Ooops Choc..sorry...I knew someone integral to the group was missing....how dare rl get in the way of your mning? and how is the youngest lo of the group faring?

Stefka;hope you had a lovely day yesterday.

Alex is driving me bats at the moment..he has, in the last couple of days, developed a facination with whatever he is eating, particularly if it has come off a spoon from me (although occasionally with the fingerfood he has put in his mouth himself too)and he spits everything back out into his hand to have a look and a feel of before putting it back[yuk emoticon], its bad enough with solid food like sultanas but soup? or yoghurt? What is worse he then wipes his messy hands in his hair[aarrggghh! emoticon] I'm sure he only does is because he likes playing in the bath so much!...off now to give him the first shower of the day and wash off this mornings porrige with honey and banana ...that is if I can prise him off the "flexible flyer" seesaw his cousins gave him for his birthday, not that he wants to rock on it gently, he just thinks it makes a great unstable climbing frame (I do have it on 3 layers of carpet/rugs to cushion his falls!)...oh the joy of having a boy!

Just a quick hello from me! Busy at the mo trying to sort out the house and stuff - have been keepng up to date with what you are all up to but no time for proper posts...

Hope you're all well anyway!

I also have a stinking cold but the exciting news is that we are about to put our house on the market! Keep your fingers crossed for us...

J2O · 09/10/2008 14:07

FT- with you on the food in the hair, lately if i give Shannon anything other than fnger food, she baulks, and is sick, so shes living off quavers, toast and cucumber atm, which she likes to spit out and rub in her hair, babies can be so gross!

Alice-how exciting!! What are the prices falling like near you? apparantly Hull is one of the places where they haven't been very affected yet. Have you got a house in mind?

Theladyevenstar · 09/10/2008 19:04

Hi all

sorry I have not been around for a few days.
Monday here i was sitting at home having a lovely phone conversation with my best mate when i got call waiting tone on my mob, it was my uncles step daughter to tell me my uncle had passed away the night before. He had a heart attack while booking a xmas holiday for him and his wife.

Soooooo I have spent from Tuesday onwards helping my Aunt sort out funeral arrangments, death certificate etc and now am knackered. Also I am now trying to sell his car and his sat nav. So if anyone is looking for a car please let me know peeps xxx

alicet · 09/10/2008 19:33

LES sorry to hear that. Hope you're OK...

J2O we did have a house in mind on a new development not far from where we are now. Dh and I are useless at diy and never get round to doing anything so have realised we should really get a new house rather than an older one which I would probably prefer. But the one we had seen has been sold. There are a couple of others but I think we're just going to sell up here and if necessary rent until something comes up. Might choose to do this anyway and let the housing market fall further! Either way if we can sell then our options are open which owuld be lovely IF we can sell!

Dalrymps · 09/10/2008 21:54

Hi all,

Les - sorry to hear about your uncle, hope you're doing ok.

Alice - Good luck with the house, it's a good plan to try and sell then you'll have your options open , hope you find the perfect house!

Floria - with you on the rubbing food in hair thing, although Dylan has so little hair he only catches the very front of it thank god. The rest goes all over his face and sticks in his eyebrows.

J20 - Hope Shannon fancies something other than the quavers cucumber and toast soon, it's soooo frustrating when they decide to be fussy!

Choc - great to hear from you, glad everything is going ok.

Well, I went to the docs yesterday. She put me up to the next dose which is 20mg. I asked about therapy/counselling, she said it was most helpfull if there are specific triggers causing my low mood. I said i'm not sure what is causing it but I certainly have issues with my parents i'd like to dicuss as I haven't been on speaking terms with them for 3 year.As I was telling her I cried a little as it just sounds so sad when I say it out loud. She said the cousellor is a man and if I am comfortable with that she can refer me but there is a 4 month waiting list. She also said that if I decide I don't feel the need to see him closer to the time then I can always cancel. So sh has refered me for now.

I have had a good day today. Got myself up and out and went down to MILs after Dylan ate some lunch (he refused most of it and just kept crying at me whenever I tried to give him some, what a joy!). I went for a nice walk to some local shops with sil (she lives next door to mil) and we bought some chocolates from m and s, we then went back to mils, dh came there from work and we stayed for tea. Feel quite good today. I felt quite frustrated and angry when Dylan wouldn't eat his dinner but I just went in to the lounge, kicked a soft toy to vent my frustration and composed myself then went back to carry on feeding him .

Hope everyone else is ok, hi to everyone i've missed, chat soon x

Dal,
I would like to say I am doing ok but to be honest i feel like shit, (soz for language!!)

My aunt is russian they had been married 3 yrs so this is very difficult for her as her english is not brilliant. My uncle has a daughter from a previous relationship and she is being a pain in the arse which has put my back up...her half sister tried telling me that she will ban me from funeral .... like hell will she!!

No I am not doing ok, I am stressed, trying to hold myself together, as my aunt is falling apart as you can imagine. But My Uncle was the last surviving of 3 brothers 1 of them being my dad who died 5 yrs ago. I am finding this so hard to deal with, I wrote a poem last night which dp is going to read at cremation as I can't. To top it off i was meant to be going to the dr as I have been feeling so depressed for the last 2 months or so and need to get myself sorted sooner rather than later.

Below is what i have written all opinions welcome peeps

You fell in love with the woman of your dreams
This is how this now seems
You went away so very Fast
You have left a pain that will always last.

Leaving behind the ones you love
You joined your brothers in a world above
Your mum was waiting to take your hand
To take you with her to the safest land.

