Just for everyone's information;
I did worry about the mmr so Oliver didn't have it until he was 4 and is now due the second jab. I am fully supportive of inmmunisations (which my pharmacist bil could not grasp despite me not want Ollie to have it so young) I wanted to be sure that I knew my childs personality so should any changes take place I would definately know rather than wonder if would have always been like that iyswim. I also know a friend who's son is severley autistic (will always live at home such as his severity) and she knows she saw a change after he had the jab.

J20 is so right it is personal choice and I totally respect anyone elses's different opinion. Henry won't be having it till he's older also.

Very tired, the Henster had us up at 5.30 this morning wanting to play which is really unlike him. Funnily enough he's still asleep now just going to have a shower and wake him up.

Have Ollie's Drs app, then I'll drop him off at school and get home ready for the skip to be delivered. Can't wait as we're sorting out the garages this weekend. Well, I say sorting when I actually mean throwing everything away that cannot be given away or sold. Dh wants to turn one of the garages into a small home office with shower room and a separate room for gym/spare room as we are in desperate need of a study as the spare room will become no 3's bedroom. I think it's a fab idea as then the big beast of a his work computer that we're all in feal off breaking won;t be in the house anymore (really it is a hug computer needed for him to run huge things from work on, the pressure not to break it is amazing!)

Hope you got a better nights sleep Floria!

Anyone got any ideas for names as dh and I used our best 2 for Ollie + Hen and now can't think of any names boy or girl!!!

LLL -hat would you name be should have no 3?

love to all
xxx

muppetgirl · 07/11/2008 08:22

...loving those spelling mistakes!!!

Spell check more woman!!!!!!

J2O · 07/11/2008 09:19

morning all, i feel terrible today, so drained and tired, i slept all the way through so i can't understand why, have got headache and feel shaky and a cough, so maybe its due to that, feel awful because i made dd1 walk to school on her own and ring me when she got to the gates, it is only about a 2/3 minute walk, but doesn't stop me feeling guilty!

LES-thank you

oooh names Muppet, i reckon it'll be a girl-but boys names...what kind do you like? Ryan, Daniel, Lewis, Dylan, Kyle, Matthew, I always liked Damon but everyone else hated it.

Stefka · 07/11/2008 09:19

It's stories like that that make me feel so worried about letting Dareh have it. The HV was on about a breakout of measles being predicted though which also made me scared. It feels like a no win situation. I am scared to have it and scared to not have it.

FloriaTosca · 07/11/2008 12:12

I can't count how many pages of research I have read about MMR, I've talked to my gp and mw also and finally came to the conclusion that the combined mmr is probably the most researched vaccine ever (thanks to the flawed research of one, now struck off, doctor) and is certainly more safe than giving single vaccines (at private rate of £100 each!)which haven't been researched at all... and having see the consequences of all three viruses I decided to go ahead and do it... Alex was fine with the jab on Tues, had a rubbish night Weds, started sneezing yesterday, so I think the pneumococcal vaccine that they give at the same time might be to blame but despite a very snuffly nose he had the best nights sleep for a very long time, only woke for a feed at 3.30 and then wanted up at 6.15 (of course I was up at 1.00 and 5.00 checking on him)
....got to go...potty emergency...

Stefka · 07/11/2008 16:07

Sorry you are feeling so rubbish J20 - hope you have a restful weekend planned.

Well the interview went well so that's good. The only uh oh moment was when I met one of the other candidates who told me she had eight years of experience. I only have one. They said that all the applicants were really strong and they wouldn't be telling us until Tuesday.

muppetgirl · 07/11/2008 16:17

Well done stefka - think that yes she has 8 years experience but that means she will be expensive! You are equally good as her just a few less years under your belt x

Am keeping everything crossed for you xxx

Have finished my assignment!!!!!!! WOOOOOOHHHHOOOOOO would now get drunk if I could

Are starting the next one tomorrow as I don;t know when the symptoms -if they do- will kick in. I' really tired in the mornings but feel absolutely fine apart from that

LisaLessLumpy · 07/11/2008 16:32

Stefka - my fingers and toes and knees etc are crossed for you. Good Luck, I hope you get it, you are well overdue some good news

Muppet - If we had another boy it would be Max (Maximilian)

If we were to have a girl it would be Charlotte (Charlie) Eleanor

muppetgirl · 07/11/2008 16:35

Am liking max and daniel...

