J20 - I would keep a notbook handy to note down anything you think is odd re the stalker, even if it is just what your neighbours have said. Keep the notebook just for this and not anything else. This can then be used, should anything more serious happen, as evidence of your stalker over a period of time. I had a an ex who wouldn't let go (he was a policeman irony of ironies -he's, needless to say, not a policeman now!) and was told by the police to do this. My ex talked me through how he would kill me and not be detected so they took my phone (to note the frequency of his tect messages though they can't actually hack into the content -I noted down exactly what he said, this was taken seriously due to his background in the police -he was agressive and being kicked out for corruption) but also said they could fit a panic button should I feel the need.

He was the friend of my ex who I lived on the boat with and was never agressive towards me until I called things to a halt. He then bombarded me with texts and calls and then talked me through how he'd kill me using one of my knives that already had his fingerprints on....

We all have skeltons in the closet!!!!

muppetgirl · 25/10/2008 18:29

have a look here for advice on the law and what to do about a stalker

here

don't think it's your fault, don't let him get away with it.

Theladyevenstar · 25/10/2008 22:13

HIya all

been away from here again, funeral is done now and things are slightly better.

Am shattered as I have had 3 sleep;ess nights with Zachary, wednesday, thursday and friday.

Wednesday just grumpy,
Thursday after funeral, and 2 wakes (will axplain another time) we popped to my sisters for a drink, Zachary started burning up so we gave him baby nurofen which after 30 seconds made him vomit all over me the sofa and the floor

needless to say he didn't sleep that night and friday his temp just kept going up gave him nurofen and calcold on drs advice along with tixylix which seemed to bring it right down. Now he is sound asleep in his buggy and I am considering going to bed lol.

Stefka · 26/10/2008 12:49

Muppet what an awful experience to go through. You must have been terrified. I am glad the police took it seriously - they often don't bother, especially when it is one of their own.

LES - glad that funeral is over with, I hope thing settle down for you now. Sorry that Zach was unwell - hope he's better now!

Stefka · 26/10/2008 20:05

Bad day for us. DH's dad is very ill and he has had to go catch an overnight bus to London so he can fly home tomorrow. Awful for him and awful for us as obviously he now can't work which means no money coming in and we have had to pay for his flights - another thing on the credit cards. We must have bad karma or something the way things are going for us right now.

J2O · 26/10/2008 21:08

stefka-sorry to hear that I hope his Dad is ok, hang on in there, things will get better eventually xx

Good idea about keeping aa log muppet, but tbh i have never actually seen him, its my neighbours what see him and i don't think they always tell me so i don't worry.

I'm off to bed now, i imagine Shannon will be up early as she can't tell the time and doesn't know the clocks have changed

FloriaTosca · 26/10/2008 21:10

just a quickie as having only got dh back at 12.30 am on Fri night/Sat morn he is off again at 4am tomorrow but just wanted to say
J20; glad the police are properly involved now and hope it scares the little creep off.
Muppet; at your ex!!!!
Tles;sorry Z has been ill..I've been in exactly the same situation with A this last week (just coming out of it now)so totally understand how exhausted you are feeling.
Stefka; your fortunes must change soon.(((hugs)))

alicet · 26/10/2008 21:43

Quickie from me too...

J2O hope your stalker gets his just deserts!

Muppet sorry to hear you had such an awful situation - he sounds like an absolute wanker and that's probably being polite...

LES glad funeral over but sorry Zac has been poorly

Stefka sorry to hear about dh's dad - hope he improves soon...

Floria sorry your dh is away again - thinking of you...

Well not much to report from me - been out and about today but nothing too exciting. On tenterhooks waiting to hear from estate agent with the feedback from the 3 viewings we had on Sat - keep your fingers crossed for us! At least 1 was really interested but ahrd to tell how much...

Theladyevenstar · 27/10/2008 06:38

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH i need sleep, Zachary been up coughing and crying since 5am, nothing will settle him although now he has stopped crying and is wrecking the living room!!!

But I so need some more sleep. Am hoping he will go back soon and I am off back to bed to forget the world for 1hr lol.

J2O · 27/10/2008 08:47

Sorry Muppet-i didn't even say thank you for finding that stalker imfo and telling me about your experience, i bet it was a really scary time for you, tossor! tbh, i'm relieved that i know its the neighbour rather than never knowing who it was...or it being someone from my past iyswim

LES-snap! i had dd1 screaming in the middle of the night because she couldn't breathe( her nose is blocked and she has a sore throat) so she woke Shannon up, who then wouldn't go back to sleep, so i just had to put her back in her cot and let her cry herself to sleep again. At least its half term.

