HI all, had a crap day interms of tiredness yeasterday culminating in a migraine so I went to bed early. Woke up and felt great today so not sure what was wrong or if it was a headache brewing? Am going to go to the drs regarding the headaches to get it logged I'm habing migraines and I started having them before I was prgt so not prgcy related.

Busy day looking at another car -Mazda 5 as it has seats in the boot that fold flat but are easliy put up, and (my favourite) sliding doors!!!!! It also doesn't look or feel like a bus and means we can get Ollie's mates in when they come home for tea, can get the dogs in we can put our top box on when we go camping. Think we'll go for that whent he time comes -july (or our present car dies!) I wanted the decisionmade whilst I was happy to get behind the wheel of a new car without a huge bump and I like planning....

We bought our black lab a rasied bowl set today and although he uses the water he refuses to eat his dinner out of it so I think he's cottoned on to the fact we know he's getting old!! We got him a large rectangualr bed so he's not constained in the round plastic bed as it takes him ages to get out of it and I'm going to get the car ramp next week so we can still take him out.

Crochet - that would be great to borrow the dvd, I am really missing the running, I do still have a friday session with the lovely Darren but miss getting out 3 x's a week.

J20 - loving your stamina, those days seem so long ago

ALice -glad your mum's op went well and that she gets a last few days with your sister xxx

WWAJC - am hoping dh gets into hospital tomorrow....

DECKmuppetWITHBOUGHSOFHOLLY · 04/01/2009 19:55

HI ALice x posted
re the cc I think it's really difficult to make the decision as is it an all or nothing thing? Hope the chat with dh goes well xxx

TheLadyEvenstar · 04/01/2009 23:43

Hi ladies,

ust a quicky as i am having a bad bad day today and have spent majoruty of it arguing with dp in between sobbing uncontrolably/dealing with Zachary/being sleep/deprived/stressed/depressed

other than that it has been a good day.

hope everyone is well

soz didn't want you to all think i was ignoring ya all xxxxxx

Stefka · 05/01/2009 06:26

Sounds awful Tles - sorry it was such a bad day. Hope things get better today.

WWAJC - that's awful about DH. How frustrating for you both. At least you had piza planned. We had pizza last night too. And chocolate. But chocolate now gives me heartburn since I had Dareh which is very annoying!

New car sounds exciting muppet! Did you choose one yet?

I've been up since 4:30. Dareh woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep so I brought him in with us and he has drifted off but also pushed me right out of the bed. I knew I would wake him up if I shifted him over so I thought I better just get up. I think today will be rough for me now.

TheLadyEvenstar · 05/01/2009 09:31

Stefka
Sorry Dareh woke you so early, Zachary has been going to sleep early and then waking late and not wanting to go back to sleep grrrrr lol. But "Its Just a Phase"

Well this morning we were ok if a bit strained but i am going to go out in a while with the boys and then meet dp for lunch, he is doing his training as a bus driver.....

FLORIAinexcelsisdeo · 05/01/2009 09:50

Alice; hope the chat went well and you resolved your dilemma...even more, I hope that Adam has got over his sleeping blip and you no longer have an issue to resolve.

WWAJC; sympathy on the frustration of the nhs delay...I hope all the drunken idiots get sudden recoveries and a bed becomes free today after all.

Stefka; you are a kinder Mum than me...when Alex falls asleep in our bed I pick him up and take him back to his own room despite the risk of waking him...I just cant sleep properly with him in between us (not just scared I'll roll on him but scared Dh will too)...funnily I used to sleep better with him on the outside of me despite the risk of him falling out...probably because I used to have his cot up against my side of the bed. I hope you get to catch up on your sleep later.

Well, the new year has started for real today..Decorations down (unlike Anya,Alex wasnt bothered ) Dh back at work, snow on the ground and my diet has started ...I'm off to change my Christmas name...ho hum.

Stefka · 05/01/2009 13:13

Little monkey won't nap now! No rest for me today it would seem.

