had a bad night, hope tonight is better.
LLL-that is so cute Its great how they are developing now, I asked Shannon if she wanted to go to Leonie earlier while i did her milk, and she turned round and held her arms out to her, didn't think she'd understand but she must have done!

muppetgirl · 28/11/2008 17:49

J20 - i think you're amazing the way you manage on your own like you do I'm sure I would be even half as good xxx

Ejb - great to hear from you!

WWAJC _ Well done Anya! Can't help n the doll front as we're very ,uch a 'blue' household. In fact, Ollie won;t even go down the 'pink' isle intoys r us as he pulls a disgusted face and says 'that's the girls isle mummy...' Oh How I wait to experience him as a hormone induced teenager who can't get girls out of his head, he'll be LOVING pink then!

Tles -Well done Grant!!! and just before Christmas too. Great that you get free travel too. We're in Swindon to post too will email you with my postcode so you can tell me how much it's going to be.

What do we all think about this situation?

MIL phoned dh to tell him that she's not buying dh and I a christmas present this years as they've just had the windows replaced and they're short of cash. Absolutely fine as we understand everyone is feeling the pinch. Both SIL's and SIL bf will still get one though Also she said she's not buying the boys any presents as they've got ebough toys alread so she's going to put money in their accounts.

I, needless to say, was fuming more about the boys than myself though it's okay to buy her daughter's boyfriend a pressie but not her own son??????

I told her we are expecting, there was a big silence and then she told me how she cried when she found out she was expecting her third. Is it just me or is she barking?

J2O · 28/11/2008 18:06

muppetgirl-tbh i was speachless when i read that. wtf? nope, not just you, she sounds barking to me, does she mean she was happy or sad when she found out she was expecting her 3rd? how bizzare she felt the need to tell you either way.

muppetgirl · 28/11/2008 18:14

I CANNOT STAND THE BLOODY WOMAN
and she's getting more and more wierd.

J2O · 28/11/2008 19:06

are all mils weird? all that trouble i had with Richies aunt, i sent her a message to say sorry that what i had said had been misunderstood etc etc i didn't mean to cause problems (even though i really don't feel i should have had to, but it was doing my head in) and she said no worries, and sorry too etc, then i get told that after everything, Richies mum is going to theirs for christmas anyway, and we are going to do as i arranged last week, so what was the point of it bloody all?? why did she cause all that trouble and then back down and stick to the original plan. Arghhhhh!

muppetgirl · 28/11/2008 19:35

sorry she cried 'so much as she was so upset'

She phoned to say dh's auntie had sent presents for the boys and should she send them? I said that as we were seeing her on the 17th to not as it would cost her postage. She then siad she didn't know what was in them as she hadn't opened them
...I said that of course she didn't they are Christmas presents for the boys.

Anyway she phoned her sister to ask and they are advent calenders apparently. She couldn't just leave it.

(Dh's mum is Austrian so his he isn't really allowed to have contact with his aunty/uncle/cousins.They all speak amazing English though. All communication goes through MIL so you never know what's been said)

muppet-still don't know what to say...s'pose she can't be all bad when you have got your lovely dp from her

Inzi-glad you had a nice day, great news about the house, i'm really happy for you, i'm sure when it is all sorted, you'll be glad you decided to stay

well, we did the DVD and takeaway, there was loads left so my db came to and took our breakfast leftovers for him and his dw, along with asking if i had any pg tests (which i did have for some weird reason in the bathroom) and it showed up a faint line, so she sent dp to Asda on his pushbike to get a proper one and it was positive! They got married in July and been trying since then i think, so they are very excited, i'm trying not to tell anyone yet as it is there exciting news, but they've probably told half the world in the last 30 mins anyway didn't see the point of mentioning they should be a little cautious about telling people. So, i'm going to be something i've never been before-an Aunty!!

WinnieThePooh · 29/11/2008 01:35

Hi all,

Not been on MN for ages.

Shula is doing really well, she was speed crawling from about 10mths, then cruising the furniture about a month later. A week after her birthday in October she was walking about, now she run everywhere. She had her MMR jab the day after she turned 13 mths. She has 4 teeth.

We have been sitting her on the potty every nappy change since June and she will do something in it most times. She usually has a poo 1st thing in the morning.