FloriaTosca · 27/10/2008 10:04

Hi All. Are we forming the sleepless night club? Snap for me too, but I'm used to itI was just clearing out my computers desk top and came across this poem, cant remember wher I first saw it (probably here ) but thought I'd share it (again?)

Mother

Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth
empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
hang out the washing and butter the bread,
sew on a button and make up a bed.

Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I've grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue
(lullaby, rockabye, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).

The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
and out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
but I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue?
(lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).

The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
for children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

It reminded me that these sleepless nights I have been whinging about wont last forever, that rocking him in my arms to sleep is a priviledge he wont allow me only too soon and a few bags under my eyes is a small price to pay.
At the moment I'm sat watching him sleep...he's been up since 6.00 (after 11.30, 1.30 & 4.30 wake ups)and was due a nap anyway but he has been climbing on his seesaw like this one(standing in the middle of it going "look Mum no hands!")and after umpteen warnings and being put back on terra firma, the inevitable fall happened, so now I'm watching like a hawk to make sure the nap remains natural and isnt induced by concussion[rolling eyed emoticon]

muppetgirl · 27/10/2008 15:03

Love that Floria x

I am in the middle of essay writing and I am panicking a little. It's a 'strengths and weakness' essay which is difficult as no where in the study text does it state 'this theory is good because....' it's just a lot of comparisons which isn't exactly a strength or weakness!!!!!!!!
I am having to be very scientific in my approach now which is entirely different from my musical essays I've written in the past. Language was itself and art to express yourself whereas now it really is just functional and I have to back everything up with evidence rather than saying 'I think Shostakovich wrote some great symphonies....'

I have a tutorial on Sat so I will bend my tutors ear about it then.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 27/10/2008 16:54

Stefka - have you tried asking about credit cards on moneysavingexpert.com website? They've got really good forums where you may find some help. Hope dh's dad is better soon.

LLL - wow at Ben's double tooth!

Muppet - well done to dh with the birthday present.

Alice - congrats on doing so well on your course.

I'll try and remember as much as I can...

Stefka - Sorry you're still having a tough time of it. Hope fil is ok. I am crossing my fingers you or dh (when he's back) find work soon. If there's anything at all we can do to help just say.

OMG Dal!!!! Hope you are Great to hear you dealing with your depression so positively and proactively - sure facing up to it and doing the best you can to help yourself is half the battle. Glad you're feeling better.

Floria I've seen a similar poem before but it didn't stop me form getting a tear in my eye. You are so so right that all too soon we will be just wishing to hold them while they fight the sleep! It doesn't last long and although it can be very stressful while they don't sleep actually in a funny way I remember feeling a bit wistful when the night feeds stopped (esp with Sam when I still had a bit of energy! ) Something pretty special about holding them while they are all limp and sleepy in your arms while they focus totally on the milk and all is quiet outside. Kind of feels like you and them against the world... Of course this wistfulness is said by someone who is currently getting sleep so feel free to slap me if you wish!!!!

Off to cook tea - back later to catch up with the rest of you!

Stefka · 27/10/2008 19:45

Ah that poem made me tear up! I am such a softie these days.

Hey Dal - nice to hear from you. Glad that you are feeling better

Thanks for the tip WWJC - I hear that guy on the radio all the time actually, he's very good.

What are you studying muppet? Sounds interesting and intense! Good luck with the essay.

Any news yet Alice? Hope you hear something soon - I hate waiting for the phone to ring!!

Finally a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. DH called to say his Dad is awake. Things sound much more positive than they did yesterday. Also do you guys remember that school I applied to ages ago. I called them again on Friday and they finally got back to me. They are hoping to hold interviews next week so it looks like I have at least made it to the interview stage. Said they would be in touch - hope it is sooner than the last time!

alicet · 27/10/2008 20:13

Good luck Stefka! Hope your interview goes really well... Great news about dh's dad too. Hope he continues to recover...

We have had 6 viewings and another on Wed. Also one of the people who viewed at the weekend want to come again!!! Yippeee - keep everything crossed!

LisaLessLumpy · 27/10/2008 20:34

Great news Stefka - fingers crossed the interview goes well, you are due some well needed good luck. Also glad your FiL seem a little better.

alicet - hope you get an offer real soon.

Dal - glad you are getting yourself out and about, you sound a lot more positive. Also and hope you are

Well, not only has ben got one double tooth... he also has his top two doubles Just waiting for the last bottom one to come through and hopefully he will settle down a bit. Only noticed them today as he was having a big belly laugh whilst I was tickling him and I saw the others So he now has 6 at the top and 3 at the bottom

Stefka · 27/10/2008 21:23

Thanks - I will keep you posted!

