oh dear Daisy, I'm sorry but I laughed out loud .

Hi Sputnik!

Ria, absolute bloody bargain £6!

DKMA · 20/09/2008 22:08

lol Ria!
You know you said you couldn't believe I could dance in those shoes I got to wear with my dress ............ well I don't think I could walk in those shoes you linked! I think I'd trip over myself! lol!

DKMA · 20/09/2008 22:09

Daisy - I think it would have been a case of 'ooops mummy just yelled a naughty word' in our house if that had happened!

IamRiallyindisguise · 20/09/2008 22:09

lol DKMA, I have pretty masculine taste in shoes.

DKMA · 20/09/2008 22:14

I'm sure your feet are in much better shape than my battered ones!!

Sputnik · 20/09/2008 22:15

Ah but chunky is back in, don'tcha know

DMs remind me of my first boyfriend.

IamRiallyindisguise · 20/09/2008 22:19

Ive never had a boyfriend with that much style. I might buy some for DH too - he's nearly old enough for a mid-life crisis

omg - have I done something almost fashionable? don't tell anyone

IamRiallyindisguise · 20/09/2008 22:22

DH was helping the hotel with a wedding today. He has obviously got roped in to working on the bar. (yippee - more shoe money) wish he would get home soon.

for the third night baggins went to sleep in his cot with hand-stroking. (it's like a whole new world). DS2 had his first ever night without pullups last night and was dry. Am hoping for a repeat tonight.

LittleMissNorty · 20/09/2008 22:36

fingers crossed for you Ria

My dog is laying here, head hanging out of his basket, snoring his head off .....hard life eh?

Right, off to bed for me . night all x

Bumperlicious · 21/09/2008 09:39

Morning guys,

Ria, glad you are getting some shoe therapy.

DKMA hope things get better at work. So DS is moving up a group? Wow, they are growing up so fast aren't they?!

Going to be a quiet day here, clearing out our garage trying to find things to sell to pay our rent!

IamRiallyindisguise · 21/09/2008 10:00

morning all. another dry night though had an hour hand-stroking at 3am.

music homework today. have talked DS1 out of making the video he wanted to, we are going to do a presentation about how he doesn't "listen" to music, but it's everywhere so he likes iy anyway. IYSWIM. He is a music teachers dream (without any talent) but he has such eclectic tastes.
Baggins likes Alison Krauss BTW, Sister Rosetta, but he's been dancing to Rolf Harris & Noah & the Whale this mornig, while we were "researching"

LackaDAISYcal · 21/09/2008 11:07

morning all.....

sshhhhhh listen?....

....can't hear anything?

that's because my whole family are out and it's just me and the cat snuggled on the sofa

I got out of bed 20 minutes ago as well

DKMA, I totally missed your post last night about work and stuff. Sounds stressful and I hope it gets sorted soon; that's the rep thing and the senior manager!

WooHoo for DS; sounds like he's doing really well. ikwym about the clothes; it's almost as if they grow four inches overnight sometimes. Is that him now in 18-24mo? DD has just started wearing 12-18 months with a huge turn up, bless her (although her summer trousers and shorts were all 12-18, but were 3/4 length most of them and fitted to her ankles or were like crops).

I've just bought one of these. Had to give up on the sofa last night as my back was so sore . I'm hoping that this will help (had one at work once) and will help with optimum baby positioning as well.

quiet here too, LO in bed after being up most of the night, only way she'd calm is in bed bf. I was too tired to care.

Also helped by reading 'What Mothers Do' before I went to sleep which said 'we are in such a rush to get through babyhood' or words to that effect. hmmm, true. This is such a short phase. Perhaps I'll hand on to my baby a bit longer after all

How are things Bumper? Are you and DH getting your head around things?

Liking the homework Ria, looking forward to when we get to do interesting stuff!

