Happy Birthday Dareh and Eren!!

Sorry about your cold FT. And your boyfriend's car J20.

Fingers crossed on the old accidentally on purpose front! How exciting. I'm half up for it myself, but dh described the very idea in a recent discussion as a 'catastrophe' and the 'worst thing that could possibly happen', so it doesn't look like we'll be having another one any time soon .How he can think that when he's so utterly in love with Huw I don't know, but there we are. Men, the eternal mystery, eh?

Enjoy your first birthdays, birthday mummies.

A x

FloriaTosca · 21/10/2008 10:23

OOOPS!!! wrote in capitals so you get the word not the emoticons..sorry

WWAJC; glad the meeting went well (I do so love it when my optimism is proved right)

J20;It is dreadful when you get targeted like this .... it was probably the same little toerag as last time expecting Richie to have replaced the sat nav by now...I had my car smashed into 7 times in 6 months when I lived in Glasgow ( not to steal anything but because the little monsters knew I was watching them and reporting thier movements to the police) I ended up parking by a local petrol station where the security cameras would catch them in the act rather than outside my house. I hope this was the last time for you.

I hope Dareh and Eren have fabulous days.

OMG the postie just came with an entire bag full of stuff for my wee boy. He said he had never seen anything like it! And every single one of them was from someone here. Honestly I don't know what to say - I can't stop crying! This last year has been really hard in so many ways and I have really appreciated the support that I have had here. I just can't get over how kind you all are and generous.

Dareh is giddy with delight - he doesn't know what to do with himself!! He keeps jumping from one toy to the next. You've made his day really special and I can't thank you enough for that. I was feeling a bit low last night thinking I could never match what my SIL will give her DD for her birthday but my SIL doesn't have you guys so I reckon I am the lucky one. Also thank you to the wee cards and chocolate that people sent me too for my birthday! I have to say that getting that stuff for Dareh felt like a birthday present to me too. I am just so overwhelmed - I wish I could do something to give back to you all what you have given me today.

Sooooo in no particular order:

Eirian & Mairwen - thank you for the beautiful wooden jigsaw. Dareh loves putting things in holes and is already fascinated with it and thank you for the chocolate - can't wait to eat it up!
Margo (Floria) % Alex - I love the bear book - he's been poking the little nose on the front cover. It's brilliant!
Muppet & Henry - Dareh is currently playing with the phone as I type
Shannon - the three books are a lovely gift - I am so pleased to have books in the house for him as I want him to love reading as much as I do.
Eren and Mine - I've wanted a bath book for Dareh for ages. He loves his bath so I know it will go down a treat.
Apricot and Huw - thank you for the lovely card for me and for the brilliant shapes book. Love how colourful and big it is.
Lisa and Ben - Dareh loves the shape sorted at the creche so it was one of the things I had planned to get for him before our finances got so bad so thank you!
Megablock person - you need to name yourself! Can't quite make out the name on the card. Dareh is an engineer at heart like his daddy so he's well into those blocks!
Still not figured out who sent the bubble blower and thank you again to Dalry for the hedgehog!

Thank you all a million times over I am so happy right now!

Stefka · 21/10/2008 12:14

There was so much stuff that I missed a package! WWAJC & Anya - thank you so much for the caterpillar book!! I loved that one when I was wee - it's a classic!

muppetgirl · 21/10/2008 12:18

I think it's

'Piggies to the rescue!'

we didn't want any of our own to be unhappy on their lo's birthday. You''re a fab, FAB mum who's having a tough time.

I love all you ladies too and can't wait for the day that we can all meet up!

Dalrymps · 21/10/2008 12:23

Oh Stefka, glad royal mail did their job and the rest fo the pressies turned up. You sound so happy and that was the intention

Happy birthday Dareh and Eren!!!!

Just a quickie from me... Just been frantically tidying the house once boys asleep as we have a viewing this pm!!! Keep your fingers crossed that she buys it as it would be lovely to be in a big shiny new house and the ones we like have just been reduced by quite a lot!

Stefka delighted that we have helped you to have a lovely day. Adam sent the megabloks - I keep telling him to take more care when writing but he doesn't listen (OK so it's true what they say about doctor's writing then!!!!)

J2O about the break in. What a complete bummer.

Hello to the rest of you lovely ladies and I will try and catch up a bit better later in the week - off to do a bit more work for my course which starts tomorrow...

LisaLessLumpy · 21/10/2008 14:25

Happy Birthday Dareh and Eren.

Stefka - You are more than welcome, every little one deserves a special first Birthday. It will be a good fingers up to SiL too

So glad Royal Mail came up trumps, a lot of us missed saturdays post due to one thing or another and we were all kicking ourselves over email thinking we would be too late

LisaLessLumpy · 21/10/2008 14:26

J20 - bummer about the break in, the little B*strds

Alicet - fingers crossed for your viewing this afternoon.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 21/10/2008 17:40

Stefka - so glad that Dareh has had a good day - and glad that you're happy. None of us should be sad on our lo's first birthday.

