Lilyloo - Am still highest bidder for wolf bid runs out on Sunday I think...

DH seemed good think medication is sorting him, my mum saw him today when she picked us up and could not believe the difference in him!!

DD struggles with poos think its because she poos soooo much at least 4 a day usually gave her weatabix last week which bunged her up but don't know what the culprit is this time, and she's drinking plenty of milk too

JKS - Very of chinese although advantage of staying at my mum's is I get dinner cooked for me!! Being good tonight no booze as mum and me consumed FAR too much yesterday

Lucky - Hope you managed to get some sleep last night??

Nicky - I need to get new winter clothes too...

LuckySalem · 03/10/2008 20:30

Right sleep last night was shocking. DD was up at 1am and awake till 2:30 at which point she fell asleep sideways in our bed and I couldn't sleep for worry she'd wake up and I wouldn't hear her till she hit the floor.
She's been in bed today since 7:30 though so Fingers Crossed that she stays there. I'm not bringing her into bed with me tonight though! I refuse!!

Re: A level - am having 2nd thoughts as its costing me £200 and it seems alot to just "have fun" which is all this one is going to be. So am thinking about contacting them to change to Maths which I actually want

MM - Brilliant news about Nathan. I hope things keep going.

MrsMcJnr · 03/10/2008 23:09

Tolalola ? we were in the BVI in April, it was gorgeous so I am sort of imaging you somewhere like that didn?t see any scorpions though, thank goodness- very scary! I got bitten to death by mozies and sandflies though; I thought it was because I was breastfeeding.

LaTrucha ? thanks for your thoughts hon, no luckily the meds don?t make me feel any differently at all. I do seem to be one of the lucky ones re the PCOS, suffered a lot with periods when I was a teenager but then went on the pill for 18 years and it seemed to cure my irregular cycles and the intolerable pain. Sorry to hear that Sabela is suffering so much with her teeth

Cazzy ? yes pregnant again but only just! your group sounds fun, groups like that are a life saver I?ve found you back at work?

Madmouse ? congrats on the tooth! And on Nathan?s progress, it is really fabulous and it must be lovely to see your efforts really helping him that lawyer head never quite leaves you does it the Dr was a bit taken aback by my cross examination last night

Hey Gingeme ? shame about the job

Simpson ? so glad that our day with DH went well you are right, somehow once you?ve seen the heartbeat everything seems more real

Lilyloo ? have a lovely day tomorrow

Nicky ? though I am the same weight as before DS it all seems to be distributed differently, I don?t know what happened to my waist!

JKS ? sounded like a lovely day

Lucky ? hope you have a better night!!

Cazzybaby · 04/10/2008 00:06

Simpson hows it going any poo's yet from DD? New mums group was good although getting more difficult now the abies are getting bigger as they get bored easily!

Lilyloo - My DD also getting more clingy recently think its the age that they are getting too! Hope you have a lovely weekend, what is Eurka??

JustKeepSwimming - I really fancy a chineese now, just got home from work and all thats on offer is cold pizza for me!

Lucky - Doind an a level seems a good idea, would like to do something like that at some point in the future. Are you going to college or doing it at home?

MrsMcJnr - Can't believe you are pregnant again! How is it all going? There was a little 7 week old in work this evening and it made me feel all broody, DP said no more for a few years yet! I am working evenings works well as DP has DD while i'm at work!

Right off to bed night all!

LaTrucha · 04/10/2008 10:09

Morning Ladies,

Sorry no time for a big catch up.

Just wanted to tell you that Woolworths have fabby sleepsuits ATM. They're a really light fleece so they're warm without being too warm. I couldn't find them on the website to do a link but I think they're great. And only £5 each.

Think our central heating might be broken. . I'm waiting for DH to double check it. All the repair guys will be really busy because everyone will have been putting the heating on for the first time lately, won't they? HO hum...

simpson · 04/10/2008 10:39

Hi all

Cannot WAIT till this afternoon!! The Dcs are going to see DH and I have an afternoon off!! I don't know what to do with myself!! Knowing me I will probably waste it and sleep as DD was truly shocking last night and I was up with her from midnight till 2.30am We have had to play musical beds here as my brother and girlfriend are here for the weekend so was sleeping in same room as DD but she soon cottons on that I am there and plays merry hell!!

