Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LaTrucha · 16/11/2008 18:07

Lily - I think you can get an extra strap - the lady in our baby shop was talking about them. I'll find out for you tomorrow. (Attempts to plug in brain...)

She sounds like she's going to keep you on your toes!

simpson · 16/11/2008 18:08

LOL

Do you think she will remember how she did it tomorrow? You might be lucky and it was a one off!!

Wouldn't even enter DD's head to try and climb out...I wouldn't have thought there would be room Little monkey!!

Lilyloo · 16/11/2008 18:11

Neither would i didn't see her do it little terror!

Thanks LaT think she has to keep going in case she realises she is tired [manic]

LaTrucha · 16/11/2008 18:34

Just gave Sabela a cup with a spout for the first time proerly (ie control freak me actually let her hold it). She's only holding it with one hand, but she's getting water and MY is she pleased with herself.

I've decided it's time to let her get dirty. I've been a bit of a clean freak up to now but it's time to take the plunge and give her the spoon!

simpson · 16/11/2008 19:37

Have to confess don't like mess much either and have yet to brave it and give DD the spoon She does drink water from a tommy tippee cup and has some milk from a nuby cup and she is just like Sabela, all chuffed she can do something herself

fillybuster · 16/11/2008 20:03

Hi all - bit of a full on weekend here but all good.

Susie - hi! Sorry for stropping just felt in need of some attention ...glad I amused Lilyloo I loved your nose story....Tamara was lying on my tummy in bed recently and obviously vaguely remembered that breasts were associated with milk (I stopped feeding 4 months ago...a long time in baby terms!) so tried to latch on - but to the side of my breast! Very cute for a moment

MM - sounds like Nathan is doing brilliantly...well done

MrsMc - can only second what everyone else has said about the tests and whether you'd do anything about the results anyway

Katie - omg, it does sound tough...sorry H is waking T so much - I wonder, is there anything you can do about that? It does sound as though you're getting up a lot earlier than you might want to with H because you're worried about Tom waking up....I found that ds sleeps through Tamara crying no problem, what wakes him is me moving around the house...maybe worth leaving H to cry/settle and see if Tom resettles himself if he doesn't think you're up and about?

Simpson - love the keys...genius!

Lucky - about your dps family, they should be beating down the door to see your lovely little girl - it must upset both of you so much. Did something happen to trigger a falling out or are they just being crap?

um...drawn a total blank...sorry....love to all xx

fillybuster · 16/11/2008 20:04

Oops - Hi Gingeme!!

Lilyloo · 16/11/2008 20:05

wow dd would be starving by now she sill NOT let me feed her and has to do it all herself.
I am somewhat thinking i may have trouble on my hands here

Hope Sabela and Simpson dd (name loss) have a messy week

simpson · 16/11/2008 20:16

Lilyloo - reckon I will last about 5 seconds with giving DD (Molly) the spoon!!

How much milk does everyones Lo's have?? DD is having about 9 ozs ATM and CANNOT get more in her. If I put it in food then she takes less out of bottle iyswim. May ask GP tomorrow. Hosp were useless and didn't even pick up on weight loss. Neither did I as they gave me weight in kilos not pounds

madmouse · 16/11/2008 20:19

Nathan is waving!! , if you say hel-lo Nathan and wave he will wave back, so cute

I am sure he is also saying hello, sounds like ay-o, but the intonation is the same as hello. clever lad

jks I am in awe of Henry's achievement. I know his sleeping has been bad for a while, but this sort of developmental leaps can also cause sleeping problems.

I think some of it may cause Nathan's bad sleeping too, although there is also an emerging tooth and far too much going on in his little life recently

Talking of which, he has 9 month check with hv on wed, but we have first appointment with the community paed who will take over from his consultant neonatologist next friday. thinking about cancelling hv, I bet they will all do the same thing. is that reasonable you think?

susie, the mess is never as bad as you imagine. I find tesco own brand stain remover the best and what does not come out bleaches well int he sun after washing

Hey ladies had to go to bed at 8pm last night I had such a horrible headache that said, I didn?t feel the benefit of it this morning. Wore mat trousers today for the first time they were so comfy, that said, I grew out of those ones at 18 weeks last time!

Lucky ? Aaliyah?s rash doesn?t sound like teething at the top of the nose, how odd, is it still there? Sorry to hear about DP?s sad upbringing do you really care that much that they are not in Aaliyah?s life based on what you know?

Simpson ? how is it going with the milk in the cup? I really must try again your poor DD sorry to hear she?s not that well My DS has about 24oz of milk from bottles a day plus milk in his cereal and a fromage frais.

Gingeme ? hope your DS learns to do his long sleep first at night soon! I need to get a baby gate for the kitchen too, my DS has a thing about wires, and its worrying isn?t it?

JKS ? can?t think what you and your DH were up to the other night not much like that going on here recently sorry to hear about the awful night after that and like you, I am mega peed off if the cats wake me in the night (which they do frequently ) wow, what progress for H, amazing how quickly they get going!

Angechica ? Guess I should be remembering about those muscles again too (and sqqquuueeeeeeeezzzze! ) my DS always sleeps really well after soft play too.

