VictorianSqualor · 03/11/2008 21:45

LOL. I followed like -a-- sheep today bought rachel's yoghurts too

KnitterInTheNW · 03/11/2008 21:53

Ella and Rachel are doing very well by us April mummies!

LadyBee · 03/11/2008 22:15

Ellie - s'cool..I know he's pretty
I have a childminder signed up

And I've done the Flexible Working Application.

And this time next week me and babybee will flying to New Zealand. Oh my gawwwdddddd....

I'm just starting with dairy - gave some butter on his rice-cake today, but I don't know whether it's coincidence or not, he had a bit of an upset tum. Will see what happens tomorrow but I was hoping to get him on yoghurt and cream cheese etc soon.

Scorpio, hope you have a lovely night out and can forget about things for a bit.

ThePFJ · 03/11/2008 22:38

night all

EllieG · 04/11/2008 08:59

Mol loves Rachel's yogurts. Have decided she is not allowed any today though, as would eat nothing else given half a chance. Ate 4 yesterday. Greedy piggy.

She's not sleeping again. What to do ladies? Waking twice a night for a nip of milk (last night half an oz) and then waking at 5 a.m and crying. I know she is tired still cos she will go back to sleep on me at that stage, but when put down in cot she screams. This morning I did an hour of PUPD/whinge/cry til 6 a.m. when I thought was not going to sleep so would just get her up. Gave her breakfast at 7 as usual so know she is not waking for hunger. Any ideas on how to handle? HV thinks get rid of any night feed and she will stop waking expecting something.
I'm so tired and me and DH are all ratty

VictorianSqualor · 04/11/2008 09:06

Same happened with A last night Ellie.
DP is off for two weeks as of next week so we are going to remove the night feed too. He will be going in every time A wakes and doing PUPD until A gets used to not having that feed. I'm so tired!

BUT ON A GOOD NOTE!!!!
I HAVE A PERIOD!!

EllieG · 04/11/2008 09:14

Congratulations! I guess....
Does this mean you are ttc

Oh bollocks bollocks she's woken up. She won't even nap anymore! [sighs theatrically]

Best go get her I suppose.

I am going to have to get rid of night feed too I think - she eats plenty in day, doesn't need it, but is just used to waking up. Trouble is, am going to be coping with it all by self I think - as already established, DH not a fan of PUPD, so is up to me. Hey ho. [repeats to self] this too shall pass....this too shall pass...

Have got DD down and she is flapping and smiling, bless her. Though I am still a little tiny bit wanting to throw her out the window.

Off to a baby group now in an attempt to mix with RL babies. 'later

EllieG · 04/11/2008 09:17

Did you speak to scorpio? I had an email but am v worried about her. Do you speak to her?

PeachyFizzesLikeADampSquibb · 04/11/2008 09:21

VS- wheres your profile? I told someone to look for BF numbers! tsk!

ThePFJ · 04/11/2008 09:38

morning all...

cats peed on the spare bed last night. lovely.

jack is doing fine.. I had to pull some large bogees out of his nose this morning though...

exciting no?

LadyBee · 04/11/2008 10:38

bloody bloody bloody DP has hidden the car keys - most likely in a pocket after he took things out of the car on weekend.
WHY CAN'T HE PUT THEM BACK ON THE HOOK WHERE THEY ALWAYS LIVE

I am supposed to be this minute driving DS over to friends place to be looked after, then driving back to counselling session - last one before NZ - now I'm going to have to take him to the session and that's not really the point as we end up both looking at him a lot.

gah.

oh. Congrats on the period VS...I still haven't had one

Sorry about cat though ThePFJ.

Ellie - offer water instead of milk to start?

KnitterInTheNW · 04/11/2008 10:48

Why can't DHs think about things? They just don't do they?

My poor little man has lost 10oz in the last couple of weeks, and actually I think that's in the last week as he ws eating fairly normally last tuesday. HV suggested doing all the things I'm already doing, so not much help. I've been trying to keep calpol to night time so that he can actually sleep, without it he's very unhappy and cries like he's in pain. I just gave him some before he went for a nap, hopefully it will still be working when he wakes up and it'll make him want to eat something. Fingers crossed.

ThePFJ · 04/11/2008 11:14

Major teething today... lots of crying and kicking...his two little front teeth at the bottom are through!!!!

Soooooooo cute. I have given poor little mite some baby ibuprofen and put gel on his gums. Had to let him cry himself to sleep though, was no other way to settle him.

So thats another little milestone for my baby.

Denny185 · 04/11/2008 13:24

Yeah to new teeth and wanted periods.

Boo to inconsiderate husbands, cats peeing on beds and poorly husbands.

