Thought as the messages were coming in thick & fast I´d start new thread. Don´t know if it´ll work though. Fingers crossed.

Oh sorry not MOM but MHAH wrong initials

ThePFJ · 04/11/2008 21:21

pupd?

ThePFJ · 04/11/2008 21:22

pick up put down?

MommyHasaHeadache · 04/11/2008 21:22

Might have to try that VS - although have to say I am a little apprehensive about it as I have tried PUPD and she just gets hysterical.

Is it normal that she wants so much to eat now? Is she just being a piggy do you think?

MommyHasaHeadache · 04/11/2008 21:24

I tried offering water, and she drank it all (180ml!) and then cried for milk!! It's almost like she is hungrier at night than she is during the day.

PFJ - yes pupd is pick up put down.

EllieG · 04/11/2008 21:28

Yep - pick up put down. Is a Baby Whisperer technique, though I have to say, sometimes it sometimes makes Molly cry more, I have to make sure I use it only when she really needs some reassurance or it just wakes her up too much and she cries cos she wants me to bugger off and stop disturbing her I think!

I have been looking up about peanut allergy - I made a thai dish with peanuts in yesterday which without thinking mushed some up and stuck in freezer for Mol. Haven't given her any yet - DSD has hayfever and DH has a tiny, tiny, tiny patch of excema - do you think I should not give to her? Don't want her to get anaphylactic shock

EllieG · 04/11/2008 21:30

Have just read some research to say that you should give peanuts early as that actually helps prevent allergy. Plus ate loads peanut butter when pg.

Oh is confusing.

ThePFJ · 04/11/2008 21:51

I'd give her a little bit Ellie. It's your call though. I would give a little to Jack if available...

LadyBee · 04/11/2008 21:59

MommyHAH, what milk feeds is she having during the day? Is there any room for adding in more? It's odd that she's draining bottles but maybe she's gotten into the habit of being hungry then and you need to do something to change her hunger patterns by adding in another small meal or two so you can remove one later.

Scorpio, I want you to keep on posting - it's too hard to be going through something so rubbish without feeling that you can't vent. So vent here.

Oh by the way OMa, I've been thinking of you - on Sunday when I was coming home from a friends I saw a tube poster which said "It started when I stopped answering phonecalls from my friends". It was a poster for depression - I hope you've gone to the GP and talked about how you're feeling.

MommyHasaHeadache · 04/11/2008 22:16

She has a bottle every 4 hours plus 3 meals.

Ellie - is it worth the risk? Up to you.

OMa - I was also thinking about you today - wondering how you are and wondering how your wrist is - if that's not too strange? I've also done something to my wrist and I wondered if yours was better yet?

Denny185 · 04/11/2008 22:26

Blimey shes a greedy hungry little girl isnt she

How much in each feed?
Is one every 3 hours too much? what does it say on the carton for amount in 24 hours (for a guide)
Does hungry baby milk work?

MommyHasaHeadache · 04/11/2008 22:35

Yeah tell me about it! She generally has about 180ml per feed, occassionally a bit more. And I use hungry baby milk. The carton says to have 5 x 210ml feeds a day - she has 6 x 180ml feeds a day (sometimes more, sometimes less). I always make a 210ml bottle, but she doesn't usually finish it. She hasn't woken up for her dreamfeed yet, so I am going to leave it and see what happens. Tomorrow I will try every 3 hours and see how that goes.

VictorianSqualor · 05/11/2008 08:26

MHAH, 180*6 isn't too far off the recommended average for milk at this age, they say they should have around 9ooml a day once they start weaning at six months.

EllieG · 05/11/2008 08:44

Hey all - SHE SLEPT THROUGH!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!!!

I was so suprised in the morning I ran to cot to check nothing was wrong!

(Have put new pic of me an' her on profile too - I have got dark hair now which am not sure suits me)

KnitterInTheNW · 05/11/2008 09:07

Go Mol!!

I love your dark hair Ellie.

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 09:12

Jack slept for 7 hours straight last night, from 11 to 6. He fell asleep about 8 and woke at 10 for a feed...then I took him to his moses basket and laid him down there, next to me. I guess its time we put him in his cot soon, in a sleeping bag wossname. He gets upset when mum isnt next to him though.

Lovethe dark hair Ellie. Looks very stylish.

VictorianSqualor · 05/11/2008 09:19

Yay for you Ellie.

I am in so much pain, and bleeding SO heavily. It's horrible. I feel sick and I want to cry and DP is working a stoopid fecking 8-6 shift again so he left at 6:30 and won't be home til about 7:30.

scorpio1 · 05/11/2008 09:21

It does suit you ellie I personally wouldnt give the peanut thing...but R's dad is v allergic so that has sort of scared me. Think J first tried peanuts at 2.

Mimi normally woke once at some point between 7-7 for a feed - she didnt last night and kev got up at 2 to poke her, lol.

Am off out saturday night, may end up going clubbing LOL havent been for ages!!

Off to get Mimi weighed today; something to do.

scorpio1 · 05/11/2008 09:22

Oh VS it really hurts doesnt it?

scorpio1 · 05/11/2008 09:22

My bloody washing machine has died again the bastard

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 09:26

VS my first period after Jack was born was horrendous. It was really HEAVY too. I resorted to taking my pill early rather than waiting 7 days for my period to complete. I couldn't take it anymore. My doc has switched me to cerazete as I am over 30 and not skinny and smoke. I take it everyday without breaks and so far its all good, no painful periods. Doc says they'll disappear over time.

Periods suck.

VictorianSqualor · 05/11/2008 09:31

Yes, it hurts
I've taken paracetamol but it's making no difference, I actually feel like I'm going to faint and it's pouring out of me. I soaked through a tampon in just under an hour and a half. (Sorry, TMI)

scorpio1 · 05/11/2008 09:33

I just sat on the toilet, lol. it was bad and i actually wondered if i was mcing.

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 09:34

hot bath and paramol if you can get to the chemists....

VictorianSqualor · 05/11/2008 09:36

We don't have a bath. What's paramol?
