SK Tjuice - You are so lucky with your mini periods! My first one was last month and I gushed like Niagra! Much heavier than ever before - more like lochia! I hope it doesn't continue like that!

SK - we too have only used the withdrwal method for the last 15 yreas . Silly I know, but it has always worked for us, and I always said that if I had another baby it would be OK anyway. (secret hankering for 3 all these years) Never got pregnant when it wasn't planned. This time I KNOW I don't want another so DH is definitely not coming near me without tons of protection! It sounds like you half want to have another anyway, you mad thing you!

Bebe - no presents is a good idea. I feel ridiculous getting stuff for Rory but have to do it for the other DC's sake. I am only getting things he needs anyway - and mostly from ebay. Sorry about your arm - mine is the opposite - Huge agony in my shoulder rather than numbness. I can hardly lift Rory and can't sleep at night with the pain. It came on pretty suddenly a couple of days ago, but I don't know how on earth I'm going to fix it as it's impossible to rest it with a 4 month old and no help around. Grrrr... Huge sympathy for you.

Rumple - glad nursery went well. Brave you! Name great - can't think of one myself. might just use last year's. Loving all the other names too. SK - like merryKITTYmas best.

sweetkitty · 05/12/2008 10:42

Morning all just back from visiting a prospective school for DD1 (my baby is going to school next year sob sob), B was so well behaved sat in her car seat listening then fell asleep.

Tough night last night again, B up 3 times, DD2 up 23 times I think!

EEC - I agree re the presents it's only for the other two really that why I have bought things I would have probably bought in a few weeks anyway (bibs, weaning stuff etc)

Four DC would be insane, I know it's the babies that are so lovely but they don't stay babies forever they turn into toddlers and beyond. Another pregnancy scares me, it's far too painful (probably more for people around me having to hear me moan)!

Using old name for the moment for want of a better one...

No longer live in France but Rory was made there!

thrEEfrenChhens · 05/12/2008 10:48

xpost SK. Poor you up all night - R back to his twice a night routine at the mo.

People coming for the w/e - house a tip - baby asleep - what am I doing? MN

pigleypudding · 05/12/2008 11:45

Morning all,

EEC- Abigail was made in France too! In Paris

Sorry to hear about your bad night SK. Abigail too was up 3 times last night!

Shes just gone down for a nap in her cot... get used to it ready for her first night in it tonight where shes going to sleep 8-8

Isaidkissmeunderthemistletoe · 05/12/2008 18:04

What am I to do all evening?
Poppy flaked out in bed - at 5:45pm!! She wouldn't have a nap after 1pm so was exhausted. She keeps doing this lately - problem is she then wakes up for feeding about 1am and 5am. Still, at least she settles straight back to sleep after a bit of booby!

pigley - hope Abigail does as she's told and sleeps 8 - 8 in her cot!

Like all the xmas names so far - let's have more!

minipinkscottish · 05/12/2008 18:14

hi all

SK - at your pg scare....but it would have been nice really wouldn't it?

I am back on the pill even though not happy with it....been on and off for too long over the years and before Abbie I fell pg while bf and taking pill
Although I know I couldn't have any more I know I will feel sad when Abbie gets older and stops bf....I would have babies forever if I could

DS4 still not too well but at least docs have ruled out anything serious although it is not post viral thing as they though. We now think his asthma is worse than we realised and so it is being treated to see if that makes a difference to his general health. Poor wee lamb

Disney many many congratulations to you and your dd...great news

gillythekid · 05/12/2008 20:01

Congrats Disney how lovely! I never get on here and now you've all changed your names, it's thrown me completely! How is everyone? Sympathies to all with broken sleep, Nate has gone back to waking before his 11pm feed and at around 3am too so I'm knackered and counting the days till we move home to Liverpool as PND is quite overwhelming some days.
TJ Glad Elodie is doing well, lucky you having your mum around, mine is great with Nate but crap with me!

mcchesnuts · 05/12/2008 22:37

anyone here? ok sleep first ask questions later..zzzz

pigleypudding · 05/12/2008 23:01

Im still up-- Just about awake!