A bus driver in London Tles? That is brave! Hope you have a nice lunch.

My decorations came down days ago - they were driving me nuts!

Dalrymps · 05/01/2009 14:26

Hi everyone,

Back from p'boro safe and well and back to my usual name

I'm going to tey my best to catch up but you have all been so chatty!

Stefka - We just had a few glasses of champagne on nye then and did a 2 min dance at the stroke of midnight. We then went back to wrapping my families presents for the morning and went to bed so not that exciting!

I agree with everyone elses advice on your opportunity to travel to usa, I think you should try and go for it and be honest with the organisers about it all. If you really want to go i'm sure there will be a way round it and it is an opportunity of a lifetime I don't know how you're still standing if you got up at 4.30 hope you get an opportunity to catch up on some sleep today.

My new years resolutions are to stop over eating and eat more healthily (most of the time) and to try and work towards resolving this situation with my parents. Oh and last but not least, to make a baby!

Marla - With you on the resolution to try to value mil and mother more. My mil rarely annoys me but doe manage sometimes, my mother on the other hand is very hard work but i'm just trying to appreciate the fact she brought me up and would like to see her grandson at the moment instead of focusing on her bad points (quite a lot of them).

Sunny - Sorry about all the sickness in your house, hope people are feeling better now...

Muppet - Sorry you have been feeling hormonal/down/stressed about your appointment. I think the ladies have given you some good advice. The yoga would probably be really good, I used to do yoga and always found it helped my mood a lot, really should get back on to it!

About the appointment, I usually get really stressed out about Dylan's various appointments and they are never as bad as the senarios I have thought up in my head so try not to worry too much. As alice said, even if they advice against a cs there's plenty time to change that. To be honset though, after what you've been through I think thats very unlikely.

Hooray at Henry bum shuffling! Bet there will be no stopping him now . So pleased for you that he called you mama, it must have been such a special moment!

The Mazda 5 sounds great, would love a car like that once we need more space, had a Mazda before out current car and never had a problem with it

Crochet - Glad you had a good new year, it's good to really let your hair down once in a while even if you did suffer the next day . I missed you on telly, bet you were great though!

Mine - Sorry you've ben feeling a bit crap and like you have no time to yourself. I'm sure this is a phase and will pass. Maybe try to fit something in for yourself no matter how small like a nice relaxing bath now and again with no interruptions. One thing I like to do occasionally is to listen to my ipod and enjoy my fav songs, I feel like it's just me and my music and it cheers me up and relaxes me

I've been feeling a bit like i'm 'going nowhere' recently. Not really down but like I need to do something with myself. Only problem is, I can't think what. I'd still like to have an internet business but not such a good idea in the current climate... I also like the idea of doing a job I am trained for, for eg: being a midwife but that is a difficult one as i'd have to train an hour away in Newcastle or edinburgh so thats probably one for the future. I love looking after Dylan and wouldn't want anyone else to do it but I don't feel like i'm using my brain or challenging myself much.

Strawberry - Your nye sounds perfect to me, ben and jerry's and SATC is my idea of heaven!

Alice - Hope you get the sleeping problems sorted out. Dylan is easy to settle (at the mo) and I don't think i'd deal with it too well if that suddenly changed so you have my sympathies.
Hope your mum recovers well. Glad you enjoyed the time with your sis but sorry it got cut short.

Tles - Sounds like yoy had a wonderful new years day meal, it's great when everyone gets together. Oh and {envy] on the no hangover thing! Sorry you had a crappy day yesterday, hope today goes better for you ((hugs))

J20 - Hope Shannon's snotty nose is better. Well done on deciding to stop smoking, I smoked on and off from 19 to 23 and i'm so glad I stopped. I tried about 3 times before I finally cracked it but when I really decided I wanted to do it then it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. After the 1st few weeks it was easy peasy! I've heard the Alan Carr stop smoking book is really good (my bil used it) but haven't used it myself...

Katsh - Nice to hear from you, hope you had a lovely christmas and new year even though a lot of you were ill.

