Sorry for just disappearing last night.
Yes he is worried about the economic situation. I think if the timing had been a couple of weeks different, he wouldn't have taken redundancy. He is now so worried that he's made the wrong decision, that he'll end up taking a much lower paid job because there'll be nothing else ... I keep saying that it won't matter that as long as he loves us and is with us me & jamlet won't mind but it just seems to make him more upset

JammyOLantern · 16/10/2008 08:44

Morning Ria. Hope your loft men aren't too stressful. Here I'm just dreading today.

HollyWeen · 16/10/2008 08:45

Oh bless him jammy. Hope it all works out. I'm sure his perfect job is just around the corner.

I've just bought a dress! I bought some bright pink tights in John Lewis the other day and needed a dress to go with them. I found a £5 voucher and a free delivery voucher on HUKD, so it was only £20! Woohoo!

Morning all, Trace has asked me to let you know that Chloe is back in hospital . She had a posture yesterday which started at 8.40am. She texted me around 6.45pm to say they were waiting for an ambulance. Spoke to her this morning and Chloe didn't come out of it til 1am. She is coming out of hospital this morning though when the docs been round.

JammyOLantern · 16/10/2008 08:59

Thanks Phoenix. Poor Chloe. Poor Trace.

Nice dress Holly

HollyWeen · 16/10/2008 09:00

Thanks phoenix. Poor chloe, I wish I could just wave a magic wand and make it all go away for them .

LackaDAISYcal · 16/10/2008 09:25

Thanks for the update Pheonix. Poor Chloe . Tell trace we're all thinking of them.

We are the house of vomit this morning

DS woke up at 3:30 (and I didn't get to sleep till 2:30 due to farking insomnia) and was sick everywhere and has been chucking up every half hour since. He can't keep anything down, and sips of water or dilute fruit juice are coming right back up again. Not sure whether or not to call the docs, or how long I should give it before I do. NHS direct website says to call if the child is vomiting continuously, but doesn't clarify what that means? Is vomiting every half hour continuous? Bloody well seems it here.

And DD woke up at that time as well and preceeded to wake up at hourly intervals, so DH and I are a bit zombie like this monring. Thank goodness DH is home as I can't deal with the sick at the minute and two of them up all night would have killed me!

I'm feeling really queasy now as well, but I think that's just a reaction to DS.

Daisy. I'd ring GP if I were you.

RiallyEeRiaee · 16/10/2008 09:58

love the dress holly.

for you daisy.

for Chloe. I'm with you on the magic wand thing holly. some things are just so unfair.

Poor DH jammy, he probably has done the right thing though, isn't voluntary redundancy better than having to do it? It is a worrying time though.

baggins is watching the loft men chuck their stuff onto my lavendar garden unload their van. Looking like it will be stressful.

LackaDAISYcal · 16/10/2008 10:04

I'm waiting on the GP calling back.

DD is a right ole grump and we have tried to put her back to bed three times and she just keeps on whinging and shaking the bars of the cot.

tell them off for ruining your garden Ria

nice frock holly

Can't wiat to be able to look at/buy normal clothes again.

I have to go to the foundation stage fashion show to raise money for harvest festival this morning. I have a headache and squirted myself in the eye with frylite.

oh what a lot of on here.

Trace, my heart goes out to you. I hope you are OK

Poor DS Daisy, you must be exhausted. Has he stopped vomming now? If so, I'd get some flat lemonade into him, much more palatable than diorolyte.
What are you having done in your loft Ria?

Jammy, I think that our menfolk feel a very different burden of responsibility than we do - we feel responsible for body and soul, they feel responsible for providing for us. For us its talked about, we have our support networks (like each other on here). I don't know for sure, but I don't think they talk about it, but I really do think they feel there is an enormous burden. Perhaps Dadsnet might help? Anyway, I really hope he is OK and feels more positive soon.

Ohforfoxsake · 16/10/2008 10:24

My LO is sat in the middle of the living room with DSs pants on her head. And there is an electrician here.

Ohforfoxsake · 16/10/2008 10:26

The fact that it is being witnessed is the funny bit, not that I have an electrician here.

LackaDAISYcal · 16/10/2008 10:35

agree with what foxy says about DH jammy; they are very sensitive about their ability to provide.

still vomming here. Doc not too worried but we are to keep an eye on the tummy pains and signs of dehydration. He has a temp now as well so we are going to try some calpol. will pop out and get some flat lemonade, as he isn't too happy about the docs suggestion of tepid water.

well, I'll get some lemonade and shake it flat......don't think you can actually buy it pre-flattened

AIBU to dose my DD up on medised in the hope that it will drug her to sleep? If they both have a nap, then DH and I can as well.

Ohforfoxsake · 16/10/2008 10:52

how depressing Daisy

Yes Daisy to the Medised, although I never said that

Crikey, a screaming baby here. She is having a paddy over a pair of pink sunglasses and I now have the pants on my head.

Tis all fun and games here

I think joining in on the bf threads would be more fun.

Ohforfoxsake · 16/10/2008 11:21

you can't all be off doing stuff in RL can you? Its cold outside.

and I'm in a 'can't be arsed' mood.

oh well, seeing as I'm all alone on here I could go and tidy up/take the washing out of the machine/put the clean washing away/wash up the breakfast stuff/make lunch.

yawn.

frylite is diet spray oil Elvira. it smudged my eyeliner too.

I have bought a skirt! now I need wolly fat birds tights.

DS2s fashion show was nice (it got past my cynical morningness anyway)

DH has rung and complained to warmfront and the loft insulation company because the apes blokes have damaged our stairgate, not to mention the squished garden and being rude... one of them was scared of my cat

I can't be arsed now either, it doesn't do me any good having to do stuff in a morning.

RiallyEeRiaee · 16/10/2008 12:02

woolly.

RiallyEeRiaee · 16/10/2008 12:10

excellent, Evans have opaques. Don't they have fat-holding-in lycra in them? need to go to town...

JammyOLantern · 16/10/2008 12:56

Thanks for the support everyone DH was thoroughly miserable when he left this morning, and he is convinced he arsed up the first interview yesterday. But he has an interview next week so I'm sure there will be something just right for him soon. I think you're right in that he feels very responsible and that he must provide. He has been the main wage earner for a long while, even before I went part time.

I went out this morning and got part way to town and realised I had no idea what we were doing or where to go. I then came over all tearful but thankfully we were near the library then where there's a place that we used to go to that gives support to families, so I called in and they made me a cup of tea and sat and talked with me for about an hour. Jamlet had a lovely time playing with their toys, and I got a lot of stuff off my chest. Felt much better when I left and we went and got Jamlet some wellies and a warm coat (excpet I didn't get the coat big enough so going back to swap it tomorrow). She seems really pleased with the wellies

Daisy, I hope DS's tummy has settled and that DD went to sleep and that you and DH got some rest.

Ria - oil spray in the eye doesn't sound good, and yes complaints should be made about the loft people damaging stuff.
