What a busy weekend - nothing exciting though - dh has been in bed for 2 days with nasty flu virus but I've still managed to get a load of Christmas shopping done. Went to Crackpots yesterday to pick up Anya's mug for dh now it's been glazed. It looks fab - much better than I remember . Then braved the shops - rubbish idea on a Saturday before Christmas but it had to be done. That was after going to our works Christmas do on Friday night, which was such good fun - I was very sensible and danced rather than drank.

Stefka - hope the party was ok yesterday and sil wasn't too awful.

Winnie - didn't get an email from you - do you want to try again?

Heinz - congrats! Am really pleased for you.

Muppet - sorry you're still having hassle with your mil. And sorry you're having migraines - hope they get better soon. Wow at Henry eating so much! Good luck with your scan.

Inzi - glad you don't have to have an op. Fingers crossed for you ttc.

Dal - how's Dylan now? Any better? Re Christmas presents I'm building a book collection for when she's older so I ordered a box set of Beatrix Potter from ebay - a week ago but it's not arrived yet . So she might not get that on Christmas day. Also books for now (noisy ones and lift-flap ones especially) and clothes. Plus an Aquadraw - might stop her trying to pinch pens. Family will also buy her loads of toys.

Apricot - nice to have you back. How are you?

FT - I'll email you about Crackpots but probably in New Year now!

Hope all ill people are feeling better soon.

Hello to everybody I've not mentioned.

Anya's spent the last 5 minutes trying to push a grape stalk back into a grape. Well it keeps her quiet!

deckthehallswithINZIsholly · 14/12/2008 19:15

HI ladies....another negative test will do another in a few days. I am sure they are coming although I did feel the same way last week.

StefkaSnowAngel · 14/12/2008 19:42

Sorry to hear that Inzi.

Party was fine and she wasn't too awful. Usual comments about her DD doing everything first but we all just rolled our eyes a lot at each other!

Jaffacakes - what a lovely idea about the books. Do you buy special sets then for each birthday/christmas?

CrochetDivaMadeTheElvesNewHats · 15/12/2008 09:22

Morning all - just a quick and gentle reminder from me that you should be sending your Secret Santa pressies today ... and just to add that it isn't obligatory to put pressies in for the kids - the secret santa is for us, the hard-working mammies!

TLESinChristmasStockings · 15/12/2008 09:54

My SS recievee will be getting a seperate Parcel in a few days for her gorgeous LO xxx

FLORIAinexcelsisdeo · 15/12/2008 10:35

WWAJC; I hope R is feeling better, I've been suffering flu too and still have a dreadful cough that sound like I have a 60-a-day habit. Crackpots in the New Year would be fab. Lol at Anya trying to repair a grape. I'm with you on the books thing...Alex already has the Beatrix Potter boxed set(birthday gift)...he's getting Enid Blytons Faraway Tree collection with a book of Christmas stories and an "in the bath" book this year...we are also collecting all the Disney films on DVD for him..though no doubt by the time he's old enough to appreciate them it will be old technology and everything will be Blueray-3D!

Crochet; thanks for the reminder...I'm off to wrap it now.

deckthehallswithINZIsholly · 15/12/2008 10:40

NOT pregnant...AF arrived with vengance this morning.

CrochetDivaMadeTheElvesNewHats · 15/12/2008 10:59

Inzi ... enjoy a Christmas drinkie on me!

I'm home from school again: I have completely lost my voice - I went to see my GP this morning, and she's signed me off for 2 weeks ... and I'm not allowed to talk -I can see me doing a lot of MNing this week!

I have sent my pressie this morning ...

deckthehallswithINZIsholly · 15/12/2008 11:11

Hello everyone
I hope the poorly people are feeling better soon - there's obviously something nasty going on as every time I log in, someone else has been taken ill. DS is the one suffering here, but I also think he has more teeth coming as he spends all day chewing things.
I posted my secret santa present this morning. And then took DS to a christmas party at the toddler group we go to on Mondays. Now he's fast asleep so I can MN in peace, and watch Gilmore Girls....

TLESinChristmasStockings · 15/12/2008 16:43

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH peace at last lol

Zachary has developed an extremely HIGH LOUD pitched scream which goes right through me. he does it whenever he wants his own way or me when i am doing something else sob sob

StefkaSnowAngel · 15/12/2008 18:02

My SS is already posted. I was organised for once!

Dareh stood on his own for the first time today - just a few seconds mind but we were still excited!

StefkaSnowAngel · 15/12/2008 18:07

Just enjoy the time off Crochet and I hope you feel better soon! I've had another couple days of supply. It's not a bad time to do it as everyone is all Christmassy. Also I am hoping they will use me again after the holls.

alicet · 15/12/2008 21:49

Inzi sorry you're not pg honey. At least you can enjoy a few tipples at christmas though!

