Anya had her Christmas party today at playgroup. They'd kept it quite small - only about 14 - so it wasn't too unruly and there was plenty of space for the lo's to run about. Couldn't believe how well-behaved everyone was (including Anya!). Not a single balloon got burst, none of the babies cried when they had to pass the parcel (not hold the parcel and chew it to death), and Anya didn't throw any food on the floor. Anya blanked Father Christmas, but did like the shiny blue wrapping paper on her present.

She was so tired afterwards that she had to have a sleep - a really bad move in the afternoon as it means she won't sleep now before about 10pm. Ah well.

StefkaSnowAngel · 17/12/2008 21:48

The school don't want me tomorrow but I am sort of glad as Dareh was so sad when I left him this morning. Hopefully the school will use me again after the holls.

Glad it got to you choc - realised after I posted it that it was meant to be a secret but then you knew it was me anyway from organising it!

The party sounds good Jaffa - hope the late night means Anya sleeps really well and who knows you might get a lie in tomorrow morning!

Hey everyone,

Jaffacakes - Sounds like Anya realy enjoyed her xmas party

Stefka - Glad you had supply today and as you say, hopefully the school will use you again after the hols ((fingers crossed for you))

Well, just when I thought I'd got away with it it seems I have caught the bug after all , been dashing to the loo all evening. Ah well, i'm just glad Dylans over it.

Our HV refered Dylan to the speech and language therapist so she could assess him for feeding difficulties eg- swallowing/chewing problems. I told the hv I didn;t think he had problems with this but she's totally over the top about these things. Anyway, she came today and it wa actually useful to see her .

She had some interesting things to say. She said he can chew and swallow fine after watching him eat. After asking me about his eating she concluded that he's just one of those babies who is very sensitive to tastes/textures/temperatures of food. She advised to let the high calorie milk take the strain of his weight gain and try getting him used to textures without actually prompting him to eat. She gave me some rubber gum massagers to rub around his mouth to get him used to texture on his gums. She also said to just encourage him to play with the food and have fun. So, a bit like baby led weaning really but a bit more gradual and with less emphasis on actaually eating for the moment.

She also notice he has a slight tongue tie, this is something I asked midwives about when he was very younge and we were having all those bf probelms but they said he didn't have one . I feel a mixture of relief that the bf probs weren't all my fault and anger as if it had been spotted and sorted it could have saved so much worry and hasstle. Ah well, you live you learn. She said it's not too bad and doesn't need 'corrected' now.

Anyway, sorry about the me me me post. Hope you're all doing ok and everyone is enjoying the run up to xmas.

Hello everyone.

Well Ben has continued to sleep well even after his marathon 15 hour sleep on monday night I'm wondering whether he is having a growth spurt or just knackered after a busy weekend, he is not eating his normal huge amounts though

Tomorrow I have to take Sam for his pre-school boosters, can't say I am looking forward to that, and Ben has his Christmas party at nursery too.

Yesterday I took Sam to see Cbeebies Live in Nottingham which was really quite good, although during the first half I think we three mums enjoyed ourselves more. We even managed to 'pull' Justin at the end It must be a very cheap show to put on though but we still enjoyed it and had a birds eye view from a box at the top. The kids enjoyed it more in the second half once they got over the awe of seeing the characters off the telly and Sam was dancing around a fair bit.

I am slowly getting the house back to normal after the building works, hopefully it will be pristine ish by Xmas Day. Remind me not to have a normal cheapy real tree next year though, we normally have nordmans, but this year went economy, I'm sick of hoovering up needles and we have at least another two weeks left, its going to be a twig by the time we take it down

Dal- I hope you are feeling better soon, I just know that I am going to come down with something before thursday seeing as I am cooking this year

AndADalrympsInAPearTree · 17/12/2008 22:56

LLL - sounds like you had a great day! Sam must have really enjoyed himself. Thanks for the get well wishes, i'm trying not to eat in a hope it'll starve the virus.

StefkaSnowAngel · 18/12/2008 11:42

Morning ladies. A wee health update here. I found a lump in my breast last night. Saw the dr this morning in an emergency appointment and have been referred to the hosptial. The Dr said he didn't think it felt too sinister so that has given me some comfort. Now it is just a waiting game until the appointment comes through. I hope I can put it out of my head until then.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 18/12/2008 12:19

Stefka, I have a lump as well i have had it since i was 21. Was very scarey at the time, turned out to be scar tissue, had to have a biopsy but was nothing to worry about in the end.

