Stefka, they saw the funny side of it, I was apologising so much and almost in tears, I must sort out drs appt, my emotions all over the place still.

LLL,
I can't believe amount of teeth Ben has, Zachary only has bottom 2 teeth and they have been coming through foreverrrrrrrrrrr lol. So he actually has 2 halves of 2 teeth lol. He is learning new words everyday and the other day I almost killed dp. He flicked the tv over and realised he had missed the start of footy exclaimed "Oh Shit" and Zachary then kept saying it for the next day!!! I ignored it didn't answer but told dp in no uncertain terms to be careful of what he says.

FloriaTosca · 28/10/2008 11:37

Stefka; fab news about your fil, and good news about the job, I hope this is the start of the long awaited change in your fortunes (cant have you on nasty honey much longer)As for tooth brushing, Alex hates it too, I now sit on the loo seat with Alex on my knee to brush his teeth...I do mine at the same time, in fact I have had to stop using my sonic brush so he gets the right idea..he usually lets me do his if I let him do mine then I encourage him to do his own. He has been getting up an hour earlier since the clocks went back too...I'm trying to make him wait 10 mins longer each morning (he usually plays happily enough with his teddies)so hopefully we will be back to a 6.30 wake up by next week.

Tles; Lol at Z fetching the police to your door at this age..thats one you can hold over his head when he's a teenager!!

J2O · 28/10/2008 11:38

lol LES at 'oh shit'! dd1 rung the police a few times when she was little, they're usually ok about it.

i give Shannon her toothbrush in the bath, but also sometimes in her high chair, to be honest, i have let her play with one from being little, just so she gets used to it, and if you think what they usually put in their mouths after touching all sorts, i wouldn't worry too much about the bathroom floor

Theladyevenstar · 28/10/2008 11:58

Anyone want a puppy???? he is 9 weeks old and in need of a home urgently as the older dog keeps attacking him.

FloriaTosca · 28/10/2008 13:39

Tles; oh poor puppy! That is seriously strange behaviour to one so young from the older dog.If you haven't found a home by Sunday I'll ask around at my dog training club (though it is a long way to come)but your quickest and best solution is your local rescue (battersea?)or if he is a pedigree his own breed rescue society, they can always find homes for puppies...What breed/type is he?

Theladyevenstar · 28/10/2008 13:45

FT,
He is a 9 week old Alsation X rotty. The older dog was fine with him until he came near the children and she went for him...

Have spoken to my landlord and he has said i can look after him but have only until 9th November to rehome him.

So anyone who is willing to have him please let me know. She paid £175 for him and wants £50 as she just wants a good family to have and love him.

FloriaTosca · 28/10/2008 14:17

That is one hell of a x, they are not normally bred for pets ...it takes a very firm and experienced owner to manage either of those breeds and he will be huge. Sounds like the older bitch was protecting the children.I'll ask around the competetive working trials people I know.

muppetgirl · 28/10/2008 21:12

Les- I definitely don't want any more dogs!!! My jack Russell is now living in the kitchen and utility room but has worked out how to escape the baby gate and I have found him twice in the dinning room and I swear he had a grin on his face. The second time he got out I found that he had been in our bedroom and weed on our bed meaning I had to wash not only the duvet cover but the duvet itself. We actually bought a duck filled one you could machine wash after he had ruined our last one that was impossible to wash.

Dh is helping more by taking them out first thing in the morning and I only have one walk to do then. Stan still pooed on the kitchen floor despite me popping upstairs and him having been out to a local park-in-large-house-with-grounds. He has also weed in his bed and sat in it.

Arrrrgggggggg

On the plus side Dexter the old black lab seems much better and isn't being aggressive at all to dogs any more. Hurrah!

alicet · 28/10/2008 22:15

Hello all - just a quickie!

Dal we have that trike - Sam had it when he was 1 and it's great. Going to get Adam out on it soon...