LaT - hope heating is not knackered. We had same panic last week. DH rang me saying he couldn't get heating to work, then I remembered DS had been fiddling with the thermostat and had turned it too low

Cazzy - no poos today but lots of straining this morning!!

Mrs Mcjnr - Glad pg going well so far. Are you still bfing Xavier?

Lucky - How was last night?

Hope everyone else well...back later!!

LuckySalem · 04/10/2008 12:00

Morning/Afternoon all,

Last night wasn't too bad. She woke at 3:45 but went back down after about 15 mins so not too bad. Then up at 7:30am. Feeling really drained though - perhaps cos last night wasn't AS bad as the few before that.

Cazzy - Its a home course and I've decided Sod it, I wanna do it so I am. It was DP that made me re-think as he's panicked about the credit crunch.

Simpson - Hope your afternoon is fun

LaTrucha - Our heating is broke too and we really need to get it fixed. DD was in her room last night in her sleeping bag and her duvet and she was still cold to the touch.

My Auntie is coming over today - she hasn't seen DD since she was about 6m old so has missed alot. I think she will be shocked by all the changes.

I have a question for you all. I understand that DD is prob too young but do you manage to get your DC's to listen to you at all? DD keeps going towards the gas fire and we've told her no and moved her, I've tapped her hand when she tried to touch it. I've tried my sternest voice but she keeps going for it... Is there anything I can do?

Tolalola · 04/10/2008 16:09

mrsmcjr - oooh how funny that you were in the bvi! i wonder if we saw each other! i seem to always be seeing lots of other people with sweet babies now that i've got one too

bloody scorpions- we've had 4 in the house in the last week (including one in the drier!). luckily they're not really dreadful ones, and was born here so am fairly used to them. also am a zoologist, so feel it would be slightly crap to get too upset by them!

am very of anyone who has no teething grief...ds just got tooth number 6, and they've all been dreadful...

luckysalem...gas fire fascination v. scary! ds will listen usually if i tell him to 'come here' but 'no' only makes him pause, not stop whatever mischief he's into...wondering if squirt-bottle dog-training-type approach would be wrong

Cazzybaby · 04/10/2008 16:18

Lucky - good for you for deciding to go for it! No advise regarding the fire, DD is not mobile yet and struggles to reach and grab for things so we havent had the problem with things like that yet. I imagine that if you carry on with NO in a stern voice she will eventually begin to understand what it means??

Tolalola tooth number 6! Wow DD only just cut 1 and 2, can imagine that as the bigger ones come through they hurt more.

DD has fungal infection down below, feel bad for just thinking it was nappy rash and not realising! She has some cream from docs so hopefully will clear up soon

LuckySalem · 04/10/2008 16:27

Tolola - We have no teeth yet so am in awe of any babies with teeth but 6 I'm sure there is another of our babies who has 6 teeth somewhere I just can't remember who.

LuckySalem · 04/10/2008 16:27

simpson · 04/10/2008 17:22

Luvky - think gingeme's george has lots of teeth!! Still waiting for first one here too...

With regards to the fire does it work if you distract her? Agree with Tolalola that when Ds was small "no" did nothing even though he knew what it meant. Used to keep physically moving him myself or distraction worked well. Got all this to come with DD!!

JustKeepSwimming · 04/10/2008 19:37

ds2 has 8 teeth
and they weren't too bad coming through really, nowhere near some of the stories on here!

lucky - fireguard? only solution here with ds1! plus useful for putting other things behind like candles.

simpson - how was afternoon? hope dh was fine with the kids.

tola - good on you not being freaked out scared of scorpions though you are right about the being a zoologist thing but there must be some animals that scare you/you don't like?

had friends round, went to party, came home, friends gone home, dh cooking dinner, then an early night

madmouse · 04/10/2008 21:13

8 teeth , that's just showing off

well, how about 2 teeth in two days? Second bottom one came through today , just waiting to be bitten now .

