Thought as the messages were coming in thick & fast I´d start new thread. Don´t know if it´ll work though. Fingers crossed.

oo.. or a hot water bottle?? VS I really feel for you...

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 09:42

Paramol is paracetamol and codeine is the only remedy for period pain that ever actually helped when I took it because its quite strong. Ibuprofen could help you too.. but I am not allowed to have that...

VictorianSqualor · 05/11/2008 09:43

Ah, co-codamol then. There is no way I can go out. I daren't. I'll ask DP to pick some up on the way home. Hot water bottle is a good idea.

KnitterInTheNW · 05/11/2008 09:46

I've had 1 period since George was born, and that was last month. Before George all periods were very painful on the first day and the only thing that was make the pain ease up was 2 paracetamol, 2 nurofen and a big poo (blush]. Last month though I didn't even get any cramps as a warning, and it wasn't very heavy at all. I'm sure medics would not be impressed at that many painkillers at once but it really was the only thing that made it bearable.

Agree with hot water bottle, or 2 if you have them. One for tummy and one for back.

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 09:46

Hope it eases off soon...

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 09:49

I get really constapated when I start my period.. so agree with Knitter about the poo.

KnitterInTheNW · 05/11/2008 09:50

PFJ, how does Jack still actually fit in his moses basket? I can't imagine George in one now, his arms and legs would be over the sides!

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 09:52

only just Knitter.. it must be a big basket I guess...

VictorianSqualor · 05/11/2008 09:54

Lol, I thought that too. Alex would have got out of it!

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 09:56

I know its time to put him in his cot... its just so easy to have him next to us... Lazy Lazy Lazy! Must resolve to put Jack in cot tonight. o.O

KnitterInTheNW · 05/11/2008 09:58

I'm very excited, a week on Friday we're going down to Taunton to see one of my old nanny families. Haven't seen them for about a year, I was pg last time we went. They haven't met George yet. We're driving as far as Cirencester on Thurs night when G is ready for bed and staying at a travel inn, then going the rest of the way on Fri. Coming back on Sunday at some point. I can't wait!

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 09:59

oooooo Taunton... my Dad was born there

KnitterInTheNW · 05/11/2008 10:00

George is still in our room too, albeit in his cot (most of the time!) Sometimes if we're having a bad night I still put the side down and he sleeps sidecar. We've nearly sorted the spare room out so he'll go in there soon.

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 10:09

I guess its time.. I just love having Jack near me when I sleep. Let us know when you move George to his new room Knitter... We have a small nursery room set up for Jack that leads into our bedroom with no door. So Jack won't be out of earshot or anything. There's no radiator in there though so I'll need to make sure baby is nice and snug.

KnitterInTheNW · 05/11/2008 10:29

The docs surgery are going to sick of the sight of me (and I of them) by the end of the week. We were there twice on monday (once for G, once for my flu jab). Will be there again in an hour (for my medication review) and again tomorrow morning (at 8:20 fgs) for my diabetic review. Quite why I can't have my diabetes medication reviewed at the same time I don't know.

VictorianSqualor · 05/11/2008 10:30

Is there now way you can keep Jack in with you without the basket PFJ?
Personally (especially after Alex practically climbing out of his cot) I'd be worried about the safety of a moses basket now, but there is no reason why he shouldn't stay in with you if that;s what you want.

PeachyFizzesLikeADampSquibb · 05/11/2008 11:26

Knitter

You do know that the roads in Somerset will be a nigtmarefriday yes? The carnival in Bridgwater is that night and it completely clogs the motorways etc up.

Just a warning

(and if youa re there over the weekend consider dropping in on a carnival- Friday and Saturday- and do wave as we will be there)

PeachyFizzesLikeADampSquibb · 05/11/2008 11:29

for knitter

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 11:46

vs if I can get my dp to help this weekend there is a chance we can move furniture around to get the cot next to us.... big job though.. I think you're right though.. I want that.

scorpio1 · 05/11/2008 12:06

Mimi is 17lb 3

good good here!

KnitterInTheNW · 05/11/2008 12:22

Thanks Peachy... just looked at your link and it's the friday after we'll be there. Where's Wells? That's the Friday we'll be there.

KnitterInTheNW · 05/11/2008 12:55

We're going to see George's great grandma for her 101st birthday on saturday.

DonDons · 05/11/2008 13:18

Hi y'all - hope you are all well

Scorpio - hope you are keeping your chin up - bad news about the washing machine.

Ellie - not sure about the peanut thing - had a similar situation last week but ate it all myself chickened out. Love the new hair by the way.

PFJ - I found it difficult to make the break and put Amelie in her own room (about 5 weeks ago now) but I do think that she sleeps better in there and she seems so happy in her cot. (She was far too big for her basket thing by then too).

A is still not taking very much milk at all (about 12oz a day rather than 21 as recommended) but weighed 17lb 8 last week so she is not exactly fading away. She's just eaten past twirls and meatballs in tomato sauce all with her fingers followed by rice pudding. I have a little piggy I think.

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 14:31

Jack just demolished a farleys rusk... the mess is awful though.. had to put a towel down this time! He loved it though.
Hi Dondons.. I want a little piggy too hehe.

VS hope you're feeling better....

LadyBee · 05/11/2008 14:37

Hi all, just checking in - don't have much to say - am feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything still to be done so am procrastinating by watching Property Ladder on catch up TV and eating left over halloween chocolate.