J2O - we have a mortgage specialist in the office who does all that but he's got details of all the lenders in the market on some clever software that keeps up to date with all the deals as they come out. Sorry to hear about Rich's car being broken into - some people are just sh*ts.

Eren! Sorry, happy birthday to you to . Was trying to remember the list without looking and failed miserably.

crochetdiva · 21/10/2008 18:13

Stefka - So glad you and Dareh have had a great day: that's enough for me (I've gone all teary here, silly old cow I am!) - I'm just glad that we've helped you put 2 fingers up to SiL!

Happy Birthday Dareh and Eren!

Hi to everybody else ... roll on half-term holiday next week - I'm kn@ckered! Working full time with one was hard enough: it's like a military operation in our house in the mornings with 2 of them to get ready! Mind you - we're always out by 7.45, so we're not doing too badly!

love to all ... will catch up more when on half-term, I promise!

LisaLessLumpy · 21/10/2008 19:21

Well what a difference a week makes, Ben has gone from just letting go of furniture to take a few steps to walking everywhere, and I mean everywhere! there is just no stopping him now On sunday we went to a soft play centre and I took Ben on the big kids part, he loved it, even went down the big slide on his own, he crawled ahead of me, turned round onto his tummmy at the top and before I could get myself sat on the other one he was off! He has no fear

Also had his first tantrum today and I have no idea why, it was during his tea all I can think is that he didn't want his sandwich, he just wanted his wotsits which he had finished, he then kicked off, full on screaming, crying and arching his back. I hope he doesn't start having them, I can count the times on one hand that Sam has ever had one.

J2O · 21/10/2008 20:03

thanks everyone for the sympathies-it really really pisses me off and has got me quite down today, Richie also. Its getting to that time of year when burglaries/break ins etc get more common and it reminds me of last year when i had that sneak burglary when i was in the bath, it really makes you feel vunerable and i don't know how to prevent it apart from the usual precautions. Rich is going to get a different car as apparantly the one he has (toyota corolla) is a quite commom target, so he's looking at Audi's now at least they should have alarms! I wouldn't mind, but i quite often accidently leave my car unlocked and nobody has gone in it (touch wood) well, at least they wouldn't need to break the window! Oh, and, as he lives in the West of the city and i live in the East, we are always arguing about which is the better side to live, and things like this DO NOT work in favour of my argument!

Stefka-i got a tear to my eye too, i'm so glad you felt ok about it, I was a little worried you'd be offended. Am liking the sil edge on it too
I think you are all the best friends i've ever had iykwim, i wonder if we'll still all chat by the time the los are 10 or 20 or having their own babies!

Alice-am excited about the house for you and great news about the house prices going down for you. pmsl @ the doctors writing, i just knew it'd be you

WWAJC-the only reason i asked was because Richie is needing to change his mortgage over and i was going to send him your way if it'd help you make money! I know you wouldn't rip him off too

Crochet-am impressed at your 7.45 out of the house, i struggle to leave by 9.10 for college after rushing dd1 down the road and shooing her off to school, then running back and getting bottles..etc ready.

LLL-Well done Ben! Shannon just refuses to even take one step, she'd rather drop down and crawl 6 inches! She also has a hell of a lot of tantrums already, guess it must be girls...or me!

well, against my better judgement(lack of money and probably sleep) I have managed to get a baby sitter for Sat 1st Nov and me and Rich are driving up to his mates in London for a halloween party, i'm not too keen on going but he is really excited so i suppose i should make an effort! I have been a prize cow to him lately, being tired and possibly anemic and he has took it all in his stride, even taking Shannon out or getting up with her in a morning so i suppose i owe him some quality time, also out this Sat as his friends are coming down from Scarbrough-its a sad time when i'd prefer to be sleeping than going out drinking!

Shanon is still off, i really don't know what to do with her, i'm hoping her teeth will come soon very very soon as i think they may be the route of the problem, shes still only got 2!

right kids are in bed, bath and a spot of Facebook for me i think!

J2O · 21/10/2008 20:04

God i used a lot or !!'s in that last post!

strawberrylace · 21/10/2008 21:08

Hello everyone!
And happy birthday to Eren and Dareh!
Stefka - so glad that Dareh, and you, liked all the pressies. We (me and DS) sent the bubble blower, as DS loves bubbles so he hoped Dareh would too. Plus with the blower you don't have to do all the work
J20 - that's sooo annoying about the break-in
LLL - Lol at Ben's soft play adventure and his tantrum - the terrible twos have obv come early!

Well, our childminder has been ill today, so DH took the day off to look after DS as I had too many meetings at work that I couldn't get out. They are still out! Though that's cos they went to DH's dad's for tea - but i want to know what they've been up to all day. i persuaded DH to take DS to a toddler group with some of my mum friends this morning, and I want to know how it went - I'm sure DH just thinks i'm a lady-wot-lunches (his words) when I have DS, so I wonder how busy he's been

Stefka · 21/10/2008 21:13

Thank you Alice - he loves the blocks - I am quite taken with them myself! Good luck with all the house stuff.

J20 - that is so horrible about the break in. I would be so upset - especially if it was the second time it has happened. People can be so vile. Hope you guys enjoy the party - is it fancy dress? Hope Shannon feels better soon - Dareh only has his one tooth so she's ahead of him.