Not had time to read all the posts on here, but I hope everyone is well.

muppetgirl · 29/11/2008 07:55

Hi Winnie, glad all is okay and little Shula is doing well x

Inzi - fab news on your decision to stay. Our garden is a dog run too but it's alot smaller than your, like a big yard really. We've taken up the grass and 'patioed' but as it's the entire garden it isn't really working so we're investigating re lawning it. My friends had a patioed area for thier dogs and they built a drain into the middle so they could wash it down more easily.
You sound like you've got a lovely garden I am very as that's the one thing we don't have and can never have (estate houses are notorious for postage sized gardens. At least we're all in the same boat)

I am still feeling very tired and had another one of my 'headaches' where I have to retire to my bed yesterday. I was very lucky that dh was at home so he picked up Ollie + Henry. Felt better after a slee though and was up and about later in the evening. I am loosing weight though which is a little strange. I was 9 stone 3 last time I weighed myself but now I'm 8 stone 13. Has anyone else lost weight in early pregnancy? I'm, not as hungry as I was with bothe the boys but I am making a conscious effort not to eat all the crap I did (and I ate loads!)
I just can't wait for the scan to know that everything is fine (I had a mmc at 14 weeks in between the boys so dread the 12 weeks scans now)

Hope everyone else is fine ALice, Crochet, LLL, Mine, Stefka, Floria, J20, Tles, WWAJC
love to all
xxxx

J2O · 29/11/2008 10:13

just a quickie-Hi winnie, sounds like Shula is doing great! don't be a stranger

Muppet-sorry about your headaches, i suffered them terribly when i was pg with Shannon, i think that was more stress than anything though, i also lost weight with her, but again, prob stress. Maybe you're having a girl!! when is your scan going to be due?

OK, So with all this about the jabs-Shannon has had all hers, and is due to go for the hib booster and men c booster on Thurs, does this mean she has already had her MMR yet? I can't find her red book to see!

muppetgirl · 29/11/2008 17:08

Hi j20 - my scan is on thur 18th dec. A girl would be nice but have to wait till feb to see x

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 29/11/2008 17:33

Well Anya's much better today. She's walking a few steps now too - still a bit wobbly though and she has to summon up the courage first!

FT - wow, you're a star. Will check out those websites - hopefully I will get something sorted .

J2O - sorry you and Shannon are not well. DVD and takeaway sounds like heaven though. Good news for your db and sil. MMR is the month after those boosters I think.

Muppet - yes, your mil barking. I have a vague recollection of losing weight in early pregnancy - I never weighed myself but I could judge from clothes. I was surprised as I was eating loads (grazing) to stop myself feeling sick. Then I realised I'd stopped drinking alcohol .

Inzi - sounds like Edinburgh was lovely. Hope Jane gets over her night terrors soon - are they supposed to last long? Think you probably made the right decision with the house move - it's not worth moving just to get a better bathroom if you love the rest of the house/garden. And big gardens are hard to come by I think.

Winnie - good to hear from you. Glad Shula is doing so well.

crochetdiva · 29/11/2008 20:24

Ok, I'm officially rubbish - I just posted this on the old thread!

Hello ... just running and back out again, to let you know that I am around!

Oh, and that if you sent me your email address for Secret Santat, that I have just done the draw (my floor is littered with scraps of paper blush), and I have emailed you the details of your swappee (is that a word, or did I make it up? Hey ho!)

Thanks for writing about MMR - I had the letter a couple of weeks ago, and had forgotten all about it ... I'm having Mairwen done - I've seen what measles can do to a child - and I work with autistic children - and, as Alice said, all the docs I know have had their kids done!

Oh, and in the USA, which is totally litigation happy, there is no debate at all on MMR ...

Right, running away to have some quality time with dh - he was away in Dundee for a week, and I've been doing things every night this week - so I've hardly seen him!

Love to all!

E

Mine · 29/11/2008 20:27

Do you have to receive a letter before you can get the MMR jabs???

Eren is 13months now and s=we haven't received anything.....

muppetgirl · 29/11/2008 21:20

we've not either. give your surgery a call
x

alicet · 30/11/2008 14:45

OK so we have had no heating since yesterday am! Bloody marvellous given that its about as cold as I remember it ever being up here. At least we have hot water...

So I am in a foul mood and I won't inflict it on any of you further... May be back later xxx

Alice - thought you had your heating sorted out a few months back? Or was that your boiler for hot water? Anyway, hope you get it sorted soon - what a rubbish time of year for that to happen.

Inzi - hope your neck is better soon. And hope you hear back from MMR in time for next month .

Am shattered today - was up for about 3 hours during the night with Anya. No idea what the matter was - she wasn't upset, she just wanted to have some milk and then play on the sofa, but if I put her in her cot she stood there shouting. You'd think she'd be tired today to make up for it but she's bouncing around full of beans.

FT - looked at that crackpots website today - looks really good, so will take Anya this week and get something appropriate.