Crochet hope your voice is better soon! At least you can chat on here as much as you like

Hello to everyone else - I have been on call today and only just got in. Thats the end for me now though as in this job its shifts so at least i can't be called back in! A bit busy this week - working Mon - Wed and then travelling down to mum and dad's on thurs. Will have to pack and sort all our Christmas stuff the next 2 nights so that might be a bit manic too.

Not sure i'm going to be able to meet up with the south west and welsh lot either - think mum and dad have loads of plans for while we are down and also need to have a bit of quality time with my sis as she isn't going to be back until Aug next year So will have to do something when I am down next - sure will be making another visit before too long now mum and dad's house is done! Really looking forward to seeing it...

Anyway hugs and kisses to all of you and I'll be on when I can

Hey everyone,

Inzi - Sorry your af messed you about and it was negative in the end. Here's to a christmas drink and and to ttcing in the new year

Jaffacakes - Yes, Dylan is better now apart from the cold he's caught. Still a bit on off with his food... Lol at Anya with the grape . Glad you had a nice time at the works do and have got some christmas shopping done even with dh out of action.

Floria - sorry you've been so ill and have a terrible cough, hope it clears up soon. My cold is finally shifting but I can feel it settling on my lungs as it always does . Sending get well wishes x

Crochet - Sorry about yout throat but yay at 2 weeks off, hope to see a lot more of you

Strawberry - Hi! Sorry your ds is ill too. It was on the news today about this bug thats going round, apparently it's highly infectious and can live outside the body for a day or so , hope he's better soon.

Les - Glad you're enjoying some peace and quiet at last. Dylan seems to be shouting an awful lot at the moment and making some very strange noises

Stefka - Thats great Dareh has been standing by himself! You have reminded me actually, Dylan did that for the first time the other day (not meaning to sound like your sil by the way). I think Dareh and Dylan sound quite similar in terms of development . Glad you got some more supply, must be really helping, may it long continue!

Alicet - Glad work is going ok. Sounds like you have a hectic week planned alright, hope you have a lovely time visiting your family, can't wait to go see my brothers and sils and niece in the new year . Are you staying down there for xmas or coming back up for that?

Well, i'm just chilling with dh here, will say hi to everyone I haven't mentioned as usual. Hope you're all looking forward to xmas, I am!

LisaLessLumpy · 15/12/2008 22:52

Oops, been so busy I forgot to post my ss parcel will try and do it in the morning. Love to you all, will catch up tomorrow as I am off to bed now xxx

FLORIAinexcelsisdeo · 16/12/2008 08:49

Went to the PO to post my SS parcel yesterday afternoon and the queue was a mile long (slight exaggeration but yswim)Alex spotted the milkybar buttons and started to strop..annoying neighbour joined me started talking to Alex saying "oh, you want sweeties do you?" just as I was distracting him with Christmas card pictures...I gave it up as a bad job and came home....just getting ready to go and beat the rush this morning.... back later....

LisaLessLumpy · 16/12/2008 09:22

Will attempt to post my ss parcel today if Ben ever wakes up. So far he has been asleep for 14 hours straight!!! I have never known him sleep this long.

Also I am taking Sam to see the Cbeebies show this afternoon with some friends. DH has been instructed to be home for 2.30 to look after Ben

CrochetDivaMadeTheElvesNewHats · 16/12/2008 09:46

Have fun LLL!

StefkaSnowAngel · 16/12/2008 17:46

Lol Dalry - sil would not have said it like that - it would have been more 'oh my DD has been standing for ages, she can stand on one leg now and do short tap dance routines'!

Another day of supply today. I miss Dareh! And I am bloody tired! Can't complain though - at least I am getting some work.

LisaLessLumpy · 16/12/2008 20:17

wow - what did I miss! when did you get work?

JaffaCakesRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 16/12/2008 21:28

Stefka - go Dareh! - well done him standing up. And glad you're getting some work. Just buying books at Christmas. Last year bought a really nice book of fairytales. Next year probably Winnie the Pooh.

Inzi - sorry about test - fingers crossed for next month.

Crochet - hope your throat gets better for Christmas.

DH still not fully recovered - I'm exhausted and I had to dump Anya on my dad today while I went to a client. Not that he minded at all. Anya's got a Christmas party tomorrow at playgroup - looking forward to that although dh might want to take her if he's well enough.

Ah she calls...

TLESinChristmasStockings · 17/12/2008 10:35

Well done Dareh !!!

Stefka, hope the extra work is going well...bet your missing lil man loads!

CrochetDivaMadeTheElvesNewHats · 17/12/2008 15:48

Stefka - thank you for my pressie - it came this morning, and I have put it under the tree for Christmas!
