cass66 · 15/12/2008 16:30

Hi girls, no more drunken postings from me for a while, I don't go out that often, honest, it was just 3 in one week (although one was my work do and I drove so was sober. nice to see everyone though. going back in Feb, looking forward to it, actually!)

Have put some more photos on facebook.

My 4 yr old is doing her best to annoy me.

Intend to make chocolate truffles for the girls teachers today, but need to find some energy and enthusiasm. Ed asleep in his pram in the kitchen.

Love to all. Cass.

cass66 · 16/12/2008 13:48

thought I'd post something to avoid us getting lost!!!

pigleypudding · 16/12/2008 14:26

Hello everyone,

Hope everyone is well and not too full of cold!

All good here, looking forward to xmas!

Fingers crossed Abigail seems to be sleeping better at night and she is sleeping longer between feeds.
Only difference ive found is not putting her in her cot to sleep in her room. Instead she now has her daytime naps downstairs on the large floor cushion or in her rocker. I think she doesnt get into such a deep sleep downstairs with things going on so sleeps deeper and longer at night.

Funny how a few months ago we found she slept better at night with daytime naps upstairs

Ive added some xmas themed pics of Abigail to our Facebook group

Isaidkissmeunderthemistletoe · 16/12/2008 15:56

Poppy is def ready to start the blw - I caught her eating an envelope today

There's an update thread on the facebook group and new photos from me and some others.

Anyone who's not a member look for the July 08 mumsnet babies group.

HI All,

Been really busy and we have all had the horrible cold so not posted for a while. Poor Calvin has a rattling cough but manages to smile through it .

Was down at the Ils for 2 nights - had a rotten cold so thankfully couldn't taste my MIL's cooking . DDs routine wnet out of the window despite my protestations so she has been awful the last few days - overtired=overwrought and a nightmare! She had to be up early this am to go to her Christmas theatre show so I put her staright to bed when she got home and she slept for 3 hours and woke up all nice again She needs loads of sleep. Also I am quite strict - ie about shoes on furniture, no standing on chairs, sofa etc, no jumping on beds etc etc. MIL was constantly undermining me and said to me that it was her house so her rules Thus, she will never have the kids without us being there too.

Caught up with some old friends and colleagues and was having a lovely time until my exbf turned up got pissed and made a big melodramatic scene - the main reason we parted company was that she always had to be centre of attention and was incredibly self-centered - took me years to see that though. To the point that she actuallty rushed through her wedding in secret so that she would be married the week before us What's that all about? Was still nice to see everyone though.

Calvin has had rice and banana now and that went down a treat. he hasn't been having so much solids recently as he has had so much mucus with the cold and is quite sicky again.

What are you all doing for Xmas? We are staying home just the 4 of us - having a traditional dinner for the first time in years.

Who's littlies have all got teeth now then? None here yet and no more rolling - he does like to stand though -aided of course, and sat up himself today for the first time - wobbling then keeled over - was very funny.

Sorry not replied to individual posts - can't remember who said what now but take care allxxxx

merrykittymas · 16/12/2008 21:31

Hey Rumpel so that was inlaws as in Saltcoats inlaws? I was down there on Saturday to see BFs new baby, utterly gorgeous BTW, anyway we went a wee wander down the town, had a laugh at Sports and Rainwear (for anyone that doesn't know this shop is a legend, for years the guy had two shops about 5 doors apart in the one street both only ran by him, so you would go in and ask for say trainers in a size 4 and he would say wait a minute there in the other shop and run down open the shop and get you them), I digress oh and the Kandy Bar, Starks and of course the Metro.

Sorry to hear you have been hit by the snot bugs too, has anyone not had it? ExBF and MIL sound like nutters too.

No teeth here yet I can feel them under the gums though, 22 weeks today, no solids as yet but she is watching us eat a lot right enough she is watching us do everything. She met Santa today for the first time too, she was dressed as Santa too very cute.

Love Poppys pictures isaidno, you finally get to do the party dress thing too

Otter - where can I get that vaccine Bethany currently under her playgym having been upstairs asleep.

pigley - good news about Abigails sleeping too long may it continue

cass - any chocolate truffles left sling them my way, I have to buy the DDs nursery teachers presents tomorrow, theres at least 6 of them 3 for 2 time at Boots I think.

Jodie - hope your cold is better, are you still BFing I don't know how is and who isn't, I have to admit I have sneaked a few Lemsips in the past few days, needs must and all that.

pigleypudding · 16/12/2008 21:53

Kitty- I thankfully seem to have missed to so far - Think Im more immune working with hundreds of kids for the past 9 years!

Rumpel- No teeth yet but loadsa dribbling, rosey reds and runny poo's. Think it feels (when she lets me) a little sharp at the top so maybe soon!

Otter- Wow! thats alot sleep!

Well I fell down the stairs about an hour ago! Thankfully I had just put Abigail to bed so wasn't carrying her! I grazed my elbows and my side is pretty tender at the mo so guess ill be black and blue in the morning! Ouch ouch

merrykittymas · 16/12/2008 22:04

ouch pigley hope you are OK

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 16/12/2008 22:21

Hi all, still recovering and having bad nights sleep, but getting better, thanks SK for asking! (and no, I'm not BF)

Ouch Pigley, hope you are OK in the morning.

Not really much to add really, but thought I'd pop in to say hello.

merrykittymas · 16/12/2008 22:23

Was just asking as if your not you can get all doped up with Boots finest. I find that always helps a cold.

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 16/12/2008 22:25

I know, thank god for lemsip (and red wine!)

merrykittymas · 16/12/2008 22:27

oh yes red wine a must

Poledra · 16/12/2008 22:35

God, I am a Bad Person, but can I please let it all out here so no-one in RL gets to know??