Ohforfoxsake · 21/09/2008 12:10

hang on, obviously

Sputnik · 21/09/2008 15:57

Well we have been shopping for kid's shoes and clothes, along with what appeared to be the whole of Rome today.
I was in H&M and was actually gutted by the fact that the baby stuff is all too small now for Baby Sputnik, as they had some lovely things. He is already in the boys range and thus condemned to brown/navy/grey with pictures of cars on. It's downhill from here for him fashion-wise, I feel sorry for males of the species.

At least we have sorted a washing machine, with any luck it'll arrive friday.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/09/2008 16:24

yay for the new washing machine Sputnik.

Do they not do plain but colourful in Italy then? I must admit I'm not keen on motifs generally, especially fluffy animals and fairies. Flowers and vehicles are OK depending on whether there is any wording on them, but I prefer plain stuff or stripes/spots etc. Definately no slogans.

IamRiallyindisguise · 21/09/2008 16:29

so DS1 has buggered off out to play with his friend and I am still sitting here trawling limewire. Thing is, his music teacher taught me, so I'll have to not interfere too much[blus], though maybe my music GCSE will finally be useful?

We did have a break, DH came home unexpectedly (he went to do Sunday lunch at the same place he was at yesterday, only to find the person he was covering for tunred up) we went to the car boot sale and Morrisons (and the boys had Mc DOnalds) I got a brilliant desk extender/space saver thing for Ds1s desk for £3.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/09/2008 16:33

Ria, you are truly Queen of Bargains

The music project sounds really interesting.

My family are on their way home and when they do we will be having a fishing award ceremony (we picked up a little fishing trophy in a charity shop the other day). DS caught his first biggish carp today and is beside himself with excitement

IamRiallyindisguise · 21/09/2008 16:37

bless him daisy.

stunning, just found McArthur Park on limewire. sadly baggins doesn't like it

IamRiallyindisguise · 21/09/2008 16:42

I have a new secondary school website for you to play with [http://www.geocities.com/peter_bone_uk/pivot.html stickmen]] I don't know how to work it, but DS1 uses it at school.

IamRiallyindisguise · 21/09/2008 16:43

here

Sputnik · 21/09/2008 17:16

They may do plain but colourful somewhere, but I have very little time for shopping around in RL. Italian children's clothes are very expensive usually, Benetton is sometimes nice but £££ so I steer clear til the sales, also all the boys clothes seem to have slogans (totally inane ones in english), which I'm not keen on. I think I'm still trying to get my head round the boys stuff really.

I was just pissed off because there were some nice shirts with Snoopy on and we are Snoopy fans, what's wrong with Snoopy for the over-twos [waves placard].

DD asked for a nice shirt with a picture on it, she likes a bit of decoration.

Sputnik · 21/09/2008 17:22

I did get him quite a nice blue and navy striped hoody. But I was looking for some plain cotton warm trackie type bottoms to go over washables. Could I find any? Nope.

Bumperlicious · 21/09/2008 17:36

Hello,

Daisy, glad you've had a quiet day, hope you have made the most of it.

Sputnik, great about your washing machine. I know what you mean about the clothes. I don't want DD wearing mini adult clothes. DH and I love nothing better than seeing her run around in an all-in-one sleep suit. There was naff all at the NCT sale in her size either, but I got loads of cute stuff for Lcy's baby, 3-6 months but she's not sure she's going to fit in it for much longer! She's something like 11lbs at 3 weeks old!

What limewire ria? Glad you got a bargain at the car boot sale.

We must do a car boot. We went down to the garage today to start sorting stuff out to sell. We had a fridge from our last flat down there that we wanted abut 50 quid for, but various friends have been storing there bikes down there and someone accidentally closed the door and now it is minging, not really retrievable What a frigging waste!

DH is going to the see the union guy again on Wednesday to set the ball rolling, but in the meantime DH has to go to the jobcentre tomorrow. Part-time jobs with enough pay and enough hours are really hard to come by. Sorry, I'll stop whinging about this now.