Madmouse ? poor you, what a rotten night you had on Fri, glad last night was better! No wonder Nathan?s nappy was full after all that milk! I like your thinking on the tests but whilst I am with you on the termination point, I do think there would be value in knowing ahead of time if there is anything special about this baby but I guess if there is you get up to speed pretty quick when they arrive don?t you? Look at you after all, a fabby Mummy to a special baby LOL like the new thread idea! feeling hopeful yourself hon? Nothing from Barristermum for a while sorry to hear about your friend, scary times wishing her lots of luck for the next growth scan. Clever boy on the waving, I?m still waiting for Xavier to do that though he does say ay-o too

Lilyloo ? hey there thanks for the views on the tests sorry to hear about DD?s tricks, makes life harder for you, is that the Ikea highchair your DD got out of?

Hi LaT ? thanks for your thoughts hope tonight?s a good one for you.

Hey Filly DS sometimes likes to look down my top as if he is remembering too! how come you know everyone?s real names??!!

AngeChica · 16/11/2008 20:52

Yay Nathan reaches milestones ahead of Alek again. Clever lad.

DS only has 14 oz of milk now, but he eats a
lot of scran!

Last word on the car incident, DH now tells me when the PC called him and said "I'm in Netto car park with your wife", he said "What, has she been shoplifting again?" . Now I keep LOL at the very idea of shoplifting from Netto .

have a good week. wishing better sleep for all.

simpson · 16/11/2008 20:58

Angechica - LOL

madmouse · 16/11/2008 21:15

lol ange, with a husband like that who needs enemies

simpson that is very little milk. how often a day do you offer it?

mrsmc, when i declined tests I was told I should have them to prepare, but I decided that if there was something seriously wrong I woud see it on the 20 week scan, ie short femur, heart defect, no skin over spine etc. fact is, I was expecting a healthy baby according to the scan and look where we were 12 hours after birth. you do catch up quickly and nothing prepares you, i have never felt emotions like it. but that is me, I am not judging anyone who takes different decisions and I try very hard not to judge anyone who has a termination although I can think of plenty of people who would ahve terminated if dr had told them 'your baby is brain damaged, likely to be blind, probably some mobility issues, strong likelyhood of epilepsy and possibly some specific learning issues like dislexia', yet that was Nathan's early prognosis can you imagine?

by the way guys, I am sooo touched how you celebrate every milestone with me, it is especially touching when you are happy that Nathan reaches a milestone before your own dc

simpson are you still concerned about sitting? When she sits does she prop herself up with her arms in front of her? Does she try to lift up one/both arms to play? does she try to catch herself on her arm if she falls sideways? how does she come out of sitting? sorry, trying to determine if she needs physio or just time?

Lilyloo · 16/11/2008 21:16

Ange there is a credit crunch on don't ya know!"

Mrs Mc sorry to hear you were unwell but good on you getting the mat trousers out comfort well worth it or do you remember the elastic bobble expander

Simpson love the name Molly , do you not call her that much or have i a slow memory? But our neighbour called that and she here a lot so we couldn't! Get lot's of bibs with arms! Or white food!

Filly , My that was a quiet entrance !

MadM wow Nathan really is determined to not just keep up but be one step ahead it's lovely to hear esp from him!!

JKS far too quiet i hope your not asleep

No Mrs Mc it's the (aah) ladies help me forgot name of highchair a wooden german sounding one but the cheaper version of the really expensive one hmmmmmmmmmmmm it will come to me!

madmouse · 16/11/2008 21:17

oh mrsmc I forgot to say, err yes, hoping for myself too , we are not using anticonception and just seeing what happens. have had a period now, so lets see.

OP posts:
madmouse · 16/11/2008 21:18

lily, stokke tripptrapp? Nathan has that one (the only one small enough for his tiny bum) and it has a full harness.

OP posts:
Lilyloo · 16/11/2008 21:19

Madm i x posted with you then not in response to your comments r/e Nathan i can still remember how scary that time was even for us never mind you!
Really love hearing how fab he is doing!

Lilyloo · 16/11/2008 21:20

xxx yeah MM it's the cheaper version of that

simpson · 16/11/2008 21:25

Madmouse - She can sit for about 20 seconds. She can hold a toy or rotate one on her lap but won't try and stop herself from falling. Can fall in any direction front, side or back

She is offered 4 bottles (with 5ozs in each) but turns head away most of the time

Lilyloo - Not sure if I have put DD's name on here before Dh hated the name when I was pg but came round to my way of thinking LOL at white food!! She manages finger foods well though.

madmouse · 16/11/2008 21:32

try propping her up on her arms leaning forward. if she won't it may be good to let physio have a look. she should by now normally be trying to catch herself forward and starting to do so sideways (it is called parachute reflex)
I am no expert though, so don't let me panic you

does she have lots of tummy time? does she push herself up on long arms chest off the floor?

OP posts:
simpson · 16/11/2008 21:41

Madmouse - she is ALWAYS on tummy and pushes herself up ok but can't get on knees iyswim. She can swivel round in a circle but can't go forwards or backwards.n But does move round room by rolling.

Don't worry you are not panicking me just want to do the best for her iyswim

Lilyloo · 16/11/2008 21:47

mY friends dd never crawled just bottom shuffled maybe she going to do that ?
Simpson what are the highchairs called i can't remember and it's buggin me!

simpson · 16/11/2008 21:53

Don't think she will bum shuffle as she can't even stay on it LOL

Do the highchairs have names just thought it was tchibo own brand?

Lilyloo · 16/11/2008 22:00

Simpson thanks it was Tchibo couldn't remember!
She will be off before you know it am sure!
What is she like with ds ?