Had a lovely afternoon with my Danish friend, eating even more danish cake!
I swear shes trying to fatten me up!

Have my ear stuck to the monitor tonight as Abigail is alseep in the cot in her room for the first time. It seems so strange and will be oddly quiet in our room tonight!

cass66 · 06/12/2008 00:52

OK. I am a bit pissed. been at a friends for a xmas get together and singstar - me and Alison rocked as the Cure to 'just like heaven'. sorry thing much else useful to say!!!

CilC · 06/12/2008 06:43

Just catching up on thread.... Surprised that so many people have their periods back...I still have not had anything, had sort of forgotten about them. I am breastfeed/formular 50/50. Hmmm....have been feeling abit off colour also.... (my enter key has stopped working on computer). Gave Raff his first food yesterday and he gulped it all down! He ate an entire pot of banana porridge! Was just going to give him a few mouthfulls but he kept going! No repercussions so far. He slept from 8pm and is still not awake (6.45am). I am up though as have been checking on him. My keypad is really playing up now - the letters are not all matching up. netter go and will catch up later.

Isaidkissmeunderthemistletoe · 06/12/2008 07:35

cilc - no periods here yet. Not expecting them anytime soon. I bf ds1 for 7 mths and my period came at 8 mths and I bf ds2 for 19mths and my period came back at 20 mths. If I bf Poppy forever perhaps I will never be cursed again ....

cass - I love singstar - have to be pissed though! DH and I do video killed the radio star. Hope you haven't got a headache this morning.

gilly - sorry to hear the pnd is still bad; I'm sure being back home with more support will help xx How is the bf going?

pigley - how did your first night in seperate rooms go? You prob got no sleep, but you soon get used to it and relax!

Poledra · 06/12/2008 10:35

Morning all
What a beautiful sunny day we have here today - always make me feel better. Struggling a bit on the sleep front just now - as we are still a House of Snot, I have the other DDs up as well as O every night. I really do not know how you do it, SK, my older two are usually good sleepers so I only have O through the night. However, DD2 is more or less over it now, O is clearing the snot out (all over my breasts usually ) so only DD1 is still really suffering.

CilC, no periods here yet. have always stayed away for the duration of bfing. With DD2, started on Cezarette while still bfing, so no periods till we started TTC DD3. Off to the docs in a couple of weeks to sort out contraception, and still do not know whether to go with mirena, implant or just the Cezarette again (worked really well for me). Isaid, have carefully not mentioned your DH's poor nads to my DH as still think the snip would be a good idea. How is her BTW (never thought I'd be asking after the health of a stranger's husband's bollocks on t'internet )?

Disney woohoo, may congratulations to your dd, glad to hear all went well. What a lovely Christmas, two new babies to coo over.

Loving all the Christmas names BTW! Right, off to get the DDs dressed (why do children love running around in their PJs? I hate it - have to get dressed as soon as I get up. Was the only person on my post-natal ward who got dressed every day).

Poledra · 06/12/2008 10:37

How is he, I mean! For a change, MNing while pushing the pram back and forwards rather than bfing . Still means one-handed typing!

Isaidkissmeunderthemistletoe · 06/12/2008 11:05

He's still hobbling a little, but should be able to go back to work Monday.Swelling subsided and bruising gone down. Still on the painkillers though. It is supposed to be a simple procedure! He says if it hasn't worked when he has to send the sample in for testing he's not having a second go!!!
He doesn't regret having it done though - it means we can enjoy our sex life (when we have time ) without worrying about pregnancy. I didn't want to go on pill as I have been on it for about 15 years in total. Didn't fancy coil, hate condoms. We have 3 lovely dc and have decided that's enough.

pigleypudding · 06/12/2008 12:15

Hi ladies

one handed typing whilst scoffing a cheese and bacon panini - yumm!!!

well Abigails first night in the cot in her own room went ok. Slep 9-1 then 4.50 when she stayed awake till about 6 then off again till about 9.
I think she enjoys having more room as at one point during her awake period I went in and she had turned 180 in the cot! -and whilst wearing a sleeping bag!

I def felt I slept better and in a deeper sleep IFYWIM. Felt odd not having her shuffling and snuffling in my ear!

