Just typed a lovely long message and Wallis wiped it .

Well you may have guessed it but have finally got our kittens. Wallis and Gromit are now safely ensconced in our home. Picked them up yesterday and they are already ruling the roost. Sam is so excited he can't leave them alone.

Disney am always thinking of both you and Sam. Hope you keep in touch when you have a chance, and don't forget to let us know sbout Sam's 1st birthday party. We're all looking forward to the special day.

Sorry guys that I haven't been on in ages. So much to do and so little time. DH has been away endlessly for weeks. We are literally ships that pass in the night at weekends as we are both so tired.

Had Luke's baptism on Sunday and had a really lovely day. Caught up with some very old friends. Also went out for a meal on Saturday night for my Dad's 70th birthday. Made especailly nice as my cousin from North Wales (well Chester really) came down for the Christening and surprised my Dad by coming for the meal as well. Unfortunately my brother asn SIL didn't make it from London as SIL was really ill.
Hopefully they are going to make it this weekend instead.

Had some pretty crap news on Tuesday. We've all been told we are at risk of redundancy. Our work is being offshored to India and we need to streamline our workforce by virtually half. Had 1:1s to discuss our preferences before going into the selection pool and evaluated. Will know our exact fate on Tuesday next. Great timing or what.

My Nan had a stroke two weeks ago and the acre home were so concerned. We all thought it was the end but she's bounced back again. I'm sure she wants to reach 101 [fgin]

I do try to keep up with the goings on but find I only have time o skim every couple of days and by the time I do get to post (like tonight) I've forgotten what everyone has been up to.

Anyhow, better close for now as my bed is calling me.

Oh, and my score...................43

libralady · 11/12/2008 21:29

Oh, I forgot, Luke finally rolled on Tuesday night - once and hasn't done it again. He's 24 weeks now and we haven't started on solids as yet, although he did have a suck on my melon starter on Saturday. Nothing was consumed though apart from a lot of saliva

Momma23 · 11/12/2008 22:09

libralady
Hope the news on Tues will be good...Scary times with all that is going on..

I think i am the only one that has not started solids yet!!!! Dont think she is ready for it yet, so will hold of for a little while. Plus DP (dont know what he was thinking) put the highchair in the attic on sunday!!!!

merrykittymas · 11/12/2008 22:29

Evening all from the lurgy house, so DD2 has been ill since Monday, this morning her eyes were so gunked she wouldn't open them for half and hour, she kind of wails between crying as she's ill and sleeping. Of course DD1 has it as well but she's been not as bad then yesterday I get it too. It's a weird kind of thing not a traditional sore throat runny nose virus, just messes with your temperature and floors you. Feel much better today which is just as well as I have big girls night out tomorrow night.

My Mother came to visit yesterday too which cheered me up no end commented on how big B had gotten (well that last time you seen her she was 10 days old) and wasn't it amazing she was rolling over (erm she has been doing that since 3 months)

Incidentally was looking at footage of DD1's first Christmas and she was nowhere near rolling (July baby too) I think B must be gifted and talented at rolling

momma23 - not started solids here either am waiting until the New Year

libralady - wow it's all happening with you, about the redundancy thing, will keep fingers crossed for you, will they look at voluntary redundancy first? Loves the cats names Glad your Nan is better too she it a steely woman

Jodie - hope you are feeling better soon too

bebe - poor you maybe you should get DH to tie a hand behind his back then try and care for P to give him an idea of waht you are going through. I would go back to my GP break down in floods of tears and say you cannot care for your baby and need to see someone asap.

Isaidkissmeunderthemistletoe · 12/12/2008 07:37

momma23- no solids here yet; Poppy is 25 weeks.
tjuice- not looking forward to the poos...
libralady- what a shitty time to have poss redundancy thrown at you; not that there is ever a good time I suppose. Cats names are fab!

Just an update on DH's snip - all back to normal now - we "tested" that everything was in working order last night!

merrykittymas · 12/12/2008 12:57

I took B out in the P&T today in the front and propped her up for the first time and she loved it, she looked so small and cute had all the old ladies cooing over her, I think she loved being able to see everything and everyone, she is so nosy.

Feeling better today thankfully have treated myself to a killer pair of heels for tonight, will be hobbling tomorrow now, so not used to heels these days

Need to get pumping this afternoon.