WWAJC - Sounds like you had a nice relaxed new year. Wow at Anya's eating, I wish Dylan ate that much. Sounds like she's doing really well Dylan loves baloons also, he chases them round the lounge giggling. Sorry the op has been delayed, hope it is done soon. We need to take our decs down today, can't really be bothered though!

Floria - sounds liek you had a wonderful nye. It always lovely to see friends you haven't seen for a while. You sound much like me today, dh is at work, secs are coming down and I'm gonna try shift some of this weight! I watched a very interesting program last night called something like 'I can make you thin' with Paul mcenna, I have started following the basic rules today and have already eaten less than normal without dieting! It's repeated again tonight if you'tr thinking of dieting maybe you could watch it, i'm gonna give it a go! It's on once a week. Tonight at 8pm on the living channel I think...

LLL - I've seen that comedian a few times and I agree he is very funny

Well, I had a lovely time visiting my brothers and sils and my little niece. We did have a trauatic event on the first evening there though which I am still trying to recover mentally from...

We were all sat round taking it in turns to open our xmas presies to each other. We had just had a domino's pizza and some kfc (greedy) and a few beers. Dh opened a present from my brother which was a book of funny names, he started reading some of the names out and we were all laughing.

Anyway, he read a really funny name out (I think it was Shitty Dickens) and we all laughed again, this time though, my bro accidentally spat his drink out as he had just taken a swig of it. He was laughing tring to stop spitting it out then he started to be sick. He felt bad he was being sick as he really didn't mena to be so he was trying to hold it in. Anyway, at that point he just slumped forwards and stopped moving then he collapsed back in his seat with his eyes fixed and started going blue . I jumped up and screamed for someone to call 999. My sil (his wife) said she thought it was just asphicsiation (sp?) and climbed behind him on the sofa to do the heimlic (sp?) manouver whilst my bro called 999 and my other sil pulled my bro forward in his seat. Dh was running around trying to find something to be sick into if they could bring him round and I was totally freaking out. I thought he had had some sort of fit the way he had sat back as it didn't sound like he had been choking at all, he just stopped. Anyway, after his wife squeased twice he brought up more food and started coughing and breathing agian (thank god) and then the paramedic turned up and checked him over. He said that my bro passed out so suddenly and stayed like that because the flap in his neck that covers the lungs when you swallow must had gotten stuck and when that happens you just cut out.

All I can say is thatnk god for my bro's wife (who also happens to be my bf), I will be eternily gratefull to her.

I suffered really bad flashbacks since the incident which are becoming less freaquent now, it was horrific to see my bro like that

Anwyay, i'm off to wake mr snoozy, he's been asleep 3 hours and still not had dinner must be all the travelling yesterday...

Hi to everyone i've missed, hope you're all well, back soon x

FloriaTosca · 05/01/2009 14:58

Dal at the traumatic start to your visit...I can well understand your distress and hope the flashbacks decrease now you are secure in the knowledge that he is ok...he's certainly married the right gal! Glad you enjoyed the rest of the holiday
We have recorded the Paul McKenna programme so will be watching it tonight hopefully...I certainly need something to help kick start me...got to go walk the dog (and excersise myself at the same time) good to see you back

Dalrymps · 05/01/2009 15:06

Floria - Hope you have a nice walk. The flashbacks have really calmed down now but I still can't believe it happened. Hope I manage to get some weight off this time!

TheLadyEvenstar · 05/01/2009 15:42

Anyone got any advice?

OUCH MY EARS

Stefka · 05/01/2009 17:41

Dal that must have been so frightening! I am so glad he was ok. Flashbacks are horrible things - I am glad they are settleing down now. I have been thinking for ages that I would like to do some kind of first aid course actually because if something like that happened I wouldn't have a clue what to do.

JaffaCakesRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 05/01/2009 17:45

Alice - I shall be sending dh up to you then if we don't hear something shortly ! Hope you manage to come to an agreement with your dh about Adam. I'm reading Jo Frost's book on pre-school children at the moment so I'm being quite strict about routine and consistency - I think it's working as I can get Anya to sleep quite quickly now even if she does still wake me up several times in the night. I'm with you on cc though - I don't have it in me to do it - I just pick her up when she starts but I stay standing by her cot and she goes straight back in when she stops, and I don't give her any eye contact either, so she doesn't actually get anything out of it.

Stefka - hope you're not too tired after your early start!

Dal - at your Christmas trauma - that must have been so scary. Am so glad that your brother is ok - hope you are recovering.

FT - thanks for reminding me, I meant to record the Paul McKenna thing too - will go and do it now...

Anya's appetite seems to have gone back to normal today - she's not stuffed herself so her growth spurt must be done. Hopefully she'll start sleeping a bit better now (although really not complaining too much!) Back to work tomorrow - feels like I've had about 2 months off! Now must go and change my name back to something less Christmassy.

DECKmuppetWITHBOUGHSOFHOLLY · 05/01/2009 19:43

Am at the gym at the moment finishing my second assignment but have forgotten the bloomin' book that I need to talk about autism....arrgghhh.

So, decided to chat to you lot and facebook instead

Dal -Wow!! I can totally understand why you're having flashbacks, that must have been so traumatic for you. Am glad all ended well though and SIL deserves a lovely birthday pressie this year

Tles - sorry you're feeling low, what are your signals and how do you normal combat them?

WWAJC - are hoping your dh get the op soon! Glad Anya's appetite seems to be getting better, it is worry when they don't eat and they're not well...

Stefka - am really hoping you get a full nights sleep tonight xxx (AM sending you lazy Henry vibes >>>>)

Well, we had an alright day. It had snowed over night and it was really pretty outside so Ollie spent some time throwing snowballs everywhere. Not enough to build a snowman but it kept him happy. I managed to scrb the kitchen to within an inch of its life as it got realy mucky over the Christmas break so that was great. Henry worried us all when he got somethign stuck in his throat and his tongue went blue so dh grabbed him and turned him on his tummy and was smacking his back which helped but he then kept coughing and was eventually sick. He was a bit shocked but was fine after some drink and a cuddle. Ollie did something similar when we were in a cafe once so we both just went into autopilot which was wierd but Henry was fine soon after and tucking into rasberry swiss roll (I didn't want to leave it with him being scared to eat food so we gave him very small bits of soft cake) Nothing as dramatic as Dal's brother but does show how a tiny firstaid course when I first had Ollie all those years ago does come back to you when you need it

We had a nice walk out and Ollie learned about yellow snow!!!!! (he was disgusted ) and we all had a nice dinner I'd cooked - chicken stuffed with garlic, lemon and parsley - with salad for me and dh and chips for the boys. Pudding was over at a friends house whose ds was 5 today so we had some lovely homemade chocolate cake and then Ollie and his friend started to go loopy which was fun

last day of the hoildays tomorrow (WOOOOPPPPPEEEEEEE) am needding my routine back now....

love to all
xxx

J2O · 05/01/2009 19:50

ok have attempted to read but my eyes are going funny! We've spent all day trying to find a holiday we can afford (LES-Richie wants to wait a while to go to disneyland as he thinks Shannon wont get enjoyment out of it yet, so maybe next year or hopefully, if we can afford it nearer the end of the year like Oct?) and we found one, booked it, but its to fly from Liverpool at 7am, which is over 2 hours from us and we'd have to be there at 5, so we're looking for a hotel and parking in liverpool, but they seem really expensive. Am not even excited about the hol atm as i am tired, grumpy, Rich is pi**ing me off calling me grumpy and both the girls have been ill for the last few days (dd1 was having chest pains and couldn't breath so had to do an emergency doc the other night, but he couldn't find anything wrong with her)

arghhhhhhShannon is screaming......will try to be back later, if anyone has any ideas about the hotel, please let me know!

TheLadyEvenstar · 05/01/2009 19:53

J20 thats ok I was going to call you and tell you the same lol!

