JustKeepSwimming · 01/10/2008 17:35

have got ds1 a fire engine (off ebay) and a book so far for christmas, trying to be restrained as he got far too much last year and i know the gparents will go overboard! so may ust add a stocking.
haven't got any ideas for ds2 - well i did, a singing upsy daisy as he loves her, but told mil about that so she's getting it! no i need to think of something else....prob is he has most things from ds1's toys already. tell me what you're getting your LOs for ideas for me

gingeme - i have a mooncup but haven't had a chance to use it, well i had af last week but was too chicken am planning to use up my 'supplies' then not buy anymore to force me to use it. let me know how it goes

right, my parents here for a few days so should be sociable!

Gingeme · 01/10/2008 18:22

Same here jks re toys. Plus ds5's birthday being so near Christmas. Might ask people to give money for his birthday to put in his trustfund.
I will have to wait till next month too to use it. Just at the tail end now bloody hate it all.
DH and I were having the 'what would you buy for youself if you won the lottery?' talk this morning. I said lipo suction on the waist down and some mega good hair extensions at Jerome Russell hair salon and maybe a boob lift
Anyone else?

simpson · 01/10/2008 18:40

Gingeme - definately a tummy tuck for me I would also want a full time chef so I would NEVER have to cook again!! Would also buy a tumble dryer so I don't have to dry clothes around house.

Thinking about it I would employ someone to do ALL housework as well

Then in my free time (that I would have been ironing, cooking etc) I would buy a horse...

Can you tell that me and DH have had this conversation in the past too...

Lilyloo · 01/10/2008 19:47

Def a boob job as i know when finish bf dd2 that bf 3 dc's will def have taken it's toll
JKS i have got dd this for £5 off ebay and also this £5 in sale at asda so that will be it might do a little stocking!

Gingeme · 01/10/2008 19:54

lillyloo bargain

Lilyloo · 01/10/2008 19:57

I love a good one makes me laugh as ds had so much it was overfacing and then paired it down for dd1 and now dd2 lol i know she will prefer the paper and boxes!

simpson · 01/10/2008 20:02

Lilyloo - thats just what I was thinking today. Not buying her much as she will play/eat paper etc

Bought wooden train set from tchibo for DS even before he was born bargain at £5!! So he is having that as his main pressie this year!! Also got a peppa pig DVD for £4 from woolies today!!

However have bought NOTHING for DD. Want to get her those blow up thingies that roll & have bells in they play with but are £8/9 in ELC want to find it a bit cheaper...

nicky6 · 01/10/2008 20:19

Thanks all. Yes everything absolutely fine here.
Charlie still wonderful and sleeping 12.5 hrs at night so no complaints, she eats really well, and has dropped all bottles apart from milk with cereal in the morning and bottle before bed.

Not really looking forward to work but think I will see how it goes and take it from there.

Glad everyone sounds in good spirits

Lilyloo · 01/10/2008 20:26

Simpson will have a look for you Might be worth putting wanted on here!

Ladies you should look on here at toys dvd's etc i have got a peppa dvd £3.75 delivered and put a wanted on for baby annabell stuff for dd and got a bnib for half price!

JustKeepSwimming · 01/10/2008 20:48

i just bought a fisherprice table toy thing through ebay, should have waited to give it to ds2!

g - dh always says he would get a dog, cos he could also get a dog walker (as i hate going out in the winter/rain/dark!).
i would:
a) pay off mortgage (boring but handy)
b) buy an audi TT
c) go to one of the posh department stores and get a personal shopper to totally redo my wardrobe
d) go mad buying kids toys
e) torture myself with a personal trainer to get into shape!

ooh, lots more, can't think right now!

JustKeepSwimming · 01/10/2008 20:49

oh and no-one is respecting my capitals/new found maturity !!!

Lilyloo · 01/10/2008 20:56

Someone selling one of the leap frog tables on the toy section on here!

JKS much respect

AngeChica · 01/10/2008 21:19

well am loving the dreams of winning the lottery ... I would get a swanky apartment in Barcelona my favourite place in the world.

Work was actually OK, was thrown straight back in at the deep end with a lot of things going on so I didn't have too much time to fret about DS. He has been a good lad for the CM but was really knackered and grumpy this evening, so I feel have missed out on any happy time with him today. Still, at least we have no more work til Monday now!!

Have had a shock tonight, my mum rang having been in hospital for 24 hours, having had an allergic reaction to some drugs she was given for a medical condition she has (luckily she was still at the hospital when it happened). She went into anaphylactic (sp?!) shock, and actually had a Near-death experience like you hear about, with the tunnel and the light and she also saw her mum, my grandma who died about 5 years ago, waiting to meet her on the "other side" . Which has totally freaked her out. They didn't want to tell me last night in order not to worry me the night before I was going back to work! Anyway they are going to see if she has any permanent damage to her heart which is worrying, but she's home now so that's reassuring. Felt sick at the thought of anything happening to her.

simpson · 01/10/2008 21:23

JKS - I am totally respecting you

Lilyloo - would love leapfrog table thingies but unfortunately no room in front room after enormous learn & groove takes it all up

Nicky - glad things ok

Angechica - hope work was ok today

BTW does anyone use Hipp organic follow on milk?? Have a whole unopened tin of the stuff and it makes DD VERY constipated. If anyone wants it, its theirs!!!