Loads to do must dash

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 12/12/2008 14:05

M2L - I've got the Pliko Car Seat and I think it's OK, head never been a problem, although when Sam was little I had to use supports that I got from Mothercare.

SK - Glad you feel better, maybe I'll feel OK tomorrow? I've dropped DS's off at MIL and have come back to bed! DS1 had a really bad night, and ended up in with me, and both boys were awake at 5 not what yhou need when you're poorly

Can someone please tell me why I have just sobbed my way through a labour scene in a film, I got so sad that I won't do it again

libraladytistheseason2bjolly · 12/12/2008 21:44

Evening all,

Where has everone gone today?

Thanks for the sympathies, but to be honest I'm trying to be philosophical (sp) about my job. Ive been with the company over 20 years so I'll get a pretty decent payout. For whoever was asking I work for one of the big Banks (the one that has refused bail out by the gov, instead going to the Sheiks in the Middle East) and has a turquoise logo.
Funnily enough I work as part of the Redundancy Team, so if I was to go, I would be one of the last as would be needed to do everyone else's first
But I am training on Data Protection as well, which is extremely interesting and I know that part of the business isn't being offshored due to the complexity, so you never know!
DH has finally made it home for the weekend. We're planning on putting up some deccies as DS1 wants them. They'll probably come down again on Sunday though once the kittens have had a field day with them.
DS1 had his school play on Wednesday and it was fab. He played the old man who owned the donkey before selling it to Joseph (yes I know......) anyway he had a dress rehearsal on Tuesday and came home with makeup on (beard) and refused to have it washed off as he needed it for the play the next day. Had to explain that they would do his make up again, bless him.
Anyway, the reception class were brilliant. Can't believe the improvement in a year from his nativity at preschool.
Looking forward to a weekend as a family (for once) before DH heads off again next week. Honestly I'm thinking of issuing divorce papers and citing DH's company as the third party .
Right better go as DH now out of the shower and we want to catch up with Grey Anatomy.
Hope everyone is OK, I've only skimmed the posts. Huge hugs to everyone and I'll try to upload some photos of Wallis and Gromit.

libraladytistheseason2bjolly · 12/12/2008 21:46

Photos now added to profile and I've got a christmassy name. Trying to get into the spirit of things

pigleypudding · 12/12/2008 23:01

Hi all.

Ive been lurking for a few days now but never seem to get the time to post.

I'll try my best to catch up;

Disney- please do pop back in occasionally to keep us updated. I completely understand you wanting more family time and im sure you will all have a fab xmas and if we dont speak to you before have an excellent time on your hols!
Hugs for Sam.

Bebe- Hope you get something done about your arm soon- Private or not.

TJuice- Those poo's sound delightful!

Libra- Love the kittens names very cute too.
Sorry to hear about the possible redundancy but like you say after 20 odd yrs should get get a nice pay out if you do.

Momma23- We arent on solids yet either. Abigail is one of the younger ones here and is 20 weeks. We intend to wake for 26 weeks.

SK- Hope your enjoying your night out

Update here:
Abigails 20 weeks now and weighs 13lb 12.5ozs
Shes dribbling for England and has had rosy red cheeks for a few days... think I can feel a little tooth about to poke through at the top.
Shes attempting to roll now (back to front) gets onto her side and tries to go over but not quite!
Shes excellent at sitting up unaided now.She reaches out for toys without losing her balance and flaps her hands about when excited without falling over- very impressive

Shes doing well in her own room and cot now. Still waking 2/3 times a night but usually goes off better after each feed. Annoying that each night feed is only about 2/3 ozs- Is it worth waking for that?

Abigail is an incredibly cheeky little monkey that sticks her toungue out in a cheeky fashion which Greatnan adores!

cass66 · 13/12/2008 01:13

hey guys, been out dancing tonight, so am a bit sozzled, bear with me!!!

Ed is now on 2 meals a day. screams for food. hasn't dropped any milk feeds though, still on 7 a day and 1 or 2 at night. will get red wine flavoured milk at 3am today.

no rolling, though I'm not worried about it, the girls didn't roll until late. He looks very grown up in his high chair though!! where has my baby gone??? cass

minipinkscottish · 13/12/2008 08:50

Hi all

Abbie is 6 months old today
Doesn't seem like any time at all since June 13th when she arrived 5 weeks early, She has been quite poorly for a few days with croup...poor wee thing. So lots of steam and calpol.

