FiendishFairyFay · 15/10/2008 15:14

I'd be up for a cheap/homemade SS.

JammyOLantern · 15/10/2008 15:22

Sorry I just realised that I got swept along with things and have just been very presuming and bossy

FiendishFairyFay · 15/10/2008 15:43

I don't think anyone will object to your volunteering Jammy

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 15:44

Oh fairy.....poor you . I take it things haven't gotten any better this week then?

And thanks Jammy for organising the santa . Will email you, although I'm not sure I'm your friend anymore after your recent score on Wordplay . Very impressed. And you fairy. I'm trying to get a higher score, but my high score was obviously a bit if a fluke.

JammyOLantern · 15/10/2008 15:54

Aw thanks guys. (And ya-boo to you Word Challengers! ) I did feel bad for being bossy though so went and cleaned and tidied the kitchen as punishment! And for anyone who doesn't know you can email me on [email protected]

Ohforfoxsake · 15/10/2008 15:59

Oh Fairy! I'm not sure whether to laugh at that or not! Do you still have the potty to hand? Might be worth getting it out again?

Jammy, that was a 'thanks for offering' but if you are happy to co-ordinate, then thanks again! Will your DH be happy to do the picking? So you can have a Secret Santa too?

FWIW IME first interviews are always a disaster. Its not a reflection on the candidate, but more of a case of being out of practice of the whole interview process. Its quite a hard task, sitting there with a group of strangers, talking about yourself, answering questions and being nervous on top. Tell him not to beat himself up

JammyOLantern · 15/10/2008 16:08

Totally agree about the interview Foxy, it's just a shame that this time the first one was for a job he really wanted. Anyway he's gone off again now for another one. I feel for him, it doesn't start until 4.45 and they say to expect it to last an hour and half.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 16:58

I've emailed you Jammy....although it's just occurred to me that my crafting time might be affected by the presence of a small milky bleating thing.

Never mind, you can always get nice hand crafted stuff in charity shops; I saw a lovely toilet roll cosy in Oxfam the oher day

FiendishFairyFay · 15/10/2008 17:42

Things have improved a bit, but still not great tbh. The potty has made a return

Ohforfoxsake · 15/10/2008 19:13

Hope Mr Jammy's interview was OK Jammy.

Regression is common FairyFay. It won't last forever. Remind her of being a big, clever girl. Or bribery. With Chocolate. My favourite method of parenting.

Righto, I'm off to the cinema tonight to see Brideshead. Except DP isn't home yet and my friend is picking me up in 2 minutes. Arse.

RiallyEeRiaee · 15/10/2008 19:58

are you getting a lamb daisy?

enjoy foxy!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 20:05

JammyOLantern · 15/10/2008 20:15

Arse! My work laptop connection has gone awol so I can't do my work. Ah well time for MN

DH doesn't think tonight's interview went well

Oh I saw a group of mums waiting to collect their LOs from pre-school nursery today, and even though I know half of them, they looked right scary!

RiallyEeRiaee · 15/10/2008 20:45

poor DH jammy.

HollyWeen · 15/10/2008 20:54

Poor dh jammy, hope he isn't feeling too down. You can never really tell with these things, he may have done really well, it just depends on what the employer is looking for. Fingers crossed for him.

Good news about your dh's job daisy and glad he is going to be around a lot when Virgil arrives.

Thanks for offering to do the SS jammy. How are you going to get a pressie?

My mum taught me how to knit the other day, so dd and I went to the charity shop and bought some lovely fluffy pink wool so I could make her a scarf. I was doing really well and had done about 6 inches when ds got hold of it! I left it on the windowsill and he pulled one of the needles out and started to unravel it! Now it is fucked! I can't remember how to cast on, so my project is doomed to failure!

JammyOLantern · 15/10/2008 21:03

Holly - does this help?

I plan on writing up a set of emails giving out the recipients names and addresses and giving DH a list of email addresses and asking him to put one address on each email and send them out. That way I just get an email telling me who I am to send to. Haven't asked him yet but....

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 21:12

for holly

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 21:14

bummer for DH jammy, but sometimes you never can tell with these things.

OP posts:
JammyOLantern · 15/10/2008 21:21

I know. I keep telling him he doesn't really know so there's no point worrying, he might have done better than he thinks, and that even if he hasn't got these jobs there will be others and that he hasn't let us down etc etc. What else can I say?

JammyOLantern · 15/10/2008 21:24

Oh dear, he's just gone to bed - he never goes to bed this early, it's normally nearer midnight or even later. He must be taking it badly

RiallyEeRiaee · 15/10/2008 21:31

jammy. maybe he is just tired - 2 interviews in a day is a lot of stress?

JammyOLantern · 15/10/2008 21:35

True, Ria. I'm just so worried about him.

RiallyEeRiaee · 15/10/2008 21:40

bless you jammy. how long before his job finishes?

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 21:46

oh jammy, poor DH. These are his first two interviews as well, something will turn up soon.

Is he worrying about the economic situation perhaps?

RiallyEeRiaee · 16/10/2008 08:42

morning.

why do the BBC put the new Postman Pat on at 8.30? DS2 won't go to school til he's watched it (it's the only TV he has before school, don't usually put it on). We have been ready so long this morning we could have walked...

Am dreading the loft men coming.
