Mmmm, but don't you need to ovulate to get pg? And I've not got my periods back yet, so presumably I'm not ovulating? Anyway, I need to leave a few stones before I have another.

JammyOLantern · 02/10/2008 06:03

OMG, I've got to share my good news! For some months now I have had niggles in my lower back on waking, and in recent weeks these have got rather worse, to the point where those early morning tasks of getting Jamlet up and getting her some milk out of the fridge, and feeding the cat, have been worrying. Without telling her this, last night my reflexologist said she thought I had just caught my sciatic nerve and could she treat it, warning me it would hurt. She was absolutely, it hurt like hell (on the foot) for about 15 seconds. But this morning ? everything is absolutely fine

(Didn't stop jamlet waking at 5.20 though )

NattyTombstoneAndEyeballs · 02/10/2008 08:20

good for you jammy.. sounds like a really clever thing ur reflexology stuff!
and dont worry u didnt put ur foot in it, we CAN talk about pregnancy i wont get upset lol. its not like i CANT get pregnant, im just not having very sticky babies!

HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 08:40

morning all

I am a bit tired... did 30 lengths of the pool last night. I am so unfit. I needed it though, since being ill I gained 1/2 a bloody stone, gotta shift it again now.

DS is a bit unwell. He has a bad cough. Poor sod is a bit grumpy and clingy.

HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 08:41

Jammy, you still haven't got your periods back yet?!

JammyOLantern · 02/10/2008 08:46

Nah, nothing. Not sure if I should be pleased or worried.

JammyOLantern · 02/10/2008 08:47

Well done on the swimming!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/10/2008 08:49

Wow jammy, that's ace! I am always a bit of alternative therapies, but they often seem to work. Isn't it strange how poking your foot can fix your back? I think it's wonderful and I would love to know how it works!

I've only just finished my second period since ds was born. The joys of constant bfing!!

Poor ds fury, hope he is ok.

It's bloody freezing here! I'm trying to hold out on putting the heating on until it starts getting frosty. Has everyone else put theirs on yet?

JammyOLantern · 02/10/2008 08:59

Trying not to put the heating on til end Oct, but have had it on for the odd hour or so to get some clothes dry.

It's odd. Because ILs are coming this morning, but I don't know when exactly (only that they must be here by 11) I've done all the chores already and it's not even 9 oclock!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/10/2008 09:03

I'm going to try and hold out til the beginning of Nov, we are fine at the moment, it's just the early mornings that are super chilly. Dp was moaning that he was cold the other day and was wondering whether to put the heating on...he was wearing shorts and a t-shirt! I told him to stop being so soft and put a jumper on!

HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 09:10

I have to put the heating on. DH is Aussie and doesn't know how to wear anything with long sleeves. Given he pays the bills I let it go.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/10/2008 09:16

Dp has that problem too fury. He gets home from work and puts shorts and t-shirt on and then wonders why he is cold! We are getting the cavity walls done soon, hopefully that'll make a big difference to my super cold house. It really is the coldest house in all the world!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/10/2008 09:17

Any more rats?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/10/2008 09:18

Is it odd and chavvy to dress my dd the same as me? I am wearing skinny jeans with a baggy jumper and Uggs and am just about to put the same sort of outfit on dd. Is that weird?

HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 09:24

I don't think it's weird. If it were matching faux burberry with berets and an attitude then I might turn and laugh while coughing a little.

No more rats.... hopefully!! I think we caught 10 in all.

On saturday I am dropping DS off at mums then me and DH are checking into the Canary Wharf Hilton for the night

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/10/2008 09:26

Wow fury, that sounds lovely! Hope you and dh have a night of passion !

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 09:39

at your night of passion fury.

The closest I get to passion at the minute is the fruit in my smoothies!

I had a pretty decent sleep (I only woke twice) last night for the first time in weeks and feel bloody awful today .

It was bloody carnage on here last night. Did anyone see any of the troll threads?

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 09:49

no daisy - can you link?!

Night of passion night of SLEEP!

HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 09:54

It was going to be passion but yesterday DH found out his mum may have breast cancer and so I don't think he's thinking passion atm.

The mammogram revelaved a benign tumour but the doc thinks there is cancer underneath, the biopsy did not reveal it. So she is going in for surgery.

DH is very upset - MIL has been very ill with MS for years and he thinks it's very unfair.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 10:08

aw, fury, that's awful about your MIL . I hope it's benign, whatever they find.

All the threads were pulled last night but it all got pretty nasty; MN at it's very worst I think with wild speculations and accusations everywhere. Apparently someone who had been posting as a 16 yo young mum was outed as a troll, and was actually a regular MNer pretending to be her DD.....I had a run in with this poster on another thread, so had my doubts about her (posting style was so very mature for a supposed 16 yo) and had avoided her threads. Anyway, there was all sorts of speculation about who the regular poster was and demands to MNHQ to out them, and now the Christmas appeal has been put on hold for fear of trolls just having registered to benefit from it. All very sad. Made me a bit ashamed to be a part of MN really, especially as one poster was being blamed just because she happens to have a sad story, no other reason at all. Like if you are vulnerable and post on here you are obviously out to fleece people. The vitriol of some was pretty grim; posters who I had thought better of to be honest

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 10:12

Oh dear that's a bit harsh
But to be expected I suppose - after all that yummymummy shit and reading about all the scams etc etc I kind of lost my faith in my assumed good nature of people.

It's a shame.

What is the christmas appeal?

Unfortunately as well though, it's a hazard of the internet. It's so easy to create an email account, for a forum like this that's all you need to create a new person.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 10:16

christmas appea started a few years ago when that hamper place went tits up. People all chipped in to send stuff to the posters who had been affected by it and it worked really well. They did it again last year and you could donate or nominate (yourself or someone you thought was in need for whatever reason). I donated some stuff last year and was going to do again this year.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 10:18

shit, meant to say (the reason I came on earlier) is that I've had a text from Trace to say that Chloe is ion theatre and that she will let me know how she is later.

big fat vibes winging their way.

LittleMissNorty · 02/10/2008 10:42

Morning - I caught a bit of that troll stuff as well last night ....couldn't keep up with it so didn't bother in the end.

Hope all is going well with Chole xx

Natty.....I also agree with the others (not that I have any experience)....but give yourself and rest and some time to grieve...hope you are feeling better.....is it your scan today?

I feel like complete shit today....also got a cold and can't take any decongestant....my bedroom stunk last night with Karvol, Vicks and Olbas oil....all to no effect and I'm knackered today....need to get some sleep as I'm driving to Carlise tomorrow ....I'm super irritable as well ....mind you, midwife is referring me to mental health team .....only taken 5 months!

Daisy....how are you feeling today? 5 weeks to go....how scary! Are you organised for Xmas?

LittleMissNorty · 02/10/2008 10:43

meant to say Fury..... about MIL....if there is anything I can help with (tis my area of work), please let me know....
