hi pingu, glad you've crossed over I didn't post on your thread because I'm hopeless.

DH has got his appointment to get his results. You about on Weds Daisy?

I'm tired. and DH needs a nap because he has man flu. and we went to tesco and I forgot to buy food for tea.

Arse.

pinguthepenguin · 03/10/2008 14:57

will email you foxy. I'm glad to be here. Thanks all

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 16:01

Is anyone around to offer some advice?

Ria, yup, we're free on Wednesday.....the coffee shop at tropical world is nice, or the cafe at Roundhay Park Lake has reopened after the fire.

have posted on your thread daisy. hope it's a "nice" thread.

is it ok if I bring the bits and pieces for Virgil on Weds (if I make it, I AM planning to)? How are you for vests and babygros? (In white/cream)?

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 16:23

lovely Ria, thanks.

we have lots of newborn vests and babygros, but not sure about next size up. I'll have a look through stuff and let you know. We got given a big carrier full of stuff on loan from a friend last week.

looking forward to meeting you

am kicking my heels waiting for 4.30 (apparently that's when the JC update their website) DH still in bed. DS1 is going to a new church youth group tonight (i will tell you about his new theory on Religion/the Big Bang sometime! he will go far)

I went to the OU session and have my application form. Can't decide between Making Sense of the Arts, Introducting Environment or Understanding Children. Any suggestions anyone? I am keen though, selfishly I think I deserve to try.

RiallyEeRiaee · 03/10/2008 16:26

I think it's 0-3 up to about 12m (but obviously will only bring stuff that will be appropriate seasonally) FB me! You might be really unlucky and get to meet DH too (he'll be the one that's come as Van Helsing 3 weeks early)

Will stop hijacking the thread with my plans now

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 03/10/2008 16:32

Wow, our local curry house have online ordering! Just ordered some takeaway. I'm starving, hope it comes soon!

Daisy, posted on your thread.

Ria, OU sounds cool. It'll be good to get out and get thinking about something other than children and cleaning! I am looking forward to getting stuck into my BFC course for that reason! Understanding children sounds good, you have children to try and understand after all!

I WANT MY CURRY NOW

RiallyEeRiaee · 03/10/2008 16:37

The boys each fall into the ago categories the course is based round too, I was just wondering if I should try something out side my "area of expertise"

I am BORED. I want online curry delivery, or anything that's just a bit exciting and doesn't involve cleaning my hell hole of a house (hardly worth it now it's the weekend, Justhave to keep DM away!)

Sputnik · 03/10/2008 16:40

I would go for 1 of the last 2 courses Ria, but then I have a degree in art history, which is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 16:43

Ria, you are not being selfish for thinking you deserve to rty the OU stuff.

Thanks for the advice; we are letting me him go, but on the proviso that he has extra chores tomorrow and also that we will come home at the very first sign of any pants action.

The fact that he didn't want to tell me what had happened shows me that he realises what a muppet he has been. Now to reiterate the "think for yourself and don't follow the herd" mentality.

Right, gotta feed the monsters and get ready. How sad that a two hour school disco is the highlight of my social calendar .....but, there will be wine

OP posts:
RiallyEeRiaee · 03/10/2008 16:48

you are allowed wine our HT is a witch who has a bottle of red in her desk drawer (allegedly) but no-one else is allowed to drink on school premises. When I started working there when DS1 was in reception the Head provided a HUGE amount of booze for the staff on xmas school dinner day. How we miss him... Have a lovely time (do you have a 15yo teacher who will be dancing and singing like a 12yo to High School Musical?)

I suppose I should feed mine too. Now, whether to let DH sleep so he misses his "informal chat" with the chair of Governors

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 03/10/2008 18:02

Glad you are going daisy, have a lovely time. Hope MRR behaves himself.

My dcs have discovered a love of poppadoms! Lovely curry, I am stuffed now. Not too stuffed for ice cream though !!

Ohforfoxsake · 03/10/2008 20:00

FWIW Daisy, my DS1 just mooned me. HTH.

I wouldn't go to the disco, but I'd have been looking for an excuse for weeks to get out of it.

