Crikey.Hark at Gordon Ramsey over there!

Scoot recalls with loathing her dinner of egg white omelette and a raw carrot

ShowOfHands · 11/09/2008 22:38

Does rather put my homemade fishfingers to shame!

Just had a look at the Aldwych online, don't tell PJ, Dirty Dancing's on there atm! I'm up for going if you are. Any other takers? I love Shakespeare and DT so might come over unnecessary.

And how I know you won't have your wicked way with me, is I've seen me naked. It's not pretty I promise you. I have no interesting accent and my pyjamas have monkies on them. Or shall I wear my black lacy number and stilettos as it's a special occasion?

charleymouse · 11/09/2008 23:40

DH has just said I have to update my list as my choices are 500 years old and I would have to put a splint on their d**cks
Will sleep on it and come up with a new modern list which will manage without viagra. Dave Gahan is so not gay.

Cheers April, Elkie, TMAM and Scoot today has not been a good day. Am hoping few days away with DH & DC will cheer me up next week.

Night night all, thanks for being there and saying the right things.

charleymouse · 11/09/2008 23:53

DH has very thoughtfully just snapped at me and told me not to burst into tears everytime I see twins or hear about them as it won't bring mine back.
sensitive huh.
Am hoping he is just upset as I was as he did not know either, plus he has man flu

charleymouse · 12/09/2008 00:52

Okay he has now apologised for snapping and he thinks I am coping really well. not sure he sees what is happening in my twisted little head though.

Have been thinking and watching unbreakable and Bruce Willis looks might fine, also Samuel L Jackson quite tasty. Robert Carlisle he's not too old is he?

TheGreatScootini · 12/09/2008 07:14

DH's just dont get it sometimes do they.Im glad he apologised or I would have had a few choice words for him..I wonder is he finding it hard to cope but is trying to be strong for you but seeing you (understandably) upset brings it all closer to the surface for him?

Bruce Willis is unacceptable.ugh.And DG really is gay..I have the exact same argument with my BF who loves the 'mode and has an inexplicable fixation on the man..

The PJ's would do fine SOH..I like you just the way you are...

I have killed one of my neighbours coi karp..I have been feeding them whilst they are away and I may have er, forgotten a few times. And now one has passed over!I am in trouble...they are mental about the ruddy things!

AprilMeadow · 12/09/2008 09:14

Well looks like dh will be busy today as XL airways have gone bust, and they have LOTS of customers booked with them! Oh dear better make sure i have beer in the fridge when he gets home.

Charley, am pleased that your dh apologised. Maybe as Scoot said he is trying to be strong for you and sometimes it gets too much for him. Lots of love xx

largeginandtonic · 12/09/2008 09:22

Yes SOH i do still look at girls, mostly disagreeing with dh about ones atractiveness. I quite like your monley pj's

CM my lovely you are coping splendiferously, of course you are going to feel bad and cheated by the whole thing. It was such an awful tragic thing to happen. Wish you were closer so i could give you a hug.

Lups what is happening? Love to you my sweet, you do go through the mill with everything.

AM the food sounds fab! The course sounds like my idea of hell, numbers and business plans >

DD has a kidney infection, i knew it. Poor thing.

We have friends for the weekend so will be off again, cleaning today.

AprilMeadow · 12/09/2008 09:56

Got dh to do some of my homework for me as i dont kow what Sunshine really is/does... I do now though as i have a nice few paragraphs to 're-word'.

We are off to Swindon tomorrow for the day... oh should message MumtoG.... Dh wants to go to the model train exhib there and then we will go to the outlet village - cant wait

Going to bake some cakes for all the poor staff in the office today..... what to make......

Jennyusedtobepink · 12/09/2008 09:58

Scoot - Fancy a bit? Seriously, , if things get any worse I would consider a three way relationship with you and dh if you're both up for it. I can't believe you killed the fish, I'm sure it died of natural causes.

AM - So the cheesecake went well then. I lurve cheesecake, it's the best, next to my near-obsession with KKs, thanks to you and Scoot.

LG&T - Poor Phin, bless her heart. She's a little trouper, and so cute on MSN on Sunday (especially after she said I looked like a girl). I will be stealing her in the middle of the night and replacing her with L. The fabulous non-sleeping child. Who went to sleep in my bed last night lest I throw her through the window.

