jammy. good you had somewhere to go where you could talk and give yourself a bit of a break though.

HollyWeen · 16/10/2008 13:11

I have gone for these tights! Can't wait to wear them with my new dress! I have loads of tights, they are my thing. I have coloured fishnets, footless, diamonds, zigzags, lace and even some plain ones! Denim miniskirt with funky tights used to be my winter outfit, I didn't wear trousers all winter! Unfortunately now I have a big fat arse I can't wear miniskirts anymore!

Ria, I hope you get your stairgate fixed! Arseholes!

Jammy, are you ok? The centre you went to sounds lovely!

I had my first peer support group this morning. It was good. We are running it alongside the stay and play group, but trying to get breastfeeding mums to come along too, and more importantly, stay. At the moment the new mums come to get their babies weighed, then they leave. We want them to stay and chat and get support. There were two new mums there today and I spoke to them and they both chatted and stayed til the end. It was really nice to speak to them. they have both said they'll come again, so it's all off to a good start!

Elvira, that is bollocks. If it has gone missing in the post it is their fault, not yours. Do you have a bank statement or something with the other lot of money on it? Threaten them with trading standards etc. that usually works a treat!

JammyOLantern · 16/10/2008 13:28

Love the tights Holly! And yes, that's shite Elvira! Complain your ass off woman!!

The centre I went to (Homestart) is lovely. We used to go every Monday to a drop in group there, but I work Mondays now. Other than knowing that they support families, I didn't really know what they did other than running that group, but as I felt myself about to cry this morning I decided just to go in and see if they had time to talk, which they did They didn't really tell me anything I didn't know, but it was nice to have someone there. And as I said Jamlet had a fab time

LackaDAISYcal · 16/10/2008 13:54

afternoon. arse about the material orders elvira. are you protected by paypal or your credit card?

jammy, glad you got out and had a chat to someone; it's just good to offload sometimes.

holly, love the tights. I wuld never have the courage (or the youthful exuberance ) to carry them off.

DS is finally sleeping. He is knackered, the poor lamb, as he'd been awake since 3am. But he hasn't been sick since 11.30 and his lips are pink again instead of white like the rest of him so he seems a bit beter. DD had a half hour nap and woke up with rosy cheeks, and presumably a bit of pain, from teething. DH managed a cat nap on the sofa beside DS, and I'm still awake! So, I've shoved DH and DD out of the house so DS can rest and given them a list of random things to get in Tesco.....from big pants (for my hospital bag) to shoe polish.

I am planning my secret santa already, as I need to get cracked on with it before virgil makes an appearance.

I am 37 weeks today so officially "full term". What's the betting I'll still be here at 42 weeks?

that's nice Jammy, that you got to have a chat. A little tea nad sympathy goes a long way.

Elvir, did you pay by paypal? Or credit card? if you did, there's a chance you'll be covered and get it back without too much of a palaver.

I ended up grooming 8 ponies, one of which got hit by a car on the way to school.

My Little Ponies that is.

I have done the dishes, made lunch and dinner, and tidied up now BTW. Its not all fun, fun, fun here you know

HollyWeen · 16/10/2008 13:59

Poor MRR daisy ! Hope he is better tomorrow. Keep positive my dear, I'm sure virgil will come out soon, fingers (but not legs) crossed for you!

One of my mum friends and her dcs are coming over to play at 2, but dd and ds are both asleep! Typical! Dd never sleeps during the day anymore and she's going to get woken up in a minute!

I can't remember Elvira, most of them are about 6 years old! My new crazy tights are from John Lewis, I like their tights because they do sizes, not just one size. I can't wear one size tights, the gusset ends up round my knees!

Stand your ground with the missing stuff. Visa and paypal will both refund you if you haven't received your goods.

HollyWeen · 16/10/2008 14:07

Me too elvira. The peer supporter thing is all well and good, but there is not a lot we can do in terms of physically helping and advising mums. I can't wait to become qualified so I can really help. My PCT actually employ BFCs on a nurse's wage, so once I am qualified I will actually have a real job at the end of it as well as all the NCT work I'll be doing.

LackaDAISYcal · 16/10/2008 14:08

pmsl elvira....the not smell of puke one is making me gag laugh today

holly, the group sounds great. I haven't done anything with my qualification yet, but there is a group 10 minutes walk from here so will talk to the co-ordinator (my MW) about coming along in an official capacity once virgil has been born.

DS is awake and asking for maltesers....he is clearly feeling better

Good choice of treat MRR! Glad he is feeling better!

I have got some gorgeous black tights with a line of tiny holes up the back of the legs where a seam would be. They are very sexy (though unfortunately not on me anymore)!

LackaDAISYcal · 16/10/2008 14:15

I think I'll leave the NCT course for a few months; at least until springtime. The tutorials are in the evenings, or there is one on Saturday, but I've done no prep whatsoever. Although I may go along on Saturday, just to intorduce myself and let them know that I am still interested.

BTW I asked DH last night if he would pick the names for the secret santa last night and he said yes - and then asked if he could pick them with his penis I had visions of him standing there with a list of names held in front of his nether regions and his penis waving about like a dowsing rod

LackaDAISYcal · 16/10/2008 14:26

how utterly bizarre of your DH jammy.......is this his normal SOH? or is the job stress really getting to him?

lol at special occasion.

He has requested some of my homemade chicken noodle soup.......that has made my day

OK folks, what are the LOs getting for Christmas? We thought about a wheelybug for DD, knowing that virgil will get some use of it too, but her ride on thing that she got for her birthday doesn't even get a pat in passing these days. the wheelybug has a bit of personality about it though, so she might be more interested in that. Other options are a dolls house (too young?), or some building stuff of her own (like sticklebricks?). Help I need inspiration!

I'm getting Wii fit

Fuuny you should say that Daisy, the poat just came and jamlet is now studiously "reading" the ELC Xmas toys gift guide!

JammyOLantern · 16/10/2008 15:05

I want to get her the first friends house from this collection (you have to scroll down I'm afraid). She loves this stuff and has a few of the people already.

LackaDAISYcal · 16/10/2008 15:21

DS had a few of the cars from that range. the dolls house looks good, but isn't very big? We thought about the ELC happy People one. she got some of this stuff for her birthday, and seems interested in it when she unearths it from the depths of the toy chest. Our main problem is that she is more interested in all of DSs stuff than her own......mybe we should get her an action man or two

I have finally decided that I am selling the McLaren and buying a Phil and Teds Sport.......and everyone is out of bleeding stock except Mothercare who are too expensive......Grrrrrrr