Lilyloo · 01/10/2008 21:28

Ange hope she ok !

Am loving the xmas thread !

simpson · 01/10/2008 21:40

Angechica - x post!! OMG hope your mum is ok now. What a scary thing to happen Glad work ok even if you were dropped in it. At least it makes the day go quicker!!

Lilyloo - to continue re Xmas the £ shop here is FAB!! Got 3 different puzzles for DS yesterday!! They had some "fake lego" which I got as stocking filler.

DS totally OBSESSED with wolves ATM. Does anyone know where I could get a plastic one?? Like the animals in ELC but a wolf?? He would love it.

Lilyloo · 01/10/2008 21:49

Simpson here ?

Gingeme · 01/10/2008 21:58

Oh my God Angechica keep us posted please? My Mum had a heart atttack 10 years ago, because she smoked, and had a ear death experience. She could see a tunnel and could hear our dog barking above her at the end of the tunnel so to speak but could hear her grandchildren all laughing and calling her below her so she came back. Scary stuff.
JKS surely if it was a realy big win you wouldn't have to worry about your mortgage you could just go and buy a mahoosive house and pay it straight off

Gingeme · 01/10/2008 21:59

he he an ear death experiance sorry !

madmouse · 01/10/2008 22:25

(grovels and bows to J.K.S) evening your highness

hi all

boring old day here, except that the other mums with cerebral palsy kids on the special needs thread agree it is a Good Thing that Nathan now plays with his hands, ie bashes, pulls, fusses his right hand with his left and uses his left hand to stuff the right one in his mouth .

just finished scrubbing the living room. Kid you not saw a woodlouse come by with a dustfluff bit on his back. time for action . So was still busy with that when dh came home from doing a talk somewhere at 9.30 (anybody else watched Holby tonight - ended up with a sleeping Nathan on my shoulder for most of it could not bring myself to go upstairs)and bless him he sorted out the kitchen/dishwasher despite being knackered.

Things are going better here. Feeling closer again to dh and loving seeing dh and ds totally besotted with each other, so cute.

Nathan has decided he can handle a tommee tippee cup after all cheeky monkey. Decided to offer it again after many refusals, he grabs one handle, stuffs it in his mouth and drinks and leaks but hey.

Ange, hope your mum is ok

you lot mad, what is wrong with all your bodies that you need plastic surgery, especially you ginge, you have borne 5 gorgeous boys with it! Sorry, being pedantic, could never consider it, although I don't particularly like my body, am heavier than I was after the birth I think, but feel a real pride that I have given birth.Oh rant over, sorry

Christmas presents? We don't do them here, well not until Nathan finds out what they are at least. dh used to have a very demanding job with long hours and he has very high standards and I just knew the stress and panic he had trying to think of something for me and find the time to sort it, so or tradition is that we have some really nice food (ie M&S smoken salmon and some chocolates we both love) and go shopping in the sales without guilt.

I think it is time I stop, filling this whole bloddy thread on my own. verbal diarrea.

MrsMcJnr · 01/10/2008 22:28

Poor Bluebell touch wood, only been sick once so far. I have my 1st drs appointment tomorrow and am a bit nervous, new country, new drs, new meds etc, lets hope he knows about issues like mine or I?ll be on the 1st flight back to the UK!

Gingeme ? will be interested to hear how you get on with the mooncup! I?d have much more space if I won the lottery and lots of people to clean it, a chef would be nice too!

Hey Nicky6, thanks for the congrats, hope all is ok with you x

Simpson ? I had to move DS back to the medium flow or size 2 teats as the fast ones were too fast for him. I think our activity station must be different to yours as we don?t have a book? so glad to hear DH was on good form

Angechica ? glad to hear it went well at work sorry to hear that about your Mum, very scary x

Madmouse ? glad the counselling is going well hon x

JKS ? CDs are in plastic boxes tucked away

Lilyloo ? I have 7 Christmas pressies

Hello LaTrucha

Resigned today got lovely emails back from my 3 bosses, was quite taken aback!

Gingeme · 01/10/2008 22:31

Aw madmouse so glad things are going well at yours. Nathan sounds a little star.
Tankyou for the compliment. Guess I'm just lazy

simpson · 01/10/2008 22:38

Lilyloo - cheers for that!! Have just bid for it Ds would love it!! Fingers X I win!!

Madmouse - Funny isn't it they decide to do things when they feel like it re tommy tippee cup!! DD has now decided she does quite like BLW and ate broccoli for tea and 2 raspberries for pudding but wouldn't do it last week

Lilyloo · 01/10/2008 22:42

Simpson fingers crossed just checked my animals and no wolves sorry! Why do they always go for something against the grain ?!

simpson · 01/10/2008 22:51

Tell me about it!!

He used to be obsessed with trees now its wolves!!

Got him the 3 little piggies book (the one where no piggies die or anything horrid, they escape ) I must have read it 100 times a day and he is obsessed that our house is brick so it can't be blown down!! I wonder what goes on in his little mind sometimes!!

Not helped by DD doing her "creaking door" impression which Ds is convinced is a wolf cry!! I think I live amongst a house of loons sometimes