I like Eliza, Bess (apparently over dh's dead body ) George

Charlotte's lovely but my Godaughter is 'lottie' from Charlotte.

Like Lily but it in no way goes with our surname. (and would make her sound like she's an old time music hall artist as would Rosie)

sneaks off for another peek

Stefka · 08/11/2008 11:43

Thanks for the good thoughts everyone. I can't stop thinking about it. I can't believe that I have to wait until next week. At least I know I did my very best on the day. I just hope it is enough. Competition is so fierce right now in teaching jobs. I just keep thinking that I need this job so badly for all our sakes. DH was booked to work last night, today, tonight and Sunday. He saw sense and cancelled the job today. We can't afford for him to do that but he would have had an accident or something. He's in bed right now.

Have had a fun morning in the charity shops. Picked up some toys for Dareh for 50p!

Off to make soup - am official domestic goddess!

Stefka · 08/11/2008 11:52

I can't find the brother!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 08/11/2008 18:29

Well we did the Battle of the Brains audition on Thursday. It's not at all glamourous - we had to do a small piece to camera, just to make sure we didn't freeze, and then we had to do 40 general knowledge questions but no conferring (writing answers on paper). They were ridiculously hard and the questions were read out from a CD so you only had a limited time on each one and you couldn't go back. Even the people we'd drafted in who regularly do pub quizzes etc thought so - one reckoned he'd only been sure of 8 out of 40! (Better than me then!) We also had to pick 2 specialist subjects each and do written questions on those. The ones who did the audition last time reckon this was much harder, so we shall see. Recording dates if we get picked are the week before Christmas with broadcast dates in Feb.

Anya is better - she's only been a little bit sick once since Thursday night. She's done the world's worst poos though - explosive ones that go everywhere. Not surprising as she's hardly had any solid food for 3 days.

FT - sorry Alex's sleep is getting worse - don't know how you cope.

Muppet - glad you're feeling ok. Hope Ollie gets better soon. Well done on finishing your assignment.

LES - personally I think the media has a lot to answer for regarding the MMR and autism (and aspergers by extension?) - that 'now discredited' research was a non-scientific study of 12 kids and it never actually claimed there was a link anyway. There has been so much research since on the MMR jab and nobody's been able to find a link between it and any condition - meanwhile the rates of measles are on the increase because parents aren't getting kids vaccinated. Autism starts to show at exactly the age that MMR is given - that doesn't mean the two are linked in any way. Not trying to tell you what to do but I am absolutely definitely getting Anya jabbed.

Stefka - glad the interview went well, fingers crossed for you.

J2O · 08/11/2008 18:37

just posting so your at the top

got a bad hangover, so will be on tommorrow to read properly, chinese and early night tonight

Stefka · 08/11/2008 20:11

I think the media are vile in general - the way the deal with issues is never honest - they always sensationalise things.

Sounds scary WWAJC!! You are braver than I that is for sure. Glad Anya is better

alicet · 09/11/2008 20:29

Just a quickie - got to go and check out inzi's hot brother!

Seriously absolutely broken after our weekend away. Dh and I were up till 1.30am last night (or this morning rather) drinking with friends and I am full of cold. 5 hour journey back wasn't top of my list of what I'd like to do today either... Oh well - all my own fault and had a lovely lovely evening and at least got a bit of a lie in this am in the hotel before heading back to get boys...

Mumpbump you probably won't see this but lovely to hear from you!

Stefka everything crossed for job xxx

About MMR - Sam had it as will Adam as soon as I can get an appointment. And WWAJC has summed up precisely my feelings - its never been proved. The association is there because it tends to present itself at the same time. I can honestly say that if Adam was found to be autistic (fingers so so crossed not) I don't think I would blam the MMR. As an aside all docs I know have had their kids vaccinated which just made e even more sure.

Hello to everyone else and see you all soon xxx

Stefka · 09/11/2008 20:55

I had an extra glass of wine last night and boy am I paying for it today! I feel terrible! I remember when I could drink myself blind, get up the next day and eat pizza and drink lemonade and feel right as rain again.

alicet · 09/11/2008 20:56

Yes you and me both Stefka!!! Times have changed haven't they? The only reason I drank and stayed up as I did was because I knew I was staying in a hotel and woudn't have to deal with my boys. No way would I have managed if I had had to look after them...

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/11/2008 21:10

{feeling sorry for those who feel awful after drinking last night]

hee hee I have never had a hangover hahahahaha xxxxx
