Christmas......erm, no that doesn't mean anything to me at all. Haven't got a single pressie organsied, but in hindsight it might be worth getting it all done beforehand (though I suspect everyone will just be getting cash this year!). We don't even have the facitilies to cook any dinner since our cooker is out of action. All we have is the hob and a combi microwave!

and here I am worried about a pram

Chloe's op is five hours long so she should be out of theatre around 2 o clockish.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 02/10/2008 10:53

blimey....5 hours is a long time.....

RiallyEeRiaee · 02/10/2008 11:00

five hours

for your MIL fury.

you seem a bit more positive today natty hope all goes well.

hi LMN. bugger about the cold. you can put your feet in hot water and mustard I believe

jammy, am of your reflexology. It's something I've always wanted to train in and if it cures sciatica I'll have to try it (I have a voucher from #BFs partner that she gave me for xmas, I wonder if she would still do it now we aren't posh/rich enough to be their friends?)

hi holly!

hi anyone I've missed.

Sputnik · 02/10/2008 11:31

I too got distracted by the troll carnage last night, don't know why I bothered really but it's compulsive. Fair enough about the supposed 16 yo but no one had any proof she was the same poster as the other person mentioned (regardless of whether they are genuine), so all a bit pointless. Also the pack mentality that emerges sometimes on MN is pretty unpleasant.

And why stop the appeal? I though it was restricted to people who have been registered over a year anyway?

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 12:01

I'm not sure why it would impact on the appeal really; the suggestion that ec might have nominated him/herself under a different name or whatever was only that; a suggestion.

And poor C v Q; I've passed a few emails back and forward with her, and she has a genuinely tragic story . What got me about that particular roasting was the fact that two regular posters, one of whom has met her and spent time with her (and who knows how vulnerable she is), seemed to be airing a personal grievance on the thread that had nothing to do with the trolling. If she is indeed a friend of hers then surely approaching her directly would be the thing to do, rather than getting a whole pack of people to turn against her.

Reminded me of a mediaevel (sp?) witch hunt

{{{{{{hugs and love}}}}}}}}}} for Trace and Chloe this morning.

HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 12:32

now do I go and get a kit kat chunky......

Ohforfoxsake · 02/10/2008 12:35

So sorry to hear about your MIL Fury. Hope DH is OK.

Lordy, is it that time again? When threads go mad? Poor CvQ. I have utmost admiration for her. A brave woman.

I am not functioning well today. Went out and met an old, old friend who has just moved into the area. Went to a lovely pub for dinner, and she did some good counselling of me. Got back and another bottle of wine with DP we stayed up talking properly until 3am (there are 3 empty wine bottles in the the recycling this morning, and we had two in the pub ). Anyway, we made a lot of progress and we have spoken again today about the significance of what was said, so it wasn't just pissed babble. I felt quite brave and told him alot (although not all) of what I know/think/suspect/need. It was good.

I told him its because I'm not used to people asking questions about me as my friend had done. He said "I don't do that". I could almost hear that penny drop.

Ohforfoxsake · 02/10/2008 12:36

peanut kit kat

oooh, I got Wispas in the fridge.

But am waiting for DP to bring me a burger and chips back from the Greasy Spoon.

HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 12:38

oh foxy that's good news... I hope the penny drops and makes for a long term difference.

now I want a wispa.

Sod it - time to get fat. I am going swimming again tonight so I can have a treat methinks.

Sputnik · 02/10/2008 12:41

Glad you got a chance to talk properly to your DP Foxy. Worth a slight hangover.

Ohforfoxsake · 02/10/2008 12:42

Did you know you get 15% cashback from Ann Summers via Quidco Fury?

Ohforfoxsake · 02/10/2008 12:51

Why did I think that relevant?

Hows things Sputnik?

HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 12:51

yes! Woohoooo

LOVING quidco - so far in 3 months I have saved £90 through them. Bargain.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 12:52

sounds positive foxy; I'm glad the two of you are talking and hopefully you've given him something to think about.

Have the Wispas; chocolate is great for hangovers

I had a wispa the other day; I'd forgotten how lovely they are. They used to be my chocolate bar of choice in my yoof; them and peanut boost bars.

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 12:53

crappy tesco didn't sell wispa so have bought 4 kit kat chunkys.

But they were on speciaaaallllllllll

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 12:55

Just had a text from Trace; Chloe is back on the ward, and all went well. She is still sleeping at the minute.

I'm feeling all weepy and emotional about it; a reminder of DSs op when he was two I suppose.

what is this Quidco thing of which ye speak? never heard of it....and very suspicious of something that gives you money for nothing

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 12:57

quidco is a cashback site. You get x% off whatever you buy.

here

I also use an AMEX/Egg money cashback credit card when I buy anything, they I get even more money off.

HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 12:58

Yay for Chloe!

I hope Trace is feeling relieved, and so glad to hear it went ok.

They have been through so much, Trace has the patience of a saint.

Ohforfoxsake · 02/10/2008 13:02

Big hugs for that brave little girl and her brave mummy

JammyOLantern · 02/10/2008 13:19

OK, gotta go, need to get back on that phone. Good thing is I'm taking the call from the bedroom. First work meeting I've ever beein in wrapped up in a duvet with the cat at my feet!

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 13:26

I once had a work call with a priest in the nude (me, not the priest, well I assume not)

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 14:13

the mind boggles sputnik

what job were you doing at the time? telephone chatline host?

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 02/10/2008 14:15

once, I was working overseas and had forgotten to give one of the office keys to my boss. So he stopped by my house to pick them up (this is going back to when I lived with my parents).

My mum is no retiring wallflower and answered the door believing it to be postman/one of her drunk children the morning after/drunk childrens boyfriends/friends/girlfriends etc... but no, twas my boss, and she was wearing nothing but a tight cropped t shirt and knickers.

Never lived that one down.