Speaking of teeth how on earth do you guys clean your LO's teeth? Sods law would have it that the one thing Dareh does not want to instantly shove in his mouth is his little toothbrush and he screams when I try to do it.

I have just finished having some toast and honey. We are on value brands now and I have to say that tesco value honey is seriously nasty stuff!!

J2O · 27/10/2008 21:45

just a quickie as i'm off to bed.

alice-thats great, hope you get an offer really soon!

Dal-woohoo how exciting!

stefka-Shannon loves brushing her teeth, most of the time i give her it when shes in the bath and me and dd1 do it at same time and she copies, then i let her brush mine while i do hers, although she's still only got 2 so pretty easy atm. Good news about fil, hope he continues to improve and good luck with the job interview!

Mine-hows the resignation going?

Theladyevenstar · 27/10/2008 22:05

Hi all

Guess what happened about 2 hours ago, here we are all sitting in living room, Karl playing with his dr who figures, DP on laptop between doing dinner, me on my laptop downloading surfing the net and Zachary playing with the phone and his weebalot castle (got it today)

5 minutes later house phone rings and I am asked to open the door by the police seems Zachmeister had dialled 999 when he was playing with the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!!!

On a less funny note, dp went for a driving assessment to become a bus driver for a private company, he passed it and I was soooooooooo happy he then got a call which we thought was to arrange the second part of training/interview only for him to be told they had over assessed people and had too many candidates for the vacancies. So we are back to square one and I hate to admit this living off state handouts for a while. It makes me feel so crappy. No wonder i feel so depressed atm.

Dalrymps · 27/10/2008 22:35

Evening ladies,

Stefka - that good news about fil, hope the situation continues to improve. Good luck on the job front, I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you! Dylan is a bit fussy when we try to brush his teeth too, we're not pshing the issue though cause we don't want him to refuse all together. We just make a 'brushing sound' and pretend to brush our teeth with his brush and then try to brush his. He usually lets us in for a quick one and then we give him lots of praise and claps. He's getting better with it, we stop if he starts winging and squirming though.

Alicet - Thats quite a lot of viewings you've had, especially in the current climate, hopefully you'll sell soon .

LLL - Wow at all of Bens teeth, acn't believe he's got so many. I bet he looks really cute!

J20 -hope you sleep well

Les - Eek at Zach calling the police! .

Well, have been to the gym with dh tonight, enjoyed it. Pil's looked after Dylan. Dh is having a week of this week as it's Dylans birthday on thurs so we're spending lots of lovely time together.

I forgot to say earlier... My middle bro and his wife (also my bf) surprised me with a visit on saturday.

They wanted to come for Dylans birthday but were not going to be able to as their moving date for their new house is the day after. They had said they might come up the week after.

Anyway, dh had been planning behind my back and I was shocked beyond belief when I was unloading the tumble dryer on sat morning with my hair still wet from the shower and my bro and sil appeared in the kitchen! !

They live in cornwall! They had driven to the midlands on the fri night after work, stayed at their old house and then got up at 5am on the sat morn and drove to Berwick (in total a 9 and a half hour drive).

I was so pleased to see them and touched that they would go to so much effort to surprise me and see Dylan near his birthday. They bought him a lovely Trike - this one and a pair of addidas shell toes and various other presents from sils parents and nan .

Well, i'm off to make some lovely muffins with lemon curd yum! Chat soon x

Theladyevenstar · 27/10/2008 22:45

Just wondered, I wasn't around when secret birthday fairy was sorted out, so i missed the chance of joining in. Are we going to sort one out for Christmas?

LisaLessLumpy · 28/10/2008 06:53

We were going to do a secret santa for christmas but for us, not the kids

Stefka · 28/10/2008 08:46

OMG LES I can't believe that about the police!! What did they say to you? FWIW I don't think there is any shame in getting state handouts when you need them - that is what they are there for. I hope your DH can find a job he likes soon.

That is so lovely about the surprise visit Dal. It's so nice when people go the extra mile like that.

Where about do you brush Dylan's teeth? Just in the bathroom or when he is in the bath? Dareh just sticks the toothbrush all over the floor and then I don't want him to put it in his mouth!

The little monkey has had me up since five. He wants to feed at that time but he ends up dozing on my boob for ages then waking up for the day meaning I am up from five. Think I need to try and cut out that feed if I can.
