Hello

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/11/2008 13:55

Can any cloth nappy users remind me, what's the recomended no of washes for new anppies before use?

HollyWeen · 07/11/2008 14:01

Christmas will have to be low key, but the dcs have too much anyway.

3-4 Jammy, but you don't need to dry them between washes.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/11/2008 14:03

thanks Holly, thought that was the case. My new ones are on the 2nd wash, and no I wasn't bothering with drying in between.

Ohforfoxsake · 07/11/2008 14:36

Oh fuck Holly and Mr Holly. That is utterley, utterley shit.

Gross misconduct is the only way to instantly dismiss someone. If someone wasn't going to be kept on at the end of a probation period, they would be reviewed and then let go.

I can't help but wonder if the company is in trouble and there's a 'last in, first out' thinking.
Its worth fighting for a week or months (depending on his contract) salary in lieu of notice at the very least.

educatingRia · 07/11/2008 15:00

I knew foxy would know.

educatingRia · 07/11/2008 15:02

despite the sun I'm having a crap afternoon, had my lunch and a piece of chocolate, and started having a panic attack for no reason.

DH just bought a new mobile with his virgin reward points. There's apretty good value one on their site for DS1 for xmas maybe.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/11/2008 18:19

Sorry for crap afternoon Ria
Hope you can fight for some compensation Holly.
Trip to the park this afternoon with my friend and her 2 DSs. Jamlet did some awesome one handed walking - another stage closer to the real thing And she was very chatty, babbling awat about everything.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/11/2008 18:28

areses for your DH holly . Not what you need just before Christmas.

Ria, sorry to hear about your panic attack

what nappies did you buy Jammy? bamboo might take a few more washes to get to full absorbency.

Took Finbo to the cranial osteopath this morning. He struggled for three hours to get some wind up last night; fed him after the CO and he burped as I sat him up!!! He is now sleeping like a..........well.......baby

but.....we have thrush . No wonder the poor lamb has been struggling with latching on; his whole mouth is coated with it, really thick. I thought it was just milk residue . So we have cream and nystatin but my usual doc is on holiday and the other one wouldn't prescribe the fluc tablets so DH had to go and buy some at £6 each.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/11/2008 18:32

We bought a selection of different prints from this range. They've had 3 washes now, will prob do one more then hang up to dry.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/11/2008 18:34

Glad the CO helped, shame about the thrush though.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/11/2008 18:54

They look nice Jammy; I love bumhuggers. The website says three washes but change more frequently for a few wears until full absorbancy is reached.

TALLULAHBELLE · 07/11/2008 19:22

Hi - sorry about your bad news Holly. Good that you're able to stay positive.

Any budding Kims/Aggies out there? I have dropped a whole bottle of nail polish on my bathroom floor, smashed to smithereens, pink polish everywhere - ceramic tiles. Tried to get it off with nail polish remover (obvious) but isn't shifting. Any ideas what'll get it off?

justbeme · 07/11/2008 19:34

Sorry to hear about your DP Holly - that is terrible! Seems like as ever you've had some good advice here.

Tallulah - how weird that the remover wont work?!! Have you tried the remover with a dish washing scrubber?

Hope youre feeling better Ria?

Daisy, Thrush is horrible, dont you feel itchy on your nips? I did. I think I just had the cream prescribed for me and another for L mouth.

LittleMissNorty · 07/11/2008 19:39

Hi everyone

Holly.......hope things get sorted for you. CAB is a good place to start....you can't sack someone without very good reasons....and not selling enough isn't one of them.

Tallulah - can you get hold of acetone? Working in a lab, that's what I would use, but don't know if you can buy it?

JBM....hope you're felling OK...well done on getting to the GP...think the idea about writing a letter is a fab one that I may nick off you....then perhaps I won't get sent away with "keep yourself busy" remarks.

Hi everyone else...sorry forgotten everything else I was going to say now

LittleMissNorty · 07/11/2008 19:40

feeling that's meant to say

TALLULAHBELLE · 07/11/2008 19:47

Isn't acetone in remover Norty?

TALLULAHBELLE · 07/11/2008 19:47

Isn't acetone in remover Norty?

Bumperlicious · 07/11/2008 20:20

can't stop - prize winning book to write (10,000 words) but just wanted to say a big pile of shit for you Holly! I've been there recently (kind of) so any time you want to vent I'm here (well, somewhere furiously writing away anyway!)

OP posts:
Sputnik · 07/11/2008 20:28

Well done on the 10,00 words Bumper. Are they any good?

HollyWeen · 07/11/2008 20:46

I am SERIOUSLY impressed bumper! 10,000 words is loads. Well done.

Dp is going to the CAB on Monday, I'm sure it is wrong to just be immediately dismissed. He's done nothing wrong. I am trying to keep upbeat and chipper. It's not the end of the world, worse things happen at sea and all that! I just wish it didn't keep happening to us! Oh well!

Sorry about the thrush daisy, that is shit. Hope you can get it cleared up quickly.

JBM, hope you are ok.

Norty, how's it all going? Are you feeling well?

Ohforfoxsake · 07/11/2008 20:59

if you are having a shit day

this thread is hilarious.

have you heard about the one about the neighbour, the gardener, shed and the vinegar ... ROFL

LackaDAISYcal · 07/11/2008 21:52

OOOOOOOOOwwwwwwwww, my nips hurt . I think the thrush is in my ducts as it's like passing razor blades now . Thank god my undercarriage feels almost normal today or pain in all areas would make me very miserable indeed

Some bloody peer supporter I am though; can't even recognise my own problems, and poor Finbo's mouth is covered. He keeps screaming and trying to claw at his face/mouth; it must be sooo sore

sorry, feeling a bit down on myself at the minute . Hopefully things will feel easier tomorrow with the fluconazole tablets.

writing sounds good bumper, although I won't pretend to know what it is you're doing...is it some kind of write-off thing like you did last year?

Ohforfoxsake · 07/11/2008 22:01

ahh Daisy remember, the euphoria is settling, adrenaline running on low, and tiredness setting in. Time to be kind to yourself more than ever now. {{hugs}} for you.

Take it easy

That's an order, by the way. Not a sign off.

Ohforfoxsake · 07/11/2008 22:03

have you got any Dyktarin (I think its called - the gel for LOs mouth?)

HollyWeen · 07/11/2008 22:04

daisy. You poor thing. Looks like it's bad days all round here! I don't know what to suggest other than get lots of rest. Oh and have one of these {{{{HUG}}}}

I PMSL at that thread foxy. 'Tis a classic. I would love to live in a small village with all the scandal and intrigue! It would be like Midsommer Murders, but without the murder!
