Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
libralady · 19/11/2008 22:01

Hi,

I am still around but can't really keep up so just lurk from time to time.

Disney we'd be very proud and honoured to come to Sam's 1st birthday party.

Life is really hectic at the mo, but will try and post more often.

Thanks for missing me.

libralady · 19/11/2008 22:04

Just going to copy and paste my long post from earlier on the June thread.
I made a bit of a fool of myself last week.

Sorry for sounding like a petulant cow last week. I hang my head in shame . I was so tired and it seemed everthing was going worng and I felt such a failure.
Anyhow, this week isn't much better at work. In fact I am just waiting for my brown envelope. Can't wait to get out of there to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but it;s the bloody politics. It's got to the point where they want me to do this new job, but won't give me the computer access to do my job fully (aparently there are too many people with this access already). On top of that I keep getting called back to my old team and they are in the sh1t. Makes me wonder what they would do if I'd taken my full 52 weeks mat leave! I wouldn't be at the beck and call. I am so frustrated.
Anyhow, thanks for your sympathies. I really do appreciate it. My HV thinks I'm suffering from PND and maybe I am but I don't want to admit it. I hate not being in control of myself as I am quite an assertive person.
On a lighter note, we went to our local animal sanctuary on Saturday and reserved 2 kittens subject to a home check. I am pleased to say we passed the inspection today and can collect the bundles of fluff on Sunday morning. They are nearly 5 months old, so the same age as Luke
Now all we need is to think of some names. Can you guys come up with any suggestions?
My 2 previous cats were called Benson and Hedges (2 boys) but this time we have a brother and sister but are still after names that go together. I.e. something and something. DH said Lambert and Butler which I think is OK for 2 boys but not a boy and a girl. Any thoughts?
Anyhow, off to catch up with the last few pages again.
Will try and check in again later.
LLxx

isaidno · 20/11/2008 07:36

LL - sorry to hear work is not going so good. Did you think of some kitten names or do you still need help? Do they have to be cigarette related?!!!

pigleychez · 20/11/2008 09:12

Libra How about Ben and Gerri, Rhubarb and Custard, Ebony and Ivory, Jack and Jill, Tom and Gerri.

Momma23 · 20/11/2008 12:30

Hi Ladies
HAve not been on in ages!! DDs are seeing to that DD2 and DD3 are sick with coughs and colds! and sore ears!! really had enough of sickness for this year!

How are all you doing? and the babies??

DD3 is good 5 bottles a day and sleeping with DD1. Going well so far. It was so handy when she was in our room, but she is sleeping better since moving out.

Have to dash DD1 has to be picked up and im late!!! Slap on the hand for me!!!

Hope you are all well and little ones thriving..

Poledra · 20/11/2008 12:38

Oh oh oh minipink, depending on the kittens' colouration, they could be Cider and Black. Or Brandy and Babycham (tho' Brandy's more of a dog's name, IMHO).

isaidno · 20/11/2008 14:10

minipink - cider and babysham reminds me of my foolhardy drinking past! Anyone remember turbo shandy (half lager with a lemon alcopop) or thunder and lightning (thunderbird wine mixed with white lightning cider)? It is a wonder my liver survived!

Anyway, just logged on to say the boiler is fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!

JODIEhadababy · 20/11/2008 14:25

Oh my god, you lot are making me feel sick, many years of hangovers are coming back to me.... Did anyone drink Maddog 2020 eugh.. But grew up on the stuff!

libralady nice to hear from you again and sorry to hear your having a bad time of it at work

momma23 welcome back. We're all snotty here too, it's pants really!

Isaidno whoop whoop at a warm house again!!!! Nice long hot bath for you tonight!

SK Sam's so trying to crawl too, he can get his knees under him and his bum in the air, but then doesn't know what to do after that, then gets all frustrated. If I leave him on the play mat he can move about a metre in about 1 minute, god knows how! I don't want him to move, I will have to have eyes everywhere!!!!!!

Hello everyone else! Hope your having nice days.

isaidno · 20/11/2008 14:37

Jodie - my favourite flavour 20/20 was kiwi and lemon - an evil green drink!

EEC · 20/11/2008 15:31

we called our kittens toffe and fudge (went with their colouring) and our dogs Noah and Nelly - how about Donny and Marie (shows her age) or Bonnie vand Clyde. I could spend hours on this...

isaidno - yeh for the boiler!

R a real terror at the moment. Definitely teething. I wish he was a bit more cuddly as I would love to cuddle him to pieces - nbut he is a real wriggler.

disneystar · 20/11/2008 16:11

sweetkitty · 20/11/2008 16:50

hi all first time I have had a minute all day

mcchesers - I look terrible too, I would do whatever it takes to get the most sleep, cosleeping can be sorted out when they are a bit older

rumpel - where do you get the time and energy to paint? I have a list of rooms I need to paint but just trying to get a few hours to do it although it's never a few hours it's more like the whole day by the time you factor in everything else, I am going to repaint the older two's room as they will be getting bunk beds next year. So far DD1 wants a Bratz duvet and DD2 Scooby Doo so haven't a clue about a theme.

isaidno - I think the bath makes DD2's ezcema worse she only scratches after a bath when she is all red, normally it doesn't bother her. Enjoy your lovely long bath and heating!

libralady - sorry you are having a hard time work wise oh the kittnes front what sexes are they that would help? So far I love Charlie and Lola.

disney - my other two have went straight from boob to cup really easy, DD2 just picked up DD1's and that was it. I was going to make fairy cakes today usually do some cookies once a week too with my "helpers" but went out instead will do them tomorrow I let the DDs decorate them theya re erm very creative usually.

minipink - Diamond White here, White Lightening, Thunderbird, Merrydown, Castaway mixed with Diamond White, oh yes M/D 20/20, you getting a theme here?

momma23 - good to see you sorry you have poorly babies too

Jodie - I'm dreading it with B finally moves too, stairgates back up the works, it's DD1 and 2's toys that will be in the firing line too.

Right best go and sort out dinner

disneystar · 20/11/2008 18:00

SK i have a kitchen island and especially for the children with there aprons and utensils on it so not just for baking but for doing veg and kneading bread etc....
also good for tearing aj away from xbox360 on a weekend hes 8
dh home tonight and has started decorating the dining room
creative design is a great passion of mine and one of my releases is to create a room from a blank
im having the room red and gold and very elaborate laurence llewelyn bowen style
with deep red plush carpets its looking absolutely stunning cant wait for it to be finished then on to the lounge
not everyones style or color in know but i think even though i have dc doesnt mean i have to have bland colors and sensible furniture all the dc respect my things but accidents do happen
off to finish the dinner now no idea where were gonna eat it though....

isaidno · 20/11/2008 18:12

this thread is like a booze memory lane; the diamond white and castaway was known as a blastaway in my drinking circle.

I am lovely and clean now btw!

JODIEhadababy · 20/11/2008 18:25

We liked/like Cheeky Vimto, WKD and Port!

sweetkitty · 20/11/2008 18:26

blastaway thats what it was called isaidno oh happy memories

your dining room sounds like it will be lovely disney and having big family dinners round the table, we didn't have a dinner table growing up and we used to eat dinner in our laps in front of the telly which is really sad now I have a dinner table and we all eat round that much nicer, although I only have 4 chairs so will have to invest in a new one soonish.

sweetkitty · 20/11/2008 18:28

We used to have a bottle of Merrydown before going out, the double vodkas at happy hour in the pub (The Hip Flask for Rumpel) then off to the nightclub (metro) for Kcider and blackcurrant at a £1 a bottle, oh taxi there and back and change out a tenner!