Abbie can now sit unaided for about 10 seconds until she realises she's doing it and gets so excited she falls over
She now weighs 15lb 4oz and has 2 solid feeds a day but still has as many bf

pigleypudding · 13/12/2008 09:33

Woohoo!

fab night last night 8-5-7 !!
She then came into our bed for a cuddle before falling asleep again about 8.15 till 9.15....of course i joined her

Off to visit friends in Essex today and thier 2 girls who havent seen Abigail since she was 10 days old.

Crap weather outside.. Blowing a gale and tipping down.

Cass- I agree ! They are growing up so quickly!

Minipink- Happy 6mths to Abbie! Thats flown by! They look so grown up sitting up dont they. Abigail lasts about 10/15 minutes before getting tired.

I wondering if she will be a bum shuffler instead of a crawler as she its overly keen on being on her front but loves sitting up.

mama2leah · 13/12/2008 10:24

jodie, wat support did u use?
did u not fidn the head comin forward at all, when he falls asleep? never touching the chest?

i goggled in reviews, and found it a common problem ..hmmm

im considering buyin a NEw carseat, btu pissed out as got the pramette, becoz it was a travel system!

disneystar · 13/12/2008 23:55

hi guys just want to say hi
ive skimmed the post and wow pigley abigails sitting up what a star
weve been accepted or rather sam has to a special nursery with sensory rooms and we can have respite care if needed but tbh i cant let anyone else have him right now either im scared or im just mean and plain wont share LOL
its a nursery for birth to 5 i can go everyday if i want and leave samuel in his special seat and they watch him while i have a coffee in next room but i can see him through the magic window
im more accepting that he is different now than i was before and there are lots of terminal babies and children there all happy and parents all happy i guess we have to be to survive and lets face it whilst our children are here we are happy and wheres theres life theres hope
at times in the day i have to take huge breaths in as i actually choke if i let my mind wander so its best i keep busy really
samuel is happy and sings away to me i was playing n singstar yeah i know im a big kid really and when i sing he sings its so funny
i reckon he tries to block my sound out
wow sk did you say your mom came round to see b if mine ever did them pigs sure would be flying in the sky
take care guys xxxx

merrykittymas · 14/12/2008 08:47

hi all wow been quiet in here we must all be too busy with Christmas tasks

We have had a hard week, big two have been ill all week now I have the cold.

My night out on Friday was fab, I had a glass of chmapagne and 4 of wine stayed up dancing until after 1am with a dress on and killer heels and everything

Yesterday we went to see my best friends new baby he is lovely but when you see a newborn next to Bethany you realise how alert and how much she has grown. My friend was sad that she has had to give a few bottles as she wanted to BF so I'm trying to think of ways to support her.

DP and I were also laughing at their first time parent-ness, they were holding the baby as if he was glass and they had had about 3 hours sleep the previous night. I'm sure DP and I were exactly the same with DD1.

Bethany is fine she is now attepting to pull herself along the floor on her front, the other day she had moved off her changing mat and was eating the wipes!

Hope everyone else is doing OK, special hugs to disney and Sam x

Isaidkissmeunderthemistletoe · 14/12/2008 09:21

Morning all.
Can't beleive Christmas is nearly here. I've done everything, just want to get to the 25th now!

Poppy is 25 weeks now - how fast time flies. She can't roll, but can sit quite well, unaided for a minute perhaps. (Not as good as Abigail!) She is smiley and happy. Last few days she has been feeding loads, last night she was working really hard to get all she could! (I am still exc bf) I was quite surprised she slept from 715pm to 615am! (Then back to sleep til 815am!) She sleeps through about twice a week on average.

cass - you have too much social life! Wasn't it you posting pissed last week??
SK - glad you had a nice time.
I'm going out for a meal on Wednesday, shame it's a school night!

M2L - I wouldn't buy a new car seat - you will need the next stage one in a few months anyway. It is far better for your baby's back and neck to be the pushchair part than the car seat, so I wouldn't worry about the travel system aspect. Just use the car seat when you are in the car, not on top of the pram iykwim.

Anyway M2L - you can buy a new baby car seat when you have number 2!!! Very soon if this is right....

