Good night everyone

LackaDAISYcal · 21/09/2008 21:13

night fairy.....you can tell us all about it tomorrow.

Now that I feel ever so slightly sick from chocolate over-consumption, I think I need to go to bed too!

don't all bugger off now I'm here.

Glad you are ok norty, i had early bleeding with all mine and it's fecking scary. I haven't had any injections though, just too much poking about for comfort. take it easy. good luck to your DH for tomorrow (and tell him golf makes you ill!) Who are sity playing? DS1 might be interested.

Bumper, try bicarb on your fridge, or scrub it with bleach and leave the door open, then bicarb it to get rid of the smell. We did that with the one we got given for the garage because it was a "dead mans fridge" and it was grim. Good luck to your DH too, FB me if you need a moan, I know exactly what you mean about PT jobs - DH can;t get taken seriously for one. The JC are usually fairly helpful to people who actually want to work.

Limewire is ? I suppose it's a website and it's like shareware/freeware where you can download any music you like for free (my BIL gave us it, he says it's perfectly legal and I will continue using it until I find out otherwise and then will stop!) here

hi fairy. have I forgotten anything/anyone?

how chuffed was DS with his trophy daisy?

Sputnik · 21/09/2008 21:34

Glad everything was ok Norty, take it easy as you can though.

Thanks for the offer Bumper but we'll be recycling DD's pjs I think, and have a lovely winter sleeping bag with a rocket on

Luckily I got a lot of unisex stuff for DD.

justbeme · 21/09/2008 21:44

Evening!
Hope the injection isnt too bad tomorrow Norty - try and realx and visualise something nice!!

Glad you had a good hol Fairy. You had some fab weather too.

I car booted today too Ria - got a baby Einstein DVD for £1, some ELC stacking blocks for 50p in their box and a ELC like new wooden jigsaw for 50p.

IamRiallyindisguise · 21/09/2008 22:02

ooh, are you after my crown JBM?

I think DH is taking all our crap highly saleable stuff next weekend. weather permitting the best local one is on til the end of Oct. Then I can sort out the unsold baby stuff for friends/Real Aid. (it will probably finish me off) Will be nice to be able to walk round our bed/get into the garage though. If we make any cash above the pitch fee I will be happy (especially if it's enough for a takeaway!)

what is baby einstein? I have noticed it mentioned on here before. I got one of those huge activity cubes for £1. I think I am going to clean it up and keep it for xmas (instead of spending loads on presentsit can go in his bank account).

Just watched HFW and now have 2 hrs of Gordon. Why is there nothing on TV? (I fell asleep watchign midsomer murders last night so DH won't put it on tonight!)

Sputnik · 21/09/2008 22:13

I wish we had car boot sales here. Italians are funny about 2nd hand stuff. Recently some second hand clothes stalls have appeared at the market, but it's usually just me and the Romanians going through it.

IamRiallyindisguise · 21/09/2008 22:15

that meams less competition for the good stuff sputnik!!!

DH starts his 6 week (yeah right) temp contract tomrrow. "shutters up Bren"! I hope he likes it. 7am-3pm Mon-Fri. Will be odd. Takes the pressure off to find something else though. hopefully he will get his results before he finishes it too, so he will know what's next. I will nearly have a daytime routine.

Ekka · 21/09/2008 22:20

Wow, you guys do chat sooooo much! I've just spent ages catching up - last time I looked at this thread we were on page 4!!!! Sorry to hear about loads of dp's job issues, really hope that things sort themselves out as it sounds really stressful.

We're on a mission to get dd some fleece sleepsuits as she's been waking up for 3+ hours every night for the last couple of weeks and we think she's cold (she won't sleep under either a blanket or duvet). I managed to find one that fits her, so we're trying that tonight and hoping that she sleeps through.

Did anyone see that article about the link between paracetamol and asthma? Dh is now completely paranoid as he tends to give dd calpol when she wakes, assuming its teething (makes me really that he sees this as the only solution that will work, or assumes that the only reason she could possibly wake is teething ) and now he's worried she will get asthma like him. She does wheeze a lot when running around so I think I'll be taking her to the docs to get it checked out....