With my consent, DH has invited his uncle for Christmas as he will otherwise be on his own (long story involving the uncle's ungrateful family). I am really cheesed off about it - I don't mind having an extra person for Christmas Day, but he has to come and stay as we live too far away. So I will have to fit 4 extra adults and 3 dogs into a 3-bedroom house with a family of 5 already living there. I know it's the right thing to do and I would hate to think of the uncle being all on his own, but I just need to whinge about how crowded things are going to be. I don't know the uncle that well (as we live so far away ) so it means I won't be able to totally relax in my own home over Christmas .

There, that feels better. I am a very small-minded selfish person, I know - come and beat some sense into me.

RumpeliciousChristmasWishes · 16/12/2008 22:50

Tee hee POLEDRA - poor you Xmas is a bummer sometimes the GUILT the GUILT! Try and make him feel welcome and just bugger off to you room and leave DH to deal with him when it gets too much

SK - yep Sunny Saltcoats - we actually drove down Glasgow Street (my old flat) and to the harbour to see the new flats etc and then drove through Saltcoats to see what it was like my old work is an estate agents now! Oh God you can feel the depression hitting you as soon as you reach Dalry!!!! Am so so so so so GLAD we don't live there anymore What did your BF call the baby? Are you broody again now? My head is constantly battling it out pros and cons etc etc.

Must go to bed - am sipping red vino as we speak hoping it will help me sleep as major insomnia here again remember the first 3 months of pg and insomnia?

Have just bought probiotics and EFA omega 3s off ebay as am terrified of getting that sick/dairrhoea bug that's doing the rounds.

Nite allxxxxxxx

thefacefullofxmaspuddingchef · 17/12/2008 05:54

Hi all, thought i'd say hi as i'm up at this ungodly hour. ds has a horible cold, his eyes are all yucky and the poor thing won't take any calpol, he just throws it back up.....he is currently watching Mickey Mouse, I should be in bed!!! I don't normally have to surface until 8 ish
Megan sleeps 8-8 every night, but with this cold I had to wake her at 1030am yesterday!
Lazy little minx.
She's now rolling from back to front, but not front to back. She will sit up with a little support, loves her bumbo and loves bouncing in her door bouncer and being swung by her older brother boys eh!
weaning have tried a few tastes, but shes not that interested atm.
Had a scan thro posts, everyones lo's are doing so well. Right off to have a look at Facebook and those new photos you've all posted...

Isaidkissmeunderthemistletoe · 17/12/2008 07:44

Poledra - is there not a nearby travelodge or similar? They're quite cheap - you could send some people there (and the dog!!)
My in laws are coming up boxing day and would normally stay the night but now the only spare bed is an air bed or the sofa so they won't. I won't move out of my bed and my excuse is it's not safe to co sleep on an air bed or sofa.

pigley - poor you; hope you're not hurting too much!

RumpeliciousChristmasWishes · 17/12/2008 11:24

The vomity bug has landed bleurgh!!!!

pigleypudding · 17/12/2008 14:42

Rumpel- Oh no! Poor you

Poledra- Not a bad person.. Thought of all those people in my house would drive me crazy!

Puddingchef- Glad things are good for you.. apart from DS's cold that is.

Just returned from meeting DH for his lunch hou. We went to a nice pub for lunch and Abigail enjoyed seeing Daddy.

Well after my tumble down the stairs yesterday I am rather black and blue.. Thankfully no where to noticeable! I have really sore carpet burns on my elbows that I keep catching but It appears to be my bottom that took most of the brunt... thats a lovely purply blue colour!

Right off for a nice cuppa whilst Abigails asleep.

cass66 · 17/12/2008 20:26

Hi girls. I am feeling very smug. (and tired). I have made chocolate truffles for the girls teachers (main teacher each, teaching assistant each and head) and wrapped them in pretty cellophane and tissue paper tonight. And written my xmas cards, that I have been avoiding for weeks (not sure why?).

And if hubby comes home early tonight I might get out to a friends for xmas nibbles and drinks. civilised!

Ed is now waking twice a night - at midnight then 4-5ish. I'm a bit fed up with it really, esp as I go back to work in feb and need to be mentally alert++. Lets hope he grows out of it.

Last day of school tomorrow - yeah! the girls are shattered, the bags under their eyes could not get any darker, despite getting 12 hours sleep.

My younger daughter asked father xmas for some Lego last weekend. out of the blue. so I've been on ebay and bought some. I hope it arrives for xmas now!!

disneystar · 17/12/2008 22:00

libraladytistheseason2bjolly · 17/12/2008 22:19

Hi all,

Sorry for going AWOL for a few days. Thankfully you guys haven't been too chatty.
Poledra for you having a houseful. I do sympathise.
Sorry to thise with colds and vomitting bugs. How the hell I haven't caught the cold I will never know. All my family have been ill with it and both the boys and my parents have been on antibiotics. I'm still muddling though (on my own as DH is away once again), am knackered and really low, but have so far managed to avoid it. You wait, I'll finish for Christmas on Christmas Eve and wake up with it on Christmas Day knowing my luck!
Anyhow, we had our decision meetings yesterday and I'm to be made redundant. Pretty pissed off really as I'm the main breadwinner so will have to update my CV and get looking for work again.
Ho hum.

Luke not interested in solids whatsoever. Was planning on BLW at Christmas but after speaking to the HV this morning, she says maybe he's not ready and will do on just his milk. He's 26 weeks next week. Don't know what to do for the best. Anyone have any odea how quickly the iron levels start to diminish on milk only after 6 months?

Hope everyone is OK and looking forward to the festivities.
