Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SalLikesCoffee · 04/10/2008 18:45

Thanks to Scorpio's IO mentioning I've gone to their website again and just remembered all the "ooh, I'm changing here", and "ah, see this bump" bits. I know practically it's SO not a good time for us now, but, well, uhm... Wouldn't mind if it happens, although I'd be scared stiff. See here, how nice an outfit is this to cuddle up with on dh's lap, with little R on my knee?!

scorpio1 · 04/10/2008 18:50

i know, i saw that earlier; its all nice.

Do it when its right Sal. 1-2 was my hardest gap. i have 2.4 yrs between my first 2, and only feel confident now to manage a shorter age gap!!

Although will get cleaner when im pg as i will have enough to do!

EllieG · 04/10/2008 19:45

Swwweeeet pic scorpio

I had my hair dyed brown today as fed up of roots and Molly didn't recognise me when I got home! Daft baby

Hello everyone

EllieG · 04/10/2008 19:46

Scorpio have emailed you wiv a question

SalLikesCoffee · 04/10/2008 20:51

Rofl @ Mimi. Not long now before she learns all this tittivating is loads of fun (not, but is if you're a little girl parading around in her mom's heels!)

MommyHasaHeadache · 04/10/2008 21:28

Talking of age gaps, a friend of mine has a toddler of 3, a baby of 6 months and twins on the way (she is 27 weeks pregnant!) I really do not know how she will cope!

Love that outfit Sal - looks so comfy!

Ahh poor Molly - must have been so strange for her to have her mum go out the door looking one way and have her coming back looking another! lol How long did it take her to realise it was you?

SalLikesCoffee · 04/10/2008 21:38

Oh good grief, sorry Ellie, just realised I've typed Mimi instead of Molly!

MommyHasaH - no way!!! No way, I'd run a mile (accompanied by 2 mini-me's, so not much point!) How is she? Phew, that takes some guts. However, according to my mom (I was born when my brother was 14 months old) it was easier as she was still into it (I'm the 4th child). Then again, I'm only one and still a slightly bigger gap! Phew.

MommyHasaHeadache · 04/10/2008 21:53

She is fine - glowing in fact - has already named the twins and is really excited! If it were me I would be demanding to move back to SA in order to have some help!

LadyBee · 04/10/2008 22:01

I just watched Juno, and am now super broody all over again.

I didn't buy any IO stuff last pregnancy and now feel a bit miffed I didn't treat myself. So will next time (assuming there is a next time ). Am also going to get a doula. Will justify this by telling DP (hopefully he'll be DH by then) that we don't have to buy anything new next time around (just a mattress I think) so can afford to spend a bit on the doula. And I want it.

Well...it's nearly done, I just about have tickets to NZ organised, with a sky cot booked and accomodation for a night stop in Singapore on the way out. Just waiting for details to be mailed to me so I can make the payment - everything's held for me though so feeling ok. I am bloddy petrified about doing the flight by myself and DP is morose about staying behind . I'm going to be away most of November into middle December.

SalLikesCoffee · 05/10/2008 01:07

Hahaha, we're all useless with this broodiness - not long now and we'll be comparing morning sickness and body pains again!

Ladybee, I know exactly what you mean about being petrified about flying alone (although yours is a bit longer than mine, granted). I'm flying with Roelof on the 1st of Nov with dh following two weeks later and I'm worried, to put it mildly. I keep telling myself lots of others have done it perfectly fine before and then desperately tries to think ok something else or eat chocolates...

Please ignore the following link - I want to ask style advice and wants to check if this link will work. basket

PortAndLemon · 05/10/2008 01:18

Ooops, forgot there was a new thread. That second tooth came through this morning -- phew!

SalLikesCoffee · 05/10/2008 01:27

PAL. Now you can relax, all back to normal!

