Hi pingu my dear. Are you well?

Ohforfoxsake · 03/10/2008 11:00

feeling poetic Pingu? You must have had some sleep

you know what I'm going to say. Have you made an appointment with your GP?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 03/10/2008 11:04

I will go to the gp on the way back from dropping dd at pre-school and make an appt...I promise.

pinguthepenguin · 03/10/2008 11:10

Oh yes, poetic delirium

i've had some sleep, dd went to dads yesterday. Thanks for answering my thread foxy and daisy.

HellHathNoFury · 03/10/2008 11:18

Pingu nice to see you again!

ok ladies... I'd rather do my report.

I SERIOUSLY don't know how SAHM's do it.

I am pretty tired for sure and I don't get much free time - but I think on balance, working is MUCH easier than being a full time mum. Hats off to you.

DH and I were thinking that'd I'd have to be a SAHM if we had another as we couldn't afford the childcare - and quite frankly I am inclined to take on a 2nd job if it meant I could keep the childcare

Ohforfoxsake · 03/10/2008 11:19

Its nice to see you on this thread

pinguthepenguin · 03/10/2008 11:19

I could pretty much put my hand on my heart and declare that Dd will be an only child. No doubt about it.

DKMA · 03/10/2008 11:20

I'm cold
I'm at home in my office and I've just put the heating on cos my fingers stopped working!
Hope everyone is doin ok?

DKMA · 03/10/2008 11:21

Pingu - I had a coil fitted yesterday - so I guess I'm thinking the same?!
Pingu - weren't you living in Manchester - are you still there?

Ohforfoxsake · 03/10/2008 11:21

Its pay off is when you don't have to go to a sweaty office where the bloke opposite you picks his nose.

Ohforfoxsake · 03/10/2008 11:23

Hi DKMA Did you have copper or mirena?
Are you in Manchester Pingu? I might be coming to live there.

DKMA · 03/10/2008 11:25

Hi Foxy - Yeah I can pick my own nose and scratch my bum and no one knows - except for the dog!! haha
I have a copper one - can't tollerate the pill type hormones at all.

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 11:43

hey pingu; you made it then

I thought DS was going to be an only one....now look at me, fat, nearly 40 and about to drop No3

Work is beginning to look more appealing by the day, but alas we can't afford the childcare for two plus wraparound care for DS!

I can't get my engagement ring off . It is stuck fast. It was a wee bit tight (being two sizes smaller than wedding ring), but was Ok as I'd lost weight.....but now that my little digits are on the puffy/pudgy side, it won't budge. I think I'm going to have to get it cut off before my finger falls off due to lack of blood supply

Ohforfoxsake · 03/10/2008 11:48

I had mine done yesterday too. Did you read Daisy's post - that they aren't all that reliable

Another thought Pingu (hopefully you'll stick around so am posting it here) my LO has recently started to pretty much graze constantly. The last few nights I've been giving her a chopped banana before bed with her milk. She just seems to be able to eat constantly. Wonder if that's worth a try? Have you checked with your CM what her appetite is like there? Might be worth asking her to give her more snacks through the day.

Ohforfoxsake · 03/10/2008 11:50

Momentus day here.

Tooth Fairy will be paying her first visit tonight DS1 lost his first tooth.

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 12:10

woohoo for DS1 foxy. We had our first visit over the holiday...but no more wobbly teeth since.

DD has started to snack all day as well. We were on three meals a day, but she won't eat a big lunch anymore, so has milk, followed by some cereal, then a banana or raisins a bit later, then some sarnies about 11ish, a bit of whatever I'm having for lunch (if she is awake) but she usually has some bread, cheese and fruit around twoish when she wakes from her nap, and then she'll eat a proper tea, and then more milk just over na hour later......seems like she is constantly grazing at the minute.

HV said that they are too busy dealing with all their new experiences to sit for too long, so snacking on the run is the way forward. DD seems much more settled since we started doing that.

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 12:10

and sorry for scaring everyone with tales of dodgy coils

pinguthepenguin · 03/10/2008 12:18

Good idea about the snacking. She pretty much eats alot as it is, but wil try a bit more. i'll ask cm to see what she says.

DKMA- I'm still in manchester

pinguthepenguin · 03/10/2008 12:33

Manchester eh foxy? why the move? I love it here, its a cool place

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 12:42

Aaaargh, have just remembered that I'm meeting my doula today and I haven't done my research.

that and as well as picking the cat up from the vet, it's the school disco this evening so we have to have tea and back out the door for 5:30. DD is coming as well; should be fun

JammyOLantern · 03/10/2008 13:14

Hi everybody
I've been at work this morning and when I got home, expecting to hear jamlet babbling away to my ILs, the house was silent. It took me a few minutes of hunting round the house (it's not that big, but I was confused) to notice that the pushchair isn't here so I presume they've gone out for a walk. I was home 45 mins earlier than planned, so not that surprising though. So I am enjoying the peace and quiet, especially after a morning of, ahem, spirited arguments discussion at work this morning.

Ohforfoxsake · 03/10/2008 13:19

does it feel a bit spooky when its quiet Jammy? My house does. Silence is just so unusual!

In a year or two Pingu, DP has a work move (don't want to give too much away on here!) Are you on FB? I have picked DKMAs brains and I could pick yours too I need mates when I get there. RL mates!

Got your dancing shoes ready then Daisy?

pinguthepenguin · 03/10/2008 14:01

I'll be your friend (kiora!)

Yeah I'm on fb foxy. How do I give you my link without revealingmy name on here?

Sputnik · 03/10/2008 14:13

Welcome back Pingu
I saw your thread and sympathise, DS was awake for 1 1/2 hours in the middle of the night last night, he does it every so often. Not upset just ranging about, and we co-sleep so I can't just ignore it! Anyway, can't imagine how I'd be if he kept it up til morning. Are things getting better for you now?

Ohforfoxsake · 03/10/2008 14:16

email me? laineyjbe at hotmail dot co dot uk

then you can link to everyone elses through mine too

DKMA are you around? I feel crap today, I'm wondering if its the coil. I've got back ache. How are you feeling?