SOH - Dirty Dancing hey? You best get yourself down there and educate yourself, my girl. Still the best sex scene ever, IMO.

ShowOfHands · 12/09/2008 10:03

Aww poor old Phin. I wondered about her kidneys when you mentioned she was poorly. I suppose it's going to be a worry every time she starts to look run down now. Give her a big cuddle from me. She's such a smashing little girl. I'm looking forward to watching her get better and better at putting Sailor Joe in his rightful place as she gets older. Must get in touch with you about me popping the birth pool in to you in October while I'm darn sarf. Will bring the creation for DD too.

I'm with you on the numbers and business plans hell. Wouldn't mind the cookery course though. I'm a literature student at heart though so better at sitting round and spouting tenuous nonsense.

((CM)) And I don't do hugs, so that's rather special.

Scoot, you fish killer you! People with koi are rather nuts about them I find. They're pretty but I can't get that excited about them. Pigs on the other hand, oh how I adore them.

AM, uh oh. DH is going to be a ball of stress, no? Best of luck to him.

I too won't be around a great deal this weekend as I'm off to my Old Folks' house. It's my dear ol' Da's birthday today. I'm whipping up chocolate fudge cake and apple lattices in between typing. Having a wee party for him. Take care all, see you on the other side.

ShowOfHands · 12/09/2008 10:05

PJ, I like Dirty Dancing but that's a secret. Best sex scene ever is in In America. Quite a good sex scene in Time Traveller's Wife. Otherwise a heap of nonsense in my humble opinion.

Jennyusedtobepink · 12/09/2008 10:10

Oh I love fudge cake too - send me some of that as well.

Have a great time, I'm sure M will have a ball with her grandparents. My daddy is 53 on Monday, I've bought him tickets to see Footloose at the Empire.

AprilMeadow · 12/09/2008 10:12

LG&T poor little Phin. Hope she gets better soon xx

Have a good weekend SOH xx

PJ oh dear that doesnt sound like a good night for you then. Did she sleep when put in your bed?

I will re-create the cheesecake for you when we go to Scoot's PJ party. Dh says i am allowed to go

Charley after reading about your CP trip i have booked a weekend away at Longleat for the last w/e in Nov. Dh is away in SPAIN for 5 days on a 'works' conference. So decided that rather than sit here for the w/e i would take them away. Cant wait

AprilMeadow · 12/09/2008 10:13

Wow he is really young Pink! My Dad is 57 & mum 52

Jennyusedtobepink · 12/09/2008 10:15

I know they are young! My mum was a gym slip bride! She is 51 in December. When she has L, people assume she's her mum, and she NEVER corrects them.

AprilMeadow · 12/09/2008 10:27

My mum often gets mistaken for J&E's mum when she is out and about with them. But she does correct them as she loves the fact she looks so good for her age!

AprilMeadow · 12/09/2008 10:28

Right i have a house to clean and cakes to bake. Back later lovlies xx

TheGreatScootini · 12/09/2008 11:35

My dad is 78!To be fair you would never kinow it..

Have a good weekend SOH..I will scope out some prospective dates for Tenant watching whilst you are away..

Poor Phin..L is prone to kidney infections too..its horrid and very worrying.Wishing her better soon.

Have seen all the poor stranded people at the airports on the news..DH will be up against it today then AM..Bless you for making the cakes for the staff.Even if it means im now the only one on here who cant bake to save my life...

Any time PJ..

We have been to buy M'S first shoes this morn (£28 )Whilst I was there gotn L's feet measured too, not really thinking she would've grown any..she has gone up a sixe and half in 4 weeks!(Assuming they measured her right etierh time I suppose, not sure I trust the clarkers women soemtimes. Not what it used to be I dont think..)So had to shell out for shoes for her too.Got her Mothercare ones though..2 pairs, (trainers and boots to wear with skirts and trousers) for the same price as Clarkes 1 pair..what a racket it is!

Add in buying Scooter (the cats) medicated food, (£20), petrol (£50) a lettuce and tomatoes from the greengrocer (cheaper and better and a nicer retro experience than Tesco (£1.28) and I have managed to spend and I have managed to spend £131.27 in an hour and half
Am thinking iof giving it all up to take up The Good Life in the outer Hebrides or something

Excpet if I cant keep a fish alive what hope have I for livestock?Getting quite nervy about them coming home now...think they may tell me off.. might pretend to be out..

