OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SuzeM · 06/10/2008 09:40

Ladybee, can you use your holidays and take a couple of days off each week so as to ease yourself back in?

Happy shopping Sal. The Limited and Autograph collections at M&S are good for work clothes, if your office isn't too formal.

scorpio1 · 06/10/2008 10:42

We are having pizza for tea - proper pizza though, no nastys in ingredients at all. Mimi be ok to have a slice you think? Is just tomato base, and cheddar & mozzeralla/pesto topping.

scorpio1 · 06/10/2008 11:28

I have just been sent free formula in the post, by tesco.

Heinz nuture follow on milk.

EllieG · 06/10/2008 12:49

Peachy - many hugs to you. Am sorry poor old Bas is having a hard time, and even more sorry for you. Don't feel selfish for feeling sad about your night out with DH, I think we'd all be the same. Hope CO sorts out a bit x

Don't know about pizza but I bet she'll like as sounds yummy. Bad about free follow-on milk though.

VictorianSqualor · 06/10/2008 13:39

Scorpio, Mimi should be fine with pizza, just be careful with the tomato.
As she has already had toast this week are you doing the wheat intolerance this week?
Peachy, so sorry to hear you've yet more worries. Hopefully it will be something triggered by an easily avoidable foodstuff.

scorpio1 · 06/10/2008 13:50

just trying those types of foods out, yes. she appears fine no allergies in family.

Peachy · 06/10/2008 14:42

Bas is seeing osteopath Saturday- fingers crossed!

Izza - yum!

Bas had eggy (gluten free) bread for lunch and loved it; not sure if egg affecting him or not so none tomorrow (as a control) will do agan weds then

Soph73 · 06/10/2008 15:30

Hi all, been trying to post all day but poxy computer playing up. Hi to Suze and ElliG Am still about you ladies going to fantastic places.
DS1 had his party at home yesterday, thoroughly enjoyed it but VERY noisy, thought I´d gone deaf when everyone went
Scorpio - great piccie of Millie Sam absolutely adores his food as well. At the mo he´s only having puree at lunch but think will have to start giving him dinner as is getting hungry later on in the afternoon.

Soph73 · 06/10/2008 15:32

Will try and catch up a bit more tomorrow. Am going for a break now and might be back, if not, see you in the morning

SalLikesCoffee · 06/10/2008 16:05

Peachy, thought about you last night when I was up with R. Think you should reattach your "saint" badge. You're one strong woman. Fingers crossed that osteopath will help Bas feel better soon.

I could do with some pizza myself now...

Here all good. Went to the paed this morning - lovely, lovely man. He said R is fine, examined the poor sod from top to bottom (). How spectacularly sad am this, but I was all proud when he said R's got the stability that babies usually only reach from 7 months onwards. Hehehe, firstly, I do realise how rediculous this is, it doesn't matter after all, and secondly, even if it did, nothing to do with me that he's sitting up. But I was all proud. Lol, dh and I did look at eachother when we left, walking down the street, all smug, and burst out laughing. How stupid are we?! I called my mom, asking her if we're sounding all annoying about thinking how "great" and "perfect" he is, and she just laughed, saying of course all parents think their children are perfect, as long as you don't go around telling other parents so. Gmpf, she never told me she thought I was perfect

After tasting vegetable Hipp Organics, I've gone totally off it - it tastes horrendous (or rather, doesn't at all). But then again, apparently I refused to eat any bottle purees when I was a baby too - it had to be fresh. I have however, found ones that I like - Plum Baby. It's horrendously expensive, so not for every day, but nice for lazy days emergencies and when out. Gave him the blueberry, banana and vanilla one last night - and almost had a heart attack when he had a dark purple nappy this morning, lol. Oh, the joys.

Ladybee - just want to check exact details again with dh again tonight, but remind me to tell you what he said to do if their ears are "blocked" on the plane. (You might know, in which case, tell me to shut up.) It's something like wait until he inhaled (e.g. when crying), and then block his nose for a second. And then again the drinking while going up or down that I knew about.