LisaLessLumpy · 05/01/2009 21:34

Hi all

Sorry I don;t have time to reply to all the epic posts properly...

Dal - what a scary thing to witness regarding your brother, thank heavens for your bf/siL

muppet - about henry too, glad all is well. Ben is going through a phase atm of sticking his fingers down his throat till he chokes I have no idea why. I hope I don;t have to witness real choking though neither of the boys have choked more than needing a quick sharp smack to the back to rectify.

I have tried getting back into some fitness again, after being good all last year I stopped exercising mid October and the snacking has been creeping up again, add to that Xmas and I have put 10 pound back on, so at myself I was doing 40 mins on the cross trainer really easily, I could only manage 25 mins this evening, thought my legs were going to drop off I am also doing some wii fit/sports most days, making full use of my pressie of dh.

Ben went back to nursery today YIPEEEEE!!! peace and Sam goes back on thursday, double YIPEEE!!!!, maybe now I can get back into routine too, and also catch up on ironing, the pile is nearly as high as me atm, I haven't done any for about two weeks I moved Sam's room around today, he is all excited about his 'new room' I have also tried having a sort out, their rooms are nice and tidy but now I have crap all over the landing!

Right off to have a shower and go to bed, I have struggled to wake up today even though the boys slept all through last night.

Ooo and we have started a new routine with boys, over Xmas the time they went to bed has been getting nearer to 8pm and over every night, meaning they were getting up later, great whilst we were all off but now nursery beckons they need to wake earlier so the past two nights they have been in bed by 7pm... bliss I suddenly feel like I have my evening back

DECKmuppetWITHBOUGHSOFHOLLY · 06/01/2009 10:01

LLL- Tomorrow Ollie goes back to school and on Thursday Henry is at Nursery so I have a day off!!!! (I say day but it's 10-2.30) Well, it's a day to finish my assignment and clean the bits of the house that have been 'forgotton' over the holidays.

Going for another half hour walk today though it's still hard to do at any brisk pace due to the frozen pavements but at least we'll get out and are trying to drink the right amount of water for the day, so guess who'll be on the loo then

muppetgirl · 06/01/2009 11:06

Back to normal now, no Christmas name anymore. Btw I haven't had another 'mama' from Henry so guess that was a lovely coincidence
xx

FloriaTosca · 06/01/2009 14:58

Muppet;dont worry..he knows how to say it and he knows who it means...Alex said "Mummy" at 7 months for about 4 weeks and then replaced it with "Daddy" and mummy hasnt been heard again except when he hurts himself! He does the same with other words too..we had "tongue" as favourite word a couple of weeks ago now he wont say it for love nor chocolate money I think they just store them up until they really need them while they concentrate on the next word.Hope the walking and water is makes you feel better.

CrochetDiva · 06/01/2009 17:58

Hi all,

Just checking that my name's back to normal again!

Had a call at work this morning from M's nursery asking me to come and get her ... she's all spotty!

I took her straight to the doc, who think it's either rubella, the start of measles, or just a viral rash. I have to take her back on Friday and they'll be able to tell for sure.

Praying fervently that it's not measles!

She hasn't had her MMR yet as she's been so virally and poorly - so she has no immunity against it at all - I haven't had it - I'm just hoping that any immunity I'm giving her through BF her is helping!

Power of thought would help here!

FloriaTosca · 06/01/2009 19:42

Oh Crochet, that is such a worry...sending lots of positive, non-measles vibes.... if it is any consolation I had the old vaccine when I was little and was considerably more poorly than the 2 kids in the street who got the actual virus... still praying for you that M just has a viral rash though. (((hugs)))

Stefka · 06/01/2009 20:16

Crochet how awful for you. BF will definitly be helping to keep her strong. I will be thinking of you both.

J2O · 06/01/2009 20:40

Crochet-am really hoping its a viral rash, fingers crossed for you x

Mine · 06/01/2009 20:53

oh crochet i'm thinking of you both. I really hope its viral.
Does she have any other symptoms..??

x
