Thought as the messages were coming in thick & fast I´d start new thread. Don´t know if it´ll work though. Fingers crossed.

A touch. Thankfully I still have maternity pads. MATERNITY PADS FGS.
Just added a new pic to my profile.

scorpio1 · 05/11/2008 14:38

Exactly what i did, VS....it will pass in a couple of days.

LadyBee · 05/11/2008 14:44

oh, but had an Annabel moment yesterday - made a puree out of frozen peas, canned pear (in juice), and stirred in some cream cheese - yum yum yum - DS was lucky to get some himself and I felt very chuffed with self after panicking about lack of fresh veges or stuff in freezer.

scorpio1 · 05/11/2008 14:45

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 14:46

Soph73 · 05/11/2008 16:23

Right, here goes and I know I'm being silly so I need you all to give me a good slap.
MIL is coming out on 8 Dec - 22 Dec (we will still be at school) & wants to look after Sam, which I don't have a problem with because she's great. However, I still want Sam to go to Nursery 2 days a week but DH won't even entertain the idea as he says it'll upset his mum too much. I just think that Sam really enjoys going & will miss it. Am I just being a complete pratt as Sam is only 6 mnths old & would he really notice that he's not going?

KnitterInTheNW · 05/11/2008 16:26

I'd be all for him going too, for continuity. Your MIL will still have 3 days a week with him on his own, and weekends with you all.

BaracktorianSqualor · 05/11/2008 16:31

If you want him to go then send him, tell your MiL you don't want him to 'forget' and have the hassle of 'starting again'.

However I'd say he very likely won't miss it at all and would be fine going back, but she';s not to know that is she.

PeachyFizzesLikeADampSquibb · 05/11/2008 16:42

Ah Knitter yes- Wells is really easy to get to from Taunton too (they all are really), it's a little smaller as a few 'outsider' cl;ubs dont go (us included) but tbh its still got all the really great ones goin and has probably about 2 hours worth- bridgwater can be up to 4 hours!.

Definitely worth a visit, it's one of those things you have to see to really 'get', you know?

Soph73 · 05/11/2008 16:45

Thanks knitter & BSqualor (great name btw) I know I'll end up not sending him but it does mean he won't be going for 5 weeks. When MIL goes back we're on hols for 3 wks & my mum, stepdad & nan are coming from 31st Dec - 14th Jan & will get to see him all day because we're on hols, so it's not really fair to say to MIL no you can't be with him all day when my parents will be. Sam is also so laid back that I know he won't have a problem with going back after Christmas.
Did that make sense?

Soph73 · 05/11/2008 16:48

Well, had better go and tidy up before home time. Have good evenings everyone

PeachyFizzesLikeADampSquibb · 05/11/2008 16:49

Hello all. Sorry if i've missed anything- DH on a few days off so PC access somewhat limited!

getting a Chinese tonight; had a big chat with Dh and told him he needed to up his game A LOT and he seems to be trying to grab bits of us time. Hard with Bas but the effort is enough, iyswim?

I have to say as well that I handed him the Christmas organisation (due to me being broke) with trepidation this year, but am how well he is doing it! Almost all comlpete now- fab. He's been getting excited on the M&S food oredering site too, yummy (ready prepared 3 bird roast and seafood platter- done! ) so shouldn't be too hard work for me either.

Started my Christmas cakes too; eeek- hoe they're OK, never done it before.

KnitterInTheNW · 05/11/2008 18:10

Seriously Peachy, how on earth have you had time to make christmas cakes? Aswell as looking after 4 little boys? I can barely keep on top of the day to day stuff here, and I only have 1... You ARE superwoman.

ThePFJ · 05/11/2008 18:22

Soph's baby goes to nursery.... wow.

scorpio1 · 05/11/2008 19:10

Soph - go hal and half maybe - 1 day at nursery, one day not? Say its so you dont loose his place.

Soph works PFJ so i guess thats why....Mimi will be going too as i think im popping back to finish my degree. Get my own life back a little.

frankerooney · 05/11/2008 20:24

I was a visitor to Mumsnet before my LO was born on 5 April 2008 but been too busy etc. - you know how it is...

Anyway, I'm trying to work out what contraceptive to go with...

I'm still breastfeeding, so I'm on Cerazette (mini pill) at the moment.

But I've just been reading up about contraception and, as a pro-life person, was horrified to read that pills, the Depo injection and the implants all might cause an early termination. Even if it's only a very small chance, I wouldn't want to risk it.

Does anyone here know about this stuff? Is there a thread somewhere about contraception? Am I stuck forever with condoms or sterilisation?

Any help gratefully received because I haven't managed to find any helpful info through Google.

PeachyFizzesLikeADampSquibb · 05/11/2008 21:29

Huh? are you trying to talk to us or scare us off the pill?

Try the health section for contraceptiove advice, though baby talk very welcome here.

LadyBee · 05/11/2008 21:45

frankerooney - think you'd be best posting a thread in general health. Any of the barrier methods of contraception will prevent sperm meeting egg so no risk of a fertilised egg being prevented from further development. Cervical Cap, Sponge, Diaphragm and male & female condoms are al barrier methods.

Peachy am very impressed that your DH is so organised regarding CHristmas. I have just pointedly reminded DP that I will not be back in the country until a week before Christmas, so he will need to be in charge of Christmas food and decorations.

ThePFJ · 06/11/2008 09:04

Morning all...

Tired Jack in his cot last night. He was fine until he got really tired and then decided he couldnt be without mum and cried until I came to get him. DP says I am being soft and I need to leave him there until he falls asleep.
There is a chair next to the cot, was thinking maybe I could sit in it and try to reassure him tonight rather than grab him up and take him to bed next to me....

Please tell me if I am strong Jack will get used to it on his own...

Have left out tea and toast for all you morning people.

ThePFJ · 06/11/2008 09:04

tried* not tired....