Soph73 · 06/10/2008 16:19

Sal - pleased to hear everything OK with R. LOL thinking about your smug expressions after
Peachy - am so sorry to hear about LO, hopefully it´ll sort itself out soon. Be strong, you can get through this

Peachy · 06/10/2008 16:24

LOL Sal- BAs limes plum baby too. Sensible lad likes m home amde ones best though (should do, e gets very spoled indeed!)

I find the pm ones are good as a base- I micx the salmon one (ank on its own) with squash or sweet potato and he loves it.

He also likes the Ella's ones, just as pricey!!

I used to use these for ds3 as it was all he'd eat but hard to get here in Wales- shame, they were fab

LadyBee · 06/10/2008 16:35

hah! I have just come home from lunch out with a friend with an 18 month old, who very helpfully decided that Benedict was looking hungry and fed him one of my chips. He grabbed it, put it in his mouth like it was the most natural thing in the world, did exaggerated chomping, then pushed most of it out his mouth. But not all I don't think.
So I guess we're starting.
Did experiment with carrot sticks last night anf he gnawed happily but had a bit of trouble picking them up but I think i cut them too skinny, so will try steamed bigger chunks tonight and see what he does.

Soph73 · 06/10/2008 16:41

LadyBee - well done Benedict

LadyBee · 06/10/2008 17:31

Those babylicious things look good - someone was telling me about food you can get in pouches with some sort of nozzle on it, that you can squeeze out what's needed. Do these ring a bell with anyone? I was looking online but couldn't find them but have no idea what they're called so a bit random.

SalLikesCoffee · 06/10/2008 17:38

Ladybee, yep, I've seen them in shops. One sec, I'll search for name. And yes Peachy - I'm so glad to hear you say they're good, as it is perfect if I can keep some in the freezer. Waitrose (Ocado) does them, so I'm going to order a couple as backup.

SalLikesCoffee · 06/10/2008 17:41

Ah, that's the Ella's Peachy mentioned I think. Once opened they'll keep for 48 hrs in the fridge.

Peachy · 06/10/2008 17:57

They're yummy, Bas wille asily eat two in a meal though!

We have no Ocado-

KnitterInTheNW · 06/10/2008 18:37

George is kind of off his food at the mo with teething, and will only entertain completely pureed fruit and veg, no meat or anything at the mo. He's had a couple of the plum baby food pots and loved them, and we went to the blue planet aquarium last week and I took a couple of the Ella's kitchen pouches, he ate almost all of both of them! At home he has pretty much all home made stuff. DH and I have almost no food for us in the freezer, I've filled it with George food! We've ordered a 2nd freezer but it won't be here for another couple of weeks. He loves rice cakes too, a tiny one keeps him entertained for ages! He was drinking from his sippy cup by himself too at teatime. He was very soggy by the time he was finished.

Who was it who was asking about how to get the try off the ikea highchair? I was in Ikea this afternoon and asked a member of staff for a demonstration, it seemed to be pretty much brute force that got it off! She managed it by pulling one of the sides at the back quite hard and once that was free, the rest came away more easily. Looked like hard work though!

Peachy, good luck with all the tests etc, and fingers crossed for the best outcome.

Has anyone else had an email from the PFJ? I got all excited thinking it might be an update but it was just a recommendation for some company or other, and signed off with 'regards'. Quite odd I thought.

KnitterInTheNW · 06/10/2008 18:38

Oh... Ellie?

Have you managed to take a pic of your scrumptious DD with her blanket yet?

scorpio1 · 06/10/2008 19:08

Knitter - that does sound odd....maybe email her back and ask her if she is ok? Was it a group email you got; copied to others?

Mimi went mad for her dinner tonight, she chewed and gummed the pizza to ickle tiny bits, occasionally spitting out mozarella lumps. Then custard - spoon fed but adored all the same. And not much mess at all!

Everyone is asleep here, DH out, bliss!

KnitterInTheNW · 06/10/2008 19:14

KnitterInTheNW · 06/10/2008 19:14

and it's from the email address I have for her from when I sent her some mini eggs.

scorpio1 · 06/10/2008 19:15

its not even English, is it?

I hope she is ok, i really do. Is it you that has her home address?

PortAndLemon · 06/10/2008 19:16

Someone's spoofed her email address, or she's picked up a virus that's taken over her email -- that email's clearly not been written by someone whose first language is English.