I feel shite. Thrown up, fever, achey. Bit concerned as DS2 said I look like I have a baby in my tummy (doesn't usually mention it). Am worried my body is reacting to the coil. DP away this weekend. DS2 is being lovely and comes and gives me a little stroke from time to time

Better go and put the darlings to bed.

Ohforfoxsake · 03/10/2008 20:20

Pingu, have FB'd you and emailed you.

Before I out everyone on this thread any objections to me telling Pingu your real identities? Except for Bumper obviously because she's a secret agent

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 03/10/2008 20:27

Bless ds2 foxy! If it makes you feel any better my dd has just been sick, so I think there may be something going round. The poor little lamb came rushing up to me and told me her sick was coming back (she was sick a few weeks ago). I found her a bucket and she was really sick. She had a drink of water, snuggled up with dp and was asleep instantly. It's really unusual, my children are never ill. Hopefully it'll be gone in the morning. Hope you are ok and fingers crossed it is just a bug and not a reaction to the coil x

I am volunteering at the NCT sale tomorrow. It's gonna be fun! Volunteers obviously get the first pick of the stuff, so it's a good shopping day for me tomorrow ! Hopefully neither the dcs or myself will be throwing up!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 03/10/2008 20:29

I am a secret agent too doncha know

Don't worry, everyone knows my (not so) secret identity!

Ohforfoxsake · 03/10/2008 20:38

Urgh. I feel shit.

Poor DD Holly, hope she is OK. my DD1 is ill too. She keeps telling everyone "I'm OK, Just under the weather" ahhh, bless.

We just snuggled down and watched Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was good

I think I'll log off now. I have to sit on a rocking horse to MN, due to its non-wireless capability and my bumb is numb.

Night lovelies

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 20:40

I'm pretty much out there anyway foxy, so not me.....and hopefully I'll be meeting up with y'all in Manc at some point

We went to the disco; it wasn't bad, but we came away early as DD was getting a bit overwhelmed with it all. DS has been whingey and crying over every little theng and then kicked off when we said we were leaving and everyone (ie mostly me) has been shouting and now we are all cross with each other.

I am losing the will to parent him; it's just soooooo hard

pingu, incase that is worrying you; he was the perfect happy smiley baby. I think they go the opposite way from when they were babies so when your DD is 6 she will be lovely

And Ria.....that person singing like a 12 year old to High School Musical....was me . (Well it was Grease and Abba, but you get the picture). The head is booking me to serve as a warning to teen pregnancies next week

she wasn't there tbh, it's more a "friends of.." run by parents than an official PTA. I think the grown-ups needed the booze to get through it tbh!

Ohforfoxsake · 03/10/2008 20:45

I have the utmost admiration for you Daisy - that you went at all.

RiallyEeRiaee · 03/10/2008 20:50

me too.

hope you feel better soon foxy.

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 20:53

whispers.....

I actually enjoyed it

Got my kitty back ; she had three teeth out and whatever they gave her for pain relief has made her rather dilated of pupil. She looks like those silly computer regenerated cats on greetings cards, bless her. She had had some of Sainsbury's Taste the Difference ham for tea and is now curled up asleep by my side.

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 20:56

sorry foxy, meant to say I hope you don't feel too rough. There isn't a risk of infection or anything is there? Maybe you should call NHS Direct or the out of hourse service if you still feel rough tomorrow. Or is it just the hormonal thing?

very astute of your DSs though. Boys can be nice sometimes can't they?

OP posts:
RiallyEeRiaee · 03/10/2008 20:56

awww. Love cats

Suppose I should put my boys to bed. DH appears to be alive(he is settling baggins). Have spent my evening peering through the blinds at DMs trying to get a look at the little poppets, only for them to be coming just as DH arrived in the car so they went away again (It is getting to DM now as she just wants to see who it is. DF keeps going for a walk round the block. The police are patrolling from time to time at least). My eyes hurt.

RiallyEeRiaee · 03/10/2008 20:58

boys can indeed be nice. honest. ALL children have the potential to be nice (like men) they just don't necessarily show this potential to the people who matter.