Do you never have any problems bf-ing when they have teeth? Only asking out of interest, as I've stopped (not because of teeth) - but I was playing with R in the bath tonight, him sitting on my tummy, when he came over and lunged for my nipple, so I thought I'll cuddle him and let him comfort suck. Then he BIT me! Bloody hell, I tried smiling my biggest smile and getting him to release his jaw as relaxed as possible (while quietly wanting to scream!!!). I'm guessing if he was still bf-ing all the time he wouldn't have done that, right? Either that or you all need medals (and paracetamol)

SalLikesCoffee · 05/10/2008 01:32

black and white chiffon dress
Striped corsage polo neck top
Black suit trousers
Patent shoe boot
Suit jacket
Lace shift dress

(Will continue on next post)

SalLikesCoffee · 05/10/2008 01:34

sorry guys, i'm cracking up - wrong thread!

SuzeM · 05/10/2008 09:26

She's lovely, Scorpio.

Funny about Molly, Ellie.

My goodness MommyHasaH, your friend must be some woman!

IO is worth the money, I made about 2/3rds of it back on eBay.

Just got an email from a "friend" asking if E still has a big head! The cheek. E does have big hair though.

I have been admiring all your babies so here are photos of E if you are bored.

SalLikesCoffee · 05/10/2008 11:25

Oh Suze, she is gorgeous!!! You are looking lovely and so relaxed and happy too! Your "friend! is being stupid, wonder what that's about. Maybe she meant lots of hair and put it wrong?

SalLikesCoffee · 05/10/2008 11:53

Here's my "it's too cold to walk around naked"-plea-for-help tread if anyone's got ideas. So fed up of my current fitting clothes I can die.

scorpio1 · 05/10/2008 12:35

OMG Mimi loving toast this morning!

DH out all day. Have RL friend upset about her twattish boyfriend.

scorpio1 · 05/10/2008 12:58

just ordered mimi's tripp trapp - natural, with beige strip cushion, red baby set and red harness (unisex!) yay! so excited!

LadyBee · 05/10/2008 13:44

V jealous Scorpio. Unfortunately DS likes his IKEA job just fine, so we're sticking with it.
Although...I put a plea out before regarding getting the tray off. Is it possible? Anyone got one and can tell me how?

LadyBee · 05/10/2008 14:01

I'm going to experiment with some carrot sticks tonight with DS - see whether he's got the picking up and putting in mouth thing. I always eat when he's having his nap so there isn't a natural time to see whether he's ready, so will just have manufacture some opportunites for him.
Have been reading the weaning bits of my Your Baby Week by Week book, it does the puree route and says to cook pear, apple etc before pureeing it. Is this necessary? And if I was going to just give him pear to gum, that wouldn't need to be cooked would it? or would it?

scorpio1 · 05/10/2008 14:12

need to cook before puree yes, not when blw fruit

KnitterInTheNW · 05/10/2008 15:24

Oh god. My sister's got the 2 of us to see the wonderstuff in Birmingham at the end of the month. We'll go from Leicester where my parents live and George will stay with Grandma & Grandad there while we go. Now the little monkey's decided he won't take a bottle. He'll be fine won't he? He'll take half to one oz from me from the bottle, so I'm hoping he'll take it from my mum if he's hungry? I really want to go (It's the 20th anniversary of their 1st album and they're playing the whole album). Parents house is just less than an hour away from the venue. I'll be gone from about 6:30 til prob midnight. It's the longest I'll have left him, and the furthest away I'll have been. He WILL be fine. WON'T he. Mum's brilliant with him and I know she'll do whatever's needed to keep him happy so I'm not worried about that, it's just bedtime! (Panicking 1st time mum alert...)

scorpio1 · 05/10/2008 15:27

mimi is a sod with a bottle now

you need to practise alot, get someone else to feed it, with a cloth that smells of you near the baby,

mimi still wont take last feed from bottle but every other feed is fine

LadyBee · 05/10/2008 15:48

He'll be fine.
Won't matter for just one night if he doesn't go to bed at his normal time.
Your mum will hold him and hug him and make sure he's happy if he cries, and there are other ways to liquid in if bottle does work - she could let him lap from a cup, or spoon for eg. slow but something will go in.
He'll be fine.