About teeth - both boys get their toothbrush in the bath. They get to do it first then I do after. the same for them both. J2O that's a great idea to let her do yours too - I bet Adam would relaly go for that. He finds it very amusing to feed me bits of his food!

Sorry can't remember anything else but hope you're all well... 2nd viewing for us hasn't panned out yet as the couple concerned are off on a 3 week holiday so can't view until they get back!!! Grr! On the plus side if they can afford a 3 week holiday here's hoping they can get a mortgage ! Actually here's hoping we get another offer before then...

Dalrymps · 28/10/2008 22:35

Just quickly - Stefka - I just put the toilet seat down and sit on there with Dylan on my knee to brush his teeth.

Theladyevenstar · 28/10/2008 23:20

Well puppy has been rehomed phewwwwwwwwwwwww was so worried and he is not even mine!!!!!!!!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 29/10/2008 19:11

Anya took her first step today and I missed it . Though it was only one and it was accidental so maybe it doesn't count . She was standing in the kitchen eating a grape and just took one step forward. She doesn't even know she can stand on her own yet - she's done it a few times now where she's let go of whatever she's leaning against, but only when she's really engrossed in whatever she's holding and as soon as she realises she drops down onto all fours. Won't be long though before she's walking properly I think.

We're having terrible trouble with our heating/hot water. Happens every year - we either get one or the other but not both, no matter what dh does. Luckily we've got an electric fire in the living room and an immersion heater so we can cope (not thinking about elec bills!) We had a heating engineer round today who dh knows and he reckons we need the system 'power flushing' - about £300-£500 , which he doesn't do so we'll have to find somebody who does. DH is very irritated by it all.

Dal - glad you're feeling better. Fingers crossed for you in next few days . Glad you enjoyed your brother's & sil's visit

Stefka - well done on the interview - fingers crossed for you too. Good news about dh's dad. I've only just started brushing Anya's teeth and so far she just looks a bit confused and lets me do it.

Alice - running out of fingers to cross but here's hoping you get an offer soon.

LES - lol at Zach phoning the police! Glad the puppy got rehomed.

Stefka · 29/10/2008 21:38

I would say that doesn't count as a first step. I think it has to be a deliberate step that they decide to take for it to be the proper first one so I don't think you missed it. Doesn't sound like she is too far from it though!

Just been speaking to DH just now. He has been telling me about the dreadful conditions in the hospital there and how corrupt it is. Basically they want money from you or they don't treat people, it's vile. They just left his dad on a bed, out cold, strapped down. He is covered in scratches from when he was moving around as he had drips and needles in him and no one was watching him. He was moving when he was unconscious and scratching himself to bits. He woke up covered in shit and there was no one around. He shouldn't be leaving hospital yet but the staff reckon there is no money in him so they are letting him go. It sounds like he might be better off out of there anyway. There will be a bill to pay and guess who is expected to pay it. Yep - DH. They seem to think he has loads of money just because he lives over here. I wouldn't mind if we weren't in such a bad situation ourselves.

Sorry that was a bit of a rant!!

I had better luck with Dareh's teeth by letting him brush mine. He's a bit violent with the brush though!

J2O · 29/10/2008 21:48

WAJC-definately doesn't count, only counts when you see it i keep catching Shannon do it when she thinks i'm not loking, but as soon as i try to get her to walk to me, she flops down and crawls.

Stefka-that is so shit, where is he? not sure if you've mentioned before?

Stefka · 30/10/2008 09:18

Macedonia. It's a very poor country and really corrupt.

Theladyevenstar · 30/10/2008 09:46

Awwww its amazing how things have changed with our babies over the last year!!! this time last year we were all talking of our weeks old babies, now they are all 1, where has the time gone?

Zachary kept getting engrossed in wahtever he was doing and then standing alone until he realised, then about 2 1/2 weeks ago he was playing with his shopping trolley let go and walked the legnth of our flat which is 110ft......talk about go the whole hog!!!!