MUST go to bed and sleep as I'm totally shattered. Please keep your fingers crossed for us that dd has a good night

IamRiallyindisguise · 21/09/2008 22:24

fingers crossed for everything ekka. good to have you back btw. the beauty of this thread is it's never boring

LackaDAISYcal · 21/09/2008 22:25

ekka, DD went through a phase like this too recently, but it seems to have settled again. I'm pretty sure she was just cold as the babygros seem to have sorted the issue.

IamRiallyindisguise · 21/09/2008 22:32

bugger. it seems me and DH do not have the techinical know how to help DS with his homework. If only it was still ok to use cassette decks

Sputnik · 21/09/2008 22:52

I read that too Ekka. Came to the conclusion that what's done is done really. Thankfully mine seems to have gone past the stage where he wakes for teething so it's no longer such an issue, but I will be thinking twice now before giving him paracetamol simply for pain rather than fever.

HellHathNoFury · 22/09/2008 10:29

Bumper - Limewire itself IS legal. Downloading the music etc however, is not. Copyright and all that.

Use it by all means but at your own risk, tbh the odd Joe downloading a couple of songs here or there is unlikely to attract any attention from your ISP but it's worth being aware that ISP's are cracking down on illegal downloads, because music companies are threatening to sue them. But then they have also been saying that for about 7 years.

I read that paracetamol stuff too. Interesting.

HellHathNoFury · 22/09/2008 10:35

sorry - was it Bumper who asked about Limewire or someone else? I am still waking up

HellHathNoFury · 22/09/2008 10:40

Actually, I shall correct myself.
SOME music is legal to download, some is not. ie, if you have a band who plays gigs at the local pub, chances are you can legally download everything of theirs.

A friend of mine had all of his PC's and IT equipment seized by the police a couple of years ago as he had downloaded a large amount of songs and movies from places like Kazaa, Napster and Limewire.
Another friend of mine was fired for downloading music at work as it made the company responsible for his 'illegal activities'.

But it's a bit of a grey area I think as to whether it is the upload or the downlod of copyright material that is illegal. I am not sure.

HellHathNoFury · 22/09/2008 12:19

I am a bore

IamRiallyindisguise · 22/09/2008 12:41

It was me fury. I thought it was too good to be true. BIL discovered Limewire in Kuwait, where they seem to not bother about copyright too much. Can't do what we wanted with the homework anyway, so it was a wasted illegal activity.

DHs job lasted all of 2 hours thanks to the agency not being very good at communication. DH needs next Monday off for a long standing appointment and a day off when he gets his hospital appointment and the agency hadn't tols the catering manager that who refuse to let DH have the time off and so ended the contract. Also too good to be true.

I am off to remove limewire freom the computer...

HellHathNoFury · 22/09/2008 13:21

Ria sorry to hear about all that job malarchy

You don't need to remove limewire, and you can use it... to be honest downloading the off pop song here or there is extremely unlikely to have anyone raise an eyebrow!

It's only VERY heavy users that get in trouble in my experience.

I just didn't want anyone to think that it was all legal etc etc because using it does carry a risk, albeit very small.

HellHathNoFury · 22/09/2008 14:03

off?! I mean ODD!

HellHathNoFury · 22/09/2008 15:17

oh dear, something just happened in my office, I think an epileptic fit or seizure, all the ambulance men are here

IamRiallyindisguise · 22/09/2008 15:39

sounds nasty fury. is it a big office?

I have been in bed all afternoon with the most awful tummy pains. Am glad DH here.

TBH Limewire appealed to my guilt complex anyway, I think we very much run the risk of getting into trouble for really bad taste in music rather than heavy use.

where is everyone today?

Ohforfoxsake · 22/09/2008 16:04

worms, nits and rats.

Foxes attract pests, don't they?

Ohforfoxsake · 22/09/2008 16:32

Whats happening Fury? Is your colleague OK?

How is everyone today?

Tea time.