Well we are putting the decs up today. Abigail is sitting in her bumbo covered in Tinsel, tyring to eat it! She seems very interested in the tree.

Abigail seems to have another cold too with a streaming nose but this time it doesnt seem to be bothering her too much.

cass66 · 06/12/2008 13:52

yes, I have a hangover. but it was good, needed to let my hair down and relax.

was worried what I had written last night. I must NOT post while drunk. write it out 100 times!!!

off to get some fresh air.

sweetkitty · 06/12/2008 15:51

Afternoon all brrr it is very cold here today, put up some outside decorations today, nothing too tacky (DP won't let me) just a real tree with lights and some icicle lights too, B sat in the doorway in her swing and a snowsuit on.

Bethany is fine no snot here, decided to stay up with us until 11 last night and was up 3 times in the night too hence I feel a bit tired today.

minipink - DP definitely wants another but as he said his part is easy and he can still go out to work it's me thats left with them 75% of the time, if only you could preorder one out a catalogue for Christmas like turkey and have it delivered instead of going through the misery of pregnancy. I would order a cute, sleeping through the night one please. Hope your DS4 feels better today bless him.

gilly - sorry to hear about the PND, I definitely have some and should be on ADs but haven't got round to it, I also suffer from SAD

cass - yey hangover good for you

Poledra - Whats Cezarette, a type of pill? I haven't been on the pill since TTC#1 and that was March 2003 , we have used condoms since although most of the time since then I have been pregnant, TTC or BFing.

isaidno - your poor DH but once everythings back to normal it will be fine and great to know you don't have to worry about getting pregnant again

pigley - yey good girl Abigail sleeping in her big cot, wasn't a bad first night for you either.

Right best be off DP upstairs playing with the girls, B asleep, I'm supposed to be doing Christmas cards but do you think anyone would notice if I had a nice little nap???

OP posts:
Poledra · 06/12/2008 16:55

Sorry, yes Cezarette is a mini-pill (progesterone only) but it has a 12-hour window for remembering to take it, unlike the older ones. If you search on here, there are a few threads saying how terrible it is, but it's like all these things - it works for some people and not for others.

Just been round Tesco's - grim! I hate supermarket shopping especially at the weekend. DH just left on for his work Christmas night out - if he thinks a hang-over will excuse him from childcare tomorrow, he has another think coming .

merrykittymas · 06/12/2008 21:51

hi it's me SK just trying out my new name

have another bloomin headache but at least all my children are sleeping for now

NotanOtter · 06/12/2008 21:56

merrykittymas · 06/12/2008 22:00

nooooooooooooooooooooo Otter

have been looking into minipill tonight

Isaidkissmeunderthemistletoe · 07/12/2008 07:47

Here is my completely made up formula to assess the likelihood of you being the first pregnant on the thread.

Start with number 20.

Add 5 if you are aged under 30.
Add 1 if you are aged under 35.
Subtract 1 for every year over 40.

Add 5 if you only have 1 child.
Add 2 if you already have 2 children.
Subtract 1 if you have more than 4 children.

Add 3 if you only have children of the same sex.

Add 10 if you are currently using no contraception.
Add 5 if you are using an unreliable method such as withdrawal.
Subtract 5 if your are using pill, coil or similar.
Subtract 50 if you are using complete abstinence or permanent method such as vasectomy.

Add 2 for every time you have had any sexual relations in the past month.

Subtract 20 if you needed medical help to get pregnant last time.

Add 10 if you loved being pregnant.

Add 5 if your dp has expressed a desire for more.

Subtract 5 if you are still bf.
Subtract 5 if your period has not returned.

The higher the score, the more likely you will be next!!

My score is minus 37, so I think I am out of the running!

pigleypudding · 07/12/2008 08:54

oh dear 32!

The decs went up yesterday and Abigail seems fixated by the tree and lights. She loved playing with the tinsel too.

Super chilly and frosty here today but we are off to PIL's house (50 miles away) as its MIL's birthday and we are off out for a meal.
BIL just sent us a link to the resturant which looks rather posh so hoping Abigail behaves herself! - Can you tell the BIL is childless!

Right, best get dressed!