Although now quite often he prefers to crawl after us as he is not quick enough lol.

At the moment he is wrecking my living room grrrrrrr toys all over the place!!!

J20 I hope you can make it Saturday just be warned we only have 4 armchairs as our 3 piece has still not been delivered yet and we ordered it in August!!!!!

Anyways I am off to de-wreck the living room and sort out spooky recipes for cooking on saturday

muppetgirl · 30/10/2008 10:29

Stefka- I am so sorry about your fil and also really for your poor dh xxxx That seems to simplify and trivialise your situation which I really don't mean to do, I just wish we could actively help you xxxxxxxxx

Tles - well done Zach!!

Alice - congrats on the passing of your course and how fab you're going to be an instructor!

Tired here wnet to the conema with the girlies (who don;t have children) dh got home early as they said they were picking me up just after 6 but that turned into 6.30 ish which meant we missed the early showings and saw a film that started at 9.30pm. Didn't get home till 11.45 and are knackered now.

I cut Henry's hair on Sat as it was looking really girlie and I don;t like long hair on my boys. He was quite good whilst I did it and he looks a real bruiser boy now, I'll take a photo and put it on facebook -I still don;t know how to reduce the resolution to put photos on mnet

Got the painter here to do the kitchen which is brilliant but the dogs are now upstairs with me and barking at every opportunity. Was going to take Stan out for a run while I cycle but dh has stuffed the garage full so I can't even get to my bike....

I am in such a foul mood

see you all later
love to all
x

FloriaTosca · 30/10/2008 17:33

Hi All just a quickie ...Dh has taken Alex off to my Mums while he decorates there, I'm teaching in a short while but have a few minutes to myself for once...should feel fabulous but I'm not sure I do [quizzical emoticon]

Dal; love that trike, it is the one I wanted for Alex but pils bought one that he has no pedals because their other 2 grandkids "didnt get the hang of pushing pedals that young" (I seem to remember they didnt get the hang of walking or even talking so young either )Glad you are getting about and fighting the pnd.

WWAJC; definately, proper 1st steps can only be seen by parents

Tles; Glad the puppy has a home, I hope they do lots of obedience training and like long walks

Muppet; Sorry to read that Stans new schedule isnt working 100%. Have you tried that pheromone plug in treatment that is supposed to relax dogs and help them stay calm? (anything is worth a try) but glad Dexter has improved.

Alice; any news on the house yet? How is choc doing? we haven't heard from her in an age.

J20; Hope Shannon is better now and hope you and Tles have a fab weekend.

Off to tidy up while the going is good..we are having the family children over tomorrow night for "dead mens fingers served with blood, pus and congealed worms" (hot dogs with ketchup, mustard and fried onions to you and I )sil is bringing a plastic coffin for apple bobbing and some cobwebs and spiders to set the tomb tone. Alex has a little red devil outfit complete with flashing forked tail and trident..perhaps a bit too apt for my liking
Happy halloween tomorrow everyone.

Stefka · 30/10/2008 19:16

Honestly muppet you girls to loads to actually help. It's great having your support and I am sorry I have been so doom and gloom lately!! Thank you for giving me a place to share.

Was that Henry's first hair cut? I have to admit I quite like long hair on boys but Dareh hardly has any hair at all.

LES - Dareh is always destroying my living room and any room in fact! He loves to pull things out of cupboards and off shelves.

Floria you really know everything about dogs don't you!! Your party sounds fun. That has reminded me to get some sweets in case of guisers.

Apricotle · 30/10/2008 21:22

damn, damn and damn again, just lost a message to you all - don't you just HATE that???

Have neither time nor energy to rewrite.

Damn.

Our week in a nutshell: Huw's had a cold, I've hardly slept as a result. Also, he's walking everywhere now.

Stefka at the hospital. that's just awful.

Big hugs to everyone else. I'm too tired for this. Miss you all when it's like this and I just can't muster the energy.

FT love the image of Alex in his devil outfit.