TheGreatScootini · 12/09/2008 11:36

Sorry for my spelling.Worse even than normal as L is 'helping'

ShowOfHands · 12/09/2008 11:38

My Dad is 51 today, my Mum is 53.

MIL is 47, FIL is 50!

Having youngish parents means they are very involved with M which is great. She also has 4 great grandmothers, a great grandfather and a great great grandmother. She's spoilt rotten! Grandad Fish is her favourite though (my Dad).

Baked up a storm. Chocolate fudge cake setting, jam tarts cooling, apple lattices looking at me.

JamInMyWellies · 12/09/2008 11:48

Must be the weekend for birthdays. My mum is 59 today.

PJ and Scoot are the 2 of you ptopsing some sort of threesome. Really this thread is out of control what with LG&T and her lesbianism I am really not sure it gows along with my Daily Mail tendencies.

Boring old day here today Archie is the whingiest clingiest baby ever not happy being carried not happy being down aarrgghh. Just had another blood test at the docs really what are they checking I can never remember what all this blood taking is about in pregnancy.

CHarely lgad to hear DH apologised.

LG&T poor old P cranberry juice and a hot water bottle on her tummy will help.

SOH have a lovely wkend.

AM what a nightmare hope DH manages ok I would say mucho beer for when he gets home.

Well off to put wingebag down for a snooze then I have to tackle the gigantic ironing pile.

Themasterandmargaritas · 12/09/2008 11:52

Must be catching this baking business, we have scoffed courgette cake and gingerbread cake. Gone.

You whippersnappers do have young parents don't you? Actally mine are quite young at 61 and 62 and I am about 40 years older than the rest of you.

April at the news, what a nightmare for dh to deal with.

LG&T, poor wee Phin. Hope she pulls through quickly it must be really uncomfortable.

Scoot, worry ye not, these fish die at any old thing. Simply buy them another, slip it in and they won't notice the difference.

Enjoy your weekends. I must go and rescue ds1 from Cbeebie hell. (Tis a new channel for us, so now we can really appreciate ITNG )

Jennyusedtobepink · 12/09/2008 13:47

You'll never believe it. I've just been to Tesco to pick up a few things at lunch time and as I was browsing the fruit salads, I noticed a, wait for it, Krispy Kreme stand.

charleymouse · 12/09/2008 13:52

Scoot and April yes I think he does try to keep a stiff upper lip.

Scoot. No I will not accept that DG is gay sticks fingers in ears lalalalalalalal Scoot other than coming clean p'raps you could remove fish and say you have seen a heron recently and hope it hasn't had any of the fish. As it has been so cold they shouldn't have been eating too much anyway, they are more likely to have problems from over feeding than under feeding.

Nigella April hooray on the studying and the baking you are domestic goddess. Woohoo for weekend away at CP.

LG&T Thanks for the long word will see what it means later sorry to hear P has an infection.

PJ did we have a date set for that krispy -kreme fest meet up yet?

SOH thank you for the hug, it was very special. Have a good weekend with your Pops, give him a hug form me. Can get you, tank and A N Other in for free at CP if you fancy it. We are CP junkies "select guests" and get 2 free adult day passes everytime we go. They are on one ticket though so have to use both to get one IYKWIM.

Thanks Jam, good luck with the ironing.

Think our parents are comparable ages TMAM, fancy an amontillado?

My mum is 62 in November so relatively young just a bit hands off re the DC Dad died aged 59 in 2004. he never even knew he would be a granddaddy. FIL is 70, MIL died aged 63 in 2004. She did at least get to feel DD kicking but died before she was born. God I am a miserable cow aren't I? Sorry. On a positive note DD has known 3 great grandparents.

G has a pair of cruiser shoes now from startrite and DD wanted her feet measured they hadn't changed but we humoured her with a new pair of bling bling gross lovely spangly lelli kelli trainers. Bill was approx £60 thought the startrites must be expensive and thought well they are his first shoes got home and checked receipt the were £18 The bloody lovely LKs were outrageous and not even necessary.

All these birthdays approx 9 months after Christmas/new year