She took your hand and led you on
To where your brothers had already gone.
Your dad was waiting to see your face,
Now you are together all in one place.

Now it's time to say goodbye
as we stand and remember why
You were so loved and will be so missed
knowing you our hearts were truly kissed

Dalrymps · 09/10/2008 22:52

Sorry you're feeling so down LES. You should get to the doc sooner rather than later, you'll feel better for it, I am feeling a little better already. The poem is beautiful, i'm sure it will touch everyone's hearts (((hugs)))

Tles;Deep sympathy for your loss, losing a parent is terrible and each link to them that follows makes it feel like the memory of them is slipping away too. It is lovely that you felt so deeply for your uncle and wonderful that you can express yourself in poetry, I'm sure everyone will appreciate it and it is cathartic for you too. I hope the doctor can give you some help.

Dal:So glad the doctor has referred you, you never know, someone might cancel and you could get seen sooner. I hope the higher dose helps without giving you more side effects, I'm sure it will as you sound more positive just on 10mg, even if you don't feel it.

Well, my little lord and master had me up at 11.45- 12.15, 3.30-4.10 and wanted up and at 'em at 5.55! Needless to say he has just fallen asleep so I think I'll go and get an extra hour to try and recharge my batteries.

alicet · 10/10/2008 10:12

Happy birthday Huw!!!!

LES big hugs

Dal good on you for talking through tings with your GP. I have heard that counselling / cbt often works better when the ad's have had a chance to kick in so the 4 months wait is probably not a bad thing.

Well I'm in bed with a stinking cold. Been feeling a bit crap for a couple of days with no chance to shake it as I have been looking after the boys. Hardly anything on at work today so didn't feel too bad about it but even if it had been busy not sure I would have managed to go in. Hopefully better after a lazy day in bed....

Dalrymps · 10/10/2008 10:22

Hey floria - I've been on the 20mg 2 days now, don't know if i'm imagining it but I feel a little better already .

Sorry sir had you up through the night, hope you catch up on some sleep.

happy birthday Huw!

alice-sorry you've got cold, hope you get better soon

Ft-am with you on the little sods angels not sleeping, Shannon is screaming all night, every night lately, i don't know what to do with her, given her calpol, tething powders, gels etc some nights i'm just having to leave her before i explode with frustration and knackardness, any ideas? I'm not sure if shes doing it because shes in pain or playing up, she wont sleep in the day either, she screams for ages, although she'll quite happily play with no problem, so an as to whether it is pain or not.
My mum has agreed to have her tonight, so will hopefully get a god nights sleep, woohoo!

LES-that poem is lovely, hugs to you honey. go and see the doc about some ads too.

oh finally got the secret santa present from thee PO, it was a bath toy, where you pour water in and the wheel spins, with some floaty toys, Shannon loves it, although she does keep trying to put the tos down my top when shes in the bath, didn't realise last night and found one when i got ready for bed!

Dal-glad you're starting to feel better, agree with Alice about the 4 month wait may be a good thing to get the tablets time to work.

FloriaTosca · 10/10/2008 10:30

Alice; sorry you are feeling rough...hope the bed rest does the trick...[sending get well vibes]

Hi Dal, really glad you are feeling a bit more "up" . Sir slept for an hour and 45 so I made the most of it......off to bounce and rhyme with an altogether happier little chap now...

...tata for now

J2O · 10/10/2008 10:30

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUW

Inzi - Ben has been on cows milk for about 6 weeks now and he is fine on it. He has two bottles of 7-8 oz a day and sometimes a couple of ounces during the day in a beaker. When Sam was one and we went on holiday to Spain, I took formula with me as for some reason I didn't trust Spanish milk.

LES - Sorry to hear about your uncle and that poem is beautiful.

RE: cows milk

I put young Zachmeister on cows milk back when he was 7 months old. I actually told the gp this and she said that it was not a problem, when she had had her children it was 6 months old. He is now 1 as you all know and still a greedy guzzler lol He has his 2 meals....refuses brekkie, in between this he snacks BUT he also has 5 9oz btls of milk a day and when i put him to bed he has another then since we have moved he has been waking in the night and he has had another 9oz btl then,

Yes my baby is greedy lol

Apricotle · 10/10/2008 20:21

Thank you everyone for the lovely birthday wishes!

Thank you secret santa for Huw's lovely book. He loves books and touchy feely ones are his favourites at the moment. So it was spot on.

I'm hoping my present arrived ok and that Anya worked out who this mystery present-giver was cos I stupidly didn't make any mumsnet reference anywhere.

Huw had a haircut for his birthday, and some blocks. But his main present hasn't arrived yet and since it's from e-bay there's always the chance that it'll be crap when it does. Let's hope not, eh?

So sorry to hear about your uncle LES .

Take care all

A x

J2O · 10/10/2008 21:05

who else have put los on cows milk?
I'm dreading it, what with all the problems i had after Farleys changed because shannon seems to have such a dodgy stomach. I blame her genes!

well, i'm going to get an early night, my mum has got both the girls such should be uninterrupted woohoo!!

Stefka · 10/10/2008 21:45

Dareh is not on cow's milk yet. Still breast feeding. Not planning to give up any time soon - especially now he can say boob!! My HV said it was fine to put him over now that he is nearly one though. I think I will start to give it to him as a drink soon.

Happy birthday to Huw!! Hope the day was special

LES so sorry for your loss. I hope that you are taking good care of yourself.

Dalry - well done for speaking to your Dr! It's great that you are on that waiting list - the time you have to wait is so frustrating but at least you will be seen eventually.

Hope you feel better soon Alice.