all heatings fixed now? It was a cold night here, glad ours works. Had it serviced when we moved in this summer too. Stuck a vest under Nathan's pjs as he was cold this morning I think. he did not stop crying when I picked him out of his cot this morning and when I stuck him on my tummy under the duvet he was asleep in seconds! Was nice to have him in bed with me for a bit as dh was away on a leadership weekend thingie, came home tonight. Nathan always looks very surprised if dh is not in the big bed as he is his playmate

oh well, quiet weekend here. will try for an early night.

now Nathan goes in cot awake and do pupd as needed he has stopped waking three times per evening, but still not sleeping through

I desperatly want one but can't get a fireguard without spending £100's and I just don't have it. Have been trying to get one from freecycle but they go within seconds. We're meant to have free safety equipment but they're backlogged at the moment.

Am slightly of those with teeth as DD has NONE but then i'm glad none of the teething pains.

DD gone to bed at 9pm tonight (naughty mummy) but hopefully she'll sleep well. Am unsure what to do about her wakings in the night now as she wakes up, stands up and cries so I can't just wait for her to fall asleep again anymore like I used to and have to go in to lie her down again but am feeling a little wrong about that as it feels like i'm re-inforcing the behaviour. IYKWIM. Ahh well, play by ear I think.

LuckySalem · 04/10/2008 21:39

Oh I forgot to say MM - my heating still broke. This morning DD felt cold to the touch and she was wearing a vest, babygro, sleeping bag and quilt. I just don't know what to do. Need to get a repair man but no ££££'s at mo, Maybe i'll have to see if parents will pay for it to be fixed (AGAIN) for xmas like last year.? lol

simpson · 04/10/2008 21:46

Lucky - wouild it be cheaper to get a heater for DD's room that you can have on a timer? Our Dcs don't have central heating in their rooms at all ex council house central heating downstairs and bathroom. We have bought heaters for both Dcs and have it on a timer (when home!!)

DD had to sleep in a different room tonight due to my brother and girlfriend being here and there was a bit of a battle for bed

LuckySalem · 04/10/2008 21:49

Hmmm might look into getting a heater just for now. I wonder whether I can get one of those from freecycle? Thanks Simpson.
Sorry to hear about DD being a pain but new room probably the reason. Hope she plays nice for you tonight.

Gingeme · 04/10/2008 22:02

Evevning ladies.
Our heating is crap crap crap. Hate it. Its warm ha ha ha sorry erm warm air heating that only blows into our front room and the boys room. So no heating in our room, bathroom or kitchen. We have an oil heater in our room and one in the boys room in case it gets realy cold.
George has5 teeth and one poking through as we speak . We keep checking ds4's mouth too as he still has 4 molars to come and hes dribbling as much as ds5 George did bite me this morning on my elbow. I was so shocked I shouted and made him cry. Poor little love. He woke me at 4am clapping his hands. It was very cute and he is very clever but he could have pickd a better time to show Mummy his new talent
Anyway off to bed soon. Feeling pretty tired tonight.
Have a good night all xx

simpson · 04/10/2008 22:02

Went up earlier to loo and she was wide awake singing to her self!!

As long as she settles back to sleep on her own I will be happy!! Want to watch Match of the day tonight!!

You might be able to get one on freecycle otherwise DD's heater was £40 from homebase and has a timer and when its cold in the night it is normally set for on for an hour then off for two as when on makes room quite stuffy ifswim.

Gingeme · 04/10/2008 22:04

x post. We used to have heaters with timers till ds4 learnt they made a good clicking noise when you turn them round and round. Just something to think about for the future

LuckySalem · 04/10/2008 22:07

Will look into that heater.

Glad DD is happy - wish my DD would settle herself she's just too mobile now!! lol

simpson · 04/10/2008 22:15

Lucky - am dreading the time I had with DS when he learnt to pull himself up in cot to stand but could not get down again. Had to go in at at least 6/7 times when he went to bed.

DD is soooo frustrated she is not mobile. She is not even sitting up really as she tends to fling herself backwards although she managed 2 mins sitting today

LuckySalem · 04/10/2008 22:22

Simpson try this to help her sit up or this?

Gingeme · 04/10/2008 22:24

Or if you have a triangle feeding pillow sit up against that