I am also impressed by the 7:45 house exit. Yesterday I wasn't even dressed by 11:30! God knows what the postie thought!

LLL - impressed with the walking. Dareh hasn't walked at all yet. Think it will be a while yet.

Well thanks to you lovely ladies it took me ages to tidy up my living room today !! Thank you all again - I am still buzzing. It's so nice to be cheered up like that and Dareh was nicely distracted from his sore mouth by all his goodies. He read to us in the bath from his new bath book!

He has a jab tomorrow - so not looking forward to that. Still can't believe he is one - he's not a baby anymore he's a boy. Always be my baby though - I better go before I start crying again!

FloriaTosca · 21/10/2008 22:53

Stefka; You are more than welcome...you had me welling up too.. Just glad that the Royal Mail came up trumphs (for once) I got cholked up on Alexs birthday too (couldn't sing happy birthday{hmm])Frightening how fast this last year has gone..I hope things buck up financially over the next one for you.
I'm deeply of those of you who are "playing with fire"...wish with all my heart I could too but "I want" sadly isnt a good enough reason for risking so much again... even if I think it is one well worth taking.... I hope with all my heart one of you will get a bfp soon ...

Apricotle · 21/10/2008 22:54

Awww Stefka, you've brought a tear to my eye too. I'm so pleased you were pleased! And so pleased they arrived all together like that. Yay

Late now, so night night all

X

Mine · 21/10/2008 22:59

ahh Stefka you made me cry!!!

Happy birthday to Dareh!! I'm glad he likes his pressie.
I wish we lived near by then we could have had a double birthday party

I guess i should say well done you too.... this time last year we pushed and we pushed and out the little monsters popped (well in my case sliced out!)

Lisa & Ben - thank you soo much for Eren's present, he absolutely loves it! he played with it for ages which is a miracle because his attention span is about 3 minutes!

I have to say, that without you guys i would have found it soo much harder to deal with being a new mum. You have given me so much support, advice and just been there to share things with that i couldn;t get anywhere else.

Hello to everyone ...
J20 you'll love the party when you get there. Really carppy and bad luck re the break in.
I hope Shannon feels better soon too.

Muppet - has DH heard abt the job yet??

Eren's party was great, everyone came in fancy dress. We only had family over so we have a mini baby party this weekend for Eren;s friends as our house isn;t big enough for everyone. Great excuse for more cake, jelly & ice-cream

I'm fed up with moaning at work. they are making my life so difficult, stressful and just down right miserable. I've talked abt it with DH for a while now and decided to resign on friday. My BF is a solicitor and it trying to talk me into suing, which i hate to even think abt but i'm being bullied at work and i'm not putting up with it any more.
I feel so much better by just making that decision.

Off to bed now..... i need to give DH a shove to make him stop snoring because its going to drive me nuts!
Night night
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 22/10/2008 08:52

Well Anya was playing upstairs last night (she woke up at 10 and didn't go back to sleep until 11:30 ), crawling about and she pushed herself up with her arms as though she was going to sit, but she didn't put her bum on the floor and actually pushed herself up to stand!! This was in the middle of the floor - no furniture around, no help, nothing. She stood there perfectly still staring at me for about 3 or 4 secs then she just dropped back onto all fours and crawled off. It was so bizarre - I'm not convinced I didn't imagine it - she's never even let go of the furniture before when she's stood up.

Mine - glad you're feeling better having made a decision - that usually means it's the right one! Life's too short to spend it being miserable at work. Hope something else turns up soon.

LLL - well done to Ben at walking.

J2O - thanks for thinking of me, and I would get a bit of commission for referring work to our mortgage guy . I'll email you my work contact details and if Rich wants to get in touch he can.

muppetgirl · 22/10/2008 09:14

It's my birthday! I am 33 today!

Mine - my facebook is wrong so people won't steal my identity

I am paranoid (who said that?)

I have my God daughter and her lovely mummy arriving with cake this afternoon then out with hubbie for a quick meal at the gym, tomorrow out to the cinema with girlies and then next week out with school mummies.

No present from dh but until I threw a diva tantrum last night there wasn't actually even a card....

J2O · 22/10/2008 09:44

grr Muppet, i've just wrote on your wall about your dob, i will delete it! Happy Birthday!!!! hope you have a lovely day and dh gets his act together huh!

WWAJC-thank you, i will forward it to him, my other friend is a mortgage adviser but only searches about 5 lenders and Rich was not impressed, tbh i think he'll be lucky to renew his mortgage at all at the moment. lol at Anya standing, Shannon was playing with Richies little sister the other week, and his sister got told off for taking a toy, Shannon turned round and stuck her tongue out at her, as if to say 'haha' i would of thought i'd imagined it if other people hadn't have seen it, i'm sure she pretends to not understand things when she does really.

Mine, i bet its a relief to make that decision, are you going to look for another job or leave it a while?

right, i'm off out shopping, my head is reeling with what i need to remember to get!

Dalrymps · 22/10/2008 10:20

Happy Birthday Muppet !