Ellie, r u trying PUPD with days time naps or do u fetch her once shes awake? I have found that once the day time sleeps r more sorted the nights fall into a better pattern too.

Have been trying a new routine with DD2 today (thanks Ellie)
7am breakfast
9.30-11 sleep
11 milk
12.30 lunch
2.30-4 sleep
4 milk
5 dinner
7 milk and bed

I know the day is far from over but so far have managed to get more milk in her than normal

scorpio1 · 04/11/2008 13:37

Good on your period, VS isn't it so weird, you were just 2 weeks after me, we seem to have things happend closely to us all the time!

I got pissed last night....came home at 10pm hammered but Mimi was up...but she took a bottle - like 4oz!!

We need to fine tune Mimi sleep too - this last week or so i havent been 'strict' on her at all, have actually found the BF very comforting.

Her scan was perfectly clear btw.

scorpio1 · 04/11/2008 13:50

oh and when were called for our scan, Mimi was feeding - and she shouted across a v busy waiting room

Oh if youre breastfeeding i can call someone else

Whole room stared at me, most other babies had bottles in their mouths! (not being bottle snobbish just trying to show i was embarrassed lol)

Soph73 · 04/11/2008 15:09

Hi all.
Hope you're not too hungover Scorpio Pleased Mimi's scan was clear. My period started today so hurty tummy however, I think this is my 4th one now so should be used to it but it still takes me by surprise
PFJ - why did she/he do that?
Blah from me too on inconsiderate/ill/idiotic dh's Although shouldn't put them down too much as am about to steal some choccie from mine as I know he's got some stashed in his desk drawer.

Soph73 · 04/11/2008 15:11

Knitter - sorry to hear your little one is losing weight Hopefully he'll feel better soon

VictorianSqualor · 04/11/2008 16:13

Try not to worry too much Knitter (easier said than done I know) Only today I was doing some BF support at a baby group and the HV's were talking about how they want to get people out of weighing the babies and just going by how well/alert the baby seems themselves because weight increase/decrease worries so many people so much and is not the best indicator of how your baby is doing.

I know Scorpio! Well weird! Hope things are better today.

VictorianSqualor · 04/11/2008 16:15

Oh and Denny. How the hell do you get through long day shifts at weekends?
I've been going insane this weekend, I coped with the night shifts great, didn't bother me being home alone, nor keeping the DCs quiet for the first few hours of the morning, took them to the park etc, but this weekend DP did 8-6sat and sunday and I wanted to scream!

ThePFJ · 04/11/2008 17:13

Soph - do you mean the cat? I have 2 rescue cats (girls) and sometimes extreme nerves can cause accidents. I am NOT looking forward to the fireworks!!! >.

PeachyFizzesLikeADampSquibb · 04/11/2008 17:18

yep rescue cats can do that- our last one wasterrible fior it for his forst six weeks (we take the cats the vet my sister works for cannot place as I do premature baby care with them - wore last kitten in my top. He died at a year exactly 12 months ago (sob) and we're looking for new one but it has to be last chance saloon, oohter poeple can have the other ones, I know what I am doing with the mangy ones LOL

Saw HV today, Bas weighed- static on 2nd centile which is good news. but wait for this- she has been given a job as surestart breastfeeding HV.

O. M. F.. G

ThePFJ · 04/11/2008 17:32

awwwwwwwww Peachy.... you are so wonderful. And looking after baby animals... I would love to be able to do that... wouldnt we all?

I take it you're surprised at your HV ...do tell? (sorry if I missed it)

PeachyFizzesLikeADampSquibb · 04/11/2008 17:38

oh pfj yes sorry! he gave me so much advice- with the aid of the assistant publicly humiliated me over bas' weight and my determinatrion to carry on bf.... eve announced that I couldnt feed him as you need to drink milk to make milk (tell that to the cows!)- had me feeling really low and crying in baby group at one stage.

I only like cats with attitudes lol- the one we have now was taped in a box and abandoned because he was so evil. evil my arse! sleeps wit dh and
is a right little cddly soul. local kiddies favourite. Last one had missing leg, missing ear, had been beaten badly anfd we didnt now but had heart damage too. Sister is a vet nurse, I am her last resort LOL- she used to wrk for secret world animal rescue and would forever have bats in her bra or stoats in her bag, I just looked after the local farm cats and strays.

scorpio1 · 04/11/2008 17:43

VS - its shit being on your own so often isn't it. I don't know how i filled the time - no more of that here though. He has just left to go training for the first time since his fight again; i trust him doing that. Straight home after.

I'm ok today thankyou, various little nigglings but you're all bored now