Hope all is ok for you, you know where i am if you want to talk....

AndADalrympsInAPearTree · 18/12/2008 13:09

Sorry to hear that Stefka, fingers crossed everything is ok. Thinking of you x

J2O · 18/12/2008 13:33

Stefka, i'm sure it will be nothing to worry about but glad that you are getting it checked out.

LLL-sounds like a lovely day was had by all, lol at you 'pulling' Justin hehehe.

well, we're busy busy here, so best get on with my chores.
Love to all, sorry i've not mentioned all of you xxx

HeinzSight · 18/12/2008 13:41

Stefka, so sorry to hear you're having a scare, am hoping that you get further reassurance when you see the specialist. (((hugs)))

CrochetDivaMadeTheElvesNewHats · 18/12/2008 18:19

Stefka - I've been there (earlier this year) - I know that all the reassurances in the world don't really help ... here's hoping you get good answers really soon!

Dal - am on your behalf that the tongue tie wasn't noticed when he was earlier - I am really glad though, that your hv is on board with helping you and Dareh..

Still have very litle voice, but have spent the day wrapping pressies and watching NCIS / CSI ... it's been quite a nice day really!

LLL - hope your house is back to normal very soon!

I can't wait for next week: dh has been away on site now every week for the last 6 - it's getting very wearing ... and I'm hardly seeing him when he is home as he has to "crunch data" - his term, not mine. Sorry, just felt like a whinge!

TLESinChristmasStockings · 18/12/2008 18:48

LisaLessLumpy · 18/12/2008 20:51

Stefka - I hope you get some good news, try not to worry too much.

If anyone fancies a laugh read this

deckthehallswithINZIsholly · 18/12/2008 21:01

Hi just posting quickly as trying to get organised for xmas Jane has slept through for 4 nights in a row 7pm -8am BLISS!!!! she is obviously out of pain from teething just now and has been like a different child, AMAZING fun to be with all the time, giggling and not whinging or crying...its heaven and we are having great fun

Really just wanted to post to (hopefully!) reassure you STEFKA. I hope it helps that I had a lump about 3 years ago and same as you was referred to the hospital for a scan, the doctor was worried because it had grown so big my breast looked out of shape. I was seen really quickly but also reassured it is unusual for it to be anything as sinister as Cancer at our age. I immediatley thought lump=cancer and was so ill with worry. Turns out it was a completey harmless cyst, it didnt even need treatment just went away on its own. I hope that (in some way) helps to make you feel better. Please try not to worry about it especially over xmas, chances are it will be nothing serious. x

Hi everyone else, going to enjoy a glass of wine now and try to relax after a busy day !

StefkaSnowAngel · 18/12/2008 21:07

Thanks for sharing that Inzi. I am trying really hard not to focus on it but it is difficult. I wish I could be seen now. The waiting is the hardest bit. I am having wine and chocolate.

Mine · 18/12/2008 21:41

Stefka, i too have had (still do in fact) a few lumps in my breasts that turned out to be cysts that were completely harmless. It will be ok, and we are all here for you.

Its my last day at work on monday!!!!!!! yay!
Can't wait.

oh... and Eren is now walking without holding on to the furniture

TLESinChristmasStockings · 18/12/2008 22:34

WELL DONE EREN

AndADalrympsInAPearTree · 19/12/2008 00:06

Wow, Well done Eren!!!

DECKmuppetWITHBOUGHSOFHOLLY · 19/12/2008 09:10

Hi all!!!

Just a quickie to say the scan was fab and lo is absolutely fine [gein] and moreing from us here in muppetland.

The baby stretched out for us and was punching my insides during the scan so was an active little mite. The only thing is they changed my dates from 12 + 1 to 10 + 4 so confused as to that but at least there is a baby there!!!!!!!!!

Dh and I were very apprehensive as I've been feeling fine, yes migraines but I was getting those before for a a bit. I've lost weight not put any on so we were a bit worried. DH had a grin on his face the rest of the day which was lovely and he thinks it's another boy.

Love to all
will read and catch up later.

Floria/WWAJC - still up for metting up tomorrow? Around 11 oclock suit you both??

xxxxxxxxxxxx