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 14/12/2008 09:58

M2L - I agree with Isaid, no point in getting a new car seat, she'll be needing a bigger on in 4 months anyway. I used this But both my boys have/had amazing neck control from birth, so maybe why I've never had a problem. I also never used it on top of the buggy, it just stays in the car.

DH had a bonus paid friday from work (I know we are so lucky, he wasn't expecting it) so he went and bought a second hand Wii, we got a bargain I reckon, £200 for Wii sports, Wii Fit and Mario Cart! 'Played' on Wii Fit last night, (in between watching X Factor) and it's really good!

SK Glad you had a good night last night

Cass am of your antics!!

Good to hear from you Disney that nursery sounds lovely for Samuel....

Gotta go, Sam woken up
xx

pigleypudding · 14/12/2008 12:15

Another fab night here- late night as we were visiting friends so 10-3-7

So happy as thats 2 nights in a row of only 1 feed. ( we were getting used to 3 a night!)
Long may it continue!!

Visit to our friends was great. Their 2 girls as sooo excited about Xmas! Abigail had the biggest poo in the world that went right up to her shoulders! Which of course the girls thought this was hilarious!

Disney- Sams nursery sounds fab, Im sure he will love it! Prob be nice for you to chat to the other mums too

SK- Your night out sounds fab!
I wasnt invited to my works party this year.. even though im on maternity leave im still technically working there
No excuse to dress up for me- Id love to wear a nice dress and heels.

M2L - agree about just buying a headhugger and not a new carseat. My carseat is a travel system too but usually just stays in the car as I prefer her to lay out in the carrycot. We already have the next size carseat for when shes ready. A britax first class one.

Jodie- Lucky you with the Bonus! Wii is great fun!

Poledra · 14/12/2008 13:15

Just got to post to get this back on my 'Threads I'm On' list. All is well here, the DDs are not quite as snotty as they were before. My parents were her last week for their Christmas visit, so got lots of help tidying up and cleaning ready for my in-laws coming for the actual day.

Very of babies sleeping through the night, O still wakes 3 or 4 times for milk. We moved her big cot into our room and put her in that from Thursday last week, but it hasn't improved things. She goes 8-11, then takes about an hour to settle back into the cot then she's up again sometime around 2. I would give folding money for more than 3 hours sleep at a time . She rolled from her back onto her front for the first time today!! At least, I think she did as I had left her on her front under the baby gym but I was nitcombing the older two so wasn't watching every move O made. Suddenly, she was on her front!

Best go, sounds like the older ones are bouncing on their beds which is Not Allowed!

Poledra · 14/12/2008 13:16

PS haven't got nits, just making sure

TINSELJuice · 14/12/2008 20:13

hi ladies
hope you had a good weekend.

poledra - back to front, pretty agile!
pigley - LOL at abbie's poo

well, elodie still cackling and clutching her feet here. She can sit unaided now and only very occasionally topples. Still hates being on tummy, although Baby einstein can keep her head up for a relatively long time, if its on the laptop or tv in front of her.

On Sat, i made roast dinner with a bunch of friends and E went to sleep in her carrycot in a noisy bedroom. So nice - we drank wine until the wee hours and we took her home and transferred her to her cot, no probs.

Today, we went to the birthday brunch of our friend's 3 year old and she was in a great mood and being passed around, without tears. I think she is coming through her recent clinginess period (she was crying when other people picked her up).

Back to the UK on thursday! Can't wait!

we need a round of new pics on facebook - i want to see Bethany and Poppy and everyone's bubs.

merrykittymas · 15/12/2008 14:59

Quiet in here today

Got rotten cold now

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 15/12/2008 15:30

Hey SK - Yep I've a sticking cold too, it's the pits isn't it! Sam took ages to settle last night (but then went 10-5.30, so wasn't too bad) but DS1 was up 10.30, 1.00, 2.30, agghhh, I swear this house should have shares in Calpol and kleenex! How are your DD's feeling now? I read on a news page that NHS Direct have been inundated with calls about flu like symptoms in Children.

Just been to pick DS1 up from Pre-School christmas party, he was full of it! They had the 'animal man' there (the guy who brings spiders and snakes etc) and also a balloon modeller and magician. Then of course the Big Man himself! DS1 wasn't too sure about him so I had to go in with him, but he was chuffed with his pressie and a chocolate!
